A very odd place with bizarre management/owners choices. Place is full of plastic plants, which in my opinion represents a lot of things that are currently wrong with this world. Plastic plants are hanging from ceiling - what an odd design choice. All their pastry wrapped in plastic individually. They don't bake - it's coming from somewhere and it's wrapped in plastic because they can sell it up to a week. How bizarre to sell week old pastry for a full price. When I was there everything was 2 days old and I didn't appreciated it. I had double espresso and lucky for me it wasn't served in a plastic cup. Coffee was good, but I'm unlikely to return - dear owner: stop making lazy choices - it's opposite of quality. read more

Birdie's had been on my list for a while and I was so excited to finally try it out!! I got a latte and added cookie butter syrup, and I loved the cinnamon-y flavor. I also got an everything bagel that was really good. The one thing I will say about this cafe is that I don't think it is great for getting work done. I don't know if this was just my experience because I don't see any other reviews about this, but the WiFi was SO slow. I felt like every task was taking me double as long to complete because I was just waiting for tabs to open. I went around 9:30am and it was very crowded -- but honestly, that's to be expected in Norwood. It clearly has a loyal following. The energy is lively and upbeat, which makes it great for casual meet-ups or getting out of the house to work for a bit. I'm not much of a coffee drinker, but the smell alone makes you want to order one. I opted for a jasmine green tea with honey and lavender syrup, and it was light, floral, and really smooth. I also tried the coffee cake, which was a solid choice and paired nicely with my tea. The staff was friendly and efficient despite the rush, which I always appreciate. One thing to note -- it does get loud, so it's probably not the best spot for a serious or quiet conversation. The outdoor seating area looks like it would be lovely when the weather cooperates (sadly it was raining during my visit). Birdie's is one of my favorite spots to work, meet friends, or just enjoy a delicious cup of coffee. Their interior is festooned with a variety of fun chairs- my favorite is the conversation seat. And they boast a rooftop for sitting out in the sun. On my most recent visit, I enjoyed a banana pudding macha. It tasted like a great big smile with nilla wafer pieces and cloud foam on top. The people behind the counter are endlessly kind and always go out of their way to make sure their customers have a great day. Birdie's is a cute spot in Norwood. I've used it a few times to meet with members of my organization and it's got everything you'd want in a coffeehouse. Free secure wi-fi - with the login details on wall signs - I hate having to ask; I feel like such a mooch. A variety of tables with comfy seating and a mix of high and low-top table. And the most clutch - there are outlets everywhere. I like a spot that clearly implies that you can hang out as long as you'd like. I went to another Norwood coffeehouse that gave you a slip of paper with a set number of hours of wi-fi based on how much you spent and it was a turn-off. My latte was delicious and included art in the foam as is the norm these days. I haven't tried the eats yet but they looked tempting. I will definitely go back and maybe stay a little longer than just a meeting. BTW - it's at the corner of a big intersection and it's street parking. Know before you go! read more

Had an iced vanilla latte, hot cocoa, almond cookie and pistachio croissant, taken to-go. Big space for sitting inside with cute decor and a neat little kids corner too. Saw many customers reading or working in their laptops, plus sitting at several tables outside. It's a little coffee oasis in a neighborhood with a very small parking lot. During these cold days, my boyfriend and I have been visiting a TON of coffee shops. We came to Birdie's and it was super lively! There were lots of people studying, catching up, reading, and enjoying their drink. I think the place is decorated beautifully, especially with all the hanging plants. The drinks were yummy and the seating was pretty comfy. The only thing is, this is NOT a quiet coffee shop. Especially on busy days. I enjoyed the chatter but I would not come here to do work. I've been by the coffee shop 40 or 50 times as my daughter lives right on the corner one block from the café. I had time to stop for an iced latte and came in and the atmosphere was electric, super cool vibe and was met by Raye. Raye was extremely nice and very efficient. I met a friend here during the week, and we happened to get lucky that someone was leaving just as we walked in, seating was hard to come by. A lot of people were working from the shop, so most of the tables were taken and the space is pretty tight. Quick heads up: definitely don't bring a stroller if you're coming with little ones; there's not much room to maneuver. The coffee shop itself is cute and has overall good vibes. The coffee is okay but overall the speciality drinks just never hit the right flavor mark sadly. If you want something for breakfast other than a bakery item then this isn't the place for you but the bakery items I have tried have all been very tasty. The white chocolate raspberry muffin is my favorite. My son with a peanut allergy has never had an issue with the bakery items! The service also is sometimes hit or miss when I have been in there. Overall the staff all seems young (maybe high school or early college) and sometimes seem more worried about chatting with co workers than getting the customers served! Wow this place is really cool! I would say it's more of an upscale coffee house. It's really nicely decorated and the vibes are great with a lot of super comfortable seating. The coffee and service was also excellent, I had the pistachio shaken espresso and will definitely be back to have it again. I've been mixing it and hitting coffee shops that are not in my usual rotation. I circled back to Birdie's and was really pleased. The place is buzzing busy which is awesome to see. Very friendly staff and good WiFi. Plenty of seating options but it was crowded. Love the design an there's a small kids play area. I had the dirty birdie drink and enjoyed it. Yet another Birdies review! I can't say enough about this place and yet again it was a great experience. It is always so convenient for me being only a few blocks away. This time I went a little out of the box and got a matcha latte, which is not something I get often. It was really good, a very pretty green color. It wasn't chalky like they can sometimes be, and was very refreshing and tasty, not too grassy as they can also be haha! The service is always very nice and fast, they are super with the speed no matter how busy it is. I will probably go here next week being me, and maybe I will try something new again! read more

