From the outside it doesn't boast of anything exciting, dull paint envelopes the facade, no signage much even the sign looked like the light burned out. Big boy when you open the door you're greeted by a waft of great smelling brunch food like maple syrup and pancakes. There's no one to greet you, no signage to seat yourself or wait to be seated but if you want to get out of line (don't!) to ask the barista who, even clearly busy, was accommodating to let you know to just get in line and order! There's plenty of seating though! Now on to the food; I got ham and cheese croissant (to go), Yaki omelet sando. I asked if it is good and the cashier said it's the most popular menu item! The omelet sando is delicious: crunchy, salty savory, just perfect with the perfectly toasted sesame sprinkled white toast sandwich! Stopped in on a Saturday around 10:30am and it was packed! The line moved pretty quickly though and they brought everything out to you. 10/10 meal... I had never tried whipped quark before. But I guess it is some type of cheese, like a blend between greek yogurt and cottage cheese. This might be my favorite coffee shop with good food options in the Cincy area! It's in Pleasant Ridge a little north of the downtown area in a very nondescript building. They do have parking across the street, FYI! When you walk inside, it's quite an expansive space with lots of seating! There were lots of people here just working and studying, others having meetings, and some folks just eating and hanging out. Plenty of space for everyone! For drinks I got a Hot Toddy and my wife got a Pecan Latte, both were great! For food I got the a chicken sandwich with bacon. The chicken had this really tasty coffee rub and was perfectly cooked. My wife got a Goetta sandwich on really nicely toasted bread. All in all, the food was great, the drinks were great, the vibes were great. I will definitely be back! read more

We got drinks off the fall menu. We got the Maple Apple Butter Capp and you can taste the maple more than the butter but still really good. We also got the Pear Ginger Vanilla Shrub and it reminds me of a kombucha and it was sooooo refreshing. I got the Brekkie Burg which was 2 smashed patties with cheddar blend, bacon-onion jam, whipped quark, arugula, everything seasoning on a milk bun. It was amazing! I ordered a hot Matcha with oatmilk, which was the perfect blend of earthy but still mild. I do wish they had almond milk as an alternative milk option, but the oat milk drink was great. As I was ordering, I noticed the summer drink specials and I wish I would've tried one of them... They all looked so delicious and unique, especially the watermelon matcha! As a remote employee finding a cute coffee shop that you can come and work in with great food and good coffee is always a win. I am personally more of a tea drinker myself. The matcha drink I tried was a seasonal menu items and more of a spritzer so I would love to try just a plain matcha next time and see how that measures up. The food came out fresh and fast and I do not usually opt for a vegetarian type meal but the fried green tomato biscuit was one of a kind. Sunday. 2 p.m. An 11-minute wait in line--which in burger years is basically an eternity. I had enough time to contemplate life, check my cholesterol, and name all the Kardashians in reverse order. Proud Hound is a super cute spot in Silverton with excellent service and a great ambiance. If you've never gone before, there is ample street parking up and around the cafe, we all found spots easily, but had a walk a bit to get back and forth. It was also quite busy inside, it was a Saturday morning, so it was expected, but the line moved quickly and the food/drink arrived to our table in a short amount of time. My chai latte was incredible, perfectly cinnamon'd, not too hot, and with great flavor. Sadly, I wasn't in love with the biscuit sandwich, it was good, but a bit dry. I think the other bread options would have been a better choice, in hindsight. However, that small concern doesn't make me not want to go back to try other things on the menu...and to get that chai again! read more

