Busy place with good food! Adds 3% if you pay with a credit (not a debit) card. We got here without a reservation on a Monday around noon (May 2026). While they were busy, we didnt have to wait long for a booth. Our server quickly offered strong hot $4 coffee and a personal teapot to brew our $4 Earl Grey. There were season recipes available, but we found what we wanted on the regular menu. $10 Eggs As You Wish gave us two over-easy eggs, super-crispy hash brown sticks, our choice of slightly-sweet whole grain toast, and a $4 add-on of a savory oatey local pork-beef hash called goetta, much like Maryland's corn-based scrapple. We had more good old breakfast food: a $12 stack of fluffy buttermilk pancakes with whipped butter, light powdered sugar, a maple syrup, with a side of goetta included. Both were breakfasts that were a perfect traditional balance of flavor and texture. We had luscious $14 Smoked Salmon Toast on richly-flavored multigrain toast, made into a crunchy fresh sandwich with caper-dotted cream cheese, crisp cucumber slices, sliced red onion, and tasty microgreens. And we went vegetarian with $11.50 Vegetable multigrain Toast: creamy avocado, thick ripe tomato, pickled red onion, fresh cucumber, thin radish slices, and microgreens All of the food was delicious and creative, and that includes the tasty well-crafted vegetarian offerings. Prices were quite reasonable. The staff was welcoming and attentive. We ate at a leisurely pace with generous coffee refills, and never felt rushed. We envied those who thought to ask for patio-seating. They do add 3% to credit-card payments (not to debit-cards), which is posted so you know ahead of time. I was looking forward to trying Toast & Berry at Liberty Center based on its reputation, but unfortunately our experience was disappointing from start to finish. Our server took an unusually long time to greet us and take our orders. Throughout the meal, we repeatedly had to ask for coffee refills because no one checked back on our table. The lack of attention made what should have been a relaxing breakfast feel frustrating. When my meal finally arrived, the order was incorrect. To the restaurant's credit, they apologized and removed it from the bill, which I appreciated. However, when the corrected order came out, it was cold, suggesting it had been sitting before it was served. To make matters worse, I found a hair in the food, which completely ended my appetite. I appreciate that management attempted to make things right by comping the meal, but good customer service is about more than fixing mistakes after they happen. Slow, inattentive service, incorrect and cold food, and a sanitation issue made this a very disappointing first impression. I hope the restaurant takes this feedback seriously because it has the potential to be much better than what we experienced. read more

And we ordered a side of the Hash Brown Squares to share. We do this every time and it's always too much food. But those hash brown squares are so dang yummy! We both enjoyed our lunch. My daughter got her temps at the BMV across the street and we wandered over for brunch to celebrate. Generally my pescatarian kiddo is relegated to only the sweet dishes on a brunch menu, but Toast and Berry had plenty she could try! The food here is absolutely fantastic--one of the best places to eat in town. Unfortunately, the biggest drawback is how poorly the waitlist is managed. My wife and I have often decided against dining here simply because of the frustration with the system. On several occasions, we've seen walk-ins seated ahead of those already on the waitlist. Even worse, the notifications are inconsistent: we'll receive a message saying our table will be ready in 10 minutes, only to get another update pushing the wait back by 30 minutes. At that point, we usually head to another restaurant, only to receive a message minutes later that our table is suddenly ready. Because of this, the restaurant ends up sending a lot of business across the street to the Original Pancake Factory. If they could get their waitlist process under control, this place would truly be unbeatable. If you want something similar I would highly recommend LaPeep and they can manage a wait list. read more

The hashbrown squares were okay. If i get them again I'll probably get them cooked longer as they just weren't as crispy as i prefer. They did come with a sauce that was okay. It taste like burger sauce and surprisingly wasn't bad with the hashbrowns. The mimosas were also good though a little too sweet for me. The raspberry was my favorite one. I can't believe it took me so long to try this place! The prices are a little steep but so are most brunch places these days. I loved everything I had but my favorites were the fresh squeezed lemonade (with raspberry!), chicken hash bowl, and the cinnamon streusel pancakes.
