Came here for breakfast since they have a dog friendly patio. Nice, clean open big place. You order at the counter then take your beeper and they bring your food and drinks to you. The chai was pretty good. The basic on milk bun was really good with goetta. Biscuits and gravy were so yummy. Strawberry biscuit shortcake was such a unique one but so good.

Proud Hound Coffee is a popular coffee shop known for its southern-inspired brunch menu and quality coffee. They offer plenty of seating, making it a great spot for studying or grabbing brunch with friends. Their menu features a wide variety of options while still keeping the classics. Stop by and check them out if you're looking for a place with something for everyone! The service was great too with the staff being so friendly and kind.

Stopped in on a Saturday around 10:30am and it was packed! The line moved pretty quickly though and they brought everything out to you. I got an iced mocha latte and it was one of the best I've had in the city. I grabbed a pecan sticky bun which was great, but I wish they would've offered to heat it up. It was a great vibe to grab coffee or brunch with friends! Can't wait to go back to try their brunch.

10/10 meal... I had never tried whipped quark before. But I guess it is some type of cheese, like a blend between greek yogurt and cottage cheese. Paired with the brussel sprouts, candied pecans, and apples, it was so delicious. The service at Proud Hound is always good, and I will always love the interior, such a bright and open atmosphere. I love that they also change up their menu as the seasons change... although I wish they made these brussel sprouts a permanent menu item, they were so good!

This might be my favorite coffee shop with good food options in the Cincy area! It's in Pleasant Ridge a little north of the downtown area in a very nondescript building. They do have parking across the street, FYI! When you walk inside, it's quite an expansive space with lots of seating! There were lots of people here just working and studying, others having meetings, and some folks just eating and hanging out. Plenty of space for everyone! For drinks I got a Hot Toddy and my wife got a Pecan Latte, both were great! For food I got the a chicken sandwich with bacon. The chicken had this really tasty coffee rub and was perfectly cooked. My wife got a Goetta sandwich on really nicely toasted bread. All in all, the food was great, the drinks were great, the vibes were great. I will definitely be back!

This was such a nice little coffee shop and fairly spacious inside. They have lots of dog decor inside and really cute merch. They also have fresh coffee beans you can buy and it's a huge variety. We got drinks off the fall menu. We got the Maple Apple Butter Capp and you can taste the maple more than the butter but still really good. We also got the Pear Ginger Vanilla Shrub and it reminds me of a kombucha and it was sooooo refreshing. I got the Brekkie Burg which was 2 smashed patties with cheddar blend, bacon-onion jam, whipped quark, arugula, everything seasoning on a milk bun. It was amazing! We also got the seasonal apple fritters and the sauce wasn't as good as I expected but the fritters were delicious. I can't wait to come back. I love coming to coffee shops that roast their own beans.

    Matcha latte with oatmilk

Proud hound is a stylish and roomy café. I love all the colors and designs used in the decor. There is a parking lot across the street with ample parking and lots of spaces to sit! I ordered a hot Matcha with oatmilk, which was the perfect blend of earthy but still mild. I do wish they had almond milk as an alternative milk option, but the oat milk drink was great. As I was ordering, I noticed the summer drink specials and I wish I would've tried one of them... They all looked so delicious and unique, especially the watermelon matcha! I have heard PH has great food so I hope to be back to eat soon.

We came on a Saturday morning and no crazy line this time! Seating was quite full but we snagged a table inside. My plain latte was delicious and my friends enjoyed their matcha. We decided to try the seasonal Banana Fosters Grilled Cheese, with brie, pecans, banana, and more. It was an interesting combination to try, but I would not order it again.

This place has an amazing patio seating for a coffee shop. There's also plenty of indoor seating options. This is a perfect spot for meet ups, studying, work. I tried their summer cherry espresso tonic that was very refreshing. They also have food menu and bakery selection. We tried their ham and cheese croissant which had a decent amount of filling.

As a remote employee finding a cute coffee shop that you can come and work in with great food and good coffee is always a win. I am personally more of a tea drinker myself. The matcha drink I tried was a seasonal menu items and more of a spritzer so I would love to try just a plain matcha next time and see how that measures up. The food came out fresh and fast and I do not usually opt for a vegetarian type meal but the fried green tomato biscuit was one of a kind. Tomatoes were perfectly fried and the biscuit was layered for a perfect bite. Will definitely be back to this cute coffee shop and probably buy some merch next time.