This is comfort food heaven with sandwiches inspired by Nashville (hot chicken), Louisville (Hot Brown), Ham & Collards (the South), Montreal (Poutine), France (Croque Madame) and... Cincinnati. Can I give the Ham & Collards 6 stars all by itself?! Those grits were the perfect side to help sop up the toppings that dripped from the sandwich. Came for burger week and ended up ordering from Regular menu because they were sold out of burgers.... This was my 2nd time trying this week so I was bummed. I also tried last year and they were sold out then too so tried a little earlier and a Sunday yet didn't help. I just think they don't prep enough so if trying to do burger week unless you want it at 8am when they open...don't bother. I wish they'd prepare to have more knowing they sell out that quickly. I think it was too salty for my taste and I felt I was just having to down water to get the saltiness out of my mouth. The restaurant is deceiving on the outside. I've driven past so many times and not realized this isn't just a roastery. It has lots of tables and is very open. The menu is full of variety and it'll take a few more visits to find my favorite. I ordered the Cincinnati Love Letter (patty melt with double smashed goetta patties, cheese curd & cheddar blend, white American cheese, house pickles, & whole grain mustard on seasoned white bread). I love Cubans and this sounded like the perfect Cincy-style Cuban. Unfortunately, the pickles are house made and VERY dill forward and the bread seasoning was mostly dill. Dill happens to be the one ingredient, when used fresh that really ruins a dish for me. So although I enjoyed all the other aspects of the sammie(the perfectly toasted bread, the crunch to the fresh pickles, the goetta and cheese deliciousness, the whole grain mustard seeds), I couldn't get through the overwhelming amount of dill in every single bite. I have had Proud Hound coffee before, but this was the first time I've had their food. It is always very busy on weekends, and we went on a Sunday. The line was pretty far back, but it went by relatively quickly - it gave us enough time to look at the menu and decide what we wanted. We grabbed a seat at one of the bars by the window and waited for our food. It took longer than expected. How the place is set up, it feel like it would be more "quick service" since you have to go up to the counter to order, but the wait time is more like a sit down restaurant. The food was good. My partner's chicken sandwich was delicious and I had food envy. My breakfast sandwich was fine, as was the biscuits and gravy. I do really love their coffee - that's the best reason to go. Let me start by saying--this place is so cute! I'm a dog lover, which is what initially caught my attention. I ordered a vanilla latte. My drink was okay due to being way too milky. I complimented the adorable cups and asked if they were inspired by their dog. The lady taking my order chuckled and said, "I don't know, maybe they're just obsessed with dogs," with a bit of an attitude. I smiled and didn't say anything else because it felt awkward. While I was waiting for my drink, I could hear and see her coworker laughing and saying, "Good answer," and then she started laughing and talking about the subject. I'm not sure if they didn't notice me standing there, but it definitely felt uncomfortable. I really wish the experience had been a bit friendlier. The food menu is also really comprehensive - it's not a glass case with dried out crumpets to dunk in your coffee - it's a legitimate lunch destination with a kitchen producing hearty creative meals. You can bring your dog inside, which I think is kind of cool, but if this skives you out, know that most people do not actually take advantage of this (more often then not, there's no dogs to be seen), and there is a clear emphasis on cleanliness here. Parking is easy, and it's worth the trip - stop by for a pink bourbon or a blue matcha and some breakfast or lunch. You'll love it. read more

Loved the atmosphere of the place. The interior is Scandinavian/expressionist artist whimsical, and many people are clustered for brunch groups or solo study. There are some outlets at the window seats and occasionally at the booths, though studiers beware you can only receive the wifi password after noon on a Sunday. Around 2 pm the brunch crowd scattered and there maybe 5 people in the whole place, so it becomes quite peaceful. The blue matcha was sweet and the sweetness maybe clouded the matcha taste a bit, but the bananas foster grilled cheese was soooo yummy and unique. This Pleasant Ridge coffee shop is an absolute vibe. I stopped in on a Tuesday afternoon for a little remote work action, and would definitely do so again! The parking was a little tricky to figure out, but I finally found a sign that said they had a lot down the street a bit. Once I got that all sorted out, there were plenty of parking spaces to choose from. You do have to cross the street to get to the coffee shop, but there's an easy-to-access crosswalk. Proud Hound is known for its coffee, but I'd already had more than enough caffeine by the time I arrived, so I went with a mug of freshly steeped peppermint tea. This was just what the doctor ordered on a cold, January day. The shop wasn't terribly busy -- and there were plenty of outlets available for anyone that needed to plug their devices in. When you place your order, ask your cashier for a Wi-Fi code. They'll print off a special login, that's good for three hours. I think that's absolutely an appropriate amount of time -- and if you're planning on staying longer than that, it makes sense that they'd ask you to purchase something else. Once connected, the Wi-Fi was fast and reliable. I can't wait to return to Proud Hound to sample some of their coffee -- and their food, too! read more

The music is always a great volume that is conducive for both. I truly hate to say it but the only downside is the service.
