What a great place! The atmosphere is really fun and bright and colorful. Very cool vibes ! For the donut selection, it was out of this world. You simply could not be disappointed with how many options they have. They have cake donuts and yeast donuts. The specialty donuts included an apple fritter that was the size of my head! This is such a neat place! My husband and I had to make a Costco run this morning and I told him I wanted a donut, so we decided to stop in at Hurt Donuts. I was in awe and overwhelmed at the same time. The first thing I saw were these giant pastries that need 2-4 people to eat. Yet they looked so amazing I almost wanted one for myself. When we told the employee it was our first time there, she explained to us that the next case was the cake donuts and the one on the other side of it was the yeast donuts. There were so many options! I really had a hard time choosing just 1 donut! In the end, my husband got a chocolate covered chocolate cake donut and I got the ET donut (a yeast donut with chocolate icing and Reese's Pieces on it). Hubs also got a coffee and I got a bottle of juice. They also have fountain sodas and ice cream. The decor inside of super cool! We were impressed by the brass knuckle coffee mugs. Wow! We decided to stop by after looking at other Yelp reviews. And we were not disappointed. They have a lot of choices and it was hard to decide. We ended up wanting to try some typical favorites and a couple special ones. We got the old fashioned, classic glazed, chocolate mint and red velvet with cream cheese. They were all great. The staff is very nice and put up with the extra time we needed to look at everything in the case. Inside is very cool. There is a counter where you sit in swings (bolted to the ground). Finally!! A cafe that's open late (and they sell amazing donuts!) This place is open 24/7, so I was skeptical of how full and fresh things would be. We went around 9pm. We were the only customers so we did not have to wait, and they had an entire case full of fresh and delicious donuts. Classics, fun ones, cream filled, jelly filled, giant cinnamon rolls... My favorite is maple, so I had to try the maple bar (or long John, depending where you're from), and it did not disappoint. Fresh and flavorful, great size and value for money. I did learn that either half a donut or share one between people is probably the move to avoid sugar overload. They have nutrition information available on the website. The vibe is cool, lots of fun artwork and even some swing chairs inside. There is also outdoor seating when the weather is nice. My only critique is that they do not sell tea, only coffee drinks. I got the chocolate shake and it quickly was taken by my girl. It was delicious. For $10 you can pick any donut they have and blend it up into a shake. They add vanilla ice cream as a base and then top your milkshake with the donut you picked out! It's definitely a lot for $10, but so good. and by the end of it you might even regret the deliciousness you scarfed down. Because man It hit my stomach. The donut on top seals the deal though. The donut isn't fully blended so it add some nice texture to the shake. As for the fruity pebble shake, it was not as flavorful. Don't think it's a very popular one, pebbles tasted kinda stale. I tried two cake donuts, The Brownie and The Chocolate Birthday Cake. I didn't think either of mine were stale at all. They were very moist and delicious! I also tried The Twix, which is a yeast donut, and it was extremely fresh, fluffy, and rich. They also have a nice coffee selection with lots of fun flavor options. I ordered a large Iced S'mores latte. It didn't have a super strong coffee flavor, but it was sweet and creamy. I also love how they use pebble ice for their cold drinks! My only complaint is that a dozen donuts and four coffees for $50 is a bit steep. However, the freshness of everything and the excellent service made the price worth it. I love to visit places that live up to the hype and add Hurts donuts to that list! I know when it first opened they had long lines but I recently went at an off time and only had to wait for one other customer. The donuts are delicious and they also sell HUGE cinnamon rolls and other items. Add this to your donut, rotation, it's worth it!! Personally my favorite was the red velvet donut. "Hurts So Good" John Cougar Mellencamp It was an ordinary, bitter cold January, Wednesday afternoon. About 3:00 PM To be exact. The second you walk in and are directed around the corner to the serpentine line of donut devotees, you immediately forget the single digit temperature outside because this new spot is HOT! They're on fire 'cuz they gots the goods! Inside has moderate seating, so grab a spot quickly. Among the colorful ice cream parlor style chairs, tables, and hi-tops, they have a wall with swing seats