Love this place! Their soda machines are dialed in! Best Diet Coke in the city. Lots of carbonation-even better than McDonalds- and lots of ice. They also have complimentary popcorn - and it's better than movie theater popcorn. I truly come here for the popcorn and Diet Coke. Their food is good too! I like their chicken tenders. Wow was this place packed for a Wednesday lunch. We got sat right away and the staff was hustling. I got the fried chicken sandwich and it was good. The chicken was cooked well and the pepper jack cheese I added was nice. The fries were a bit soggy but still good. You do get a free soda or tea included with your lunch which was nice. Super busy and jam packed parking lot but seated immediately. Ordered the chicken strips , sweet potato and broccoli The chicken stripe were actually the breast flattened out and fried. They were not greasy. The ranch dressing is made in house. Large portions and most people left with boxes. Definitely worth stopping in. Some friends and I went to Silver Spring House for lunch after church and we had an absolutely fantastic time. The service was impeccable! As busy as it was, we were seated very quickly and our server was very prompt in taking drink orders. The menu is fantastic! This was my first time at SSH, so I wasn't sure what to order. I was told their chicken is amazing, but then I saw fried shrimp on the menu. I do love fried shrimp. It came with coleslaw and fries. Perfect! I did notice that there was 1 price for most of the meals, which is also nice. It was the appetizers and salads, etc. that had different pricing. Our server, at one point, just brought us pitchers to refill our drinks, which was amazing. As we were eating our lunch, the staff were decorating the outside of the restaurant for Christmas. I do love the island vibe SSH has and now it's a bit merrier with the Christmas decor. Overall, this was an excellent place to eat - the food, service, price, and ambiance were great. First time at this unique venue. Found out that it has been around for many years and is filled with a lot of interesting memorabilia. It is huge! Lots of seating with a large bar in the center and windows along the perimeter that open up in good weather for a partial outdoor dining experience. SSH is known for its chicken, and it is served in many forms from grilled to fried to atop salads, etc. I had the Black Bean and Chicken Salad with citrus-marinated grilled chicken breast. The chicken was fantastic, the salad portion not so much. The cilantro dressing is a vinaigrette and tasted very high on the vinegar scale. For some reason, I was thinking it would be more of a creamy dressing. The greens were shredded (as mentioned on the menu). It reminded me more of a chopped salad. A nice touch is that a drink is included with your meal. Besides the grilled chicken on my salad, my other highlight was the old-fashioned. This was fantastic! Visited on a busy weekday for lunch. It was a sweltering sunny August day. With that being said I was surprised to find they did not have AC. the windows were open and there was a large drum fan positioned in the center that did provide nice air circulation. However on days like that it still gets sticky due to humidity. The interior is fairly dark with lots of wood and most of the tables are high tops. I did notice they had a wide-ranging selection of draft beers. The menu is typical bar type food with burgers and fried chicken among the items. I ordered a fried chicken salad from the lunch menu which includes the main dish and a non-alcoholic drink. The fried chicken in the salad was yummy however the whole salad was at best -ok. It had an overwhelming amount of shredded cheddar on top. Which, perhaps due to the warm weather was slightly melted. As much as I love cheese this was a little too much. There should have been more lettuce- which seemed sparse for the salad. Our server was pleasant and very attentive. The wait for food seemed long, but perhaps it was because of the busyness. The price was reasonable. Overall, I would visit here again, but it would have to be when the weather is cooler. read more

The place was large and appeared really busy. Luckily, I was seated quickly and served promptly. The atmosphere appeared rather chaotic with pictures covering any open space on walls. They had a complimentary popcorn stand which was nice. The food came out quicker than I expected.The food was good. I had the fish and chips. The crinkle cut fries were decent but a few of them tasted like they were double fried. My wife ordered the salad which tasted good. Fruit was sweet. read more

I think this is a one off event because we have always enjoyed the food and service here. However, the most recent visit, the server covering the outside patio seemed very bothered. The tables in the restaurant are placed close together, which doesn't bother us, but this server bumped into me or my date -hard- each time she passed by our table. We were sitting as close to the table as we could, but the tables were placed close together. The server seemed very annoyed by this and took it upon herself to physically take her frustration out on our table. I'm usually patient and understanding, but after this happened repeatedly with no acknowledgment, it was obvious the physical contact was purposeful. Serving is a tough job, and perhaps it's not the best job for this individual. read more

We were invited out with some friends for a belated birthday celebration. Our first time here. The place was jam-packed and it was hotter than hell in there despite the outside temperatures being in the '50s. I ordered a spinach salad with strawberries almonds and grilled chicken on top. It was a very generous portion which I appreciated but it was just so so. There were lots of chewy fatty parts of the chicken breast that I couldn't eat. The cool thing is they have a popcorn machine that goes nonstop. That's not something you see often in this day and age. Would we eat here again? Sure I'd be willing to give it another try but I definitely know not to dress for winter if we are going to sit inside. read more

