I'd swing by here for a donut, or for catering a funeral in the future. I tried Kelly's Bakery while on the Donut Trail. Saturday morning of Father's Day, my husband and I decided to take our DT list and go around with our daughter and try most of the shops listed. This was one of the stops on the Donut Trail. This ended up being our first stop of the afternoon. I thought the donut would have been pretty good, because when we arrived there was a small line inside. However, I was disappointed and not that impressed with the donut we tried from here. The first leg of the trail our daughter was sleep and it was raining outside, so I sent my husband in to grab any donut for us to try. He told the lady it was his first time and asked what she suggested. She suggested the Strawberry Cake Donut with Cream Cheese Frosting so he went for it. While on the trail we only got one donut per shop. This was the first stop and we had 6 more to go. From every location we tried something different. Neither my husband or I were impressed with the donut we had from this location. It tasted very artificial and standard. I did not get the homemade vibe. We took a couple of bites and tossed it. Overall, we weren't impressed by our first visit to Kelly's Bakery. We will have to go back another day and try something different to verify if it's her overall products that are lacking or if it's just that one particular donut. read more

On the seventh stop of the Butler County donut trail, I went to Kelly's Bakery. Taking a look at the case, they had quite the variety to choose from that my friend and I had trouble trying to decide on which donuts to get. We decided, in the end, we would get the fruity pebbles, smores, & pumpkin spice donut. The fruity pebbles donut was mixed, being on the cusp of being fresh cereal and stale, which made it still edible, but still not the best that it could have been. The smores donut was definitely the best donut we got there, with plenty of graham cracker & mini marshmallows on top to always get the full taste of a smores in every bite of our donut. The pumpkin spice donut had a vanilla frosting with a cinnamon drizzle on top that was definitely a nice touch and delicious. I would be inclined to try this again and see what some of their other donuts tasted like. They definitely have a good amount of choice there. read more

We walked into Kelly's Bakery, and we were so excited. We saw Buckeye Donuts, S'more, AND Fruity Pebbles. I wanted them all. There had looked to be a camera crew inside as we walked up, so we weren't sure if it was okay to walk in, but we were glad we did...until the staff informed us that these donuts were STAGED. The film crew was there to film a family experiencing the donut trail, and these donuts had been set aside for them specifically. So, that was SUPER disappointing, and I left feeling a little frustrated and confused. I wonder if they will air this as a segment purporting to offer this variety of donuts when really that's not representative of their typical offering. Or is it, and we just arrived after they'd mostly been cleared out? I was way over-thinking these donuts. Anyways, we went with the comparatively lackluster Apple Fritter and Fried Croissant. The fritter was good [and large!] - crispy on the outside and soft inside with a butter and cinnamon flavor. My husband liked the fried croissant, but I wasn't the biggest fan. It was $3.00 total for these two items. Man, that initial disappointment was hard for me to get over! read more

Stopped here because of the doughnut trail. What a pleasant surprise. We bought glazed doughnuts and while a standard item they can either be very good or blah. Kelly's has a great glazed doughnut, it was fresh and light and no taste of 'old fry oil'. We also purchased a cream filled doughnut and it too was tasty. We will be visiting here again. the prices are very reasonable. read more

I love this joint. Their selection is fantastic. The mixed dozen special is only 11$ Also, they have a selection of cookies and candies. The coffee station that they have set up is convenient. I will definitely be back to try their Smores and Oreo donuts! Side note: the location is nice and the bakery is very well kept and bright. Love it!!! read more

Kelly's is definitely one of the best stops on the Doughnut Trail. I recommend a long John or apple fritter.

Kelly's Bakery is famous for its creative fun donuts like the birthday cake above or the Buckeye below. At Kelly's we were also treated to Kelly's Bread which was my first experience with a donut of this kind. It's a perforated donut that is meant to be eaten with a friend and has literal perforations so it can be pulled apart. Expect to be licking your fingers clean of the cinnamon drizzled icing. In addition, Kelly has some fun specials like Tiger Tails only available Thursdays and apple fritter bites only available on Friday's. read more

Ordered a cake and cookies Mother's Day weekend. The cookies were for my daughters school and we received them no problem, the cake was suppose to be picked up may 29, after the cake maker called and said please text some ideas for the pirate cake you would like and we will make it, cake guy responds these are great pictures we will make it happen. My wife and son who's birthday said cake was for go to pick it up and it's not here, rude employee calls cake guy and he says because we did not give deposit no cake was made. Not once did anyone say needed a deposit nor did they call saying hey we forgot to collect a deposit for a $40 cake. We would have gladly paid in full if needed. As my son basically started crying because his pirate birthday cake was not there not one employee tried to make it right or even give some sort of apology. We were very frequent customers and could never say enough good things about the place, no more wouldn't recommend them for anything as they won't own up to their mistake. read more

I have been coming here for a long time, but most recently I came in and ordered the same donuts I always get. Unfortunately, the size of the donuts have shrunk, but the price has not shrunk. There is definitely a very notable size difference in the donuts. There also wasn't much cream inside the stuffed donuts. I was very disappointed, especially for what I paid. Also, it was only 6:30 am and the stock was already running low. I didn't get what I originally wanted as another customer was ordering the exact same thing with another staff member, even though I was ahead of her in line. I have been here several times and I always received great, fresh tasting donuts and quality customer service. I have even placed an advanced order before, HOWEVER, today was different. I placed an advanced order for a birthday to be picked up this morning and the order was not done! I even called back to add to the order in plenty of time to complete. I was just told, "We had the order but the baker's from last night just didn't do it." A ruined birthday for a special seven year old for sure. It's a little difficult to come up with Plan B at 6:30am. Highly disappointed. I'm guessing they didn't need my business after-all. How do you not do an order that was placed by phone a week ago then changed and confirmed two days later? It's like going to your reception and finding out your wedding cake is not there.
