Chicken salad BLT add smoked gouda
Heather L.

This sandwich here would be my choice for final lunch meal of my life if I had to pick. I have only ever ordered one thing here, the Chicken Salad BLT special with smoked gouda cheese added. Everything about this sandwich is perfectly done; the taste, the size, the price, and it is made to order. The staff here is friendly and efficient, even at busy lunch hours. So many other things look good on their menu and in the deli case... they offer many pre-made meals, sides, and deli specials. Their meats always look amazingly fresh. There isnt much space inside, but there are nice tables out front if you prefer to eat there. You really must try this unassuming family owned deli tucked away in a tiny plaza just off I-275 in Montgomery.

Chicken salad BLT with smoked gouda

Chicken salad BLT sandwich is their special for a reason. Had it with smoked gouda (per Heather L.'s suggestion) and it was packed with flavor and holds the essence of a perfect sandwich in one bite. Also had their cheeseburger and my roommate's leftover cubano sandwich- all delicious. I don't think you can go wrong with anything on their menu.

Turkey bacon panini

If anyone deserves 5 stars - it's Holzman Meats. It's tucked away in a strip mall center in Montgomery hidden behind a gas station and Mcabe's Lumber. It's humble and not trying to be anything it's not. What is it though? A good old fashioned butcher shop and DELI! If there is anything that Cincinnati needs - its more traditional deli's. It's funny people often think I am fancy and the truth is, I'm not. I don't need some fancy pants sammie. What I need is: quality in it's simplest form. And it is something that when I see it, I appreciate it, and I scream from the rooftops about it. Holzman Meats is just that. Farm raised beef, chicken, eggs, and a surprisingly large amount of fresh seafood. This is the stuff that gets me excited. When you shop local you build a relationship with your butcher and he/she can alert you when something amazing comes in they think you will like. THIS IS THAT PLACE. This is also a place where you can pick up everything you need for a picnic or a supper at home when you just don't have the time. They have pre-made potpies ready for the oven, quiches, potato salads, and pasta salads. We didn't order them so I can't speak to the quality of these - but the convenience for busy families is a definite win. As for the deli, it offer's Boar's Head and a surplus of fun condiments. You can choose from the menu or build your own. The gentleman behind the counter let us know they are known for their panini's. We got turkey bacon in both the panini and the cold deli sammie. Both were simple, but perfectly delicious and no joke our total was $10 for two sammies and a drink - WHAT?! We stopped at another local spot before this and nothing jumped out at us, and not to be weird but a similar sandwich was $12 on it's own. Not only is this place a bargain - you cannot put a price on the service. The young man taking care of us was excited to tell us about the place (without even being prompted) and you could tell he was proud to work there. It made me feel good about spending our money there and even though it's far from where I live, I would make a special trip back here just to experience this level of service again. Keep doing what you're doing Holzman family!

There were lots of tickets, but my breakfast sandwich came within 7 minutes or so. We took it outside to eat at one of the tables and the goetta is kind of a fried grain/meat patty with a perfect egg on top and cheese and the bun was perfect for it. Nice and hot and not too expensive, I would totally recommend this place for someone to try goetta for the first time and all the clientele had smiles on their faces. There is also a cool Reds mascot statue on a bench that makes for a good picture. Good stuff, try it for sure!

Luckily, we didn't have to wait since they were all ready for us when we arrived. We had their goetta, egg, and cheese sandwich, which was really good. There weren't any tables so we stood to the side to eat our sandwiches, but right outside there were plenty of tables in the market so that would be a good place to sit down and enjoy your food. Next time we go to Findlay Market, we'll be sure to stop by and try some other tasty treats!

If you love BBQ, prepare your taste buds for the kind of joyride they've been praying for --…read morebecause Sweets & Meats BBQ delivers some of the best barbecue in Cincinnati, possibly anywhere. From the moment the aroma hit the table to the last bite, this meal was nothing short of legendary. Let's start with the pulled pork -- outstanding doesn't even begin to describe it. Perfectly smoky, incredibly tender, and packed with flavor, it was the kind of meat that makes you pause mid-bite just to appreciate what's happening. Juicy, rich, and done exactly right. And the sides didn't just show up as an afterthought -- they completed the meal. The greens were deeply flavorful and cooked to perfection, and the mac and cheese was pure comfort food excellence: creamy, cheesy, and impossible to stop eating. Now... the wings. These are the kind of wings you'd happily drive across town for -- crispy, meaty, and bold in flavor. Absolutely worth the trip all on their own. And then there's the brisket. I'll just say this: ridiculous. Smoky, juicy, beautifully seasoned, and so tender it barely needed a knife. One bite was enough to reset my expectations for what great brisket should be. Everything here tastes like it was made with care, patience, and real BBQ passion. If you're even remotely serious about barbecue, this place needs to be on your list. I'll be back -- and bringing friends next time.

