When i go to a dining joint, i tend to post about the food first. But eating bbq in a converted church building is just...heavenly! Original stained glass still in place and some photos of the building when still used as a house of worship. And yet, dining out has to be about good food. And Pig Candy delivers! I had the pulled pork and turkey. Both were perfectly moist and succulent (the pork had just enough bark in each bite). I ordered the red and gold sauces, but when my food came to me, the young man said he also brought a sample of the white sauce since it's his favorite for the turkey. He is most def an honest young man! It was a great combo, with the red and gold both sturdy and suitable for the pork. Many folks have many opinions about mac and cheese, but this was how I like it. The green beans had some sausage added for a great flavor, though slightly under salted for my tastes--and easily remedied with a quick shake. I'm not one in need of GF options, though I noticed them on the menu as well as well-marked V options. The pumpkin bar was a great finish to the meal. read more

Pig Candy is always a great spot to go to if your craving BBQ. The food is pretty good and love the location here. This location had a pretty chill vibe. Felt like I was at a backyard get together with the family. Service was pretty quick. The only thing I didn't like was how you have to pay upfront and of course they ask you to tip. Why would you tip if you don't know what the food and service is like (for those who are new to this place). Both locations are the same. We arrived at Pig Candy BBQ around Noon. We lucked out because we walked right up to the counter and ordered. The place filled up as soon as we sat down to wait for our food. People were lined up into the seating area. There is plenty of seating so I think anyone can find a seat at lunch time, but it is very popular and busy. And for good reason. The person at the counter couldn't have been more patient and kind. They were very helpful and I'm glad we weren't rushed by a crush of people behind us so we had time to acclimate since it was our first visit. When it did get busy, a second person helped take orders. She also checked in with customers to make sure everything was as great as expected. I liked the food delivery process. Someone comes out from the kitchen area with food and calls the name, then brings the food to the table. It seems like a personal connection to where the food is prepared. I like it. We both ordered the Brisket Grilled Cheese Brisket Grilled Cheese (American & Jack Cheeses on Texas Toast with Red BBQ sauce on the side). Red BBQ sauce is Traditional BBQ (Sweet, Sour, Smoke). All the different sauces are described on the menu. I ordered Mac N Cheese and Mark ordered Cowboy Beans as sides. The sandwich was very good and the sauce was perfect for dipping. It was a sweet, tangy sauce that went well with the brisket, cheese and thick, Texas style bread. The bread was "butter toasted" and was crunchy and stood up to the sandwich fillings. There were a few fatty bites, but overall the meat was tender and tasty. There is a lot to choose from on the menu, but I would order this again. The Mac N Cheese was bland, but Mark said the Cowboy Beans were delicious. I do wish we lived closer. We would definitely return. First time trying Pig Candy BBQ and we were not disappointed! Every aspect of the experience was impeccable, from the amazing space in an old church to the friendly service and certainly the food! We shared the 3 Meat Platter with brisket, pulled pork and sausage and 3 different sauces, all of which were delicious. The brisket was exceptionally good! You order at a counter staffed by very friendly and helpful employees who offered recommendations, then find a table. Food runners call out the names as food is ready and bring it to the appropriate table. Service was quick and food was hot. Mac and cheese and cole slaw were both great also. At less than $30, we found this to be a good value for the quality and quantity of food we received. What a great addition to the Loveland community. We will definitely be back many times in the future! One note: they only have ribs on Monday currently. Not sure if it will stay this way, but plan your visit if you want ribs. Called in an order for pick up on our way home. It was ready on time a promised. My husband had a brisket sandwich and a side of coleslaw. He said the Cole slaw was a little spicier than expected. I enjoyed the turkey sandwich and a side of cornbread. The turkey was sliced thickly and there was plenty of it. The cornbread was a very generous helping and I loved it. This BBQ spot is a great addition to Loveland. Their original location is tougher to get to so this is a great option for those in the northern Cincinnati suburbs. The ambiance is really cool and I love how the renovated an old church, keeping aot of the architectural elements while adding their own touch. The food is incredible, with smoked BBQ meats on sites, classic homey sides, and even Sunday brunch. Follow their socials too for daily specials like ribs and brisket grilled cheese. Love me some excellent bbq and this fit the bill. First off it's in a cool old church and the ambiance is fantastic. The food - chefs kiss. The white sauce is insanely good. The turkey and brisket are both phenomenal. The Mac and cheese was creamy and smooth. The beans were excellent. All around perfect place that hit the spot. Service was friendly too. I'm always skeptical when trying a BBQ restaurant; it's so easy to get it wrong. Well I was blown away. We tried both the Bama Turkey, and the Brisket Grilled Cheese, both were phenomenal. The standout was the white bbq sauce that came with the Bama Turkey Sandwich; we couldn't leave without taking a bottle home. The owners did a fantastic job on the remodel and decor. Everything has a rustic modern feel, but they kept the ambiance of the former church as well. We came with a gift card, but will definitely be back. We arrived early on a Monday and the parking lot was already filling up. The Loveland spot is already becoming very popular thankfully there was ample seating inside the renovated church. You order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. The weight staff was very friendly and checked in on us several times throughout the meal. We got both the ribs special, which were really terrific and likewise the pulled pork sandwich The hot sauce was really a salsa very fresh with slight texture, which is exactly how it should be. The new place is awesome! I love when old buildings get reused, this one being in an old church. This place is bigger than the original BBQ spot on Kellogg, and it has retained the style of the place. Vaulted ceilings and stained glass still live here, even with the new tenant. They have a heated/screened-in porch, and of course indoor seating. All the food is just as good as the original location (of course), and always good tunes playing. I'm so glad to see how this new place looks, feels, and tastes! Quality cue in a re-purposed church? What's not to love? They've really poured their blood, sweat, and tears into this place, and it appears that they are off to a great start. I'll definitely stop by again when in the area, but their original location is so close to me that I'll keep my "regular" status at the original. Way to go Pig Candy! Outstanding first visit. So many good choices! I went with the platter with two meats. I chose pulled pork and brisket. As the side I selected cheddar grits. For the two sauces I chose spicy bbq and golden (mustard based). Everything was glorious. I'd order all of it again but my favorite combo was the pulled pork with the golden sauce. Six of us went at noon Friday. It was busy. There wasn't a suitable table for us so we tried the patio. There is a windscreen but no glass windows. Four radiant heaters help for the two tables they aim at, not our table . We coated up and stayed put. The brisket and pork was good. My pickled peppers and onions were good and plentiful, no complaints. Sauces were good, white sauce a hit. The vegan goetta sandwich was rated fine, deep fried and a bit small for the cost. First time at Pig Candy! We were so impressed with the renovated church space; so well thought out. The surroundings are beautiful and clean as well as comfortable for the guests. Bathrooms impeccable; great accessibility for people with mobility issues. The food was a 10/10! We loved the pork and the brisket. It was the best barbeque we've every had at a restaurant. Heads above anyone else doing barbecue in the area in our opinion. The cheese grits were crazy delicious! Finished off the brisket and pulled pork with key lime pudding which was a great closer!! Many gluten free options as well which we were happy to see. The best part was the friendliness of the staff. The people at the registers made helpful suggestions and explained options well.
