Oh, Izzys! I wish I had appreciated you more when I lived in Northern Kentucky! I'm a big fan of Reuben sandwiches, so always have to get one when I'm here. What a unique concept for a fast food restaurant that offered dine in service with a waitress and plates/silverware. We ordered a full size order of the Reuben and a potato pancake since this is what they are known for. The waitress was able to separate our Reuben and cut the potato pancake in half. This was my first time at an Izzy's, I happened to find this location after avoiding a traffic jam on I75 and was looking for something different then normal fast food for dinner. I Take ou order the Izzy's famous corned beef sandwich and a potato cake to go. The sandwich is very good the potato cake is amazing. As I waited for my order, I looked at the entire menu, wow, so many delicious options, a Ruben salad is next to try. Today, the place was busy, which says something good. The staff here are pleasant, kind, and will look after their guests. The place is setup in such an away that there's plenty of room. They do keep this place pretty clean, especially between patrons. Even though I am not a huge fan of the potato cakes, it is still good. My go to is the goetta Reuben. We frequent the Izzy's on Mall Road for lunch at least once or twice a month. Service is friendly and consistent. Food is prompt, consistent, hot, and always delicious. You can't go wrong with a grilled Reuben and a potato pancake. Is he provides kosher dill, pickles as their "appetizer " and we have burned through our fair share of them enjoying each one. I have also had the Izzy burger from here where they will make it like a "Izzy boy " as a big boy substitute. The hamburger is enormous, but it's a good cut of beef, a proper bun, and a very satisfying sandwich. I have never left here, disappointed. Izzy's has long been one of our favourite sandwich shops with their specialty being Rueben sandwiches. I've gotten lots of different variations of those in the past all of which I've discussed in past reviews. On this occasion I went a different direction and tried their Goetta Supreme sandwich. It comes with corned beef, Glier's Goetta, swiss cheese and Izzy's Special Sauce which closely resembles 1000 Island dressing. It all meshes very well together with the delicious corned beef and Goetta both stellar on their own but something special when combined. The cheese and sauce finish off a particularly tasty sandwich. Of course no trip to Izzy's is complete without having one of their potato pancakes which are still the best I've ever had by a fairly wide margin. I'm telling you if you haven't tried one yet then you're really missing out. The service was great and the store was clean as usual. Yet another fantastic lunch at Izzy's. read more

We were so excited to pass this Izzy's , we pulled a u turn and went for lunch ! My mom & sister came to pick me up from the CVG Airport ( I'm visiting from Miami, Fl ) and we were heading to first watch to grab a bite, when we spotted Izzy's! I hadn't had their famous potato pancakes in years ! I ordered the famous Izzy's Reuben, but with Turkey instead. They have a Turkey rueben on the menu which comes with sweet & sour coleslaw on a roll , but I prefer the traditional sauerkraut and rye bread , so that's why I ordered the way I did. I also recommend having it grilled ! It was delicious! My sister and mom had the famous pastrami Rueben and loved theirs, too. I ordered a side of their special sauce ( which is basically thousand island dressing ) and we all dipped our sandwiches in it. The sandwiches come with their yummy potato pancake. I love ketchup on 1/2 and spicy mustard on the other 1/2 for different tastes, but they're just as yummy plain, too ! One other shout out for this location near Florence mall is their cute & very clean bathroom ! Lol. I take comfort knowing that their food is clean and fresh when they care this much about decorating and keeping their restroom this clean and fresh ! we stopped at Izzy's on Elm in Cincinnati while on vacation today. it was absolutely fantastic! Tracy recommended the daily special and she was spot ON. I honestly wanted to love it here. It might be more if you're huge fan of Rueben's but I'm not sure we are anymore. The thousand island was great. I did enjoy the potato pancake. First time here and enjoyed our visit! We stopped here on our way back to Michigan from our vacation in North Carolina. As we were walking in, a couple saw us approaching and asked if we were coming in. We said yes and they said that we were in for a good meal. When were greeted by the server, she set down a HUGE bowl of pickles. Overall my husband did enjoy the sandwich that he ordered and I did enjoy my cod sandwich. My cod was super hot and I appreciate that - fish can cool quickly so I know it was brought out to us promptly. I Dossow really enjoyed that I was able to order the bun on my sandwich as it comes, or grilled, or toasted. Both meals came with a potato pancake. finally had to try this local sandwich place out as it was highly recommended a few times. I had the classic Reuben whichwas pretty good! But I feel like they kind of lacked on the thousand island dressing. It was literally stuffed to the brim with the typical Reuben fillings but the dressing was just not entirely there. I had the Thanksgiving on a roll great combination of flavors. No skimping on my sandwich I have to say I only ate half. My husband had the Reuben of course I had a bit and wow that rye bread was amazing and everything married perfectly. The potato cakes were amazing. Wow! What a great memory relived. This is our first experience in the new location - great spot. It was busy so we opted for al fresco. With the outdoor seating covered and on the east side of the building, we were protected from the summer sun and enjoyed the breeze-through. We ordered our nostalgic favorites, including the classic Rueben, but switched it up on grilled wheatberry - what? Where has this been all my life...???! The menu wad much larger than I remember it being when I tried another Izzy's years ago. I decided to go with their namesake; The Izzy's Famous Ruben. Thinly sliced corned beef was piled on top of soft rye bread. Corned beef was topped with sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and lastly their own Thousand Island dressing. Bread was very soft. Almost white bread soft. Potato pancake is more batter/ flour based than I am use to. The green onion was a welcome touch. Not a meal I would crave, but an option when out running errands. For eating in, seat yourself. A server will be by to take your order. There is a counter for togo orders. Both dine in and togo orders pay at the counter. Restaurants seem to be clean. Took my mom to lunch today to one of our favorites. You are greeted with a smile and their delicious pickles. I could eat those all day long. I decided on a goetta on rye with sautéed onions. You could make the same quality/taste or better by getting Boar's Head meat from the deli at a Kroger and making your own.
