Now that was enjoyable. First visit had to include a boozy shake and a double smashburger with American. Went for their Expresso-Self shake with ESPRESSO LIQUEUR, SPICED RUM, AMARO, WHIPPED CREAM, BITTERS, COCOA POWDER. Very creamy and delicious. I like the meat to shine and passed on the toppings, except some pickles on the side. I was very impressed with the flavor and the texture was perfect. Bun wasn't overpowering and capped it off perfectly. Service was pretty good but they didn't make my shake until I was finished and asked for it a second time. Was worth the wait. I wasn't sure what I wanted for lunch but I needed lunch, so when I saw a smashburger on Google Maps, I was sold! I told a friend of mine that I think this is the best burger I've ever had in my life! I didn't even get to the fries until I inhaled the burger, and they were still warm and perfectly cooked! The place is moderately busy for 2:00 on a Friday afternoon. The staff was very nice, from the cashier to the busser who offered to clean off my table for me. Drinks are bottled by the register and I opted for a Dasani instead of a milkshake that they make by hand. Trying to be healthy. I was visiting Cincinnati for a conference and Milkman popped up online as a good, affordable local spot. The restaurant has a good old diner feel and it's kept super clean. The staff are friendly and make everything to order. I was expecting to like the food but it turned out to be some of the best fast food I've ever had. The veggie burger isn't some outsourced patty. It has a full, rich flavor and the dark red color seems to come from beets but you don't get a strong beet flavor at all. The texture is smooth but close to a burger patty. They smash it just like their burgers. My partner also liked the Milkman burger and thought the smash patty was really good. The fries are crispy and flavorful and the shake was amazing. I was surprised how much butterfinger they put into the shake. I highly recommend stopping by Milkman if you're in Cincinnati. read more

I'll stay off with how delicious the Dairy Free butterfinger shake was!? And yes, if you knew me these are words you'd never expect me to say but the lovely Mrs asked for it so we make her happy. The chicken sandwich was interesting? Probably more than half was breading so totally couldn't taste the chicken? The gravy fries(don't see the in the linemen) but the wording made them sound way better than they were. Rather bland. The Smashburger was pretty good. Don't know where they get the buns from here but they are the highlight to both sandwiches. The store is well laid out, the folks working here are super friendly and it's a very short walk from Washington Park/Cincinnati Pops orchestra. Reason for 4 stars is the price. This review is apart of my Door dash series - I feel like people should know if the delivered quality matches the in house quality. I was craving some Revolution Rotisserie but it closed down last year - the owner also owns this place so the nugs are basically their boneless wings so I ordered some nugs with bbq sauce and ranch.. then I smothered them in the sauce to get the nostalgic flavor I was craving! Pleasantly surprised by this vintage diner gem in OTR! My friends and I checked it out on a Friday night and it was crowded but we still got a table right away. I LOVE that they offer tofu swaps on any of their chicken or burger entrees though I wish it wasn't an upcharge (tofu is way less expensive than meat!) and they mentioned a veggie burger alternative too. The tofu was crispy and went perfectly with the unique PBJ burger toppings. The fries were served nice and hot with sauce or ketchup. I decided to eat here on a whim as I was in town traveling for work. I googled burger places near me and Milkman came up as highly rated. The parking can be hit or miss but I was able to find curbside parking. The restaraunt itself was well maintained and the staff was very professional. The place seems like a nice hangout spot for families and friends. They have spiked drinks as well for the older crowd. I've never eaten here before so I stuck with what I like. I got onion rings, the cowboy burger, and a chocolate milkshake. All three were great my favorite being the milkshake and onion rings. The spicy ranch sauce with the onion rings was amazing. Overall this is one of the best burger spots I have eaten at and will definitely visit again whenever I am back in towns read more

Classic burger spot with a very interesting menu. We split a cowboy burger and the PBR. Both were insanely good and worth the walk over. The walk back was necessary after filling up on those double patties. Fries and onion rings are cooked to perfection. Milkman is a cute, casual spot near the park. It's the kind of place where you walk up and order and then take a number to your table and they'll bring you out your food. this was my first time in and the burger was very delicious. The staff was very patient because I had 1 million questions about my food so I was very appreciative of that. I got a single patty burger because I also want fries and it was very filling. I also got a boozy shake, the Kokomo spritz! I was really excited because they had a dairy free option and they even let me taste the dairy free, soft serve before I ordered my shake. The customer service was 10 out of 10. I enjoyed my shake, but I probably would've picked something that complemented the oat milk ice cream. What can I say other than this place is absolutely amazing if you like a 50s style diner smash burgers!! It came highly recommended from a good friend who just happened to be in Cincy during opening week a few years ago and they go back every time they are in town, which is frequent so we had to give it a try when we were heading back to Louisville from IKEA. When you walk in, I was greeted immediately at the counter where they have a menu overhead where you order (there is a Cooler of different drinks, including beers and such to the right of the counter). I got a Milkman and made it a double which is a double smash burger with American Cheese and special sauce (no pickle) along with a side of side fries that comes with fry sauce and a Mocha Martini boozy shake. The burger was delicious and cooked to perfection. The fries were fresh and crispy and the boozy shake was outta this world. Talk about a cheat meal lol The staff was kind, polite and more than patient with all the questions we had. 10/10 recommend! read more

