This is just kind of one of those classic neighborhood ice cream spots that everybody knows and loves. The prices are very reasonable, the seating area is lovely, and the service is fast and efficient. read more

Please watch you change when getting it back They rip you off. I got a medium twist that looked like a small the price was 3.85. I gave her a 20 and my change was 11.15 that was rolled up so you couldn't count it while you where there. read more

What a great summer spot. Always great energy for the family from this outdoor walk up ice cream stand. This is a real Cincinnati experience. There used to be so many more the these neighborhood ice cream stands, this one remains due to its commitment to quality and value. They closed last week for the season, the summer passed too fast, but I can't wait for them to open in the spring. read more

Zip dip is a fun little soft serve ice cream Shop in the west side. Friendly service. Quick and good. Lots of seating around and even porch swings. Can be had to find parking but there is plenty on the street. I got the chocolate malt and it was delicious read more

Quick service. Great for families. Employees patient with little ones figuring out what they want. Kid sized cones... always a plus !!

This place is awesome for creamies. They alternate their flavors and have a crazy big amount of toppings. The staff is always so sweet and helpful as well. 10/10 Would recommend! read more

A nice seasonal ice cream shop good classics of a nice local stop and eat place to enjoy ice cream on the go or relaxing near it. The service is great and very friendly. read more

Zip Dip is another good ice cream stand. It has much of the very same offerings the others do. This one is in a pleasant location. It has a nice seating area. The parking lot is crappy. I had a cotton candy slushie. It's a flavor not many dairy bars have. This is about $2 for a medium. A lot of ice cream flavors are here. There are more than 50 flavors, with many of them common and some odd ones. It has a nice seating area. There's a few tables and a porch swing. I recommend this for anyone who likes these small ice cream places. It's better than going to a worldwide chain. The service always is cheerful but not excessive. read more

Love this place located off Harrison Avenue near Race in Cincinnati, Ohio. One of my favorite summer soft serve ice cream spots. 4050 Drew Avenue Lots of variety and friendly service with good prices. read more

A small walk-up stand with two order windows. Zip Dip has been a favorite of Westsiders for generations. A Westside institution really. After passing this stand on numberous occasions, we finally decided to give this stand a try. Topping and mix-in selection is plentiful at Zip Dip. Candy, cookies, sprinkles, nuts, dips and sauces are all available. Several flavors of Whirlybird granola are also now available. There are far more options in that department then flavors of soft serve. Chocolate and vanilla are standard, with two revolving specialty flavors. I prefer my soft serve without toppings. As such, a small flavor selection is a drawback for me. That being said, the chocolate soft serve is rich, creamy and smooth. One of the better chocolate soft serves I have tried. A strong chocolate flavor. Bench seating is available on either side of the building. Tables and a swing are available on the other side of the parking lot. Some of the tables are shaded. At busy times, it can be hard to find parking. read more

Excellent. Best soft serve I've ever had. Great menu. There are a lot of selections. I highly recommend. A+

It's easy to pass by this tiny West Side establishment, but its pastel colors and neon border will grab your eye. Soon enough, you'll be pulling a U-turn into their parking lot. Zip Dip dishes out over 50 different kinds of soft serve, from your traditional flavors to the more eccentric. If you know me, I always opt for the eccentric. At Zip Dip, this would be the crème brûlée soft serve. Then I got really adventurous and went with a crème brûlée milkshake. It was incredible! I highly recommend giving it a try, if you're bored with the classic flavors. I can also recommend the regular chocolate shake, which is just the right combination of cream and liquidy to be a thirst quencher. Zip Dip's "small" shake starts at 16 oz., which is more than enough milkshake for me. Wearing your elastic pants? They serve milkshakes in 44oz cups. That's almost three pounds of beverage! Zip Dip has been a West Side legacy since 1950. Stop by and become part of its history today! Price per person: $3.00 read more

Zip Dip - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Cincinnati, Ohio

Zip Dip is great! My preference for frozen yogurt/ice cream on the west side. I know there are a lot of places like this around Cincinnati and when it's hot and humid in the summer, this is my only answer to combat the impending misery (I am bad at summer weather here). Zip Dip and the pool, I guess, are my saving graces. Reasons to willingly go outside ;) There are teens that work here, but they are surprisingly good a managing lines and looking like they care. It's a good crew and really friendly to interact with. They use pen and paper to take orders (drawing boxes around them when complete) and hand calculations for transactions. A nice throwback to a time when cash registers and debit cards weren't required. On that note: cash only, be prepared. The area around Zip Dip includes tables, a swing, and angled retaining walls to rest your legs while you enjoy your sweet treats. My favorite order is the peanut butter frozen yogurt, a sundae with peanut butter sauce, or any cone combination that might sound interesting or tasty on a given day. A real treasure, an step back in time, give Zip Dip a try! read more

