20 minutes to make a pre-ordered drink. Meanwhile, local kids get greeted and served ahead of earlier order. BAD customer service.
Such an adorable little boba shop in Cinci. Parking was easy here since it's located in a plaza with a parking lot. The decors on the cafe walls make this place so fun and aesthetically cute. The calm & chill music gives this place a relaxing vibe, thus making it a great place to hangout and chat or even to study. Service is quick and servers themselves were very helpful. The milk tea here is exceptionally good. I'm more of a fruit tea person, but this milk tea blew me away! I think the boba was a bit overcooked in my drink, but the pudding was good and paired very nicely with the brown sugar in my milk tea. This place is so good and I wished they expanded their locations to potentially Columbus too. Overall, the boba here made my drive from Columbus to Cinci for my foodie adventures worth every minute!
Again I'm finding places that I never even knew existed. Did a quick search for ice cream places and decided on this one since I've never had rolled ice cream before. Went with some friends and there were just two ladies working on a beautiful night. Lots of people were coming and they clearly needed more help, but did their best serving us as quickly as they could. They have a range of products like tea and boba and rolled ice cream and some cereal thing that I'm not really sure what it is. Prices are slightly high, but after seeing the process to make the rolled ice cream it definitely makes sense because it's a three-minute process, rather than a three-second scoop. A fun thing is you can have as many toppings as can fit in the bowl! I had the campfire delight and tried to make it s'more like - probably will leave off the chocolate chips next time because they were a bit too much of a crunch if you know what I mean. Apparently you can choose to have either one or two marshmallows. Fun to see them roast them on the spot. My friends and I had a nice time sitting outside, but they also have decent seating inside. Altogether, a yummy place, they just need more help to keep up with the crowd and not burn out the workers!
Stopped here for a sweet treat. My kids really enjoy this place and so do I. It wasn't packed when we arrived (it typically is in the summer months) and service went smoothly and we were served within 4-8 minutes. One bonus is that once you've made your selection and the ice cream is done, you get to add any toppings you like with no extra charge. And lastly, they have some indoor seating, but also have a few more tables/chairs to sit outdoors when the weather is nice. Today the temp was around 58-60 so we were able to sit out and enjoy the sun before the temp dropped.
I Milk Jar in Hyde Park this afternoon and I'm sorry to say, I won't be going back. My go to has always been the vanilla base with Honey Nut Cheerios and Banana with a caramel drizzle on top. Which is basically the Banana Pudding that they have on their menu, but with cereal instead of cookies. Today, I was told I can't order that. I was confused and asked the young lady to explain. She told me I had to order off the menu that is on the wall because they could not add Honey Nut Cheerios, which still didn't make any sense to me. First, because cereal should be cereal, regardless of which cereal you want and secondly, that's what I have always ordered and it was never a problem before. So, I asked again just to make sure I had not misunderstood what she said. She again told me they cannot add Honey Nut Cheerios. They can only put that cereal on top. Still confused, I asked why they can add Fruity Pebbles, Oreos, Graham crackers, Cinnamon Crunch and Nilla Wafers, which are all added to items on the menu, but not Honey Nut Cheerios. Thinking that perhaps that specific cereal was somehow a problem, but no. Her final answer was, "the company doesn't want people ordering whatever they want". Well, that was what used to make Milk Jar so great. You just told them what you wanted and they were happy to it for you. So, it's sad to know that after all these years the company no longer wants to make their customers happy and they want to decide which cereal from the cereals they offer we can add to our $7.00 cup of ice cream. anyway, I went to Aglamesis and was able to order exactly what I wanted.
I'm back here againnn!! I was determined to find the perfect sweetness level for Yammy taro. Got 25% this time.. and conclude that I should have gotten 50% or maybe 75% (will update with the perfect combination) Got Jasmine green tea milk cap as that was the very first drink that made me fell for milk jar had it again after awhile and I got to say, still my favorite. Might go there again this weekend who knows

Think Starbucks but high priced speciality drinks. The menu is on a chalkboard and very overwhelming. Maybe look on Yelp first before going to help with order anxiety. They prefer you to pay in cash and have a $10 minimum which is simple to accomplish. Parking is easy and right out front! Clientele is mostly Hyde park high schoolers and their rich families.