So I've been to Milkman twice now and I just love the vibes of this place. Inside is very cute just like a diner vibe and it's located right around the corner in Washington park so a great spot to grab a bite when in the area. The first time I came I got a spicy burger which was yummy and had good flavor. This time when I went I got the chili cheese fries which were good but a bit salty at the same time. The service was really great. We went during the last hour of it being open and the workers were very kind and even allowed us to just sit and talk for a bit while they were cleaning. My friend and I decided to stop by Milkman because she wanted to try the chicken nuggets. When we walked in, it was packed and it was takeout only or wait for a table. We knew that meant we were about to enjoy a good meal. We sure did! They use real chicken chunks, not processed chicken for their nuggets. The cheeseburger and fries were really good. Even though their burgers are smash burgers, they were very flavorful. The hamburger had the perfect amount of seasoning. I always get my burgers plain or with cheese only. I want to enjoy the flavors of the meat, I feel like with all the extra toppings you miss out on being able to enjoy the burger. The fries were seasoned well and were nice and crunchy, yet soft. The restaurant itself is super cute. I really love all the Elvis stuff they have there. My grandma loved Elvis, so it reminded me of her and made me smile even more. This was our first time at Milkman, so we were a little overwhelmed by the choices but the friendly staff answered our questions and gave us some recommendations. We placed our order at the counter then had a seat and our made to order lunch was brought out to our table about 10 minutes later. My husband had the chili cheese fries and liked them a lot. I got a "make your own damn burger" with swiss cheese, grilled onions, and bbq sauce with a chocolate shake to drink. Each topping is an extra charge, so I would have preferred more...if I'm paying $1 for bbq sauce, it should be more than a smidge. That being said, the burger was very good on it's own, so I did not go up to ask for more. The restaurant has a old fashioned diner vibe with old black and white photos of celebrities from that era displayed on the walls. My wife grabbed the Milkman burger and a side of onion rings. Food is cooked to order and brought out to your table. They do have indoor and outdoor seating. Even on. Saturday, they have a busy lunchtime. Burgers are smashburger style. Delicious, cooked well. No complaints. For me though, the star was the chili cheese fries. Holy hell those were delicious! If half stars were a thing, I think 3.5 would be perfect for Milkman. To start, you walk in and order at the counter. They have a cooler with a pretty good beverage selection. There are a handful of diner-style table for sitting and you seat yourself after ordering. The menu has 4 or 5 burger options and then a slew of a la carte toppings (each with a fee). We got a Spicy Burger and a Cowboy burger as well as a chocolate shake and a side of fries. The burgers were pretty tasty. Truthfully, they kind of tasted like Five Guys burgers, which is where my lower rating comes from. Also, the fact that each topping is an additional price can make it a relatively pricey meal. The shake was the best part of our meal, that was delicious. The fries were also quite tasty. They were crispy and well seasoned. Milkman promises three things: Juicy Burgers, Boozy Shakes, and Fast Service. It delivers on everything it promises. Their food straddles the line between casual and gourmet burgers. It does not fall for the millennial burger joint stereotype. The burgers are seared and smashed and well topped. My only point of critique is that they could go a little further on seasoning. Their burgers are juicy and if any seasoning is used, it is lost in the mix. Of course, the boozy milkshakes are quite the draw. Its hard to make anything with alcohol in it taste as good as it's non-alcoholic counterpart. Milkman strives for it, but does fall short. The Bourbon mixes well, but vodka is still very noticeable in their recipes. Just a tweak of the recipe, and it could be perfect. Service is fast, especially for a sit-down. From order to table was less than five minutes. It is in OTR and it's right next to Washington Park. You're going to pay the OTR premium, I'm afraid. In summation, Milkman isn't perfect, but it does what it wants well, and it delivers on everything it promises to do. I ate at mid-day, but I can imagine this would be amazing food after a night on the town. read more

I stopped in here for Cincy burger week and ordered the Fiesta Burger along with onion rings and a boozy milkshake. The boozy shake was the Cookies & Bourbon Cream and it was so good! I think this place must just always have good business. We came in at 2 on a Saturday and there were lots of people. The vibe gives retro diner. The cashier was super nice and even went over the menu with us because he asked if it was our first time. I love ordering a kids meal because it's perfectly filling. Always on the quest for a good hamburger I decided to try this place out as I have heard good things. The hype is real! The aesthetics of this place are quite welcoming and also nostalgic to a 50's style diner. It also is very clean and organized properly. All of the people that were working in this establishment were very happy to help out, constantly asking if we needed anything else and bustling about the dining room, keeping it in tiptop shape. Even though we arrived at peak lunch hour we were quickly served our delicious burgers. And now onto the good part; the hamburgers! They are absolutely fantastic in both texture and seasoning. This is the ultimate "smashburger". Even without any accoutrements, you could tell that the burgers themselves were extremely flavorful in all of the right ways.
