I went today to do homework and it was a good place to get some work done. Friendly customer service, good coffee, and good selection of treats to go with the coffee. (A little expensive but the workers and vibe make it worth it.) They have a reward program too which I like. I believe once you hit 10 stars you get something free. I've been here a few times and enjoy the vibe. Very comfortable/homey feel and it always seems like there is a place to sit down and is not over crowded. I usually just go through the drive through for their coffee but will definitely be back to get work done! read more

I love that this coffee shop/wine bar offers a variety of great menu items for food and beverage! The menu has something for everyone. I really enjoyed the hummus platter and an Iced tea on my first visit. The space is great for working or catching up with friends. There were a couple people on video calls and it quiet enough that I didn't feel like had to yell for conversation, but I also couldn't hear their convos or feel forced to whisper. There is also a super convenient drive-thru for quick fill ups. I didn't love their chai latte, but it also wasn't my least favorite. They use simple truth almond milk, which I much prefer to almond breeze. Overall, GREAT coffee shop! read more

Hyde Park is a hidden neighborhood gem. It's a great place to meet up for a cup of coffee because there is space to sit and there is parking. The drive thru is amazing! I really like this coffeehouse!! There's a lot of natural light, which is a must for me. It's a good study environment...outlets available, not crammed next to people, good noise control (not too loud, not creepy silent). Employees are so nice and bathrooms are clean. I also like that there are board games available if u want to take a break w ur study buddies! I think the only con for me is that the prices are a little bit expensive so that'd prob be the only thing keeping me from going all the time. But yes...love Hyde perk! read more

I old review got expunged from Yelp for making a complaint about their drive-thru two years ago because Yelp said they can't find proof that they have a drive-thru.... Yeah.... right .... It's not on the sign or anything. So here's the synopsis of my old review. I went to this place, waited at the window for 10 minutes without a single employee addressing that I was there. So I leave. I come back later after work (I prefer to give places second chances) and the same thing happened. I needed a place to work for a few hours so I tried it. Cute place. Good vibe. The cold brew was just okay. On my first visit, the only guy working was overwhelmed and seemed annoyed with everything. It was very busy and he was working alone so I'll cut him some slack. Today I came back first thing in the morning and his demeanor is the same. It's like the customers are an inconvenience. The space is good but I won't hurry back for the cold brew or the customer service. read more

Really enjoy this coffee shop! Most recent drink: The Nutcracker. It's staff, drinks, the added craft beer and wines available and prices are great. But the actual coffee shop itself with the cozy & comfy feel is my favorite!!! I mean, FINALLY, a coffee shop you can actually lounge at on nice, large couches. They also have multiple decent sized tables for two if you want to "keep your posture" for a quick meeting or to study/work for a cpl hrs. Most other coffee shops have the most inconvenient, uncomfortable and crammed seating- not here. They share the restrooms with Aladdins next door and they are always clean. Free Wi-Fi with quick access and a cute itty bitty patio for the warmer months with Fido. If you look on their "pin-up board", several meetings for networking, language classes, etc are also taking place here. read more

This was a decent place to go. Unlike the previous shop I went to at least they have indoor dining During Covid. The staff was very nice.

**Update: I tried this place again last week and had SUCH friendly service and a delicious latte. All is well in the world!** Whilst pulling into the parking lot, I was happy to see a sign indicating that this place has a drive-thru although it was hard to access after pulling into the front of the business. Lesson learned-- the drive thru is only accessible by driving past the plaza and entering the back alley. The barista at the window was very nice but my latte tastes salty. I've had two sips and probably won't be drinking any more of it. Disappointing! read more

I really dig the vibe of this coffee shop. The fireplace makes it very cozy, and there are even a few comfy chairs and couches (which I prefer over a hard chair and table). The staff is very friendly, and I appreciate that it's open late (10pm on a Sunday night!) Free parking is also a plus! read more

This is probably one of my favorite coffee places in Hyde Park/Oakley. The atmosphere is relaxed and the coffee/wine selection is pretty good. I always receive great service and the staff is friendly and helpful. They have free wifi and plenty of tables if you're meeting a friend for coffee or looking for a place to work outside the office. They also have $1 coffees on Friday mornings for a limited time frame! Which is a great deal for good coffee. read more