I've been craving BBQ for a few weeks, so my husband read my mind, and we went back to Sweets &…read moreMeats to grab dinner. The smells of smoked meats when we walked in had us both excited. I went with Manks Sampler again but added beef brisket this time. For my sides, I was debating trying something different, but went with my favorites the sweet potato casserole, and collard greens. I also added a piece of cornbread to the order. My husband ordered the pulled chicken sandwich, and a half rack of ribs. We also ordered a full rack of ribs for our son, and an order of beef brisket to go. The staff were all friendly and took care of our order wonderfully. The meats this time were all nicely smoked, and tasty. The serving portion of the brisket was nice, and while it's not a huge issue, trimming the large amounts of fat would make for a nicer presentation. The sweet potato casserole, and greens were just like the first time I tried them, delicious. The cornbread was moist and had corn in it, it wasn't sweet but could've passed for dessert, yum. The ribs were meaty, and worth the price. Thank you to Pam at the register for being super friendly. Definitely worth the drive from Pennsylvania to get BBQ at Sweets & Meats when you're spending time in Cincinnati.

Wow! What a way to spend our 1 year wedding anniversary! I loved this place…read more It has been a few months since eating here but I still find myself thinking about it. Our next trip to Cincinnati; It will be extremely difficult to stay away from here. We spent the day in Newport and around Cincinnati and wanted somewhere nice for the occasion. I was iffy on this place at first... you can throw a rock all over America and hit a place with 'Barrel' in the name these days. The Yelp reviews swing both ways here but I'm here to tell you my take... because it swings so far towards the 5 stars that it's very much a 6 or 7 star place(maybe more). We gauged our arrival time based on other activities that day. We wanted ample time at the nearby Lego exhibit so when we arrived there, we made a reservation for 4:30-5. Eating early and making our way back to Louisville was a great idea. The entire time we were there, no one else came in so we had the entire place to ourselves(It was a Friday). The atmosphere is homey but during busy times, I could see it being noisy. The booths could easily fit 6 people comfortably... probably 8 in some cases depending on how wide some of you are. Special Note: This place highlights The Parrillada Experience for Two on their menu and we wanted it! We didn't order it because at a price tag of 130-and pictures online, we didn't want it to be a failed outing. After our first trip, The Parrillada Exp will be on the agenda next time. It's a mixture of different steaks, sausages, shrimp, sides, and salads. Definitely worth the cost. On to the food: Sausage App - Argentine Chorizo. Farmhouse Sausage. Grilled Ciabatta. Hearts of Palm. Green/Red chimichurri. Pepper Relish. I don't like ordering this type of dish when I go places because you never know if it's going to be delicious or very bad. It ended up being super delicious. We couldn't make up our mind which sauce we liked the best and which meat we liked the best. App PERFECTION! Land and Sea - This is what my wife went with. Asada Skirt Steak. Jumbo Shrimp. Asparagus. Red chimichurri butter. I had bites of the shrimp and it was good. I had to save room for my dish. Wagyu Denver Cut - I went back and forth. Lobster ravioli being on the menu almost made my decision instant but I was going back and forth between ravioli, steak, and a few other things. I asked the server which he recommended of the 4 Chef's cuts. He recommended two... one of which was the Wagyu so I went with it. I wasn't disappointed AT ALL. He mentioned that the Wagyu Denver Cut was a new addition to the menu... I'm not sure but you could definitely tell it was cooked, arranged, and presented with care. I savored every angle of every bite. We also ordered a side of brussels because of course! Originally we were going to dessert somewhere else but went ahead and ordered the Hazelnut Vanilla Creme Brulee here. Perfect ending to the meal. This brulee was light and had the right amount of crunch. It was also larger than expected. We had no complaints with this place. Easily one of the better restaurants I've had in Cincinnati. If you're doubting visiting this place, take the dive! Other notes: They have beer and a small cocktail variety but they primarily seem focused on wine(plenty of options to choose from).
