My other go to is a BLT double-decker on Rye add Guetta, fried egg and American cheese. I admit I come here hung over most of the time and it's perfect and I love it but you don't have to be hung over for Bretherton's family restaurant to hit the spot... you could also be really high. Breakfast, this place, do it!! I met a group of friends for brunch today. I ordered the country omelet with hashbrowns and wheat toast. I also ordered a side of goetta, which was cooked perfectly!! The omelet was a good size, and with the side and toast that come with it was more than filling. So very flavorful, lots of cheese and filings, it contains ham, hashbrowns, onions and green peppers. Delicious!! I ordered my hashbrowns well done, they were exactly as I hoped they would be. One of my friends had to send her hashbrowns back because they weren't done enough - she did not ask for them to be well done. Brothertons is delicious for cheap diner food ! Breakfast served all day ! I get the open faced roast beef w/ mashed potatoes & Mac & cheese . . It's delicious & cheap ! $8.99 for a huge portion! My mom got the open faced turkey with mashed potatoes & green beans - she ate all of it . Also was $8.99 Soda was $1.99 with free refills. The menu is diner food , double deckers , chili , appetizers , breakfast and steaks . The service is friendly and has a hometown feel - the inside is antique like stepping back into the 90's . I have amazing service every time I come here! The prices are unbeatable and the food is really good as well! The feel of the place is a cozy mom & pop shop, it is fairly small but I have never had an issue with seating as people tend to go in and out quickly. The place is packed a lot of times, but that's because they're worth it! The customer service alone will make you come back, let alone the yummy food! I highly recommend this establishment to anyone. It sits on Hamilton Avenue at the crossroad of Compton. It's where Hamilton is busiest, so good to know, there is free parking in the back. Just watch for some rough terrain. We entered from the back. The place was full on a Thursday evening about 6:30 pm. The waitress was efficient and kind. There was a variety of foods and breakfast served all day. My friend ordered the salmon and found that the size of the portion matched the lower price of about $12. They put a special flavoring on the salmon that is like teriyaki. They have a vegetable of the day. The salads are colorful with cheese tomatoes and iceberg lettuce. I ordered the blackened chicken breast that covered my plate and definitely shareable. Yum! The fries were typical thicker crinkle cut. Beer menu was limited for draft, but cans were also available. We are definitely going back to this relaxed atmosphere to try more from the menu. I'd never had Brotherton's before even though I've lived pretty close to it all of my life. I've heard the food was good and when I was thinking of ordering Door Dash, it popped into my mind. I'd been craving a club sandwich, so I ordered a double decker with turkey, bacon, cheddar cheese and fries. The sandwich was packed with meat! Not sure why but I didn't expect that. I was pleasantly surprised. I forgot to take a picture of it. The fries were crinkle cut which are my favorite. However, they weren't crisp at all. So this is a family diner and a nice alternative to an area surrounded with chains just down the road. I think the portions were bigger in the past. I also wish they had some hot sauce. Western omelette was pretty decent. They gave 2 slices of toast and half a plate of home fries. The omelet which is accompanied was by toast and home fries is $7.45. Brothertons is a family restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. They also cater. Vintage and old school building which has a comfortable and welcoming feel. We walked in and was greeted by a friend server. She told us to seat ourselves and gave us a menu and took our drink orders right away. I got the BLT sandwich on wheat bread and added crinkle fries. My boyfriend got the ultimate stuffed burger (jalapeño cheese, lettuce tomato, onions and pickle with an order or onion rings. We got our meals in less than 15 minutes. My sand which was really good! Not too much mayo and enough thick bacon for you to really taste the sandwich. Fries were hot and yummy. My boyfriend also enjoyed his meal. He especially loved the onion rings. They have a rewards program which is free. Spend $100.00 and get $10.00. Just give them your name so they can put it in the system. We had a good experience! First time dining here. The wait staff was very pleasant, and the food was tasty and reasonably priced. However, the bathrooms were disgusting. They appeared to have not been cleaned in over a week. I went here with a friend and we both wanted breakfast, but couldn't quite decide if we wanted sweet or savory so we ordered a French toast with bacon meal, and the biscuits and gravy with eggs and hashbrowns meal. Added peppers and onions to the hashbrowns , and otherwise didn't change anything. Unfortunately the only thing that was good with those hashbrowns, the biscuit was really soft, no crisp, didn't taste like it was all the way cooked even . The gravy was flavorless and bland, runny, very few small circles of sausage mixed up in there, and not even a strong pepper flavor. The French toast was not very sweet on its own, and the bottle of syrup that we had to ask for was like the generic storebrand, nothing impressive in flavor either. French toast had no crunch, no crisp, was just soggy toast with a little bit of powdered sugar on top. The bacon was crispy, and the eggs were well done, but otherwise it was a total failure. Service was very quick, they do breakfast all day, and they are one of very few restaurants in the area, let alone one open all seven days of the week. Continuing my search for the best omelet in Cincinnati with thanks to Yelp, we ventured to Mt. Healthy to find this little gem. It's a down home country style family diner. It seems like everyone in here knows one another. One thing I noticed right away that was different from other diners what that they sell alcohol and also have a few TV's scattered around. Not sure what this place turns into at night, but we were here for a good ol' fashioned breakfast. I ordered up the Western Omelet in true Cindy fashion. The bf ordered the country fried steak because let's face it you don't get a whole lot of chances to eat country fried steak...it also came with toast, two eggs, and hash browns. I had a bite and it was decent. The gravy wasn't my favorite but I wasn't expecting a whole lot either. The hash browns were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside just the way I like them. These were probably some of my favorite hash browns I have ever had. Now onto the Omelet. Whoaaaaa. Money. This thing was KILLER. It had everything I love about an omelet. 1) It was wispy thin and folded over three times and tucked into a little pouch of deliciousness. 2) The ingredients inside were REAL, none of that fake frozen stuff here. AND they were sautéed on the greasy delicious flat top yet still had the perfect bite to them. When I bit into this thing, I felt like all when silent and a loud orchestra played booming music in my head and my tastebuds exploded. I also want to mention that the service was great. Our server was smiley and very attentive. A+ for cozy booths, and cheap home made goodness. Seriously hats off to the chef for straight up workin' it back in the kitchen.
