Visited The Pickled Pig for the first time with a friend for lunch and I highly recommend it. The staff member who took our order could not have been more helpful in describing the different options and the sides. My smoked chicken sandwich on a croissant was absolutely delicious, and my friend enjoyed her custom grilled cheese. It was a lovely day, so we sat outside on the patio. This is a little restaurant ran by a husband and wife. We have followed them for a long time, before their brick and mortar building, or Diners, drive in , and dives. I was craving a sandwich today and drive by this shop all the time. I stopped in and ordered the smoked chicken salad croissant sandwich. It was good, but nothing crazy special and a bit pricy for the size in my opinion. My friend ordered the same but with half chicken salad, half egg salad--which I wish I did to try both! However, the worker who helped us (he started two weeks ago!) was exceedingly nice and helpful with recommendations. I think they're actually more known for their pickles (cool to see they also offer fermentation classes) so I'd be interested in trying their Pickle Boat and some cold salads next time. (Also wish my sandwich came with a pickle!) There is both interior and exterior patio seating and lots of pig-themed decor throughout the store. This wouldn't be a regular spot for me because of the price-to-portion size ratio, but I would be excited to come again to try more of their menu. read more

First off, service was GREAT! When the server AND chef check in with you on the food, that's service that stays with you. The interior was clean and nicely decorated. The server was very knowledgeable and walked us through the menu. We chose this restaurant because we love Guy Fieris DDD and it did not disappoint. Most places default to coleslaw, but these guys went with kraut, because fermented foods are clearly their thing, and I'm so glad they did. That kraut was next-level. Tangy, flavorful, and piled on just right. I might have loved it even more than the turkey, which is wild to say because the smoked turkey itself was juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. The pickle boat was also fantastic. Crisp, bright, and full of that homemade, small-batch goodness. You can tell they care about what they're putting on the plate. As much as I loved the food, the service really stood out. The gentleman at the register was kind, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming. He even used my name when he checked back to see how my food was, which is such a simple touch but made a big impression. The only suggestion I'd offer is to update the website pricing to match what's currently being charged in the store. There's a cold case to the left of the cash register with fresh sides. Also love the open kitchen concept where you can see them prepare your food literally 5 feet away. The staff were really friendly. We opted for the pork burger and grilled veggie baba. The flavor and umami on the pork burger are on point, perfectly moist in the center. Coming from a fellow Korean, the kimchi absolutely slaps on this burger. The veggie baba was amazing as well, fresh veggies perfect for the summer and delicious spread lathered on rustic bread. What a great spot! We happened upon the Pickled Pig on a recent trip to Cincinnati and definitely scored! The smoked salmon tacos were as the kids used to say, "fire"! So tasty , great interpretation of a standard soft taco. We also had the chili, great level of heat mixed with a savory broth. The pork sandwiches we tried were also top notch. The fact that things were made in house was a bonus! The drink selections were far above the standard fare. The owner was super informative about the menu and made us feel right at home. The Pickled Pig in Walnut Hills is one of my favorite recent finds. The small deli specializes in smoked meats and fermented/pickled sides. Orders are placed at the counter and the menu focuses on sandwiches and deli-style salads. For lunch, I decided to try the smoked turkey sandwich ($12) topped with sauerkraut, tomme (a French/Swiss cheese), and Russian dressing on sourdough rye, a sort of turkey Reuben. I really enjoyed this sandwich with its piled high delightfully smoky turkey. The bread was also outstanding! On the side, I had their Korean carrots (a $3 add-on to the sandwich), a sweet and sour pickled delight. They also have potato salad, beet & apple salad, chicken salad, egg salad, hummus, and more. If the Pickled Pig were closer to my house it would definitely be in my weekly rotation for lunch. But even so, I will have to remember to stop in again for more delicious food. read more
