Updating my review. It's been 8 years since I've dined here. My Mr. and I came here when they first opened up. They were only serving burgers at the time. My friend was looking for some vegan options nearby and this popped up on her search. So, I was happy to hear that they expanded their menu. Now they have vegan options, wings, starters, kids menu and shakes. They also have beers on tap. I ordered the vegan coney Bennett on pretzel bun with fries. And my friend ordered the chicken wrappers delight with fries. We came during lunch rush so they were busy. My meal was great. It's been awhile since I've had a vegan hot dog. I would like to have witnessed the brainstorming session when the founder of Tickle Pickle devised the menu---all puns on the names of musicians or bands. Bread Zepplin. Meatallica. Nom Petty. Today, I tried the Big Mac Miller -- TP's [far superior] version of Ray Kroc's two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onion on a sesame seed bun. I would have slain the Hamburglar had he tried. (Stand my ground beef!). My husband had the Red Hot Chili Peppers. As the name implies, his burger packed a punch. I had the Slaytar and it was messy but very tasty. I loved the pretzel bun with this sandwich which helped it stay together. The fries were homemade and spiced well. I loved the fries. My wife had the Grateful Shred. She's not a person who likes spicy food and she was told it wasn't really spicy so she kept it on her sandwich. She was glad she did as the flavor went with the pulled pork. This was a messy sandwich as well. They have napkin dispensers at the tables which was used a lot. I eat here all the time and I (mostly) love this place! It has a great vibe and the food is (usually) exceptional. That being said, sometimes I feel that the level of service and attention to detail is not always up to par with some of the surrounding restaurants in Northside. I often order takeout, and there are usually things missing, so make sure you check the bag before you head out. I love the build your own salad option. I would love it even more if the lettuce was chopped and the ingredients that I picked and paid for were always included. Maybe my combinations seem strange, but personally, I would prefer to receive my personalized order made correctly. My friend once described his experience as apathetic, and while I will continue to support this business - I do agree that there is room for improvement. read more

What a fun place with great rock puns!! I was afraid it might be too loud to visit with its rock theme but the music was played at a good level--loud enough to enjoy but still easily talk to your friends without shouting. Burgers and shakes were great, I got a Pearl Jam with some Britney Spears to share at the table. Also a Flan Halen (and this was my only quibble--why is a strawberry shake called Flan Halen? This is such a cool place! You can't go wrong with a metal and rock themed restaurant with appropriately named menu items. The puns are great. It's so creative and they've got great rock memorabilia and art on the tables. This is one of my brother's favorite places and I can see why! I stopped in on a Sunday afternoon between going to the American Sign Museum and the Newport Aquarium. I got the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Sweet Cherry Pie milkshake. Both were amazing! The milkshake is a special for March 2024 but I hope they make it a permanent menu item. I stopped in when I was in the area after a meeting. I ordered a burger with fries and found a table to wait for my food as I planned to eat there. The wall next to the table had dried food and what looked like boogers on it. In fact, the entire place was filthy. The floor was disgusting, tables weren't clean, the common area to get utensils, etc was a mess. It's almost as they embrace the disgusting state of the restaurant as part of the ambiance. Very fun and Clever burger joint. We are on a weekend get a way traveling from Louisville to Detroit and was crossing through the cincy area during supper time. If I'm being honest The funny name is what really reeled me in. Outside of having a fun name, they also have really cool artistic wall art, tables and hilariously fun menu item names. It took me a few minutes to even look at what I wanted to eat because I was having fun reading the menu. There is no private parking lot and it's a busy commercial downtown type setup so you have to street park. We arrived at just before 7pm on a Friday night and the meters were free. So that was nice. Upon walking to front door we first hit an entrance for the patio where you enter through a sketchy looking alley. We opted for door #2 aka the main establishment entrance. It was seat yourself and they didn't have a very big inside so that's probably why they use a patio as well. You sit at the table and scan a barcode that brings up the menu and you choose what you want from that link and pay and it sends order to front desk with your table number. The food did take quite A bit of time to come out. Which was surprising because there wasn't many people there. I personally ordered the "Meatallica" burger which was a burger with an egg with cheese and Mayo. It was very tasty. The egg and Mayo was a great touch. The burger was dry in some spots but overall very tasty. My wife got the Big Mac Miller burger and she liked it a whole lot. She hated her side of Cole slaw though. My oldest daughter got a "Rob Zomwich" sandwich which had all kinds of sloppy toppings on it. She liked it and said it was very good. My other two daughters got kids meals. One got a "snoop hot dog" and the other a "Melton John jr grilled cheese". Finally The one year old daughter got the "fleet wood Mac and cheese". Yeah I told you these names were great. Really appealing to my bad pun/dad joke humor. The service here seemed lacking. No interaction. They dropped our food off in paper sacks you would use for a school lunch. They stacked my burger upside down so the inners fell out in the bag and I was left holding just a bun. They evidently closed at 8pm and at 745 we was told to pretty much wrap it up because they was closing soon. Which if they got our food out quicker we probably would have been out well before 745. Overall cool place, fun vibe and good food. Bad service on this visit kept them from getting the 5 star here. This was the perfect balance of heat and flavor - not to mention, the patty was perfectly cooked, and the bun just lightly toasted. All of their burgers are served with seasoned fries - which were delightfully crispy, and easy to munch on. If you're looking for some sort of a high-class presentation, then just keep on looking because you're not going to appreciate the simple beauty of Tickle Pickle.
