What a disappointment after being a customer for years ! Arrived on a Sunday about 2 pm- given the brunch menu to review . After we made our menu choices , someone scurried by and snatched the brunch menus and gave us dinner menus. My husband had a dry tasteless pork sandwich with no BBQ sauce - the fries were hot and fresh . I had 2 uninspired fish tacos w tortilla chips and no side. Add 2 draft beers and the bill was $47 before tip . The service was slow and inattentive. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere/ we won't be back . read more

We came here because they were part of Cincinnati burger week. My mom and I both got that burger and it was delicious! We also got biscuits with honey butter and they melted in your mouth. Our waitress was great and very attentive. She was a trooper when it came to my dad's bad jokes (sorry). The restaurant has a lot of space including outdoor seating. Went the other day, and it was genuinely the worst experience I've had at a restaurant in a very long time. Showed up and sat at the bar with a buddy, and we got some beers. Right away, we noticed that the place had a lingering odor that we could not identify. I asked about the biscuits, and the bartender said she'd bring some out. A while later, we get a tray that has one hard, burnt to hell biscuit for the two of us. The burger was fine, but for $14 it was nothing special. It was empty on a saturday night, and the service was still not great and the bartender was relatively inattentive. Bill came out to $30 for 2 miller lites and a burger for food and service that could be characterized as mediocre at the very best. I will never spend my money there again read more

I'm going to sound just like the rest of the reviews. I used to love this place, but the food quality and service has gone downhill. We attempted to call in an order before arriving to the restaurant and got placed on hold for over 5 minutes. We arrived and decided to hang up and go inside. There were maybe 3-5 tables with customers and many employees standing around. We ordered the Reuben and it didn't come on marble Rye bread, but a seemingly soggy sourdough. We didn't even eat the once delicious biscuits- they were dry and super small. The fries were good though. Just a side note- leadership might want to check up on the professionalism of the staff in regard to customer escalation (witnessed an unpleasant scene). read more

Foodis not good anymore. Even though the Slaterry family took it over again, the building is still degraded. They own the building but must not wish to freshen it up. The entry point, first glance, is disgustingly dirty. It is nice to have booths but they are degraded too. Upgrade the place or dim the lights if you want it to be a shady bar. read more

We had a 7 pm reservation for three people. When we arrived we were told we may have to wait 30 minutes, but they would text when the table was ready. We tried to get as drink at the bar, but the bartenders were not serving any of the people in line. One hour and 45 minutes later and we have not heard from them. Don't bother making a reservation. I will preface this by saying I have had many memorably pleasant, laid back, never rushed meals at Slatts with both family and friends which is why it was chosen to celebrate a birthday dinner, early evening, October 22, 2025. We were greeted and seated promptly by personable, smiling Madilyn R. The menu had plenty of options for us, 2 teens, 3 adults. Drinks were ordered and arrived quickly. A house specialty martini made with blackberry and peach was delicious and enticing enough to request a second round. Carnitas tacos, chicken strips and burgers were excellent. Fries were fresh, hot and salty. Burgers were thick, juicy and perfectly cooked to order. Madilyn checked in just the right amount of times, always with a smile, relaxed and appearing to enjoy her job, a refreshing and welcomed attitude. The birthday boy received a delicious chocolate cake with fudge sauce and whipped cream along with forks for us all. We also ordered creme brûlée and cheesecake, happy choices. Then a musical bingo game was announced. We're all happy we stayed for that! We sang, marked off the titles, 2 of us won gift certificates for future meals. We all had a really fun time. I really like this restaurant for one reason - it's halibut offering and recipe. I think it's absolutely delicious and NO other restaurants in the area offer a halibut dish. The sides included with the meal and biscuits for the table are pretty good but not outstanding. Again, I love the halibut recipe and the fact this restaurant even has halibut on the menu. it's been awhile since we have been here and we were pleasantly surprised. The food was very good! Always a good time here! They have the best potato wedges and as they say "Risk it for the biscuit".! They also also are known for football season being a Cleveland Browns haven even though we are a Bengals town but it's always great to cheer them on if they aren't playing The Bengals. Absolutely fantastic experience. The staff was super friendly and patient as we asked questions about the menu and took too long to decide. I settled on the pork chops, which were amazing. They were so flavorful that I didn't really use the honey dijon sauce. The spinach is usually sautéed, but I asked for raw with some vinegarette on the side, which was really good. You can't see in this photo, but there are mashed potatoes under the pork chops, and they were great as well. Kudos to our server Andrew for his attentive and patient service! read more

Cockroach on the dining area floor ... bugs in the women's bathroom ... the bathrooms are disgustingly dirty from ceiling to floor and it's really shocking that this place isn't condemned - torn down - and rebuilt into a reputable restaurant, worthy of being in Blue Ash, OH. It has gone way downhill over the years in every aspect and the owners obviously don't care. It's surprising they get any patrons at all. The exterior of what used to be a pretty building, is now looking run down with paint peeling everywhere and obvious eye sore flaws. If the entire building is lacking in cleanliness and care, it's unthinkable what the kitchen must look like and what the food being served is exposed to. Will never go back. read more

