I tried Ross Bakery while on the Donut Trail. Saturday morning of Father's Day, my husband and I decided to take our DT list and go around with our daughter and try most of the shops listed. This was one of the stops on the Donut Trail. Ross Bakery was simple and their options were a little slim. However, they have a very tasty Smiley Face Cookie and chocolate donut. While on the trail we only got one donut per shop. It doesn't sound like a lot but go to 8 donut shops in one day and see how you feel at the end. Lol. We ordered a Chocolate Donut with Chocolate Icing, with chocolate sprinkles and chocolate chips from this location. Can you say chocolate overload?! Oh yeah! From every location we tried something different. This donut was different and yummy! I normally wouldn't go for a chocolate donut unless it's a cake donut, but this one was good. I also liked the toppings. It had a nice crunch. My favorite donut is a chocolate iced with sprinkles so the one we ordered was basically that but had chocolate chips and a chocolate base. The donut was good and tasted homemade. It was fresh and I enjoyed the chocolate chips as a nice addition. They also have cookies and other little items. My daughter wanted a Smiley Face Cookie. I thought ahh it's your typical store bought cookie. However, I was wrong. It was actually really good. I tasted a small piece and it was flavorful and the cookie was very soft. Yummy! HORRIBLE customer service 3 times in a row .So I had to stop going .Very rude woman .I asked her about the dollar glazed .She said they had none ,I step aside to decide what u want .She waited on two customers after me who asked the same and she sold them some for 1 dollar .I said okayyyyyyyy lol .Every time it's a "what do you want ????" Kind of attitude.it's so close to my house but I'm over it .Small businesses want customers but they need to learn some people skills .FYI this was a couple of years ago .The rudeness is a no for me . read more

I was shocked to see this place was opened on Memorial Day, so I hit this up as stop #4 on the Butler County Donut Trail. One thing I noticed was that there wasn't a huge amount of donuts on display, but I assumed that was due to the holiday. I got three donuts, the vanilla glazed cake, the caramel cake, and the pretzel shaped donut. The taste of the caramel glaze seemed like it was burnt caramel and I didn't finish the donut. The vanilla glaze was the opposite experience as it tasted wonderful and I scarfed it down. The pretzel donut is a regular donut dough made into a pretzel shape, cooked, and glazed. This was, shockingly, very fresh and wasn't stale and I really enjoyed it! The cost was $4.50 for these donuts, so I assume that the pretzel donut was a majority of that, seeing as that donut was bigger than my hand! I definitely suggest getting the pretzel donut as you can share that and enjoy sharing a massive donut with a couple friends! read more

Stopped in to pickup a few dozen doughnuts for work. Had to wait in line outside due to Covid and 4 customer policy. It was well worth the wait! I purchased three dozen mixed doughnuts and they were fabulously delicious. A great mixture and variety of doughnuts. I also got a small bag of doughnuts holes for myself and they are incredible. The strawberry and the blueberry ones were amazing. Customer service was fast and friendly with a smile. I highly recommend this place without even trying one of their fancy doughnuts, which look absolutely amazing! The chocolate iced with fresh strawberries looks mind blowing! They are on the Doughnut Trail and deservedly so. read more

Decided to try this place as I was on the West side of town running some errands. It was around 10 AM on a Saturday morning. I got a dozen donuts with a mixed variety, 4 round glazed, a few Bavarian creme filled, a few white creme filled, some glazed twist and a couple chocolate iced cake. The glazed were just ok as were the creme filled, not very good at all but the chocolate iced cake were some of the worst donuts i have ever had. It was like they were a week old, hard and dry and crumbly. These were some of the worst donuts I have ever ate! On top of that when I asked how much I owed for them, the woman counted them up and then said, that will be $21.00! Are you kidding me, i was buying donuts, not Ribeyes! Do yourself a favor and visit a real donut shop like Jupitor Donuts in Fairfield! They have amazing fresh donuts that are affordable and some of the best in the State of Ohio in my opinion. There is really no comparison! These donuts really really sucked! read more

Surprised to see so many low reviews! My local donut shop. The specialties here are the large glazed donuts( pro tip- microwave them 10 seconds when you get home!) I enjoy the chocolate covered custard filled, the clunker, and fried danish. Get there early for the best selection. Like many of the best donut shops they can sell out of certain types. read more

Paid $4 for two doughnuts. One a custard filled and the other a yeast with icing and a blueberry filled hole. The custard filled doughnut was average the blueberry doughnut -they call a headlight- was lacking flavor and the icing was 'lardy' (too much solid shortening used!) tasting. The counter help was not the friendliest and other than a smallish selection of doughnuts I only saw some iced smiley face cookies. I would call this a doughnut shop not a bakery. The price paid is not worth the quality of the doughnuts I had. read more

I special ordered an Ohio state birthday cake and cookie for my sons 13th birthday party The night before I was suppose to pick them up I got a call at 9pm that what I ordered was not available She told me they were going to Walmart at 7am to get an Ohio state kit and she would call me when it was done I called at 12:30 the next afternoon and my cake and cookie were still not done I finally am able to pick them up Ohio State colors in case anyone is wondering is red grey and white The cake was white and red The cookie just had my sons name in the middle of the cookie That all being said it was what it was So now we are at party cutting cookie and it's burnt Cut the cake the middle of the cake is raw!!!! It took three days to get ahold of the owner She had me bring the items back in when I get in she takes the cookie and throws it to the trash said she's not questioning the cookie (which tells me she already knew it was burnt) she wanted to see the cake she said that it was not raw it's where the white cake mixed with chocolate (sorry to say that was raw!!!) she refunded my money but not after a nasty attitude!!! She said they would never make cakes me for again We have bought from here before there donuts are amazing but with the attitude I received we will never be back All we wanted was the wrong to be made right without attitude it's not like we ate half the cookie and cake other than a few pieces that had been ate of we took the whole things back!!! read more

Apple fritter is 8/10, cinnamon roll looking on was a solid 7. It wasn't good until I reach the middle. Nice woman working, a little pricey but that's because it's good ingredients and they need to cover it. It was $9.50 for four doughnuts and no tax. I am pleased. read more

I go to this bakery every other Saturday to treat work employees to the very best donuts ever. It is more expensive , but the donuts are twice the size of what any grocery store would make, and they are made fresh daily. Every time I bring them in someone always asks where in the world did I get such big donuts. The cakes are even better. We get all of our cakes from them , YUMMMMM !
