I want to start off by saying that the drinks here are amazingly crafted. They have great flavors, quality ingredients, I love it. Because of that, I go here frequently, but this last time that I went there, I was severely disappointed by the service. Let me start off by saying I work in the service industry, so I understand what it's like to be behind the counter. However, every time I have gone here, I have not felt welcomed by the staff. This last time I went, the lady at the counter had an extremely hostile disposition towards us upon arrival. That was already enough to bring me and my friends off, as it was apparent in her demeanor. I'm not sure if she was having a bad day, as she has been okay to me before, but I found the service entirely unacceptable. I was thinking, okay, I guess I came here for the drinks and not the service. However, when our drinks came out, they were not the usual delicious drinks I am used to receiving, they were not filled to the top, weak in syrup flavor, and had one puff of their topping. For the cost of the drinks, I do not think that this kind of quality is acceptable. I am extremely disappointed in their service, and discouraged from going again. read more

Haven is one of my new local coffee shop staples while I'm on my travel nursing assignment! Their baristas are awesome and so helpful. They recommended the Pandan iced latte the first day I came in. I had never heard of Pandan before and now I'm wondering why no other coffee shops use it! I get it every time and I'm obsessed. I love the minimalist all white look of the establishment, it looks so clean and modern. This definitely ranks as one of the top coffee shops in the area!! Fair warning before anyone comes here - there isn't a ton of seating. Maybe 6 people can sit indoors and another 10 or so outdoors. But even with that, it is absolutely worth it too stop by and pick something up! My fiancé and I came in and got an oat milk matcha latte, a drip coffee, this delicious peanut butter frosted doughnut with chocolate mousse inside, and a bacon egg and cheese sandwich. Each and everything here was absolutely divine. This has to be the best oat milk matcha in the area. I don't get any flavorings in my matchas and without any - this was definitely the most flavorful one I have had. The bacon egg and cheese was on an english muffin with chipotle mayo and he definitely out ordered me on this one - not because the doughnut wasn't good (it was AMAZING!) but because the sandwich was THAT good. Haven Café offers a variety of drink, options, sandwiches, and they have a small pastry case which they feel with goodies from the local and ever delicious Brown Bear Bakery. The café itself offers a light airy minimalist environment, decorated with plants. You can see the attached spa through the wall on the left! Keep in mind, Haven Café is more of a quick stop as there is not much seating. There is a table for two and four bench seats that are seemingly more for waiting for your beverage than sitting to enjoy your order. You will need to utilize street parking, most of it seemed metered, and you can use the local parking app to pay. I felt there was plenty of parking a available on a Friday mid morning. Including tip, I walked out of there with a large black coffee and a pastry for $12. It was delicious!! read more

This staff, vibe and food is fantastic! I am a huge fan of lavender and hunt for anything lavender flavored I can get my hands on. So when a friend told me about the lavender latte I had to try it! Unfortunately I docked 1 star because I couldn't taste the lavender at all in my latte and that's always a big upset for me :( I will have to give it a try again soon to see if that was a one off issue. But the donut had full lemon lavender flavor!! It was also gf + df, it may not have had the usual fried fluffy texture but I think it was better than most donuts I've had! I would recommend snagging one on your visit if they are in stock. They also plan on opening a nail salon on the other side sometime in late August (hopefully ) which I will be visiting! read more

It's finally a sunny afternoon that's not deceptively cold and I have the afternoon free. My social media flashes yet another friend's story of some espresso-laden drink from Haven Cafe and my afternoon plans became clear. The place itself is a hipster's dream with plants galore, a clean modern design, and super cool staff that are well-versed in all the ingredients of their delicious menu items. Today, I am feeling a smoothie and between the strawberry option with ashwaganda and the super mushroom with chaga and cinnamon, I opted for the chaga. I was not disappointed and enjoyed its velvety goodness with the warm of the sun behind me. They have two little patio sets outside since their indoor seating is currently closed. One person is attended to at a time so be prepared to wait outside to order. I also ordered the matcha donut which I would probably not choose again. Though I was happy that it wasn't overly sweet like most donuts, it did lack a bit of flavor otherwise. It was perfectly moist and a nice treat. read more

A hidden gem! Unassuming on a busy downtown street, we didn't realize Haven was open or a coffee shop until we walked right passed it. In the need for a caffeine boost, we turned around to head in and are so glad we did! The coffee was flavorful and surprisingly affordable. There are a few outdoor tables and shade provide from the taller downtown buildings. My only regret is not getting one of the chocolate chunk cookies with sea salt. Next time! read more

Haven is a cute little cafe. It's located in Covington KY. I had seen them when I first opened and knew I wanted to try them. I've tried them twice now. They are a coffee shop and should be known for their coffee/drinks. Sadly, I think the food products are better than the drinks. The thing is they buy their food products from other local bakeries/producers. I tried an Iced Mocha and an Iced Apple Pie Drink. The mocha was ok but wasn't anything special. It lacked in flavor. The Apple Pie drink didn't taste like an apple pie at all. I'm not sure what I felt like it taste like but it wasn't what the name suggested. The staff is always nice and willing to help. The other bummer is they have some dope named drinks or drinks that look good on Instagram. I'm nervous to try them again as I'm afraid the drink won't taste like what it's suppose to. I'll give it a try another time sooner or later. read more

Ok...this is THE place to get your coffee fix. First of all, it's a beautiful building and interior located in Covington. Second, they have a huge line of coffee and espresso unique to them! Starting a new tradition of trying out a different coffee shop every Saturday. This took over our Friday night date nights due to COVID. At this point we've tried almost every coffee shop in the 275 loop. Haven Cafe has been the best so far! I enjoy the limited menu so you're no overwhelmed by choices. The options are unique without being over the top. Be sure to add one of their donuts to your order. You will not be disappointed! One of the best sweet treats I've ever had. The drinks were great. My husband had the lavender charcoal latte, and I had the spiced apple. I enjoyed his more, but both were great. The coffee shop itself is simple and very clean!!!
