So I stopped in for my last check in for the donut trail. My BFF and I ordered a peaches and cream hand pie. Which was super yummy by the way. The service was wonderful and very helpful. I will say we got her around 9am on a Wednesday and they had some donut holes left and maybe 5 donuts and 10 hand pies. So come early if you want to try something. They open at 3am and can sell out fast. The place is small maybe enough room for 8 people to stand inside shoulder to shoulder. So it isn't big. But my hand pie was worth it. I've never been here before but heard good things about the glazed donuts. I don't know if they had sold a lot that morning or not, but they didn't have much of a selection when I was there. I got a glazed and a chocolate frosted. The glazed was awesome. It's my new favorite glazed donut. I'd definitely go back for that. Long time donut lover here, The blueberry cake donut was different! The texture of it wasn't like the usual cake you'd expect; it was more sponge-like texture. It couldn't hold up it's shape and became oval. The flavor was a little different as well. Even though the sweetness level was slightly too much, I found it interesting to try out a different blueberry cake donut. The establishment had 6 seats and there's plenty of parking. The Donut Spot is a very popular donut shop in Fairfield. When we got there the line was out the door, and I overheard some of the seemingly regulars commenting that it's always like that. I mean, the place is tiny so it doesn't take much to get a line that extends past their door, but people were saying it sometimes extended out down the sidewalk as well. I'm not a huge fan of donuts but I'll give it to the Donut Spot..they do serve up a pretty good one. I ordered one with chocolate icing and vanilla filling..it was quite tasty. The vanilla filling was super super sweet. The staff was nice and kept the line moving pretty steadily, and we did even get to sit down inside and eat since their very limited seating was open when we checked out. You can see why a little donut shop like this is so busy. Probably one of the better donut shops in the Fairfield/Hamilton/West Chester area. read more

A friend of mine bought in a few glazed donuts from this shop to work. She offered a taste to me and I declined. She gave me a look that indicated I should reconsider. I took half of a glazed. After one bite I wanted the other half. They were the best glazed donut ever. They were tender, light and not overly sweet. I live 25 minutes from Fairfield but I decided that day I was going for myself the coming weekend. I made the trip. They were sold out except for blueberry and orange juice cake donuts. On our final stop at the donut trail, we hit up the Donut Spot. Taking a look at the donuts they had, it was standard fare donuts, but they had a good quantity of them, and judging by the line, people liked them just as well. Here, we got a regular glazed, a strawberry glazed & a peanut butter filed Chocolate glazed. The regular glazed was a nice soft donut, while the strawberry glazed didn't have that much strawberry flavoring in the glaze, which felt off-putting. The peanut butter filling in the chocolate glazed donut was weird. It wasn't a super creamy peanut butter filling, but it wasn't a hard peanut butter that I usually taste in donut fillings. It was a good flavor, but didn't feel like it was 100% what should have been inside the donut. This place, I will admit, must be a staple in the town's donut intake as the cashiers were super friendly with all the locals that came in for donuts. While I didn't get that treatment, it is good to know that they are part of the community. These donuts are alright, could use a little improving, but they do the job. read more

Their simple donuts are simply delicious. First ask if they have apple fritters. They go fast. Second, get some glazed twist donuts -- a good gauge of how good their products really are. Don't leave without a chocolate frosted, custard-filled donut. Although their chocolate frosting looks a bit pale and not glossy, it is excellent frosting with rich chocolate flavor. You can call ahead and have your order ready. And it's not a misprint -- they really do open at 3 am. By 8:30 or 9 they are starting to run out of some varieties. We have never scored apple fritters after 9 unless we ordered them ahead. It's absolutely worth a weekend donut run! read more

Located in a strip mall, this was a basic donut shop with a lackluster interior. We arrived around 11:00 AM, and the selection was pretty limited. However, their donuts were - in the words of my husband - top notch. They were still warm and very soft. I selected the Glazed Twist, which was practically falling apart [in a good, delicious way], and my husband had the Chocolate Iced, which he really liked. Great place to pick up a dozen. Ya gotta get there early. They close at noon and are usually sold out about 1030. Good flavor and good taste to all their offerings. My wife lets me go there twice a week and I praise her for that many times. The only way it will be a bad visit is if you get there too late! Enjoy. read more

The nurse recommended it and I do too! I bought a variety and tried the: chocolate covered/sprinkles, glazed twist & chocolate covered- All delish. My favorite was Glazed Twist.YUM!! Talk about nostalgia. I remember going into the Donut Spot as a little girl with my dad. He would come and pick me up, and we'd walk into the store as I was bouncing happily behind him. I knew that I was going to get a figure 8 donut and a chocolate milk, and I'd be content for the rest of my day. Fast forward to adulthood, and I still found myself bouncing happily through their doors the other day. I passed up the chocolate milk, but I did order one of those memory inducing figure 8 donuts. I am a self admitted donut fanatic, and it takes a lot for me to not turn up my nose at a place. Krispy Kreme has always been my go to spot, but the Donut Spot is very easily a close second. The selection is good, but get their early because you'll miss out if you don't! They close around noon, and it's because they open preeeetty early in the morning to start making their fresh donuts. I ordered more than a dozen the other day, and although we are starting to eat healthier... I have to admit, we wiped out the entire box in one day. YUM. These donuts are the type that you can dip in a glass of milk and they still keep their glazy sweetness while holding onto that milk. I am seriously contemplating staying up until they open or getting up super early so I can go get some now. NOM. I've lived in Fairfield for three years and just got in to The Donut Spot a few weeks ago. It was everything I'd heard and more. The ladies behind the counter were super friendly, patient, and accommodating. I had my eldest daughter with me, and they let her look at all the donuts and pick the one she wanted (not the speediest exercise). I chose the rest of our dozen, making a few time-tested choices and letting the lady pick the rest. All were excellent. I noticed that the "plain" glazed donuts are bigger than many of the others we got. I think that was cake vs. dough, but I'm not sure. Regardless, we crushed the whole box in a weekend.