Sometimes, the rolled ice cream isn't rolled super tight, and sometimes, the boba is super stuck together, but overall, this is one of my favorite dessert spots. Service: 3.5/5 The service is fine. Teas are pretty fast, but ice cream is slow. Additionally, if it's a busy time, it can really slow down. There are a few staff members who have been there a while, and it's a treat to see familiar faces, but it feels like a lot of young teenagers working. Atmosphere: 4/5 When this place first opened, it looked super clean and cute. It still looks cute but now has a sticky film over all the tables. The chalkboard used to be cute, but now is a bit of a mess. They also have limited seating, which, when full, can mean you have to stand to wait.
I haven't seen many boba shops in the area, so I was excited to try this place out. However, I probably won't return after my visit. The interior is small and quiet. Service was fast. Here is my review: *Ceylon Black Milk Tea (75% sugar, less ice, with boba) - I'm glad I ordered this with less sugar because it's sweet enough at 75%. The boba is good, chewy and sweet but nothing special. The tea base is lackluster. Even though I got less ice, the drink was really watered down after a few sips, completely diluting the tea flavor. This drink cost $6.42, which is pretty expensive considering the size and what you get. Taking everything into consideration, this drink was pretty disappointing and I wouldn't get it again.
Milk Jar is my favorite place to grab bubble tea in Cincinnati. The teas are rich and full of flavor. The tapioca pearls are always chewy and consistent. Parking is super convenient. I like to grab the oolong milk tea or the matcha strawberry latte. It's always a treat coming here. If you're unsure of anything, the staff is always helpful and happy to answer questions.
Delightful rolled ice cream on the cold stone! The monkey business (banana and nutella) tasted absolutely delicious!! Definitely wanting to taste this again!! So fresh and flavorful!
My husband and I came here the other day because a coffee shop was closed and this was pretty nearby. I'm only going to give this place three stars because our drinks were just way too sweet. Felt like diabetes in a cup and I really had to choke it down. Also their menu has a lot of options but it actually can be overwhelming. The service was just okay, nothing special. The place was clean, but the drinks were just overly sweet. I'm not sure if I could ask for a different amount of sweetness but they should definitely put a sign if we could.
My husband and I come here quite a lot. He usually gets a good boba tea and I feel like if they had a rewards program, he would have had some free drinks by now. They also have a good selection of Asian inspired desserts and what not. This one that I can't remember what it's called, you definitely get your money's worth. It's like some sort of shaved ice thing with all these different toppings. Delicious! They also have the folded ice cream which is more fun to watch them make it versus actually eating it. Don't get me wrong a taste just fine but it's really cool to watch them make it. Service is always good although it takes them a while to make some stuff so you might have to wait in line for a bit. Ambience is all right for the most part. But we come back quite a bit! read more

Finally found this place to try their rolled ice cream and bubble tea. Loved the monkey business rolled ice cream topped with a variety of sweets! I really liked their variety of toppings to choose from. Their bubble tea was pretty good but I'm used to the bubble tea to be a little bit more sweet than what they offered. Will definitely back to try their other sweets next time! On a side note, not impressed with their bathroom cleanliness. That really needs some additional attention. Also, I would recommend doing something about the flies in there. read more

New cute little bubble tea place! We went to the other location i can't remember the address but they don't have a yelp page yet. They have so many different flavors i have never heard of i had no idea what to choose but i went with the mango jasmine tea figuring i'd get a little bit sweet but still a traditional tea flavor with bubbles. I liked the tea itself but the bubbles were not as soft in my opinion. *disclaimer* i am spoiled by NY/Queens bbtea places like xin fu tang and tiger sugar with superrr soft squishy bubbles. Otherwise it was good and i want to come and try different flavors. My friend got the oreo milkies which basically tasted like an oreo mcflurry to me which was yums. This location has the nicest staff and happy to answer any questions. The decor is so insta with their mint walls and they will be serving food there i heard. Will come back for more! read more
My new favorite milk tea place! I've been here 3 times now and I haven't gotten anything I haven't liked. They have unique flavors of milk tea and they have a custard pudding that they put inside the tea that is delicious! Custard in your milk tea sounds weird but it goes so great together! They have an option to make your drink "dirty" which just means they use brown sugar instead of caramel. I have tried the dirty mango, dirty taro, Thai milk tea, mango matcha latte, the caramel mango pudding, and the dirty egg milk tea. I keep buying 2 at a time because they are so good. You can also chose your sweetness level. Make sure you stir up the drink when you get it otherwise you will take a big gulp of all the sweet syrup and flavors at the bottom. I also think the teas look cool with the ombré effect of the milk on top with all the flavors at the bottom (insta worthy). I highly recommend coming here for a snack or afternoon pick me up. I stop by whenever I'm in the area. They also have regular teas, and rolled ice cream that I am looking forward to trying next. read more

The order was correct (it says so on the label) The Crestview Hills location was fantastic when you first opened, but consistently my drink is wrong and no one makes it right. The last time the gal said it was right (it was sweet milk, no tea) she argued with me and then the girl who made it said she couldn't read her handwriting and made it wrong. No apologies or anything, just eye rolls. This time it was missing the boba and had a splash of tea. For $6+ and they expect a tip, you would think they'd get your order right. It's a "house drink" nothing special. This is a Boba tea shop right? read more
What a treat! Stopped by for dessert and boy did we get dessert! We ordered the mango tango bingsu which was a delightful fruity shaved ice with fruity pebbles, coconut shavings and condensed milk. I wish there had been more toppings but it was still wonderful. My friend and I also split the campfire delight and topped it with roasted marshmallows, coconut and Pocky. It was so good!! I would absolutely go back here next time I am in the area read more

