Running early morning errands landed me at Whities Auto Care in Obryonville (review to come later) and we needed early early morning coffee... simple. It's across the street from Ripple in the middle of Obryonville. It was spacious and clean. It also has a lower level with a couple of sofas, a mini bar and flat screen. It also has a decent amount of outdoor seating. I make note of these things because I'm always looking for places to have venues for my Meetup group. When we first arrived there was only one guy there, the a few dudes showed up taking all loud. But hey, that's what you do in a coffee/pub. LOL That being said: Oatmilk Mocha she loved it Cinna-Honey was good, coulda been sweeter. Tonic water was needed by me. I'm gonna have a Meetup there at some point. Our barista said that unfortunately people don't take advantage of Happy Hour here, which is silly because this place is very nice! Y'all check out Bean & Barley.

Cute downstairs, lighting with board games and lots of seating. Upstairs has a small bar with alcohol options with espresso and drip coffee options as well. It is very family friendly and has much later hours than most other coffee shops. If you're hungry, you can also grab a pastry or empanada. They are usually playing some pretty hip music, which is a plus! The only downside is the only parking available is on the street with parking meters. We've been several times and it's highly recommended.

I really love their outdoor area for working. It's shaded for part of the day and quiet. The iced lattes are perfectly sweetened and they have a large variety. They are quick to make your drink and always have a smile on their face!

We had a bridal shower for my sister over the summer and the venue was wonderful! The team was so helpful and responsive. Everyone thought the drinks and empanadas were amazing. Highly recommend for your next event!

We we're meeting some people at Obryans but stopped here for a quick drink. My husband had been here before, but this was my first time! Really cool place, with a very eclectic mix of drinks to consume- coffee, beer, wine, cbd drinks! The bartender was very nice and knowledgeable. She also let me try a few beers before I went with a Kolsch. I was delighted to see they had brunch too, so we'll have to come back- who doesn't love trying a new brunch spot!

Bean & Barley is a small neighborhood coffee shop in O'Bryonville, walking distance from the BonBonnerie and Lilypad (indoor play area for kids). I've been a few times with friends and I love that it has so many windows for natural light and an outdoor patio. My one critique is a wish the seating was more comfortable. As someone with a back injury, it's actually kind of hard finding coffee shops with comfortable seating (aka seats with cushioned backs) for sitting and working on a project for hours (most places have a couch or something but nothing else). Here they do have cushioned window seats but they do not have backs. That being said, the coffee here is pretty good and you can also get a beer on tap if you'd rather have that. It's a good place to come for someone who wants options. I typically get their Berry Oat Latte which is an oatmilk latte with berry syrup and it is tasty! They also offer some pastries and options for gluten free snacks as well.

Amazing space! Coffee, great drafts and awesome cocktails plus seasonal specials. Great outdoor space, indoor seating option and outside, updates and patio seating options.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Bean and Barley, and I must say, it was an absolute gem of a find! I lived in the area and was looking for a local coffee shop that can be my goto. They have a wide selection of coffee option, both from local roasters and abroad. They offer most of the favorites you'll find in different coffee shops, but they offer some local variations. They also cary local pastries that are brought in daily. They also have a section for beers, with plenty of option on tap. They surely will have a beer you might like. The beers come from different breweries from ohio, so you get a taste of local offerings. Its a great spot to hang out and study since it keeps a low profile through the day. It does get louder at night when people switch over to beer. I have had the pleasure of studying there and also winding down with friends. They have an upstairs and downstairs area, so plenty of seating. They offer games downstairs such as connect four and jenga. Despite the name, they also offer wine and mixed drinks, so they have something for everyone. I don't know if dogs are always allowed but I do see them inside from time to time. I think its the best chill bar that I have experienced. The service has been wonderful and I always felt welcomed. It felt peaceful and relaxing to drink Bean or Barley!

This is a great little spot. I haven't been for coffee, but the beer selection is great. Friendly service super knowledgeable and helpful. Not a huge place so I've never seen it get too noisy. A cute deck out back when the weather is warm. This is the kind of place you go with a couple friends for a couple beers and some good conversation.

