I've been planning to stop here for a while and I'm glad I did! My turkey sandwich was excellent and my chicken noodle soup was very tasty. It didn't have carrots which seemed weird, but it was still very yummy! In addition to the fold, though, the service was excellent (I was even offered a sample of chicken salad, which they are known for!). I had originally been in the area to grab Jimmy Johns, but that location had closed. I decided to go into the Sandwich Block Deli and am so glad that I did! I shared that this was my first time stopping in and the lady behind the counter was so nice. She walked through the menu and let me sample 2 types of chicken salad - both were great. My husband and I got a Reuban, Club, bean soup, 2 deviled eggs and all were delicious. We will absolutely be back. read more

Stopped for lunch. Even though there are at least two other chain sandwich locations almost next door, they were consistently busy while I ate my lunch. Many to-go orders from casually dressed people so I don't believe the are business offices near by. They said their Ruben and Chicken Salad sandwich were the top sellers. I had the #2 which came with a full sandwich, 6oz bowl of a soup, bag of branded chips, and a fountain drink. I had a cold pastrami on rye with brown mustard and Swiss. It was just OK. This came with a bag of lays and a few pickle slices. My cherry coke tasted calibrated correctly. The standout was my bean soup! Fantastic! The #2 with tax was just over $14. My only recommendation is switch to pickle spears if your a deli 3 star deli but an extra star for the soup! read more

Just about everything you could want from a soup and sandwich (and more) shop!! You order at the counter and then seat yourself and our service was fast, friendly and helpful. They take your trays/garbage up for you when you are done. I had a half turkey sandwich with bean soup, chips and a drink. I got my bread toasted so my sandwich was nice and warm and my soup was hearty. Great spot to grab lunch! Everyone in our group of 6 liked their food and was happy we came! read more

I was drop a package off at The UPS Store and the employee their recommended Block Deli! I love supporting family owned businesses and this one is awesome!! I ordered the Jalapeño Chicken Salad, house made potato salad and a snickerdoodle! The chicken salad had a nice kick and the potato salad tasted like my mom and was a large portion! I love this place! My partner and I love their chicken salad sandwiches, but they have tons of other sandwiches and wraps to offer as well. They have 5 different types of chicken salad. We've had the original, the sweet Jamaican, and the Cajun one. All of them are so good and anytime we think of wanting chicken salad we will always come here. I absolutely love their pasta salad and chicken salad. They've switched locations 3 times since being in the crescent springs area so make sure you go to the right location. Their hours are shorter than most so double check those too before you leave ! They have outdoor seating and an entire patio during the warmer months. They cater too! There's been a few times I've been really craving their pasta salad and they were closing within 5 mins and stayed open just for me to come and pick up the pasta salad. A real local gem. read more

I came in yesterday after a few of my friends ordered from the day before. As I always do I volunteer to run for lunch for everyone. My entire time spent from the walk in the door til I got back in my car was 57 mins. I've spent 37 years of my life working in the restaurant business and I have witnessed a lot of chaos but I remember now why I don't go out much anymore. The ladies were very friendly that I will say. The view from the other side of the counter is mind boggling. 1 lady started my sandwich and then 1/4 of the way through went to the back. The other ladies were swapping out areas like they were square dancing. No task that got started was completed by the person who started it. At 1 point 3 people touched the same sandwich. Gloves are fine but burger to club is cooked food to cold food and gloves don't discriminate. The girl that wandered off into the back must have not noticed that she was needed because they kept telling her to forget that and get out there. She also touched my sandwich on her return. It would seem to me that if each one had a set station to concentrate on that it wouldn't look like a Laurel and Hardy show from the customers perspective. The people on both sides of me where also somewhat indifferent about what was going on. I picked up a menu off the counter on the way in the door to have to take back to make it easier for them to order next time and that was convenient however when I got to the register to pay my $37 order was $54 because the menu that I had reflected the old prices. My $7.99 burger was actually $9.99 and so were all the other sandwiches I ordered. It is not okay to display old menu prices and then blindside someone at the register with the real prices. All of your staff kept saying "we'll that's the old prices". So what. If you don't update the menu then why should I find out during the payment process. Pull the menus and make it easier for the people in line looking at the paper menu to be on board with the changes. You have a wonderful little gem here in this plaza but make the necessary changes so first timers like me don't spend their morning steaming over the residual experience. if there was a zero star rating, that's what this place would get! this was my very first time ever trying this place. I was told that there was decent food but after what I have seen I'm not so sure. I completely am appalled at what I have seen. Employees are wearing gloves as they're supposed to but then they're also wiping their faces and noses with gloves on. I can only imagine what else is going on there. Great hidden gem. We stumbled onto this on our way from Cincinnati to Lexington. Very clean, very friendly staff, you can tell they not only enjoy working here, they enjoy working with each other. I recently switched offices from downtown to buttermilk pike and had been searching for a deli since I missed downtown deli food so much. I found this little place and I had the Jamaican chick salad sandwich. It was just ok, like I'm not hungry anymore ok. The sandwich was small for what I'm used to getting for the price. The chicken salad was not flavorful at all, I even took some off the sandwich to see if I'd get any other flavors than mayonnaise and chicken but didn't. I wouldn't order this again. Atmosphere is great, food is decent, help is not very good yet. Messed up my order, criticized my choice of food, over charged me for my combo. Somebody put some money into this place and with help like this they certainly aren't getting it back. Help is yelling about things not working while im typing this out. We order from here all the time at work. The Jamaican Chicken Salad is the only thing I order. I love it! I've heard the Turkey Club is great. Great place to grab lunch. The staff is pretty regular and always friendly. Both varieties of chicken salad are delicious, in fact they're so good that I've never made it past those to try something else! Lots to choose from as well, if you have picky eaters among you. Not a good choice for breakfast. I decided to try this place thinking I could get a fresh egg sandwich to start the day. Instead, my sandwich was made with one of those pre-made (frozen?) egg rounds that was microwaved while the ham and cheese were being heated in a second microwave.