up to a built-in table shelf. The staff were all very friendly. The line moved moderately fast. I was maybe 15 people deep ad that took about 15-ish minutes to get through. I'll have more on this, coming up, in the Pro Tip section. But up next, we got to get to the goods. And good they are. My order: Old Fashioned ×2 Glazed Round Bavarian Cream Mint Oreo™ Chocolate Cake Round Glazed Red Velvet Cake Round Apple Fritter Chocolate Chip Cookie Total: $26.50 is I sat down and sampled* a few. First up, Bavarian Cream Round. Goodness all around. Could have used a touch more cream. But, dee-li-pious! Next up, Old Fashioned Round. Moist, sweet, and just the right amount of crunch and pull to it. Not dry and crumbly. They do have a full hot and iced coffee bar, including many flavor options along with fountain drinks. On the counter, I spotted bags of their own House Coffee to take home. I did not partake in any beverages on this visit. At home, the true sampling continued. Mint Oreo™ was good. Glazed Round was excellent. Cookie was good. Keep in mind, though - CCC's can be made a million different ways. If we're being honest, we all have a specific CCC that we prefer. So you'll either love it, hate it, or anywhere in between. The Apple Fritter was a tough judge. It was good, and it's truly a shareable item for normal people. But maybe it's too big. I found it was lacking that real hit of gooey chunky apple-y splodhes on the top, just under that subtle, almost brulee crunch type of glaze. I wood say it was a good Fritter. But if you're a member of the globally sanctioned International Fritter Fanatic Federation**, you might not deem it great. What it is great for is a coffee get-together. Grab a Fritter and a Cinnamon Roll, and you'll be the hit of the party. Would I go back? Oh, yeah. It's nowhere near me, but it is close to where I get my hair cut. I always like to bring the girls donuts when I go in. This'll be a good secondary option. If you've ever read any of my donut shop reviews before, you know I take Donuts very seriously. Almost too seriously. Hurts even got my 5th Star that I don't simply toss around to just any old donut shack. That said, my litmus test staple is a chocolate frosted vanilla cake donut. That is my star test right there. You're not going to find many "basic" donuts here. You'll find a lot of fancy, themed and clever donuts with a few standards mixed in. Also, I believe they're a 24/7 shop. I guarantee a past midnight visit in the near future and post some pics to prove it. Pro Tip: This is for the guy who waited in line as long as the rest of us and decided to have a spa day picking his order out. Obviously, there's a lot to choose from. It can be overwhelming. That really wasn't the issue here. This guy was taking pictures of the counters, texting them to his family and / or his friends, and waiting for their responses on what they wanted him to bring back. He also seemed to know the guy behind the counter that was serving him, so there was a bit of friendly banter chitchat while he was waiting for his text responses. In total, he took just over 10 minutes to pick his order. Not cool when you've got a serpentined line going throughout the entire place of people behind you, knowing what they're going to get who are ready to go. The point? You're going to be in line. Take that time and use it to your advantage. Be ready when you get to that counter and know what you want. * - Sample meaning ate both of those donuts completely. Don't judge me! You try not to eat them! ** - The I.F.F.F., or I triple F, or I F³, does not really exist. Until Scorsese makes a movie about it, anyone who claims to be part of any such NON EXISTING organization is talking out of their donut hole. Got it? Those are hard-working guys who work in sanitation or for the city water department....or construction. Capiche?!?! Bit of a line (moves pretty fast though) but likely due to initial opening weeks. Bonus is it's open 24/7 and they have more options than any place in the area. Win. Everything is fresh and handmade. Seating inside is ample and there are swings for seating which is helpful for kids (and adults too!). Drive thru was open but most people went inside. Slightly on the pricier side-- 5$ for an apple fritter! They also have ice cream if you aren't into donut indulgences but prefer a frozen treat. This place is legit! We came here for Valentine's Day to treat our office and this place didn't disappoint. Your inner kid will be very happy you came in. They have an amazing donut selection, cinnamon rolls, cookies, icecream and even espresso drinks. We got 6 dozen donuts and a few drinks. The cherry old fashion was my favorite. Their coconut is a little weird so that's our only complaint. All the other flavors sooooooo good. Also wish the swing chairs would actually swing lol but I understand why.
