We walked in to just get a coffee, but were told that these almond croissants had JUST, and I mean JUST come out of the oven, and were ready to be bought. The drinks were really good! The maple match was amazing!! It was a little too sweet, but after mixing it with the regular matcha it was better. The chagaccino tasted like melted dark chocolate milk. The amount of decaf options was disappointing, but I can't hold it against them because of a personal necessity, haha. They were weighing everything out with the matcha, so it wasn't clumpy at all! I wished there was more of a matcha taste as it got washed out quite a bit by the milk. The matcha was a little floral with a bit of a bitter aftertaste. For the high price point, I would have liked to see a more balanced and flavorful matcha. The service was actually the best experience I have ever had in a cafe. I wish I had gotten her name, because she was so amazing at walking us through the menu. She didn't make us feel rushed, even as a line was growing behind us. I really appreciated her explanations behind the drinks. She was amazing!! The interior is interesting. It's like a big room with a nail salon in half of it. Nothing but love for Haven Cafe! This tucked away little gem of a coffee shop maybe "no-frills ", but it's simple branding is cute and effective. Their drinks are delicious-- made even better by the fact that several ingredients are made in house. Their breakfast sandwich is arguably one of the best in Cincinnati. The English muffins are spread with ghee. And the house made sauce that covers the sandwich is so good that if they bottled it, I would for sure buy it by the bottle. They do share the space with other business, which feels a little odd when you are dining in, but I'm sure it's very cost-effective for rent purposes! read more

I don't know how I haven't heard of this place sooner. It's kind of off the beaten path along a quaint street. I wanted to try one of their matcha's cause it looked like they had really unique options. Unfortunately their shipment was backed up and they didn't have any. Instead I got a cinnamon toast crunch latte and avocado toast. The latte was delicious, they even included bits of the cereal on top. it was refreshing and not too bitter. It was very sweet so if you don't like sweet coffee I wouldn't recommend. The avocado toast was amazing! The bread was perfectly toasted with a big dollop of ripe avocado, it was perfectly messy and delicious all in one! read more

I stopped here on my way home from campus because I've heard so much about the matcha and it did not disappoint! I ordered the iced Banana Pudding Matcha Latte and it was so creamy and delicious with a slight hint of banana pudding flavor. Neither the matcha nor the banana flavors were too overpowering which I really appreciated. It was the perfect sweetness for myself and a great pick. I will say the prices are a bit up there. My latte was $7.50 for no additional add ins and I got it with whole milk. The cafe is nice from the inside however there's not much seating especially near an outlet so it's not really an ideal place to go and study. There's also not a designated lot for parking so beware of having to find street parking. read more

Finally made it here after trying to come for a very long time to see what the hype was about and have to say I feel it is very over hyped. They have unique and cool coffee places but the banana crème top latte had minimal flavor and didn't have the topping it said it came with (bruleed banana) so I was disappointed about that. The sandwich was tasty but very messy and not worth $12 for a small sandwich - wow. I would come back to meet a friend but probably wouldn't go out of my way, especially with how terrible it is to find parking in the area. Plus for such a large indoor space there are very few places to sit and hang out. read more

Haven is on to a good thing with a great aesthetic, and their new-ish location is very nice with more seating than their previous venue. We were excited to check out the new locale and enjoy the delicious pastries and drinks we remembered. They were unfortunately out of matcha the day we visited, which was one of the reasons for choosing Haven that day. Staff weren't really as friendly as we remembered at their other location, and didn't seem motivated to talk up the non-matcha options or even the pastries we asked about -- maybe the mysterious missing matcha was stressing them out. In all seriousness, I'm sure demand for their matcha drinks simply exceeded supply that day. We'll give them a try on another day! We didn't feel like lingering, and left with a basic latte. Limited parking on the street, and a small parking lot for the adjacent complex nearby. read more

I have been wanting to try Haven for a while and I'm glad I stopped in today! The café is small, but there was plenty of seating and I was able to snag a spot big enough for me and my two friends and their babies. The drinks on social media looks so delicious... I was bummed to see that they were out of Matcha entirely so several of the drinks that I thought sounded good were not available. It could be because it was a Friday the end of the day, but this was a bummer. I asked the barista about some other alternatives and didn't get much of an answer--Other than that they didn't like tea so they weren't sure what to recommend in that area. I read some other reviews about the staff not being very welcoming, and I wouldn't say that was the case, but I struggled with what to get and would've appreciated some help with the menu since one of their main offering and an ingredient in most of the drinks was not available. I ended up getting an iced chai, and the flavor was really lovely . However, I had to go get a straw because the chai settled on the bottom and when I stirred it, it was pretty gritty and didn't incorporate well...it was about average for chai latte but the sediment on the bottom took it down a few notches. I've heard great things about their breakfast sandwich, and my friend got one which looked amazing! I think I'd return to try the sandwich, but I wouldn't get the chai again. Hopefully next time I come, the Matcha is available because several of the seasonal drinks looked amazing! The other thing was that the music was pretty loud in the café, so we ended up moving one of the speakers away from our table because it was hard to hear. After that, no issues we had a lovely time together and enjoying the afternoon! Overall, wasn't quite what I expected, but I do want to return to give it another chance! I am going to give Haven a 5 star review because the coffee and sandwich I tried were AMAZING! They are known for some of their amazing matcha drinks as well but unfortunately they are having issues getting Matcha they import from Japan. Their instagram is keeping us updated when it will be back! I'm eager to try. But I have the cinnamon toast ice coffee with oat milk and a breakfast Sammy ( no egg) The coffee was topped with Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal. So creative and delish. The sauce on the Sammy was sooooo good and flavorful. I went on a Saturday. It was packed the line was to the door. The people who worked there were pleasant and happy. The coffee shop side is small and there are a few tables to sit and chat and eat and drink. I took mine to go. I can't wait to go back and try more items. read more