Milk Jar is hands down the best boba in Cincinnati. The yammy taro flavor is also the best taro boba I have ever had in my life, and I have tried many many taro bobas far and wide. It is a taro pudding that is spooned onto the bottom and sides of the cup with milk that is slightly sweet. I get mine 25% sweet, which is perfect for me. The pudding has a thick texture that could be surprising if you aren't expecting it but if you are, it is like sipping a beautiful cloud. It has a sweet flavor with nutty undertones that always hits the spot. The photo is old from when I went a while back. They have new cups now, but I just had to post a photo with my review because it is honestly a work of art. read more

Milk Jar is a surprisingly solid choice of boba for the area! The busy chalkboard menu has ice cream, bing su shave ice, and other treats in addition to boba drinks. The strawberry matcha latte (pictured) 50% sweet tasted really fresh with chunky strawberry purée. The boba pearls are soft and small. The Taro Milkies (ice blended taro) was also delicious and kept us wishing we ordered a larger size. The cashier confirmed they use fresh taro. Would recommend being adventurous! read more

I've been wanting to try Thai Rolled Ice Cream for a fair amount of time, and I finally made it happen by stopping in at Milk Jar Cafe. I chose Unicorn Poop (Fruity Pebbles, Caramel w/ Vanilla), which has a fun name. Unsurprisingly, it was super sweet. I also had the option to add additional toppings, but I decided to just try it on its own. We were able to watch my ice cream being made and delicately positioned in the serving bowl. Unfortunately, the server ran out of room and had to squash in the final ice cream roll, which ruined the aesthetic lol. My husband went with the Strawberry Matcha Latte, and he was pleased with this unique drink. Milk Jar has a really unique, fun menu, and I can't wait to try more items featured on it! read more

We love Milk Jar Cafe! They have a massive variety of teas, ice creams, cereals! The ice cream is rolled in front of you and the toppings are unlimited. I want to note two things that almost take my 4 star review to a 3 star. We visited the Cafe about 8 months apart. The first experience was 10/10. The restaurant was clean, bathroom was clean and staff had good hygiene. The most recent experience the employees seemed like the didn't want to be there. The girl who made our order had her hair dragging on her gloves and the ice cream it was making me cringe. Food safety is so important. She also dug her hand into the cherry jar with gloves on EW! This is 101 you don't put your hands, even gloved into a container. It also took about 30 minutes and we didn't have a single person in front of us. The bathroom was foul as well, it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months. read more

I heard that the milk jar was voted the bes,bt bubble tea place in Ohio and so the Michelin inspector wannabe (@michelin, hire me ;)) had to try it. I got this jasmine tea since jasmine is kinda rare and was pleasantly surprised by how fragrant the jasmine was. Superb balance there so kudos to them. Knowing that consistency was a factor that I (and other inspectors /inspector wannabes) look at, I waited until my second visit to leave a review and milk jar did not disappoint. Truly one of the premier bubble tea places in Ohio! read more