I love this quaint and cozy local coffee shop! I had never been here before, but always drove past it and wondered what it was like inside. I loved the decor and the vibes of the place. The staff were super friendly even while they were so busy making coffee and preparing pastries and bagels. They were very welcoming, and I appreciate that from them! I will say that this place does get very busy. In fact, there were lots of people waiting for seats. However, on a warmer day, they do have outdoor seating on the patio, so that would probably help with some congestion. The place is on the darker side, but I like that. There is a parking lot behind the shop, but it also fills up as there are only 8-10 parking spots, but there is PLENTY of street parking around. I recommend giving this place a visit, even if it's just stopping in and getting coffee and a bagel to go! I'm looking forward to visiting again when the weather is warm! read more

I visited Birdie's Coffee during a visit to Cincinnati. I searched for a place within walking distance of my air bnb. The walk thru the neighborhood was lovely due to the lush foliage and variety of architectural style in the homes. Upon entering, I felt like the outdoors came in with me. Such a beautiful environment with comfortable furniture that invites you to sit a spell. The staff gave a friendly greeting and offered plenty of time for me to make my selection. We got 2 large specialty drinks and paid the price set for a large and it's the same amount as a medium and when asked they said that's just how the machine works....so that's a scam. Inside is very roomy, plenty of tables to hangout . Everyone is in their computer and Internet speed is fast enough to keep up. I like my iced coffee and almond cookies. It hit the spot. First-time visit, came for the Cincy Coffee Battle. Arrived early in the morning, there was quite a long wait to order and wait for the food. The ambience was very cute and surprisingly spacious. Plenty of space to chat with a friend or get some work done. There is also a rooftop patio that I did not check out, but would love to return and see the neighborhood views. This place is so cute! The furniture and decor is elevated and stylish. Folks were focused working on laptops in the space and I could definitely see myself coming back here to work. The drinks came out fast and were delicious- I ordered a London Fog which was good- the sweetness level was lovely. My mom got one of the drink specials- a white chocolate horchata drink- but she said she didn't get much horchata flavor besides cinnamon, but she still liked it. Love the space, though it was pretty crowded we did luck out and find a table and three chairs. Drip coffee was self-serve, and pretty good - I enjoyed two cups. Pastries were not bad. It was very loud and chaotic when we arrived, but as we enjoyed our coffees and pastries a lot of the crowd left and it was much quieter and pleasant. The people here are truly great, and I really do recommend it. However, I've noticed in recent months the popularity of this place has skyrocketed! Which is great for business! And makes me happy for the workers. However, it's no longer the cute cozy coffee shop hidden in Norwood that it once was. It's busy. It gets loud. And it gets crowded. Obviously, again, I'm super happy for the business and that Norwood has such a great local spot! But if you're looking for a quiet, cozy place to study, you either have to go super early, go two hours before closing, or find somewhere else. The smell of coffee welcomed me in to this charming corner coffee shop as I walked through the doors. The barista was friendly and informative on all of the options for food and drinks that they had from local vendors. I chose to get the Candy Cane Forest coffee drink from the holiday menu to try something different. I liked that it was well balanced with the white mocha and peppermint, but not too sweet even though there was whip cream and little candy and sprinkles on top. I love how this is an inviting coffee shop where you can grab a cup of coffee to go or sit and work on your laptop for hours.
