Goetta Rueben and a potato pancake

I had never been and we were there on a Friday and got the daily special with a matzo ball soup and a goetta Rueben. It was great and the waitstaff was very friendly and kind.

What a unique concept for a fast food restaurant that offered dine in service with a waitress and plates/silverware. We ordered a full size order of the Reuben and a potato pancake since this is what they are known for. The waitress was able to separate our Reuben and cut the potato pancake in half. We also got Cole slaw. Everything we ate was delicious! I wish we had a place like this closer to home. They also give your complimentary pickles. Don't pass up this restaurant! This is worth trying! Price was reasonable as well.

Great staff who helped us with our first time visiting on what to order. Love the menu options. Delicious! Would definitely come again. The Izzy's Mex was amazing. Potato cake was a fun side as well.

This was my first time at an Izzy's, I happened to find this location after avoiding a traffic jam on I75 and was looking for something different then normal fast food for dinner. I Take ou order the Izzy's famous corned beef sandwich and a potato cake to go. The sandwich is very good the potato cake is amazing. As I waited for my order, I looked at the entire menu, wow, so many delicious options, a Ruben salad is next to try. Order was ready in less than 5 minutes and the staff was friendly and happy to help me decide which bread to get on my sandwich.

Izzy's has long been one of our favourite sandwich shops with their specialty being Rueben sandwiches. I've gotten lots of different variations of those in the past all of which I've discussed in past reviews. On this occasion I went a different direction and tried their Goetta Supreme sandwich. It comes with corned beef, Glier's Goetta, swiss cheese and Izzy's Special Sauce which closely resembles 1000 Island dressing. It all meshes very well together with the delicious corned beef and Goetta both stellar on their own but something special when combined. The cheese and sauce finish off a particularly tasty sandwich. Of course no trip to Izzy's is complete without having one of their potato pancakes which are still the best I've ever had by a fairly wide margin. I'm telling you if you haven't tried one yet then you're really missing out. The service was great and the store was clean as usual. Yet another fantastic lunch at Izzy's.

Let me just say "GREAT Ruben sandwich. We both had the Rubenator Sandwich. One with coleslaw and one with the legendary potato pancake. Both were very good sandwiches for a good price. Easy off and easy on to I-75 Interstate. Would definitely recommend.

Good place to stop if you are craving a Reuben, pickles and potato pancakes were yummy. Sauerkraut didn't have much flavor.

The atmosphere is exactly what you'd want from a neighborhood taproom: casual, lively, and family-friendly. The bar is huge, with an impressive selection of draft beers (especially if you're an IPA fan), and they also have bourbon bottles available for purchase. We ordered burgers, and they were all really good. One bun seemed a little stale, but it didn't take away from the overall meal. The cheese curds were a standout: piping hot, crispy, and definitely worth ordering. The beef nachos, on the other hand, were a bit disappointing. They arrived cold and just didn't have the same wow factor as the rest of the food. My sweet potato fries were a little soggy, but I took the leftovers home and popped them in the air fryer the next day, and they turned out fantastic. Overall, I'd definitely go back. If you're looking for a laid-back spot with great burgers, a huge beer selection, and a menu that has something for just about everyone in the family, dog and kid friendly, 859 Taproom is a solid choice.

The Fat Man tries to find hidden gems, holes in the walls, or any small mom-and-pop establishment…read morewith good food. While traveling in northern Kentucky, he stumbled upon one of these places, The Farmstand Market & Cafe. Farmstand offers comfort food with a farm-to-table focus served in a cozy space with a bar and attached market. We started with the Goetta Hanky Panky Dip. This was made with cheesy goetta, bagel chips, pumpernickel bread, and light rye served in a cast iron skillet. The dip had a good sausage flavor with salt and some light spice while being cheesy, creamy, and full of flavor. The bagel chips were very crispy but were not served warm. The pumpernickel and rye were dry. Each complimented the dip, adding texture to the bite. My wife had the Reuben Sandwich. This sandwich came with sliced corned beef, homemade Thousand Island, pickled pig sauerkraut, and Swiss cheese on light rye with bacon ranch pasta salad. The pasta salad was cooked spot on while also being creamy. The bacon added crunch and saltiness to the salad. The rye had a great toast, and the Thousand Island was tangy and creamy. The pastrami was dry but had a good salty flavor. The sauerkraut was crunchy and had a good sour flavor cutting through the salty meat and the sweet dressing. The cheese was gooey and nutty and added flavor to each bite. I sampled the French dip sandwich and Mulligatawny soup. This was prepared with a sliced top round with provolone on a French roll. The soup was prepared with rice, chicken, carrots, onions, celery, lentils and spices. The chicken was very tender, the rice was cooked well, and the vegetables added texture to the rice. The soup was flavorful, had a wonderful aroma, and had a good salt content. The top round was thin and offered good flavor and chew. The roll was fresh and had a good chew paired with the ooey and gooey cheese with an excellent buttery flavor. The au jus had good flavor but was slightly salty, which overpowered it. Farmstand offers grilled cheeses, hot sandwiches, burgers, salads, appetizers, soups and main entrees. They also serve beer and have a full bar. The servers were pleasant and knowledgeable. The Fat Man says that The Farmstand Market & Cafe is Fat Man Approved with 1 chin.