Good atmosphere and friendly staff, but had to use a hotspot because of the very spotty WiFi, and coffee was 80% foam.

We got a cozy nook to sit in and enjoy our beer. I had the Cuppa, which I should have started slower. It was like a fine dessert cocktail and winding down your night. I don't know that there's any way to know this, but they were closed to the public for a private party until 4:00. Not a big deal. We grabbed a tea around the corner and returned after the party ended. This place is great! What a fabulous selection of brews. Even more extraordinary was the massive selection of alcohol free beers. I've never seen anything like it. Though the partiers lingered a bit, we were able to snatch a comfy table for two by the window. It's the perfect spot for two. Unfortunately I don't recall what I ordered, though I'd remember it if I saw it. Mark had a AF beer and he really enjoyed it. I tasted it and it was delightfully unique. The selection of beer to purchase and take away was huge. I intended to return after dinner, but it was cold and I was too ready to go home. The gentleman running the place was super helpful even though he was managing the party and the remaining party guests as they cashed out with drinks to go. We will most definitely return!

Then I thought okay it's mid week, lunch time, so I came in. I was limited on time, came in and ordered a pizza and a beer. Told the server she could serve it in the to go box since I had to go sooner than I would have liked. Service was friendly, prompt and she still checked on me after I had paid. Although the place was not busy, there was a large table with a baby and 2 pre schoolers. They were all well behaved, but still I'm always surprised that breweries are now for kids. I really liked the decor!

My husband was saying how much better it will be when we come back in the summer with the huge patio and all the garage doors open. I agreed, but I also think part of the reason we loved it so much was that even though it was a cold, gray February day, inside Parks and Rec had so much greenery and lots of windows so it felt summery inside! Our server was super friendly and went over the menu with us, telling us which items were most popular and which were his favorites. I got the peanut butter porter which was really good and hubby liked his s'mores stout as well. We split one of their huge pretzels which came with whole grain mustard and beer cheese...delish!! Then I got a 1/2 apple and pecan salad, which was more pecans, apples and dried cranberries than salad (and I mean that in the best way!) My husband let me try one of his chicken wings which had a nice spice to it. We were very pleasantly surprised at how great our whole experience was because the reviews were pretty mixed but honestly, it was a great visit from start to finish. Highly recommend!

I've made my way through the entire menu (food and drinks), and there honestly isn't a single item I wouldn't recommend. Everything is consistently spot on every single time. That kind of reliability is hard to find, and it's exactly why I keep coming back. That said, a few personal favorites stand out. The goat cheese flatbread appetizer is a non-negotiable. It's the kind of dish you order "for the table" but secretly don't want to share. The cacio e pepe and pasta rustica are also incredible and always hit. As for drinks, the seasonal espresso martini is always a go-to and never disappoints. But my personal favorite is either the regular old fashioned or, when I'm feeling myself, the wagyu old fashioned... especially if Scott is behind the bar. He clearly knows what he's doing, and it shows. The service is always warm, attentive, and consistent, which makes the whole experience even better every time. Great food, great drinks, great atmosphere, and a bartender who takes his craft seriously. I'll definitely be back (again...and again).

I have had this spot on my list for a while. I started with a cocktail, the Soda Italia Mojito and it was so refreshing, bubbly, and delicious without being overly sweet. I ordered an appetizer for my meal. Unfortunately I did not feel well and ended up taking almost all of this home with me. I ordered the Bourbon Wagyu Burrata. This app was hand pulled mozzarella stuffed with braised wagyu brisket and bourbon butter and served with crostini. I just ate this for lunch and it was absolutely delicious. The bartender said these are made to order, mozzarella pulled and filled after I placed my order. The atmosphere was cozy and right in the heart of Covington. Both bartenders were super friendly and when I said all of a sudden I did not feel well, they took my meal and put it in a box for me and got me an ice water to go. I will definitely stop in the restaurant again to give something else on the menu a try. Probably will order the same cocktail as it was so good.
