Hyde Park is located in a strip mall right near the walking path that used to be the railroad tracks along Wasson Avenue in Hyde Park and oakley. The entrance is actually off of Michigan Avenue you could probably approach that parking lot from Edwards as well. The staff there was very courteous and quick with my drink. I got a non-fat latte that was filled to the brim and had a lovely appearance. I would characterize the espresso is soft, as say, related to Starbucks which has a sharper feel on the pallet. A very very nice cup! The area for additives to your drink was rather Spartan in the furniture pretty worn and Industrial in style. A simple coffee shop that's tucked in Hyde Park. You walk in and there is a nice amount of seating, some comfy chairs by a fireplace, some high top seating, and tables. There is nice chalk artwork on the makeup of different coffee/tea which I enjoyed. The chalk continues for the menu. Prices are average. I love a simple, local coffee shop with a cozy vibe and Hyde Perk fills the bill! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the coffee and tea selections are ample, and the decor suits a range of needs. There are comfortable chairs by a fireplace, high top and standard tables for meeting and a few outdoor seats with tables when the weather accommodates. It is generally quiet enough to do business indoors and out in my experience. There are a few tasty sweet and savory pastries but nothing else available to eat, which is why I knocked off a star. Friendly baristas, open relaxing atmosphere, and right off the newly renovated public walking path for easy access. Pastries were not that great and could use some improvement. Tried this shop for a meet up with a friend. It looked good in pictures so I figured I would try it out. Overall I must say I was not too impressed. I'll start with the positive by saying the interior was nice. Plenty of different seating options and tables for anyone's needs. There is a also a fireplace which I'm sure is nice for the winter. They also offer free wifi which would make it good for work or studying. I was also able to get a free piece of chocolate for checking in. The service was horrendously slow though for a non-busy morning. I'm not sure if this is due to an under-staffing problem or just a lacksidaisical attitude. Additionally, there was an awkward silence in the place. I often like going to coffee shops for the ambiance of some nice music playing in the background, of which there was none. I don't think I'll be a return customer unfortunately with the other choices available in the area. read more

Came in to catch up with friends after work. Plenty of space indoor and out, and social distancing is enforced so luckily it was not crowded on a weekday afternoon. Seems to be a quiet homework/study/business sort of place. The menu is unique in that it has coffees and wines! They do wine and chocolate pairings, and with my Yelp check-in offer I got to try a delicious truffle for free! There are some pastries in the case, but selection will vary depending on what time you arrive. Only dislike is that I ordered the seasonal latte with almond milk, but it came with cow milk. Been here a few times, drive-thru and inside. Drive-thru is convenient, the aesthetic is nice inside. Drip Coffee is mediocre at best. Prices are a little bit more than I've paid at other places. I was behind another car in the drive-thru around the 8:00 hour. After the customer got their drink, the barista and they chatted for 7 minutes, not even acknowledging I was behind them. The window is such that the barista can see who's behind them, and it juts out a bit so the window has 3 sides. The barista kept looking at my car, talking to the customer, having a grand time, seeming like in no hurry with their conversation, as if no one else has to be somewhere on a weekday morning. After the car finally left in front of me, I went to order my coffee. While I was ordering it, the barista was in her phone typing and I waited for 5 seconds while she finished whatever she was doing on her phone to hand her my cash to pay. That kind of customer service is off putting. Not engaged. No eye contact. There's other local coffee shops around here that do a better job in customer service than the few times I've met this particular person in the morning. read more

I have to admit with all of the coffee shops opening around Cincinnati I instantly thought oh another one. After visiting however, I think this is a welcome addition to the coffee scene! First off, it's tucked away next to Aladdin's eatery in Hyde Park and can be a little hard to find, but don't give up. The inside is super cute and home-like with a fireplace and games cabinet. The menu has a nice selection of traditional and specialty coffees and a limited food offering. After 3, this place has great beer and wine happy hour specials that I can't wait to try. The service was a little slow, but not terrible, however considering there were only 2 people in the shop this could be an issue when it's more crowded. Overall, this feels like a nice alternative to some of the chain offerings in the area and I'll add it to my winter haunts. read more

