This is a great place to get some ice cream, especially if you have kids. Tucker's has so many different variations of ice cream: sundaes, shakes, sodas, swirlies, chillers, slushies, glaciers, shave ice, floats and more. The menu is large an a little overwhelming. But if you're looking for "the thing" that Tucker's is famous for, order an animal cone, which is a soft serve cone with a candy face on it. We didn't see animals cones on the menu until after we ordered, but I looked at pictures online, and they look adorable. What we did order was a cupcake milkshake (super sweet), a chocolate sundae (great), a cappuccino ice cream (it was fine) and a Dole Whip (which turned out to be pineapple-flavored soft serve, and not the vanilla ice cream with pineapple juice concoction that I'm used to). Everything we got was tasty and fun for the most part, but what makes Tucker's really cool is the outdoor seating. There are lots of tables and benches in the purple-and-green outdoor patio. It's a fun space to hang out in and get something sweet to eat on a hot day. read more

Whippy Dip, a Mason, Ohio institution, serves up some delicious soft serve ice cream treats and novelties from early Spring until mid Autumn. The staff is very friendly, their ice cream is high quality, creamy and delicious, and their portions are generous while the price is very reasonable. I am looking forward to Spring 2026 and another Whippy Dip season! read more

This establishment is now named Mason Whippy Dip due to change of ownership in 2022. Yesterday, after spending the day at a local theme park my partner and I stopped by the Mason Whippy Dip for our first visit. All I can say is KUDOS to this establishment, and THANK YOU to the Mason Whippy Dip team members who assisted us and who made our orders. This business proves that young people can and will provide a truly professional and FRIENDLY experience in a food-service setting if given the proper training and expectations. In addition to EXCELLENT SERVICE the Mason Whippy Dip provided us DELICIOUS, well-made, generously-portioned, and reasonably-priced products! I had the Peanut Butter Cup Sundae, and my partner had the Orange Creme Milkshake. Both were EXCELLENT in taste, texture, and VALUE!!! Thank you for making our first encounter better than we had hoped for. We WILL be returning soon!!! read more

Awesome ice cream and an incredible variety as well as plenty of toppings. The atmosphere is great and it is a good place to sit and eat. The workers are always helpful and nice. read more

Tucker's is Mason's best ice cream place. It has most of the usual selection. They have soft serve ice cream, hot food, and slushies. It's right in the main area of downtown. They are still cash only. It gets to be one of the busiest places in the warmer months. It's in the area to the north of the library. There's a small parking lot but there's plenty of street parking. Additionally it has a drive thru if you're in a hurry. They can get backed up so it's not always a timesaver. I had a blue raspberry slushie to help me cool off. This is about $2 for the medium size. It has limited flavors but what they have is good. All you need to bring is cash. They haven't gotten with modern times. read more

Great fun ice cream and dole whip! They also have interesting combinations like the glaciers- ice cream or dole whip and slushes. The cones can also be personalized into animals and have faces- so fun and GOOD read more

I've cream is good , service is fine. There is a nice ambiance when they have their string lights up.

Food: I've tried a few things on the menu, and have been really impressed. Great quality soft serve, and the portions are generous without being glutenous at reasonable prices. Service: Drive through lines can be a little slow, but there's one window to pay and receive your icecream. It's to be expected, and you are always greeted with a smile. Credit card adds a 50 cent surcharge to your total. Otherwise, bring cash. Facilities: There are some outdoor tables that are currently removed due to COVID. There is a drive through and a walk up window. Parking lot/drive through is a little rough, with some pot holes, but it's functional. read more

We love the ice cream and other frozen treats at Tucker's Whippy Dip. Ice cream is fresh, creamy and sweet just like you'd expect. There is parking next to the building and service is generally quick. They have benches and tables in front so you can sit and enjoy your treat while watching traffic drive up and down main street. You always know it's summer in Mason when the Whippy Dip opens! read more

Your typical neighborhood ice cream shop, but better. Why you ask? Their prices are very reasonable and the toppings are fresh. They have a weekly flavor that changes as well as the standard chocolate and vanilla soft serve. There is a drive through as well as a walk up window. It is important to note that they take cash only, no credit cards! read more