Zip Dip - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Cincinnati, Ohio

Fun little ice cream stand with a really nice outdoor sitting area - off to the side with newer picnic tables and a "porch" swing. They have a great variety and everything I've gotten has had great flavor - better than some other creamy whips I've tried. They also always have two flavors of low fat / non-fat yogurt that my friends love (I like the full fat stuff!) The staff is always friendly and the service is fast read more

Another West Side institution, Zip Dip has been a favorite of our family for years, after a baseball game on a Saturday afternoon the place to be to cool down was Zip Dip, anytime we wanted ice cream we pleaded with mom and dad to take us to Zip Dip. The menu items have remained the same, and I love it. I loved getting a cherry dipped cone or a soft serve in a mini baseball helmet with jimmies. Anytime I travel over to the West Side now, a must stop is Zip Dip. read more

Best ice cream of my life and I would know ice cream because I'm banned from a little place called Ben & Jerry's ice cream Inc.

Delicious ice cream at a great price. They had vanilla and orange when I went.

I teach within walking distance of Zip Dip.... Each year there is a countdown in our office for when Zip Dip opens! That really is the first sign of spring! This is my favorite of all the creamy whip's in town! Go there if its been a particularly bad day at work, or its a Friday, or its sunny..... really any excuse.... Their blizzards are the best! Ask for an extra scoop of candy if you really want to kick it up a notch! I also like their low-cal soft serve options, flavors change regularly and are always posted on a sign out front. Add some fruit and don't feel too bad about the calories! Parking is always at a premium in their lot! I recommend parking on the side road itself. There is always plenty of seating especially since they added a whole mess of picnic tables a couple of years ago. There will ALWAYS be a line, but it moves fast. Definitely try to get your butt here as soon as you see the flowers popping out of the ground! read more

My favorite ice cream place! Their flurry's are so good and the service is quick. The long lines don't bother me because they are able to speed through the lines. read more

Ah, the Zip Dip Creamy Whip. Fun to say, right? This place has a ton of character. Great neon signage, a laid back West Side crowd, and a big selection of frozen goodies. The stars of the show are their weekly rotating flavors of ice cream and frozen yogurt, as well as my favorite, the malts. The chocolate malts that I've had from Zip Dip are the best I've had in the city. Extra malty and rich. Overall, the ice cream here is good, but the portions are the smallest of any creamy whip on our summer quest. That's a bit discouraging, sine they are towards the high end of the creamy whip price range. As well, parking and seating is extremely tight here. On a busy night, parking down a residential street and taking your treats to go is a must. read more

I've been getting cones here since I was a wee lass, and trust me, that was many MANY years ago. Since then, I've tried soft serve all over the city, but this is always in the top 2. Unlike the other shop in my top 2, Putz', ZipDip features a machine packed with Orange Sherbet and Vanilla Ice Cream EVERY DAY. So on those hot hot summer days a creamsicle cone is never far away. The mix on the ice cream is always spot on, and the sundae toppings are excellent. I've only ordered the yogurt a few times, but it was pretty good for yogurt, and changes regularly. If you have your furry friends with you, ask for a puppy sundae: a swirl of vanilla softserve topped with a milk bone. read more

Putz's will always be my one and only creamy whip. But when I can't stand to make the trek down Montana Ave, I grab my ice cream fix from Zip Dip. I particularly like the variety of mix-in items for Blizzards (cyclones, flurries, whatever they call them). My favorite is Crunch Bars (I've never seen them anywhere else). I like their logo and the fact that they sell merchandise. Why doesn't Putz's do that? I also like their rewards program. You get a punch card and every time you make a purchase you get one punch. There are different reward levels corresponding to how many punches you have. I like that I get rewarded for every purchase. read more

4 months in the States and I thought I started to fit in. Think again. I just stood there, staring at all the different types of icecream and none of them made sense to me. Blizzard, malt...? Say what? My fellow Yelpers tried to explain to me but most of it got lost in translation. I even think I heard that there is an icecream combined with coke? Errrm, right. I decided to go for a small chocolate icecream that has marshmallow in it too (sorry, forgot the name :s). It was nice. I was overwhelmed by the different choices and thought it was great to discover this American icecream roadshop. The ice itself however... hmmm, how to explain? I guess I'm used to fresh, Italian ice, with bits and pieces in there. Not the soft ice I got. So, 4 stars for the concept, but probably need to try out a few more flavors before I really get something that I adore! read more

It's not a place you want to come to when they are busy. the parking here is horrible and people will illegally park at the inner section (which is very dangerous since it's hard to see around that corner) far as the ice cream goes? it's just average.. nothing stand out about it at all. read more

Perfect for a good old fashion soft serve. Had a chocolate dipped chocolate come and it was perfection. Exactly what I was craving. We will be back when we are wanting soft serve. Also their picnic area is very nice. Always clean and well kept. read more

