Talk about nostalgia. I remember going into the Donut Spot as a little girl with my dad. He would come and pick me up, and we'd walk into the store as I was bouncing happily behind him. I knew that I was going to get a figure 8 donut and a chocolate milk, and I'd be content for the rest of my day. Fast forward to adulthood, and I still found myself bouncing happily through their doors the other day. I passed up the chocolate milk, but I did order one of those memory inducing figure 8 donuts. I am a self admitted donut fanatic, and it takes a lot for me to not turn up my nose at a place. Krispy Kreme has always been my go to spot, but the Donut Spot is very easily a close second. The selection is good, but get their early because you'll miss out if you don't! They close around noon, and it's because they open preeeetty early in the morning to start making their fresh donuts. I ordered more than a dozen the other day, and although we are starting to eat healthier... I have to admit, we wiped out the entire box in one day. YUM. These donuts are the type that you can dip in a glass of milk and they still keep their glazy sweetness while holding onto that milk. I am seriously contemplating staying up until they open or getting up super early so I can go get some now. NOM. I've lived in Fairfield for three years and just got in to The Donut Spot a few weeks ago. It was everything I'd heard and more. The ladies behind the counter were super friendly, patient, and accommodating. I had my eldest daughter with me, and they let her look at all the donuts and pick the one she wanted (not the speediest exercise). I chose the rest of our dozen, making a few time-tested choices and letting the lady pick the rest. All were excellent. I noticed that the "plain" glazed donuts are bigger than many of the others we got. I think that was cake vs. dough, but I'm not sure. Regardless, we crushed the whole box in a weekend. Teens come before the place even opens and start forming a line out the door. The donut spot allows five people to enter at a time to control the flow. There's about 36 people in line this morning. This is my first time coming to the donut spot this early. I'm here with my youngest stepdaughter this go around. I am told, and I have read, that the line moves pretty fast. They appear to be known mostly for their glazed donuts, but I have heard some good things about their blueberry doughnut. One of their most popular donuts is a peanut butter and chocolate donut. We did the "Doughnut trail" and really enjoyed this one. It is definitely a place to go early though as the line is long on the weekend!

I worked for Graters bakery and got freeshit and would still stop in the morning and get these. Hands down best Donuts around. The only reason the other places exist, this places does not advertise or expand. If you're an early bird, I'd recommen going 2-3a.m.ish. Theres a bunch of Students from local High Schools who meet up and hang out until this place opens then they back the line up for awhile. 2-3a seems to be when the line not down the building anymore. I get plain old twist glazed and they've got the perfect proportions of everything donut. The glaze is actually somewhat crunchy as opposed to that slimeyshit every other places does. Pros- Deliciousness. Price. Location. Variety. John always dressed as the worlds ugliest donut Salesman. The Ladies are friendly as long as you dont sit on the tabletop. Typically a good choice around 1 AM to get donuts from " The D-spot". Everyone who I've ever seen at the register has been super nice and energetic. I came today, at 11 AM, an hour before close and I saw that the stock was dwindling, so if you want a certain type go early! Overall it's a cute place and has good service though, the donuts are pretty good but nothing overly spectacular. You can't beat the prices though! I got 2 donuts and a drink for $3. read more

I had heard so many great reviews of this place, so I made it a point to stop by. I came in at 10am, they close at 12pm. The line at that hour was still pretty long and consistent, but the donuts are well worth it. I got 4 donuts and a chocolate milk for $5, and it's an expense I don't regret making. Best Donuts Ever!!! I did not know that this little donut bakery was around until a coworker brought in some of their donuts a couple years ago. Since then, I have been a loyal donut spot customer. Their pricing is equal to that of Dunkin Donuts, however, their donuts are twice the size, seriously! I now use the Donut Spot for all of my work events as well as for morning treats for my family occasionally. The staff are very friendly, and fast. The recent Yelp "Dunks Your Donut" feature failed to recognize this hidden gem of deep fried, glazed goodness hidden in a non nondescript strip mall. The Donut Spot quietly goes about its business making some seriously good donut standards. Not sure exactly how early they are open, but when they are baking they are open which is before 4:00am when I've been out for an early morning run. On occasion I bring a few dozen into the office and have co-workers now crave them and will drive from 30 minutes away to get their fix on the weekends. Favorites are their cream filled as they are full of rich/sweet filling versus some places who may provide a fraction of filling. read more

This is what I have to say about the Donut Spot. My son and his friends go to the donut spot at least 4 times a week to get there donuts. Well on this particular night when my son and his friends came into the store and was treat very abusively. The owner smacked the brim of my son's hat only because he laughed at her for being so rude and disrespectful by calling them names because they have a 5 person rule of only 5 people in the store at once. There was 5 in and 3 of them where leaving. I feel that she shouldn't have touched my son or called him and his friends names. No apology's were given and the Fairfield police really was not much help. Needless to say... the donuts are good but bad customer service. read more
