I have never been a big boba tea drinker, but I tried this place last week for their specialty matcha drinks. The inside is super cute with a lot of seating and cool chalkboards on their walls to draw. They also drew their whole menu on one side which I think is super creative! Surprisingly there was no one in there when I went, but the staff was still very nice and quick with my order. I got the strawberry matcha latte without boba. It was the perfect drink on a very very hot day. It was very pretty, with a pink and green ombre effect with the drink. The employee recommended making sure to stir it before drinking to mix the flavors. I really enjoyed it! The matcha wasn't chalky or too watered down, and went really well with the sweet strawberry. It wasn't too sugary or overly sweet, which I sometimes don't like when it comes to lattes or coffee drinks. I don't know how this is milk tea. I've tried twice, and both times, the drinks were very white (mostly milk), and I did not taste the tea at all. Such an adorable little boba shop in Cinci. Parking was easy here since it's located in a plaza with a parking lot. The decors on the cafe walls make this place so fun and aesthetically cute. The calm & chill music gives this place a relaxing vibe, thus making it a great place to hangout and chat or even to study. Service is quick and servers themselves were very helpful. The milk tea here is exceptionally good. I'm more of a fruit tea person, but this milk tea blew me away! Again I'm finding places that I never even knew existed. Did a quick search for ice cream places and decided on this one since I've never had rolled ice cream before. Went with some friends and there were just two ladies working on a beautiful night. Lots of people were coming and they clearly needed more help, but did their best serving us as quickly as they could. They have a range of products like tea and boba and rolled ice cream and some cereal thing that I'm not really sure what it is. Prices are slightly high, but after seeing the process to make the rolled ice cream it definitely makes sense because it's a three-minute process, rather than a three-second scoop. A fun thing is you can have as many toppings as can fit in the bowl! I had the campfire delight and tried to make it s'more like - probably will leave off the chocolate chips next time because they were a bit too much of a crunch if you know what I mean. Apparently you can choose to have either one or two marshmallows. Fun to see them roast them on the spot. My friends and I had a nice time sitting outside, but they also have decent seating inside. Stopped here for a sweet treat. My kids really enjoy this place and so do I. It wasn't packed when we arrived (it typically is in the summer months) and service went smoothly and we were served within 4-8 minutes. One bonus is that once you've made your selection and the ice cream is done, you get to add any toppings you like with no extra charge. And lastly, they have some indoor seating, but also have a few more tables/chairs to sit outdoors when the weather is nice. I Milk Jar in Hyde Park this afternoon and I'm sorry to say, I won't be going back. My go to has always been the vanilla base with Honey Nut Cheerios and Banana with a caramel drizzle on top. Which is basically the Banana Pudding that they have on their menu, but with cereal instead of cookies. Today, I was told I can't order that. I was confused and asked the young lady to explain. She told me I had to order off the menu that is on the wall because they could not add Honey Nut Cheerios, which still didn't make any sense to me. First, because cereal should be cereal, regardless of which cereal you want and secondly, that's what I have always ordered and it was never a problem before. So, I asked again just to make sure I had not misunderstood what she said. She again told me they cannot add Honey Nut Cheerios. They can only put that cereal on top. Still confused, I asked why they can add Fruity Pebbles, Oreos, Graham crackers, Cinnamon Crunch and Nilla Wafers, which are all added to items on the menu, but not Honey Nut Cheerios. Thinking that perhaps that specific cereal was somehow a problem, but no. Her final answer was, "the company doesn't want people ordering whatever they want". Well, that was what used to make Milk Jar so great. You just told them what you wanted and they were happy to it for you. So, it's sad to know that after all these years the company no longer wants to make their customers happy and they want to decide which cereal from the cereals they offer we can add to our $7.00 cup of ice cream. anyway, I went to Aglamesis and was able to order exactly what I wanted. read more

New cute little bubble tea place! We went to the other location i can't remember the address but they don't have a yelp page yet. They have so many different flavors i have never heard of i had no idea what to choose but i went with the mango jasmine tea figuring i'd get a little bit sweet but still a traditional tea flavor with bubbles. What a treat! Stopped by for dessert and boy did we get dessert! We ordered the mango tango bingsu which was a delightful fruity shaved ice with fruity pebbles, coconut shavings and condensed milk. My new favorite milk tea place! I've been here 3 times now and I haven't gotten anything I haven't liked. They have unique flavors of milk tea and they have a custard pudding that they put inside the tea that is delicious! Custard in your milk tea sounds weird but it goes so great together! They have an option to make your drink "dirty" which just means they use brown sugar instead of caramel. I have tried the dirty mango, dirty taro, Thai milk tea, mango matcha latte, the caramel mango pudding, and the dirty egg milk tea. I keep buying 2 at a time because they are so good. You can also chose your sweetness level. Make sure you stir up the drink when you get it otherwise you will take a big gulp of all the sweet syrup and flavors at the bottom. I also think the teas look cool with the ombré effect of the milk on top with all the flavors at the bottom (insta worthy). I highly recommend coming here for a snack or afternoon pick me up. It is a taro pudding that is spooned onto the bottom and sides of the cup with milk that is slightly sweet. I get mine 25% sweet, which is perfect for me. The pudding has a thick texture that could be surprising if you aren't expecting it but if you are, it is like sipping a beautiful cloud. I have tried a few flavors and found them all to be tasty, so I think there is a flavor for everyone. We always sit down when we get our drinks and the area is well taken care of and clean. There is a fun chalkboard on the right that you can draw on. When there is only about 1-3 people ahead of me, my drink takes about 5 minutes to come out. When I first tried to go to Milk Jar, someone waiting outside told me that the order would take 40 minutes and that I should look elsewhere, which I did. Weigh to yourself if it is worth it when the pace is crowded. I do wish they blended my ice a bit better with my drink. A lot of times I get big chunks of ice that can't even go up the wide straw, and I'm left with a pile of ice at the bottom of my cup. Rolled ice cream and Boba tea have all the makings of a fad-ridden sugar binge, but Milk Jar has never impressed me all that much. Maybe I'm just not a fan of rolled ice cream, but it's quite expensive and weirdly flavorless. This sounds ridiculous, but the rolling process almost requires it to be *too* cold (á la Dippin Dots). In the end it's more about the presentation value than the taste... which is fun for the first picture and thereafter suffers from diminishing returns. Not sure why their Boba containers need to be made of ballistic-grade /un-recyclable plastic (my inner Captain Planet screams out at this injustice)... just seems a bit wasteful. They're trying to do a lot of things at once like rolled ice cream and snow ice and whatever but I came here definitively for the fresh homemade bubble tea. They have different options to others in Cinci, and it's quite an original menu. It's definitely advanced for the Cincinnati area. That makes three pretty good bubble tea shops they have in these parts, and this is the only one that is out in the suburbs, and probably the most authentic and imaginative. The girl serving was a total angel and was flirting with me. The guys were really cool. I was teasing them for getting a different customer confused with another customer. They took it well. Good sports. Speaking of Good Sports don't talk to Cincinnati natives about their sports teams. Anyway I appreciate the innovative and authentic and fresh Bubble Tea menu. I also really really appreciate how they make their stuff. Everything is real and natural and fresh, for example the strawberry tea features a bunch of strawberries blended up and mixed on the spot, with some tea. You really don't see that a lot and they're doing it extremely well. Talk about the real deal. Guy Fieri can go f*** himself. There's always a problem though - and in this case the problem is the tapioca. Listen, when you are charging a pretty hefty amount for your bubble tea - especially by Cincinnati standards - and when you are doing such a perfect job with everything else like the fresh fruit in the fruit teas and the wonderful tasting milk teas, then you really need to get the boba right. Its not the taste, because it's very sweet delicious honey boba and could even be some of the best I've had based on taste alone. But they real problem is the texture. It's nightmarish. I don't know if it was a one-off and I really hope it was, but even if it was a one-off, that shouldn't happen. If your Boba is so hard that it's going to break my teeth and be spat right out the window onto Interstate 71 at 85mph unless you're a cop in which case I promise I was doing 55 officer, then you shouldn't be serving it. Literally I had to try to avoid getting boba in my straw for both of my drinks - which were both excellent drinks. When I did get boba in my straw, which happened several times, I had to avoid trying to chew it because it was hurting my teeth because it was so hard and tough and rubbery. And I never have that problem and I try dozens of boba places a week. Sure, squidgy boba gets old, soggy boba sucks, but hard boba that hurts teeth? That's the biggest no no of all. The taste of it was nice but the consistency was awful and I have no idea what they did with it - perhaps left it laying around a long time or just didn't do it right. So down came the window at 85 I mean 55 miles an hour and my spitting talents were put to the most severe test as I fired four and five Boba at a time out of the window trying to make sure they didn't land in the car. And they didn't, if Avis asks. So if you were driving on I-71 north outside Cincinnati on that day and you found some hard pieces of tapioca on your tires after your drive then I apologize, if they hit your windshield, I apologize for the broken glass (they were that hard), but you should also call this shop and ask them to apologize as well because I'm not the one who made the Boba inedible. Five stars for the drinks and service. One star for the tapiok. It was anything but OK. Ugh I see myself spending so much money here. Bye bye overpriced, burnt Starbucks and hello creamy, fresh Milk Tea! I'm in love. Stopped in and needed a quick lesson on milk tea, milk cap and boba. The two working gave me some great info and I was super excited to try the milk tea. I ordered with milk cap, a delicious creamy, salty, sweet cap and chewy tapioca boba. The drink deserves 10 stars, it tasted amazing. The cups are reusable with 5% off if you reuse it. I love the cup concept with a place to drink straight from the cup to mix the cap + tea or a wide straw to drink up the boba. I loved this drink and was actually a little sad when it was gone. I could've drank two of these! Looking forward to bringing my kiddo for a cereal bowl or rolled ice cream. I'm not really sure why this place isn't heavily marketed, I never really heard of it before Yelp. It's now easily my top 2 fav stop for sweet treats! read more