Perfect for a little walk up ice cream shop. For ice cream cones you have a choice of vanilla, chocolate or the flavor of the week which was raspberry. You can get it dipped in a few different flavors, with sprinkles or nuts, with gummies, as candy animals, and possibly other options. We each ordered a cone. My son got his as a white horse which put a larger smile on his face than just getting the traditional twist cone. Staff was super friendly and service was speedy. read more

I love old school ice cream places. This was a great stop after the Western Southern Open Tennis Tournament. I've been working through all the ice cream places in Cincinnati and this is well worth the trip. Get the jimmies! read more

What a fun little place! Fantastic customer service - cannot say enough good things about the kids who worked there. They were SLAMMED but we're courteous and helpful to everyone! Bravo! All the ice cream was delicious, and everyone in our large group was pleased with our choices. The animal ice cream cones were a big hit with my 4 year old! Large portions, good amount of toppings. The only thing that would make this place better is LIGHTING. It's all outdoor seating, but there's hardly any light despite it being a rather large seating area. read more

As a Mason resident, Whippy Dip is the only place to get ice cream (I guess Graeter's is acceptable too...). Why? Because Whippy Dip is sooooo inexpensive and so fun! Every worker there goes to Mason High School, and it gives it this really wonderful summer vacation vibe that feels perfect when you're eating a giant soft serve. Unfortunately, I could feel myself aging as I went back every summer knowing fewer and fewer of the workers. Whippy Dip has great ice cream options--frozen bananas, cheesecake bits, wow cows, frozen cappucinos--and best of all, they make animals! You can literally request anything you want and the worker will do their best ice cream artistic interpretation of your request--my go-to is either a unicorn or an octopus. Basically, the staff of high school kids will try their best to make anything you want, just don't be a diva about it (because probably a little league team will be impatiently waiting behind you). Also, drive-thru option, wooo! If you can't find a place to park, park across the street behind the Mason Grill. read more

A really great place for soft serve ice cream. Family atmosphere and quick service. Prices are really reasonable and the serving sizes are way more than you need. We get the small size vanilla mixer with one ingredient and it fills us up and then some. Parking is a bit hard to find on busy evenings/ weekends. You can use the Parking lot across the street behind the diner but you either have to navigate the crosswalk or risk a hasty run through traffic on 42. Drive thru is another option. We never use it cause the driver can't eat and drive at the same time. read more

Tucker's Whippy Dip was stop #2 on our summer tour of creamy whips. It's in "old" Mason just down the street from Wildflower Cafe. We decided to meet friends who lived right around the corner for a quick treat. A rare opportunity to hang with our suburban friends! Despite having a map in hand, we somehow managed to drive past it twice. Tucker's sits back from the road a bit and is tucked in closely beside a gas station and other retail. The space isn't anything special. Very white. A few outdoor picnic tables and bench seating. We shared the space with a team from a local soccer tournament, and it was pretty cramped. Tucker's has a decent selection of frozen treats, though maybe not as much as other places we visited later in our quest. The soft serve is good and priced pretty well. One important note. Tucker's is cash only! Our friends made this mistake, but luckily we had extra cash on us to lend. In the end, there was nothing special about our visit that made the drive to Mason a must. It's certainly somewhere to stop on a hot summer day if you happen to already be in the area. read more

Usually good but they need to improve their efficiency. We are 5 months into Covid. Consider buying some walkie talkies and taking preorders. Once you are in line you can't get out. You are trapped. It took us 24 min, from start to finish. read more

Great service, great ice cream. Minus one star because tucker is the name of my asshole cat who I hate.

The ice cream is bland! It just has no flavor. I assume they are injecting a lot of air to make the mix go further, but this creates a tasteless product. The Dairy Queen has more flavor, and that is saying a lot since they are low on my list! I had a hot fudge sundae and the hot fudge was even weak! My wife had a caramel sundae and I asked how hers was before I commented and she said, "extremely tasteless." I was amazed at the crowed size being so large for such bad ice cream, but a quick google search showed there isn't any competition. Sounds like a good opportunity for somebody!! read more

Completely average. The establishment is definitely more geared towards children and families, which is completely fine. However, I wouldn't be expecting anything great. It's really inconvenient that they only accept cash especially with how expensive their ice cream is. You're going to be paying close to Graeter's prices for this place. Plenty of other similar ice cream places in the area that may be worth an extra drive to go there. It seems as though outside of families, people mostly go for nostalgic purposes instead of for the food. read more