Super cute coffee shop that apparently converts to a bar in the evenings. They have lots of tables and outlets (and WiFi) - it seems like a good place to work! I ordered one of their seasonal lattes, a toasted marshmallow latte (with oat milk rather than dairy). It was delicious! The flavor was light and delicate, and it wasn't overwhelmingly sweet. They also have a salted caramel pumpkin latte right now, where they mix pumpkin spices into the latte itself as well as the syrup. They didn't seem to have a ton of food options - I think they had a few types of muffins and other sweets for sale when I went in? It's definitely more of a grab-a-cup-of-coffee place. But the coffee drinks are really good, so I'd definitely go back. read more

was looking for coffee shops that were open until late since most close between 2 pm and 8 pm. thankfully I saw Hyde Perk and decided to give it a shot. Pictures of the place and the items looked great so why not right. We got to the plaza and i was a bit confused because the shop is on the left corner but the drive-thru on the opposite, nevertheless, I found it. The shop is quite small it actually looks bigger in pictures, above all, the place is cute, I like the decor and the lighting it gives it a lot of life, also all the frames about coffee are cool. The service there is great, the girls who served the coffee was friendly and even walks the drinks to your table. The downside is that we were there about 7 pm and she asked if we were okay with to-go cups instead of regular mugs, it's not a big deal but it would have been way better if I wasn't asked that question, if I wanted a to-go cup I would have just gone through the drive-thru. Anyways, we got two cappuccinos with almond milk (so awesome they have almond milk and not just oat milk), and the coffee was delicious if you like good strong coffee this is the place. I love everything about Hyde Perk... Except for the prices. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable. If the decor doesn't make you feel warm enough, the staff will. Even on my way out, the barista thanked me for my business and invited me to come back (she *gets* customer service). Anytime a business's staff is as kind as they are here, they deserve some attention. I had a medium cold brew coffee (great!) and the chicken pesto wrap (decent) with a side of raw veggies (par for the course...adding some hummus would have been better, especially at the price). My grand total: $16. Ouch. That one hurt to hear a little bit. This was just a working lunch. I can go enjoy a nice dinner (without booze) for this price. Will the price discourage me from coming here? For coffee, no. For food? Yeah, I probably won't eat here again. All in all, I like the vibes here. Hyde Perk has such an inviting ambiance inside, and I can't wait to come back when the seating area is open to the public. They offer different selections of coffee, wine, and baked goods! I decided to keep it simple with an iced vanilla coffee, which was very tasty! Their ice cubes were made out of coffee, which meant no watery ice coffee after the ice melts! I like Hyde Perk for most things, but had a few small gripes that held me from having glowing thoughts. The coffee and drinks selection was expansive and great, with multiple drip coffees to choose from. They also have a decent selection of baked goods and foods to be served. The hummus plate, for example, was very tasty. Muffins and scones are pretty good as well. Seating is pretty good, with numerous tables relative to its size. My biggest gripe: it is COLD in the winter. I've been here twice in cooler weather and not even a sweater can keep you comfortable as you're sitting in here. You can feel when the heating is on and working, but it's not enough at the current rate they use. They also have significant drafts when doors open, which is something they should address, lest they leave their customers in and out in of the cold. read more

The whole milk latte was just alright, as I don't think the whole milk was steamed correctly, and I couldn't really taste the notes. Layout: Plenty of table space (with several outlets) to cater to those coming in to do some work, school, etc. Plenty of natural light shining into the shop. Coffee selection: Several options to choose from. I ordered the espresso ($2.14, cheap!) for dine in that I wish was served with a bit of carbonated water to cleanse the palette. I'm not sure that I'm a fan of the espresso flavor profile but it was my first time after all so I will have to try it again to have a better gauge. In short, I felt the espresso lacked the body and acidity that I'm used to tasting. I will definitely come back. This place has the potential to be one of my favorite places in the city. read more

Love the name, by the way. Very clever. I'm all about flavored cappuccinos and was somewhat surprised that they had very limited flavor choices. They had a ton of wine selections, which is great...but our visit was mid morning and we were there for a business meeting, so that wasn't going to work for us. I typically get a flavored cappuccino and my husband will settle on a dark roast. As I said earlier, they were good, but not impressive. I also like to get a pastry, but again the choices were very limited. The service was just functional...some of the things we like about local businesses is that the service is usually very personable, but this visit was just business. Take your order, take your money, and a quick no eye contact 'Thanks'. The seating was typical of most coffee shops. Very comfortable for our meeting. Nothing that stood out, though. Our visit was good enough to come back, but not great enough to make it a regular stop when we are in the area. read more