Met here for a business lunch, and can tell they take pride in fast, quality service. Our server was very friendly and the place was packed. Ordered the Lane's Spinach salad which was good but nothing crazy. I definitely enjoyed the bacon dressing (it's served warm). Great variety, great service, great food. We sat outside an hour before closing after a super long day at King's Island, and everyone enjoyed their food, from kids' burger with Mac n cheese to shrimp platter to a salad with chicken/fruit -- the blood orange dressing was terrific! My friend said she thought her fried shrimp was a little over cooked, but my husband said his was fine. The silver springhouse is always a great idea! Don't let the free flowing popcorn fool you ~ food is great quality & quantity! The chicken is always so fresh. The atmosphere is definitely one giant bar ! Lol. Indoor/ outdoor seating is kinda all mixed together! I'm never sure if we're indoors or out since they have fans blowing and covering overhead. It's always a friendly atmosphere . Staff is quick to seat you, even though they are always full. They truly have great QUALITY FOOD , so don't mistake it for bar food. I came in here for lunch with my best friend, I was surprised how big this place is. I know it looks big outside but wow it can seat a couple hundred people I think and the service was excellent and the food came out hot and quick. I was super happy with the quality of the food and I took half of it with me to give to a friend to eat and I was still stuffed. The place was very clean and so were the restrooms, at least the mens. Silver Spring House is one of our favorite places to go. If you like feeling as if you are dining out on a tropical vacation, this is the place to go. You don't' even have to leave Ohio to do it. We enjoy the beachy vibe it gives. Pulling up to the restaurant, you will get that feeling with the palm trees , flamingos, and the tropical colors of the building itself. As you walk inside, you will have your favorite sports on several tv's around the area. They have recently expanded their restaurant, so there is ample seating. They have a few bars as well. You can enjoy some popcorn from the popcorn machine while you wait. They are known for their chicken, as it is fabulous. I usually get the Cajun Quarter Chicken dark meat. It is marinated in wonderful citrus juices and spices. I can't recommend it enough. Today, however, I ordered their BCJ Chicken Pizza - Their pizza dough is provided by Roc-a-fellas Pizza in Sharonville. The pizza was very good. It had a white sauce, cheddar jack cheese, bacon, grilled chicken, and ranch dressing drizzle on top. My husband had the specialty pizza of the day. It was a lasagna pizza. It is just like it sounds. He enjoyed the flavors. Another delicious entree is their chicken tenders. I don't think I have had anything that I have not liked from their menu. This was the local restaurant for dinner with my work crew of 12, and fit nicely for the pub grub style we often go for. While I didn't know it we were actually outside in their covered patio area rather than the interior restaurant. Could've fooled me! It's completely sealed in for the winter season, with lighting, restrooms and tons of high top tables. Service was extremely friendly and around the space you could see all of their team members hustling to take care of customers. For a big group we received our appetizers and dinner timely and I was never without a tall beer. Loved the popcorn machine in the corner. Baskets were available to help yourself and it's the best combo with cold beer. Enjoyed my chicken tenders dinner, including the crinkle fries and slaw. If I'd lived in the area I would've taken home the leftovers. The table got several appetizers (probably one of everything) which I didn't eat much of but did enjoy dipping a few chips into their guacamole. My local co-worker said this restaurant is known for their chicken and that you couldn't go wrong with most of their offerings in that category. Big crowd, lots of full tables of friend and family groups. Fairly lively space and casual. Their Tuesday night looked like a weekend crowd, and apparently that's the norm. read more

Food was bland, not the taste I have had in the past. Could not tell if I was brought chicken salad plate or tuna salad.

My Mom and I tried to have dinner on Saturday, August 17, 2024 and we received the upmost disrespectful service. We were African American customers trying to have a  nice dinner and no waiter or waitress came to our table at all. My mom even looked at a few waitresses directly in the face and these waitresses quickly turned their heads and kept on walking away. The 17th was my family and I's last time that we will eat at the Silver Spring House and we will make our experience known to the restaurant review websites. read more

This is such an interesting restaurant! This would be so fun for a sporting event. When we were there was construction - looks like they're expanding which is awesome. The inside is fun with so many decorations/decor. I thought it would be louder but it was pretty average. The food was also delicious! Highly recommend anything with chicken. read more

Came here after attending the Cincy Tennis Open. Took advantage of their later hours even on a Monday. Huge venue and loved the open air concept with all the windows folded open. With the gentle breeze I almost felt like I was on the Florida coast. Menu had a lot of good classic pun choices. In our group of 6 no one was disappointed. Chicken got best reviews--tender and tasty. Portions were bigger than expected and well priced. Value and quality taste. Drinks were also well priced and came in healthy sizes. Our beer drinkers were not disappointed. Our waitress was well versed in the menu and always one step ahead of us. Frequently checking in and never leaving us without drinks. I literally read the review about an African American family coming to the restaurant and no one helping them. Then I saw a review from an African American guy that was positive so I said well let me give it a try...we literally sat at our table for 15 min before the girl came over to help us. She literally walked right past us before we had to ask another waiter to help us. I saw her tell him she didn't see us! That's laughable because as I mentioned before she walked right by us. This place was great! We arrived at our hotel after a 5 hour drive and were desperate for somewhere to eat quickly. This restaurant was a few minutes away so we decided to try it. The place was busy on a Tuesday night but we got right in, were able to get a booth (we had a toddler with us), and got our food right away. The service was quick and friendly, and the food and drinks were great (sports bar type stuff). The atmosphere was very fun and we could tell it's probably a blast on the weekends. Our server was friendly, accommodating, and fast. Only downside was the lack of AC, and our server said there's no heat in the winter either (they use fans and heat lamps so the whole place is like one big patio). Probably wouldn't be a big deal if the weather was nice but it was in the upper 80s and humid when we visited. read more

Silver Spring House is absolutely one of Cincinnati's most beloved restaurant/bars! It is consistently always busy, even during construction! The food is always great and same with their service.
