Solid soft serve! You get what you expect and it doesn't miss. The service was quick and friendly. The shop is inviting and offers a ton of options to choose from!

Very good Nice customer service even when they have a line it goes quick. We come from the east side (20-25 min) and it's worth it.

It doesn't have a huge menu or a bunch of fancy flavors but it has friendly service and soft serve cones. This is a neighborhood creamy whip that's usually busy with all the locals from our community. We stopped by last night after dinner to get my grandson some ice cream and we had small chocolate cones with him. Perfect little treat on a nice evening!

Don's is the best ice cream place in Reading. It sure looks like it judging by the line. This place was hopping that night. It has ice cream, cold drinks, and hot food. The outdoor seating area is bigger and better than many others. I had a watermelon slushie. It's about $2 for a medium. This is pretty large though. It seems to attract large crowds. The seating area is big enough to handle them. It also has many tables with umbrellas on the patio. This is a luxury which isn't seen at most other local ice cream places. It has a small parking lot but there's plenty of room on the nearby streets. It has prices better than national chains. This is still cash only.

The ice cream here was so creamy and delicious. I ordered the small swirl sundae with whipped cream, nuts and hot fudge and I could not stop eating it. I'd have to say one of the better ice creams I had and there were several tables to sit at. Definitely recommend checking them out.

We were in search of some ice cream when we were in the area. We decided to check out Don's Creamy Whip. The lady working was very friendly and helpful. My son was so excited to get the blueberry ice cream with sprinkles. I got the zebra (chocolate & vanilla twist) in a cup and hubby had the hot fudge sundae. We all enjoyed it very much. It was creamy and delicious! Worth going a bit out of our way!

Came here a few weeks ago after dinner for a cherry dip top. Drove right past the place, but then circled back around and glad that I did. The prices were very reasonable as my cherry dip top was 2.25 and very good. The girls working were nice. Don's creamy whip is a 15 min drive for me, but I would and will make it again. They only accept cash.

What do you do on a perfect summer's day, when there's just enough breeze to make the heat tolerable and you just want to stare up at the pure cobalt sky, feeling the sun on your skin? Have a mini picnic with the best treat, ice cream. At Don's Creamy Whip, generations of kids (including my husband) have been getting their sweet tooth tamed with soft serve, sundaes, slushies, ice cream cookie sandwiches, dip tops and more. Don's even serves up hot food most days, including hot dogs and hamburgers. My husband got his life-long usual dish (going all the way back to post baseball and football game treat time in his childhood). His beloved is always vanilla softserve with rainbow sprinkles. Of course he gave it thumbs up. I had zebra softserve with a chocolate diptop. The ice cream was amazing, but I've had better diptops. I am, however, looking forward to trying other items, a pretzel cone, watermelon slushie, and a cookie sandwich.

Busy. It's just ice cream. Not Putz's but still I very small town feel ice cream station. I would go again. I wouldn't rush back.

My only suggestion is that it could have been served a little hotter, especially since it comes on a sizzling hot plate. We stopped by on a random weekday around 11 a.m., and the diner was already bustling with customers. Even so, we were seated almost immediately. By noon, there was a noticeable line out the door waiting for tables. On a regular weekday, that's a pretty good sign that this place is a local favorite. You can really tell this is the kind of diner people return to again and again. It feels like generations of families have made it their go-to lunch spot, and it's wonderful to see a neighborhood restaurant with that kind of loyal following. The staff was warm, welcoming, and attentive, checking in throughout our meal to make sure everything was good. I can definitely see why this diner is so well loved.

They have a wide selection of various options, it has much more than outstanding chili. The place is very welcoming and inviting to all. We started of with the two of the Bavarian Pretzel with chili and beer cheese For my main course I opted for the Boss Hogg BBQ Burger, which is a 1/3lb. burger topped with pulled pork, BBQ sauce, bacon, Cheddar cheese, crispy onion. straws, pickles and mayo. My wife chose the Avocado BLT Burger which is a 1/3 lb. burger with sauteed onions, avocado, crisp bacon, lettuce, tomato, Pepperjack cheese, and mayo. Both were outstanding. She had the onion rings as a side, while I went with the Fried Jalapeño Caps with the Southwest sauce. They have a wide range of options other that chili. But if you love chili and you are in the area one place to consider is this place, the draw here is the "No Freakin' Way" Challenge is a legendary 8-lb food challenge The massive platter consists of four main ingredients: 2.5 lbs of steaming spaghetti, 2.5 lbs of their signature Cincinnati chili, 2 lbs of shredded cheddar cheese, topped with 1 lb of fried, pickled jalapeño caps. It is a true test of one's metal. You have 60 minutes to complete the challenge, if you fail you will not only have to pay the nearly $80 dollar price tag, you will be added to the "Wall of Shame". To me the risk was just not worth it. Although may have tried. If you are risk taker who enjoys food comeption, this challenge is for you!

So veer left and you'll be just fine. Wouldn't be a problem on future visits but mentionable nonetheless. Walk in and it looks like a good ole skyline store. Folks working here are super friendly and were incredibly helpful. Now on to the best part... the amount of cheese on their coneys and wrap are just what you remember from 10-15yrs ago. Anymore it seems like corporate has made the amount of cheese so little it's the main reason I don't frequent Skyline nearly as much as I used to. The cost for coneys and the pitiful amount of cheese&chili are borderline offensive. This store made me remember the old days with how it was plated. You could feel the love from the folks running the build stations. Will I go back even though I hate the kenwood area, those who know, they know what I'm talking about. The location is easy to access from the interstate (I was on a road trip) and convenient to return to my route from. The hot dogs were expertly prepared and exactly what I hope for from a Skyline Chili location. If only the mom with three totally normal children could have relaxed a little and backed off correcting every little thing her children did (which was not disturbing other patrons or customers. . .) then the whole experience would have been perfect. I know the restaurant isn't responsible for their customers' behavior, but still. . .in the 2026th year of our Lord, I'd sad that some parents still remain harsh.

When you leave, they give you one color of a long piece of wood. When you pay your bill, they exchange it for a different color to confirm you did in fact eat at Skyline. When we walked in to the restaurant, I tried to hand the person that greeted us the wood and she gave me an attitude about it. Being our first time there I had no idea when the exchange actually took place. The place was packed, but we were able to be seated right away. Our server wasn't the friendliest. She asked if we had been to Skyline before and when my daughter said "yes" she said "when why haven't you ordered" We ordered and moments later, we got our food. But it was basically thrown at us. When my daughter asked for more oyster crackers, she was told that she could get some, but if we wanted more she could buy a box at the checkout. The food itself was the awesome skyline that it always is. Great flavor, lots of cheese and all around delicious. Many servers walked past our table several times, but no one checked on us, and when we flagged someone down to ask about getting our waters refilled, she again gave us attitude and had someone else bring it over. When we checked out, I had a question about pricing on a shirt and a sticker. The person at the register was very terse and said "I don't know, why don't you look and see if it is on the item" (it wasn't). So they looked it up but weren't happy about it. They also didn't seem happy that I asked for a bag for my leftovers. The register is the magic place that you exchanged for the other color of wood. Overall, the food is the same great Skyline experience you get other places, but the service and attitudes were pretty awful.