Cinnamon Toast Crunch latte is truly unbelievable! They have some incredible specialty lattes that change seasonally. But for me the best thing is their breakfast sandwich. They use an amazing English muffin with fresh thick cut bacon and one of the best sauces I've ever had. Fair warning that it gets very crowded on the weekends so expect a bit of a wait as it takes some time to make their specialty drinks. read more

Came here upon recommendation from a friend and it did not disappoint. This place has an open feel with seating along the walls. When you walk in, it almost welcomes you to the ordering counter opposite the entrance. The coffee was hot and fresh! Great bold flavors. They serve Counter Culture Coffee. I also ordered the avocado toast with egg. The avocado was a house made spread and they used a hint of lemon, which was great flavor! The egg was cooked to perfection and not overly runny. I tried this place for the first time on a weekend and it was decently full for a tight space. It's a unique concept with a nail salon attached but convenient location in downtown Oakley. Unfortunately, the staff is super unfriendly and was unwilling to provide any drink recommendations. They seemed offended when I took a second to read the menu. Came across Haven Cafe on instagram @havencafeco and all of their cute drinks and pastries enticed me to check them out! I'm so glad I did because this evergreen matcha was such a unique drink, but I loved it!! I think it's a seasonal item so definitely try it before the holiday season ends - if you enjoy mint chocolate flavors, you'll love the minty but sweet taste of this drink :) I also got to try their breakfast sammy and it was delicious, the spicy aioli really makes it. The girls at the counter and making my drink provided great service as well, friendly and kind! They do have free WiFi if you wanted to do some work here but there isn't too much seating. Came to Kentucky for a wedding and had the opportunity to discover this amazing little coffee shop. Super small cafe so not a lot of seatings. The cafe is attached to their spa next door. The vibe of the cafe is very cute, very chic. We got their chocolate chip cookie to try and they were delicious! Loved it so much I went back to grab a couple for my road-trip back to the DMV. I also got their Tiramisu Doughnut, which had beautiful presentation. I have to say I was not a huge fan and wouldn't order again. I guess I was expecting more fluffy, it had too bread-y texture for me. This was my very first time seeing a Pandan Coffee drinks, so I had to try it. I for the Pandan Iced Latte. Absolutely AMAZING! You can taste the Pandan flavors, but it doesn't overpower the coffee. Amazing compliment of Pandan flavor combined with coffee and creaminess. I made sure to come back on my last day in Kentucky to have on the road with me. So happy I was able to discover this unique coffee shop during my time in Kentucky. read more

This was my first time visiting Haven since I am from out of town, but my friends who live in the area have gave high reviews for the place. Visiting today the service was not its best, we approached the counter and stood for multiple minutes without any acknowledgment. I have had this spot saved since I stepped foot into this part of the US! I finally walked over the bridge with the intent to go sip some smiles. This spot is perfect for both coffee lovers and those obsessed with aesthetics. My latte was super light and a perfect match to the delicious Avo Toast & fresh donut. Found a new favorite coffee shop! I love how unique their drinks and pastries are! I tried the orange crush latte, which sounds interesting but it was SO delicious. The baristas are very friendly and lively and made me feel so welcome. They change their drinks and pastries based off the season, which is nice and a reason for people to come back and try everything. I just wish they were open longer in the evening and on Mondays. I want to start off by saying that the drinks here are amazingly crafted. They have great flavors, quality ingredients, I love it. Because of that, I go here frequently, but this last time that I went there, I was severely disappointed by the service. Let me start off by saying I work in the service industry, so I understand what it's like to be behind the counter. However, every time I have gone here, I have not felt welcomed by the staff. This last time I went, the lady at the counter had an extremely hostile disposition towards us upon arrival. That was already enough to bring me and my friends off, as it was apparent in her demeanor. I'm not sure if she was having a bad day, as she has been okay to me before, but I found the service entirely unacceptable. I was thinking, okay, I guess I came here for the drinks and not the service. However, when our drinks came out, they were not the usual delicious drinks I am used to receiving, they were not filled to the top, weak in syrup flavor, and had one puff of their topping. For the cost of the drinks, I do not think that this kind of quality is acceptable. I am extremely disappointed in their service, and discouraged from going again. read more