It was perfectly fine but not a place I would go to again. It's NOT a beer bar as listed which is what I wanted. It was pretty noisy with people talking inside. I wouldn't recommend this place for studying. The place was clean, decorated for yuppies, and the staff were nice enough. Love this place for early morning meetings. Its usually pretty quiet and no lines to wait in to order your drink or snack. If you do go later in the morning or afternoon it will get a little louder but still the baristas are quick enough that there probably wont be a line. I love that they are willing to make almost any drink that you want and help you figure out what you would like if youre unsure. Ive never had wine here but my favorite coffee is the iced coffee with coffee cubes and amaretto syrup. Also if they have the chocolate chip cookies in the case, you have to get one because they heat them up and a warm cookie is the perfect addition to a cup of coffee. Kidd Coffee is one of my favorite independent coffee shops in the city and I always introduce people to their new favorite when I schedule meetings here. read more

Stopped in to finish up some work Tuesday evening. I was the only one in the place but was greeted warmly and walked thru the menu options. There are quite a lot of offerings so it can feel a little overwhelming and looking at a few different signs but they are very helpful. They also have food offerings as well which not a lot of coffee places offer in the area...Lets not forget craft beer and wine! The space is beautiful, full wall flanked with windows, different seating arrangements including bars and a patio outside that looks nice and shaded. Great rustic/reclaimed interior, fun music playing and a plenty of magazines to browse. Drive thru is a plus. There a few comments below on staff but when I visited they were having a really great team meeting and it looks like they are trying really hard to build into their staff as well as put customer service as a priority along with other logistics/values, have clear direction. From throwing out suggestions to trying all of the food, It was refreshing to hear and it takes a little while to get in the groove of things. I urge you to try again! Hours are open later than some of the other places (of course early too), I did not see a sign posted. Glad to have a new local coffee shop! read more

Hyde Park is the kind of coffee shop that you would expect to see in Friends... not just because of the name. It's a coffee shop that my parents would have hung out in, and I say that in all the right ways. This is a great alternative to Starbucks (its even cheaper). They also have a rewards system, though square, which is great because honestly I don't feel like having a special card for rewards ever, mostly because I forget it. This is an easy place to stop by on the way to work in the morning (it also has a drive though). read more

Love Hyde Perk! Sure it occasionally has glitches but what place doesn't. The best assets are the employees. All are great! And let me say I have NEVER EVER had an auto-tip. EVER. They just don't do it. My only wish is more pastries. A coffee house ought to have an array of good things to eat. Seems to be short on these when I go there. And perhaps a menu on the wall placed BEFORE you roll up to the drive-up window. I would make that a critical addition. read more

Made a Yelp account to post on this place... I've only been here once and there's a reason for it. I haven't seen others commenting on what I believe to be a massive elephant in the room at Kidd Coffee and Wine. One of the first weeks it opened, I strolled in to order food and coffee. I'm not going to gripe about the food, which was alright. The coffee was average. What I couldn't shake was the smell. The entire place reeked of wet dog. I'm not sure if the place used to be a pet store, so I won't claim that. But the pungent cloud my nose detected seemed to point to a half-hearted renovation of an interior that ran amok with furry clientele in a past life. As I waited there for my food and drink to be prepared, I felt as though the heavy dank aroma was bleeding through from underneath the cosmetic dermis of this fun and trendy new shop. I couldn't imagine getting any work done here or having a relaxing glass of wine. Or bottle of wine, whatever. Made me glad my order was to-go. read more

Today I revisited Kidd Coffee & Wine on the urging of one of the owners. It was roughly 4 months back when I originally visited this establishment receiving unsatisfactory reception. I am glad to announce that they have a fresh new crew on board - both management & staff- so everything is PERFECT! Way to go. The seating area was bustling with small groups doing their daily business. Everything was in order. The young man working the counter was ahusling taking care of the orders. Only issue were- cafe au lait was way too hot at first. Don't steam milk too long. Provide cinnamon & nutmeg to top off beverages. Will return for my daily coffee when nearby read more

The good: their espresso is good and they're not using styrofoam cups anymore, so that's good! And the food is also good. Atmosphere is eclectic, comfy chairs and tables, free wifi, plenty of outlets. The bad: I would have stayed working there all afternoon, but the weirdly awful Hawaiian music was just too much. First off, love the drive through experience. You talk with someone directly instead of through a speaker, making it more personal. On Fridays the coffees are $1 from open to 9am, so I usually treat myself then :) I also love when my dog is in the car they give her a treat, always a plus in my book. I will be back! read more
