Stopped on Wednesday for after 1st day of school treat. Approx 5pm. This year we have only had the Lil Goodie Shoppee one other time but last summer we visited approx 6 times. Learned our lesson when eating at an ice cream shop to order only ice cream. The ice cream is always perfect tasting & at a good price. This time we ordered 3 hotdogs & a pretzel. We received 1 hot dog / 1 foot long/ 1 pretzel. The pretzel was a little hard and dry. The footlong was gray outside/pink inside & the hot dog was ate by my husband before I could even ask although he said his stomach was bubbling after. I spoke with the girl at the counter about the footlong and she said she could give us a new one although I didn't want another one that could be bad as well. I just was skeptical after looking at it & tasting it. The taste was off & the color was off. I trashed it. Amazing family owned ice cream shop + salty snacks! It felt so nostalgic with the creamy yogurt ice cream. The parfait was absolutely stunning! It's very peanut buttery, if that's your thing. Had to take a pit stop on my way home found this gem! Sitting on the side of the road you get a great view of all the cool guys with loud mufflers and super cool motorcycles, now keys get to the ice cream, silky smooth soft serve atop a sugar cone delicious, a bowl of vanilla soft serve with sprinkles, wonderful, banana split was bountiful, with just the perfect amount of ice cream to banana to chocolate ratios, spot on. The parking lot will tell you all you need to know. It's always packed and if it was bigger even more people would probably come. It is worth the wait though! They offer a rewards program which isn't common with the creamy whips around here so that's a nice added bonus. They are currently running a special where you can take a yard sign and earn a gift card. There are a few food options and the chili is Cincinnati style and delicious. There are a few non dairy options like dole whip and slushies. The best dish I've had here is the Reese Cup parfait. Mine is pictured without whip cream but it comes with it if you like. This place is a staple on the west side and will certainly be found with a line of cars lining the adjacent street waiting to enter the drive thru. Personally, I think their cheese coney dogs are the most underrated thing on the menu. I ate a couple before I could get a pic because their so amazing, and they're not puny like the skyline or gold star ones and the flavor of their chili is simply excellent. (Not your typical 'chili sauce') All of their staff are extremely friendly and they also offer a weekly, rotational change of flavors of ice cream as well as dole whip. My personal favorite is watermelon. In addition to all of this, DO sign up for their rewards program you get $5 off when you eventually order $50 worth of product which you will certainly do after giving this place an initial try. read more

Me and my 11 precious children visited this lovely establishment during one of our little homeschool fall outings lol. My oldest was bewildered by the coldness of the ice cream. I promptly scolded my misguided boy Telling him "ice cream is supposed to freeze your tongue off silly goose"! On the other hand, my sweet hubby Gerald was flirritant with all of the counter girls (even sillier goose ). No ice cream for him (jk as my daughter says). As a mom, I appreciate that We had the option of take-out because my kids get a little rowdy in outdoor seating (can I get an amen moms ). It's got a great covered patio with picnic tables so even if it's sprinkling a bit, you can stay nice and dry. It can get busy, so be prepared to wait, especially at the drive-thru. This is a good soft serve ice cream shack. Is it Cincinnati's best? No, but it's nice and gets the job done. They usually have two yogurt flavors you can swirl which is cool. They also do the flavor burst thing which my niece and nephew like. The menu is very straightforward and organized. Not every creamy whip is like that. But I find the posters everywhere a little overwhelming. Can I get pineapple soft serve? Or is that just an old poster? I can't be too sure. This place also has a drive through. It would be faster if you just parked and walked up to the window (based on how the line moved while we enjoyed our ice cream outside). You also cut down on your car spewing emissions while waiting and get to interact with the wonderful little community that is created on the picnic benches. read more

This little goodie of a shop has more than just soft serve. The Lil Goodie Shoppe has dipped cones, sundaes, soft pretzels, hamburgers, hot dogs, and a few other goodies that escape me right now. We only went for the soft serve. I got the coffee & cream. I really enjoyed the initial flavor. Once the flavor stripe/ swirls are gone so is much of the flavor. I was left with a light coffee and mostly cream flavor. Still a nice cone. A little creamier than some other soft serves I have tried. The kids liked their blue goo & green apple cones. My husband wasn't wowed by the bowl of strawberry shortcake he got. He would have rather have had a cone. It was a nice treat on a warm summer day. For those on the go, they have a drive up window. Very disappointed in the customer service we received tonight. We've come for several years with our kids and other members of the family and likely they've lost our business for good. The girls working tonight were EXTREMELY unfriendly and blatantly ignored me when I stood at the window asking for napkins. They stared directly at me. Also a little odd there's no napkins sitting out available for people to grab. The garbage cans were overflowing as well. It's sad how poor the work ethic is among the employees and also just plain lack of social skills. I would understand more if they were slammed busy, but they weren't. This little shop is just around the corner from where the wifey's family lives, down Springdale road. It has a drive through and a good amount of parking. There is outdoor park bench style seating with umbrella coverings. Lil Goodie has all sorts of ice creams and fair type foods. The wife said the Glacier was the best but neither of us got it on this trip. I had a chocolate shake and she had the chocolate ice cream cone with chocolate sprinkles. Everything was good. A plus is that they have a public water fountain on the outside of the building to wash down everything you just ate. read more

This place was great! It has a great setup for kids. I remember when I started going here as a kid in the early 90s and they have all the fun ice creams they make setup in the window. Things like "The Cookie Monster" Or "The Clown" they just take the ice cream and make it fun for the kids. This is the BEST soft serve ice cream in Cincinnati! I always buy a plain vanilla cone, it tastes ultra creamy and is well worth the money. When a dairy bar gets the vanilla ice cream right everything else on the menu tastes even better! I've never had a bad item here. They are your typical cute mom&pop owned soft serve ice cream shop. They have a lot of options as far as sugar free, low carb, frozen yogurt, sorbet, and the like. The ice cream flavors are pretty basic, but I think that's how most soft serve places are. They have great sundaes, floats, freezes, ice cream sodas, and shakes. I went there one time wanting my favorite ice cream soda from a big name chain and they were able to make it as good as I've ever had it from the chain. The owners and workers are super friendly, service is great. You can tell it's a local favorite because on hot summer days there's somewhat of a line. It's open from spring til fall, closed in the winter. It's definitely worth a stop if you're driving on 74 past the Harrison Ave exit. read more
