Soooo fire. Stopped here on our way into Cinci from Louisville. Decided to come to this hole-in-the-wall after doing some research on tasty local places, and they did not disappoint! We were the only ones here on a Friday night before a snow storm, and the wings were coated with such a good hot and tangy sauce. They were crispy, fries were cooked perfectly and salted to perfection. We will be stopping by again next time we come by. Cool cooks, fast service. I do wish they had a restroom though. read more

I was a little nervous about eating here when I walked in because the place looks pretty run down. It could definitely use a makeover. But don't judge a book by its cover because the cheeseburger I had was fantastic! The man that took my order couldn't have been nicer. He thanked me for stopping in, which was really nice. Stopped by Red Bird Deli on the way home to grab some chicken wings to go. I'd heard good things about them and they were delicious. I opted for the spicy BBQ sauce which was just right -- a bit of heat to let you know it's there but not too overwhelming. Red Bird Deli has a a few tables if you choose to eat inside. Five star for food! We ordered the steak sandwich, the salami-pesto sandwich, the quoted best grilled cheese of your life and an order of the Smokey fried ribs. Yep, deep fried ribs that were from the naked eye over fried but mercy, the charred exterior and the delightful moist rib that was below was actually a marvel of texture and flavor. They were incredible. As were the sandwiches. I've enjoyed thick sliced bologna sandwiches in the past but never seen a salami version. This sandwich with the pesto is so simple, yet so tasty it boggles your mind. The grilled cheese sandwich was tasty but apparently over hyped as the best grilled cheese I've had in my life was made here at home! :) now the highly touted steak sandwich was indeed, worth the hype. It could be in the top five sandwiches I've ever had. The bread, the chopped steak with grilled veggies, cheese and 'special sauce' is a sandwich that will bring me back. I'm not even going to try to replicate here at home because being able to replicate this will never happen. The store is a quaint hole in the wall shop on West Pike Street just off 71/75, East access. Parking was plentiful at 545p on a Wednesday. The folks working here are genuinely nice folks. Very appreciative of us dropping by and having dinner here. We will be back. Specifically for the Steak Sandwich and fingers crossed that they have wings... support local!!! read more

We are glad that we went! The steak sandwiches out of this world huge tasty could need it all! The asparagus and brussel sprouts are seasoned perfectly! Highly recommend to go there! The owner and all the workers are so nice they'll prepare anything you want the way you want it! Please support your local small restaurants and delis and skip that bad fast food. I went to the Redbird Deli to meet my friends at the deli in Covington. On Saturday, March 7. I had bought sweet deals coupons When I was ordering, I was told had to use the whole amount and they pointed to the bottom of the coupon indicating that that's where it said that. I have two of those so I looked at the one that I still had after I left there. It does not say that anywhere. My presumption was you could spend what my order would've been approximately $12. It would be written on there the receipt attached and then you could use the balance later. Not happy about the deceit that's what I feel like it was. I got the chicken salad. I was not impressed. I did see another couple that was in there, ordering what looked like ann Italian type sandwich that looked delicious. Should I ever go back and use the other $25 that I have? I would try that, but I don't know that I'll go back because of what I felt like was deceit. read more

My wife had the chicken and fries, I had cheese burger. We also had a side of Brussel sprouts. Chicken tasted good, burger was also good Brussel sprouts also tasted good. Nice place and it fills a need in Covington. I wasn't very fond of what I ordered but I will try it again. The steak and cheese special, (not really special because it was on the menu for the same price) was so so. I couldn't eat as a sandwich because it was so drenched with sauces or aujous or something. The bun was soaked. The fries we had were also drenched in sauces. Not my style but I may have ordered wrong. I will try it again. If you like garlic this is the spot. First time trying red bird and it was good! The chicken sandwich was packed with good stuff like onions and peppers and the sauce was delicious, a little tang to it. This place is literally so good, I crave it every week. The red bird legs are incredible, unlike anything I've ever had. And the sandwiches are very well made and unique tasting. Ambiance isn't the greatest but if you're looking for good homemade food at a fair price this place doesn't get much better. read more

the drumsticks are insane and if you don't get one you're stupid. the food was delicious and the vibe was awesome. there are instruments inside with encouragement to play them. Very cool laid back enviroment. Loved the instruments that you were allowed to play most places stick them on wall and let you just look at them here your allowed to pick up and play. As far as food was the best set of ribs i have had in ages. The sauce was amazing and was told they been smoked and flavored which shows in the taste and very visible. Most places dont take the time to do the sauce right and slings it all over plate not this one. You can taste the smokey flavor and sauce is to only want to go back and have more. Staff is very well knowledged and very courtous and know how to take care of every hunger cure you need.