Food was 9/10 Coffee 10/10 Hot Toddy 10/10 Service 10/10 Seating 4/10 Best suited for a more professional crowd or studying. We visited with my toddler for my birthday after seeing many recommendations. The environment and seating is not great for families. There is somewhat limited parking, we were lucky to grab the last spot. This is a self-serve and self- bus type of situation for water and cleanup. There were lots of folks working on laptops and it is the perfect environment for that!

The food! I had previously only had coffees at Proud Hound, but we decided to go around lunch time so we glommed onto the food menu. If there are biscuits and gravy on any menu, I'll give it a try, so that's what I ordered. Daughter ordered the Krampus Biscuit. And a side of smashed potatoes to share. Wow. My B&G was sooo good. The gravy was perfect, not greasy or flour-y or too peppery. Perfect, as was the biscuit. Daughter's Sammie was outstanding - too big to eat it all so 1/2 came home. Husband devoured it a day later and raved at how delicious it was. Yummy potatoes. Why did we wait so long to try the food?? Oh, our drinks were good too - a hot cocoa and a London Fog (could have been hotter, but I was so immersed in my B&G I didn't care). We sat at a table - pretty full cafe that day. Found street parking across the street. Excellent service.

PH has long been my favorite coffee shop and it still lives up to the hype. Took my toddler today for my birthday lunch and had a mommy and me date. The Lucky Belly grit bowl was delish and I love their smashed potatoes. The Cardi B is also a fav drink here. Everything is always 10/10!

I was here a couple of weeks ago, in town on work, and coming in for lunch because this place was within working distance of the office I was visiting. I love Irish bars, and regularly go to the one nearest me, so I was hoping for a good experience. As I said, the ambiance and decor was at least pretty good, and the food I had was a mushroom Swiss burger which was okay but not exceptional. The problem was the really bad service. I was there at midday for lunch, there were a couple of folks drinking at the bar, and one other table of people seated at around the same time I was. They took more than 5 minutes to simply come and take my drink order. . .and the server had an attitude when I let him know I wasn't there to drink beer. He started by rattling off beer options, and when I asked what soft drinks they had, he told me the soft drinks they had. . .then, dripping with sarcasm, he says "or we could fix you a Shirley Temple" with a really nasty attitude. I ordered my beverage, and when he came back almost 10 minutes later (!) with my drink, I place my food order, which he takes without comment. My food takes over 30 minutes to come out, and he never came back once to check on me, refill my drink or generally do anything. Once I politely asked him about soft drinks, making it clear I wasn't there for beer, it's like he checked out of thinking he had to deal with me. Things were slow before then, but got worse after that. It's not like the place was crowded and he had a lot of tables to deal with. He brought the check back, and he was actually prompt in taking my money for the check. I left, and pretty much had used up my entire lunch hour despite only being right across the street from my office the whole time.

Both were friendly & acknowledged the birthday girl in our party. Atmosphere is great. You could comfortably walk in wearing jeans or come dressed up. Neither would be over or under dressed. The menu has juuuust the right amount of options, which is great! Heather was our waitress & while she was kind, her service skills were lacking. Granted we weren't at a Michelin Star Restaurant, but we also weren't at a dive bar. There was an endless amount of awkward reaching through, over & around when refilling drinks. There were a couple of instances where she actually touched our shoulders to nudge us to the side so she could reach through. Totally not okay during service at a restaurant nicer than a dive bar. We ordered the cheese sticks starter which were so yummy! Highly recommend! A couple of us ordered the Cesar side salad & were highly disappointed. The dressing tasted like it was mayonnaise heavy & then watered down by lettuce that wasn't dried after being rinsed. Even adding tons of extra pepper didn't help. The lettuce also tasted like it has been too wet for too long. The lobster mac was ordered in the group & it was tasty but soooo greasy. So, order with caution. We had the Black N Bleu salad in the group & that was good. The Atlantic Salmon was another dinner ordered & the crust seasoning was delicious! Sadly, the salmon was a bit overdone. It does come with a lobster cream sauce, which confused me. It was only so so & I definitely skipped it entirely. The steamed broccoli was done to perfection though. Not soggy & not too crunchy. We also had the 12oz ribeye & that was great! Flavorful, cooked perfectly! I will add though, that the steak knives need an upgrade. I really wanted to love this place, but we won't return on our next trip to Newport/Cincinnati.

