Ceylon black milk tea 50% sweet wasn't bad, still on the sweeter side though. Went for the grass jelly since not every place has it, but it wasn't really up to par. It broke into a bunch of little chunks and was more sweet than any other flavor it normally would have. Would go again, but to try the milk tea with a different topping. read more

Comparable to their original Hyde Park location, I am a sucker for Milk Jar and continue to pray they'll find their way to the Eastside. Or, maybe my wallet would rather they stay central. Black ceylon milk tea with milk cap and boba fill my soul with happiness. Part dessert part drink, the milk cap is literally the "Cherry on top." Boba here is great quality. I love tapioca boba and appreciate the hard work that goes into creating the perfect chewy boba. I originally ordered a taro bubble tea, but the young lady working kindly explained that they use a taro paste in the cup that some don't care for. She let me try it before ordering, so I changed to Thai instead. I appreciate her explanation so I could adjust. The Thai tea was okay - very strong flavor, almost coffee like. I've been to Milk Jar several times before. I love their rolled ice cream, especially the Oreo Matcha one. Their Boba drinks are good, however, they use a lot of heavy cream. Probably more than half of your drink is heavy cream... the regular jasmine milk tea is good, if you are able to forget that it is full of heavy cream... the Matcha latte was not very good, too rich in heavy cream... otherwise a great spot to come to from time to time, unless you don't mind clogging off your arteries. I do love their fruit teas, and will probably stick to those, given that they are healthier. I always order them with 25% less sugar and less ice. read more

I went in today (5/23) and had a horrible experience. There were two girls and a guy working. When I walked in with a friend a girl worker was on the other side of the counter talking with the man and proceeded to walk back around when we walked in. Milk Jar is a place that I was excited for but eventually after three tries, won't go back to again. The teas are really watered down, the matcha is way to low quality and grittily, and the bingsu doesn't have the flavor like it's supposed to. It's almost like they took a quality boba shop with dessert, and watered everything down. I have been wanting to try this place for a while now since I love bubble tea. I finally went a few weeks ago. I got a strawberry oolong tea with popping boba. It was decent, although I've definitely had better and it wasn't worth almost $7. There were two employees in the store. They were not very pleasant. When I walked in they immediately looked annoyed. We went to try the rolled ice cream which was very good. I had the Monkey Business (banana and Nutella) and my kids had the Banana Pudding ( banana and vanilla wafers). They had quite the variety of items from rolled ice cream to boba teas and more. The service was just ok. They had three on staff and they were definitely understaffed for how busy they were. Only one was rolling ice cream and that is all we ordered which was a group of 5. It was too much for just one person. The atmosphere was very dark and simple. Nothing stood out. read more

The Milk Jar does milk tea right. I personally only ever order the black, green or Thai milk teas (no boba), but they've got all the flavors if that's your thing. The milk/tea ratio is just right and adjust your sweetness level when you order (except on the Thai tea). Love the option to get a regular or large size -- my favorite spots in the Pacific Northwest only offer large which can just be too much some days. My new obsession has absolutely been milk jar recently! I had tried boba YEARS ago with a friend ordering for me, and I am so glad I decided to give it another chance. Milk jar definitely has a wide variety of options, but my personal favorite is getting the black milk tea with the tapioca boba. It is absolutely phenomenal and comes out great each time. I would say the Kenwood location is more aesthetic than the Mason one - but at the end of the day, most are coming for takeout anyway. So glad they opened a Mason location. I was driving all the way to West Chester, so I'm glad there's finally a mill jar closer by. This location is clean and bright and is right next to Genki Ramen. This place has two of my favorite things: rolled ice cream and boba milk tea. It's located in the deer field plaza beside Pet People. It's not very big but it does have about 4-5 tables. The menu is written on the wall with chalk. It does take a minute as there are so many options to navigate the menu. I chose the Captain Crunch which is Cinnamon Toast Crunch rolled in vanilla ice cream. I also chose a condensed milk and borne sugar syrup. IT WAS DELICIOUS! Everything is very sanitary and it looked like safe food practices were in place. The quickness of the service wasn't too bad co so seeing you watch everything done in front of you. I will definitely return. My only suggestion would be to make the menu easy to navigate . I definitely recommend giving it a try and take a look at the menu before you go. It's ehh. Maybe I just didn't understand the concept that is place inst real ice cream but my husband ordered an Oreo "Milky" which was drinkable from the cup and tasted like blended Oreos in water.