We came here for dinner with girlfriends and stayed to play mahjong on a Wednesday night. Wednesday is half price wine bottle night - so, we got a bottle of wine! The server was very good and attentive. She brought the rolls out right away with the butter. She gave us time to think about our order, refilled our water, and split the checks without questioning. I decided to try to Vegan aloveit. It was really good!! It's a great option for those of us who don't eat meat. That and 3 glasses of the Louis Martini red and I was full! If you are looking for a delicious cheeseburger, you've got to check out this restaurant! It was on the Cincinnati burger tour, and it is so good! They have a cheeseburger with goetta, and it's delicious. It was so good that I went back twice within a week!! I love avocado on my cheeseburger, and most restaurants do an up charge for avocado; however, Slatts did not. The number of avocado slices I was given was amazing (sometimes feel like local restaurants give a slim amount and they usually look like they've been sitting out for awhile--not the case here!). It made the burger taste even better. Make sure you get the steak fries with a side of ranch! They have good fries. They do have an area for people to sit at the bar, as well as separate tables near the bar. They also have rooms outside of the main room. This is a great place to have a large party together. I preferred a booth, so they had several of those on the outskirts of the bar. I did make reservations both times before I went, but I was able to get in within 15 minutes. I probably would only order a cheeseburger here. They have lots of options on the menu to please just about everyone in your party... But keep in mind that it is a Pub. They do their hamburger and french fries well! read more

1st time visiting Slatts. Here we go... I enjoy Fish & chips in general and thought I'd try them. I asked my server, forgot his name but he was excellent, how the fried fish was. He gave me an honest and what turned out to be a very accurate description, "breading can be a bit heavy but large portions." I told him portion size not as much a consideration as is flavor quality. The food was as described. Definitely too much breading which retained the grease. The seasoned steak fries were pretty good especially after I took the fish off of them. (Grease from fish started soaking into nicely crisped fries.) After peeling off the bulk of the breading I did have 2 nicely portioned fish fillets. Flakey and moist--tasted good. If the cooks can get the breading buttoned-up, this would be a 4-star meal. (Very good for a neighborhood eatery!) Unfortunately, it was 2 stars. The service was 5-stars from both my young man server and the Hostess, Olivia. On my way out she took time to answer some questions and recommend other options for when I return. As such, I definitely will. Next time, trying the grilled salmon. Aiming to be able to give this place 5-stars. They have the most difficult part down--the people were fantastic! I tried this place for the 1st time, and here are the issues: 1) salad with wilted lettuce 2) extremely greasey burger with grease dripping 3) soggy fries 4) old fashioned was more cherry juice than bourbon 5) everything is terribly expensive. To give credit where credit is due, the beer was great! It came in a can from the brewery and it was cold. Terrible terrible place! If you want a terrible burger, go to McDonalds, it may not be as bad as Slatts, but it will be a lot cheaper. read more

I had lunch here today with my daughter and unfortunately, I don't think I'll be returning. This food just isn't good here. I've given it several tries and they miss the mark every time. We both ordered something off the new lunch specials menu. My daughter ordered a Buffalo Chicken Wrap and I ordered a Pulled Pork Gyro. Both come with chips but we subbed Fries. Thank goodness we decided on those fries because both sandwiches were awful. The gyro had flavorless, cold, dry pork smothered in something that was supposed to be tzatziki sauce. The tomatoes weren't fresh and I pulled them off right away. The lettuce was wilted and soggy. The buffalo chicken wrap was drowning in sauce and was too overwhelming for my daughter to eat. She loves buffalo chicken anything and couldn't eat this sandwich at all. We were so turn off by the food that we didn't even finish the fries either. The server noticed we weren't eating and, after her asking if we were enjoying it, we told her neither of us liked the food and would like the check. She came back with the check and said that the manager had comped most of the bill. We weren't expecting that at all and had every intention of paying for the food. We definitely made up for it in the tip to the server. She did a great job and it wasn't her fault that the food here is terrible. read more

Went on a Saturday evening, wife and another couple. Got there around 7:00pm. Not too busy. Noise level inside was not loud. We sat in the section just before the outdoor patio. Well lit from the house lights as well as the large windows. Gave the feeling of out doors, but not quite there. We had reservations, but looked like we really didn't need them. Waitress was quickly at our table, took our drink orders and answered a couple of questions for us. I ordered the Ribs "Fall off the Bones" sandwich; pulled pork, on a baked baguette, topped with mac' n cheese and coleslaw, served with fries. Now, that is a nice combo! I've had pulled pork with coleslaw on it, but the mac n cheese was a nice touch. Had a "not your Father's Root Beer" for a pre dinner drink. Nice! My wife had the Parmesan encrusted tilapia. She enjoyed it immensely. Sorry folks, I forgot what our friends had, but they seemed to be enjoying their dinner, too. (probably should pay more attention if I'm gonna write reviews, but, was too interested in my own dinner!) Anyhow, service, very good! Selection of beer, good. Food, very good! Ambience, Ok. This one is a hard review! I am almost wanting to give it a 4, but this is hard to do, when you didn't like anything you ordered. Ugh. Service was great! We both couldn't decide between the Buffalo Chicken Nachos or the Potato Puffs, so we ordered both! I was expecting a Buffalo chicken dip type on the nachos, whereas this was more shredded chicken with tobasco sauce on it. Then topped with entirely too much spring mix lettuce! Lettuce on nachos?! The potato puffs were bland, no flavor. I asked why the Rueben was "Famous", I was told because it's the best in Cincinnati and nothing compares. Ordered this and while the flavor was good, the meat was tough. The menu was attractive, many choices to make. I'll try it again sometime. read more

Came in for taco week. I ordered two fish and two carnitas. I also ordered chips and salsa which I assumed would be served ahead of time like an appetizer. They don't do that she said so, I passed when they came out with all our other food. The fish taco had some spice and good crunch but not a lot going on past that. The carnitas taco was moist and tender definitely just ok. They give you two homemade biscuits while you wait. They're very sweet. I got the little guy that was with me the kids portion of chicken fingers and fries. He seemed to enjoy them. Maybe I'll give it another try sometime for a burger or something.