Normally, I find hotel food is just okay and nothing special, but Coppin's was a pleasant surprise. We were greeted by a very friendly hostess, and our equally pleasant server quickly brought menus and asked what we would like to drink. When it was my turn, I happily ordered Coppin's Old Fashioned. I was the odd man out because everyone else ordered the Spring Manhattan. Judging by how quickly everyone's drinks disappeared, I'd say they were all very tasty. I was a little unsure about mine at first, so to make sure the quality and taste were consistent, I ordered a second, and it definitely was not a mistake. I ordered the B+G biscuits (which are made by hand according to server in the hotel) and gravy with an extra egg. Others at the table chose a variety of dishes, including the CVG, Cobb Salad, Bagel and Lox, and several other selections. Based on the clean plates all around the table, everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. My wife ordered a sample of banana bread, and I was fortunate enough to snag a small bite, it was excellent. After we had all finished, everyone agreed that my niece had made an excellent choice for her graduation celebration brunch. As my wife and I made our way back to Louisville, we both commented that we would definitely return the next time we were in Covington.

Going back and forth on stars for this one. Me and around 30 of my coworkers came into town for a…read moretwo day workshop and they got us a room block at this hotel. I ended up being in the North Building and cracked up when I walked into my room and saw I was in one of the Lightwell Lofts (a few of us ended up in them by chance, guess they included them in our room block lol). While the room was super cool and beautiful, there was a lot to be desired. After taking a million photos of the gorgeous room, I quickly realized a major flaw - the bedroom is upstairs, the bathroom is downstairs, and the staircase between the two is a crazy narrow spiral staircase. As someone that gets up to pee in the middle of the night, having to traverse the spiral stairs was terrifying lol. One of my coworkers actually swapped with someone who had a "normal" room because he was worried about falling down the stairs. My downstairs tv wouldn't turn on. I fiddled with the remote a bit, tried rearranging the batteries, but couldn't turn it on. I used the ipad in the room to put in a maintenance request, but no one came. I figured I would just let the front desk know when I headed out to dinner that night. Hours later, the front desk calls me to see if anyone had come to fix the tv - they hadn't. The girl was very nice and apologetic, she said I sent the request in the middle of a shift change and someone had accidentally marked it as complete. So she said someone would be right up, and he did come up. Handed me a handwritten note and a $25 coupon for Coppin's which was totally unexpected and a very nice gesture. Turned out, he knew exactly what the problem was - he said the remote was broken and he was supposed to swap it out but forgot. Gave me a new remote and all was good. He also mentioned there is a second remote upstairs for that tv. After he left, I went to look for it - there was no second remote. We held our meetings in the Scheper Room, which was also beautiful. The room was absolutely freezing the first day and I'm someone that prefers it a touch colder and was uncomfortable. We had to get them to update the thermostat and then in the afternoon it was way too hot. We had food brought in from the hotel and it was all fine, nothing super memorable. There was soup at lunch but the sign didn't even say what it was - just "chef's choice." The Italian hoagies were way too big and needed to be cut in half, I couldn't even finish half of one. The salad with fruit/pecans/etc was my favorite though. They had the completely wrong password on the tables for the Wifi but thankfully we figured it out quickly that we just had to use the room password. The second day for breakfast, there was yogurt on the menu and even on the sign with all the food - but there was no yogurt. Some of my coworkers were specifically asking for yogurt so we had to request it directly because it was included and paid for. Box lunches to take to go on the second day which were fine, I had the chicken caesar salad wrap. Housekeeping didn't come to service my room until 5pm when I was in there getting ready for dinner, so I was not able to get the room serviced. Just asked them for some more coffee. My conditioner in the shower was empty but I didn't bother reporting it after the tv issue and I had my own conditioner with me, so used that. The lotion at the sink was so thick that I could not get it out of the bottle at all, I had to use q-tips to get it out (it was nice quality, just kinda useless if you can't get it out of the bottle lol). Great local offerings on the mini bar and in the fridge. My coworkers and I got a kick out of the "intimacy kits" because we were on a business trip haha. The Magic 8 ball was fun, I loved the conversation cards even though I just read a few of them to myself haha. Even with the bedroom upstairs, it was nice to have the big double closet in the bathroom hallway so I really was just in the loft to sleep and kept all my stuff downstairs. The location is great, lots of fun stuff right nearby. The courtyard is lovely. I would say this is a solid 3.5 stars but since we can't give half stars, I'll give it a 4 because the staff was overall very nice and quickly fixed any issues, just a little annoying that we had any issues at all.