Solid frozen yogurt that has lots of fun variety (especially for the kids). Reco the wow cow (ok even if lactose intolerant) with the strawberries/banana. They can blend in 'add ins' like a McFlurry or Blizzard. Highly recommend as a summer treat. read more

This is our family's favorite soft serve ice cream location. They will make your child (or you) an ice cream sundae that looks like any animal or character. My son typically asks for an obscure Pokémon of skylander character. The workers are usually happy to investigate the request on their phones and do their best to create it using ice cream, gummy worms, graham crackers and youthful creativity. FYI there is no indoor seating and I believe no public restroom. They are only open during warm months. read more

My love of Whippy Dip runs deep. As a former Mason resident, and MHS graduate (go Comets), this was THE spot as a youngster. And, it seems like that hasn't changed much for the young Comet crowd. It can get pretty packed with families and youth soccer teams, which doesn't help with the parking situation -- which can be an issue in the steamy summer months. But, they've expanded the lot behind Little Rascals across the street, so it's not as limited as it used to be. You also have to get past the fact that it's cash-only, and just accept it for local delicacy that it is. As for the menu, I can't say I've ventured off the menu, but the Oreo Wow Cow Swirlie is legit. "What's Wow Cow," you ask? Only the best low cal ice cream option ever. Seriously, I cannot taste a difference between that and the regular soft serve, so don't even tell me that you can. Even though I've grown up and moved away from Comet Country, Whippy will always have a special place in my heart, and I may or may not make special trips to taste it in all its glory. read more

WELL WELL WELL. I TOOK A nice little trip to whippy dip last friday with my two sons, one daughter, and two wives of mine for a nice treat after Luke's baseball game as I am a father. I was being served by a young lady named Bruce. Very plain, very lovely. And behind my very nice interaction with Miss. Bruce was a man who was being downright belligerent. He was shouting on about swirleys and swirley money oh it was just heinous. Miss and I had to both bend over the counter and should in each other's ear to talk. It felt like the-- oh well I don't want to go into every detail of the interaction. The little rascal is going to bed and I will have to help with the bed sequence because I am a father and a 44 year old. Anyways, it was very strange. Very uncomfortable. Eventually my discomfort was quelled by some bomb ass ice cream that looked like Cuba Gooding Jr.. Overall. It was one of the most jarring and unsettling experiences of my adult life as I am an adult, however the name of this zoo sounds like the word a kindergartener teacher has to use in place of the actual swear words around her kids because she doesn't want them to hear that. So. a 5/5 as good as it gets down here in Mason Ohio which is where I live, I live in Ohio! read more

Such a cute concept! Limited flavors and toppings but they make up for it in novelty. Love the characters and creative designs they can make. Definitely great family fun especially for young kids. Only concern is that the drive thru passes on both sides of the shoppe so you have to be very careful coming and going. read more

I really enjoy Whippy Dip! Anyone in this area knows that Whippy Dip has some nearby "rivals" with fiercely loyal supporters, but I think Whippy Dip holds its own against them. It is my personal favorite of the surrounding ice cream joints. Parking is a little cramped at the store itself, but I've seen people just park in the adjoining dry cleaners or across the street. You can also use the drive-thru here, which is always incredibly tempting as I drive past it on my way to I-71. The soft serve is as good as soft serve gets. I am a huge fan of the peanut butter cup sundae, which is what puts Whippy Dip above its competition for me. Bring cash, since they don't do credit card. I'm not sure why this is a big surprise to anyone -- most non-chain ice cream joints I've been to don't accept credit card for whatever reason. Unless I'm going to Graeters, I leave the CC at home and bring cash instead. The prices are comparable to other ice cream stands and there's usually a good crowd here, but I've never seen it -too- crowded like at their competition. If you've not been here yet, stop by and try it! Grab a bowl or cone and walk down the pleasant downtown Mason streets. read more

A true mason experience...really friendly service! Like any swirly, good amount of extras.

Best ice cream in Mason. The definition of hometown ice cream. Hot fudge sundae was on point. Highly recommend if looking for local options!