I liked Zip Dip, but I didn't necessarily love it. A lot of creamy whips tend to have very similar menu items and tastes, and Zip Dip resides somewhere in the middle, as there wasn't one specific thing about the experience that stood out. I got there, ordered my standard chocolate/vanilla zebra cone with chocolate sprinkles, and was on my way. I liked Zip Dip, and I'd absolutely have it again if I am to be in the neighborhood (which isn't often), but I wouldn't say it really has that joie de vivre that really sets it apart. read more

This place has the nostalgia that Dairy Queen could only wish to have. My first time here I ordered the milk chocolate shake. I was not disappointed, it was exactly what I was craving. Seems like a great place to go to if you are sitting around on a week night with a hankering for some ice cream. I will definitely be going back to sample some more of their menu. read more

Pure Americana. Neon lights, simple eats and a smorgasbord of various ice cream treats. I got a simple soft-serve chocolate waffle cone. Just about perfect for the end of a hot summer day. Others seemed pleased with their treats also. The portions were huge. I was eating after a heavy dinner and just wanted a taste of something sweet. That order I mentioned above seemed like the smallest and least expensive thing on the menu. I thought I'd get a cute little cone. Nope. This was a large in my book. For $3. Great deal but more than I was looking for. Sure, I could have only eaten half but, come on, no way that was going to happen. I ate it right down to the point of the cone. read more

Just reopened after the winter! Their soft serve is so of the best around. You can't go wrong, but I tend to go for the classic vanilla cone. Creamy, generous serving. The best thing to make your day. Not many people there right now but I could see how parking may become an issue in the busy summer months. Prices can't be beat either. read more

Love Zip Dip! Definitely a west side staple. Their soft serve is the best. Price is right, their portions are generous as well. All different kinds of combinations you can create, even off the menu which is fun! Staff is nice and friendly. You can even get a rewards card towards different treats. It's a popular place, so the only downside is parking, though you can always find a spot on the street if not in their parking lot. If you're craving soft serve its the place to be! read more

Even though I'm the biggest fan of real ice cream, I still enjoy the creamy whip occasionally. Zip Dip is a west side staple - open seasonally and packed with nostalgia in every bite. There's plenty of seating outside, prices are awesome and it's a fun way to get a cool treat (plus, they have awesome frozen yogurt flavors). My usual order at Zip Dip? Vanilla (or if I like the frozen yog flavor, I'll get that) With raspberry sauce and chocolate sprinkles. Hey, I love sprinkles! I love seeing small, family owned businesses thrive and Zip Dip is proving that we all crave recreating childhood memories through ice cream. read more

Always a good time! Good price, delicious ice cream, fun experience. Wish the location was a little better. I don't love that's it really close to a busy road, but not a lot you can do about that! The staff is usually a high school kid, but they've always been attentive and gotten our order correct. I love their blizzards!! Writing this review is making me want to go right now! Definitely a family friendly place and fun! read more

The ice cream is okay, but a little dry and tasteless. Service and staff is also decent. Prices are way above average, so that's a plus!

After a long fun day at Miami Whitewater Forest I was craving a small snack and some Ice Cream. Google pulled this up, the reviews looked good, so we set out to find it. I ordered a mixed Ice Cream Cone (Chocolate and Vanilla) with a Cheeseburger. My mom who was with me and visiting from San Diego got a Chocolate Shake. The Ice Cream was delicious! I wasn't expecting much from my Hamburger just because it is an Ice Cream place but even that was down right yummy! I've actually been craving it now for a few days. So I can't wait to make another visit to the park and stop by here on the way home. They also have a little stamp rewards system too where so many visits gets you something half off I think or free. I totally suggest stopping and checking this place out. read more

Zip Dip is your classic ice cream stand with the best kind of ice cream in my opinion, soft serve! I really enjoy stopping here around 7 to 8 pm on spring / late summer night and having a cone while swinging away and watching the traffic go by on Harrison Ave. Locally owned and they do a great job. read more

First visit, ordered a hot dog, bread was stale and hard. I understand it's an ice cream place, but serving a hard bun is a reflection of service. Second visit, ordered the brownie sundae. Brownie was also hard, I don't know if they microwaved it too long or it was old to begin with. The sundae was also sloppy-made. Third visit, ordered an ice cream orange slush mix, horrible. That was my fault, I was expecting it to taste like Sonic's cream slush; they don't use the same ingredients apparently. Haven't been back since. read more

This is probably my favorite ice cream place in town. My family and I always go here during the summer. Great place to go to just have a cone and chill out. read more

Meh. I know it's a west side staple and I have family who are out of town who LOVE this place and make trips to eat it but I feel like the ice cream is super generic and the last time we went there they messed my order up and were extremely rude about it. Also the parking situation is awful, but honestly they can't do much about that. Anyhow, there are better options! read more