I am having a terrible week and I'm exhausted. I still have more ahead of me, but I thought today I'd order some boba tea to feel slightly better. No. I feel ALL the way better! Omg, I love how fresh the ingredients are! So glad I decided to try the mashed taro. And the lychee jelly paired with it is the perfect delicate, floral, and fruity complement to the taro. I ordered 25% sweetness, I think I might even do 0% next time since the taro and lychee are sweet enough for me. If I knew that I was about to have a transcendent experience, I would have taken a better photo. But all the teas always look gorgeous from here! I love this place! The drinks here are fabulous and they use real fruit! I absolutely love their flavors and toppings. Their prices are also reasonable, especially for the quality! Staff is super nice and they take pride their work. This location is quite far from where I usually am, but it's worth the trip. I adore the decorations inside and the little details of the cafe. I usually get a milk tea with pudding topping, but you can mix and customize your own drink! There are many choices and options to choose from! They also have rolled ice cream, with various toppings or you can pick a premade item. There's plenty of parking in the plaza lot and plenty of tables inside and out, to enjoy your order. It's nice to order something refreshing and to sit outside to enjoy. I recommend this place for casual dates, family outings, group hangouts, or for a sweet treat! Everything is good and you can try the same or different drinks, with various toppings. read more
After leaving I kept asking myself: how did I not discover this place sooner??! I had the strawberry match milk tea with tapioca boba! It was delicious. I only wish it would have been a little better mixed bc I made a tiny mess trying to mix it all myself. Very good though and loved the outside seating - I will definitely be back! read more
So if you deliver milk every day, use a MILK CAR And if you serve adult milk drinks, you have a MILK BAR Don't joke about Barbie's job, that's taking it too MILK FAR And if you want Boba come and try the drinks at MILK JAR I think back to my childhood, and thank you for your MILK, MA Even though I walked in on your HJ, trying to MILK PA I do so many money shots, I'm not a pornstar, I'm a MILK STAR But if you want some Bubble Tea, try the drinks at MILK JAR WHAT I have lots of great things to say about Milk Jar. They're trying to do a lot of things at once like rolled ice cream and snow ice and whatever but I came here definitively for the fresh homemade bubble tea. They have different options to others in Cinci, and it's quite an original menu. It's definitely advanced for the Cincinnati area. That makes three pretty good bubble tea shops they have in these parts, and this is the only one that is out in the suburbs, and probably the most authentic and imaginative. The girl serving was a total angel and was flirting with me. The guys were really cool. I was teasing them for getting a different customer confused with another customer. They took it well. Good sports. Speaking of Good Sports don't talk to Cincinnati natives about their sports teams. Anyway I appreciate the innovative and authentic and fresh Bubble Tea menu. I also really really appreciate how they make their stuff. Everything is real and natural and fresh, for example the strawberry tea features a bunch of strawberries blended up and mixed on the spot, with some tea. You really don't see that a lot and they're doing it extremely well. Talk about the real deal. Guy Fieri can go f*** himself. There's always a problem though - and in this case the problem is the tapioca. Listen, when you are charging a pretty hefty amount for your bubble tea - especially by Cincinnati standards - and when you are doing such a perfect job with everything else like the fresh fruit in the fruit teas and the wonderful tasting milk teas, then you really need to get the boba right. Its not the taste, because it's very sweet delicious honey boba and could even be some of the best I've had based on taste alone. But they real problem is the texture. It's nightmarish. I don't know if it was a one-off and I really hope it was, but even if it was a one-off, that shouldn't happen. If your Boba is so hard that it's going to break my teeth and be spat right out the window onto Interstate 71 at 85mph unless you're a cop in which case I promise I was doing 55 officer, then you shouldn't be serving it. Literally I had to try to avoid getting boba in my straw for both of my drinks - which were both excellent drinks. When I did get boba in my straw, which happened several times, I had to avoid trying to chew it because it was hurting my teeth because it was so hard and tough and rubbery. And I never have that problem and I try dozens of boba places a week. Sure, squidgy boba gets old, soggy boba sucks, but hard boba that hurts teeth? That's the biggest no no of all. The taste of it was nice but the consistency was awful and I have no idea what they did with it - perhaps left it laying around a long time or just didn't do it right. So down came the window at 85 I mean 55 miles an hour and my spitting talents were put to the most severe test as I fired four and five Boba at a time out of the window trying to make sure they didn't land in the car. And they didn't, if Avis asks. So if you were driving on I-71 north outside Cincinnati on that day and you found some hard pieces of tapioca on your tires after your drive then I apologize, if they hit your windshield, I apologize for the broken glass (they were that hard), but you should also call this shop and ask them to apologize as well because I'm not the one who made the Boba inedible. Five stars for the drinks and service. One star for the tapiok. It was anything but OK. So if you got drunk in a bar And your beer addiction's gone too far There's an alternate option To getting your hops on Come get some Boba at Milk Jar! read more

Ugh I see myself spending so much money here. Bye bye overpriced, burnt Starbucks and hello creamy, fresh Milk Tea! I'm in love. Stopped in and needed a quick lesson on milk tea, milk cap and boba. The two working gave me some great info and I was super excited to try the milk tea. I ordered with milk cap, a delicious creamy, salty, sweet cap and chewy tapioca boba. The drink deserves 10 stars, it tasted amazing. The cups are reusable with 5% off if you reuse it. I love the cup concept with a place to drink straight from the cup to mix the cap + tea or a wide straw to drink up the boba. I loved this drink and was actually a little sad when it was gone. I could've drank two of these! Looking forward to bringing my kiddo for a cereal bowl or rolled ice cream. I'm not really sure why this place isn't heavily marketed, I never really heard of it before Yelp. It's now easily my top 2 fav stop for sweet treats! read more
I've been meaning to try to this place for awhile! I'm so glad I tried this place! I had the matcha strawberry and tasted some of the matcha latte! I loved the freshness of it! The tapioca was also nice & chewy! It's probably one of the most nicest bobas I've had in awhile! Update: I tried the mango matcha latte and it was a bit too sweet for me so I wish I could adjust the sweetness of drinks here but the boba was still chewy and I still like coming here! read more
