Let me just say this. Skyline Chili is one of my favorite decadent comfort meals. It is not health food. It is not subtle. It is a beautiful pile of happiness. So when I saw they were open at 6:00 in the morning during a layover in Cincinnati, I knew the angels were singing and my day had purpose. Breakfast? Chili and cheese wrap. Like a responsible adult. And it was absolutely stunning delicious. Decadent. Cheesy. Warm. The kind of meal that says, "You have nowhere important to be," even though you very much do. Now here is the issue. This is an airport location. Time is not just money, it is literally whether or not you end up in Cleveland by accident. You need a minimum one hour and twenty minute layover to even consider ordering. Anything less and you are playing boarding pass roulette. They are that slow. At one point there was a person standing at the front counter staring thoughtfully at the ceiling tiles like they were studying architectural history, while the lone hero in the kitchen was trying to crank out orders for the entire airport. It was like watching a two person play where only one actor knew their lines. The food is delicious. Truly. Worthy of devotion. But the process moves at a pace that suggests no planes are actually leaving today. So I have to ding them one star for the time warp and give them four stars overall. Come hungry. Come early. And maybe stretch before you stand in line. read more

Recent trip to Cincinnati and we had all heard about the Cincinnati chili. Skyline is supposed to be a place to get it. Maybe its Cincinnati but I thought it sucked. It reminded me of school spaghetti and sauce lunch from the school cafeteria. I think its the Cincinnati concept and not the problem with this place, but I didn't think it was very good and don't think it would be different any where else. I get the sense that people from Cincinnati just dont know what good chili or good spaghetti sauce is. Sorry locals, dont mean to offend you all. It just wasnt very good. No frills service. Arrived close to opening, was immediately given a table and immediately given my food. Nice server but not over the top. It's a very "right to the point" kind of place if you know what I mean. Sometimes you need a place or two like that in your lunch rotation. Quick and easy service. Good food and it's always consistent. I know exactly what to expect each time and look forward to it. Everything was nice and hot and the prices are reasonable for the heaping amount you get. So I heard about Cincinnati chili and the combination sounded weird with chili and cheese on top of spaghetti. Since I was in town I want to give it a try. The combination was not as bad as it sounds and worked together. The dish is a little bland with the spaghetti and beans. I had to add hot sauce, which was provided on the table, for a little more flavor. The service was really good as the waitress quick and attentive. It was kind of lackluster. The spaghetti was way overcooked. I guess some people like it really soft and mushy and all in one big glob. The chili itself was just so so. The portion was good. The cheese topping was pretty good. The young lady at the drive-through window was extremely pleasant, which is why I'm giving it a three star review. read more

This was my family's first visit to this iconic chili palace. 3-ways and Coney's for everyone. Yes, to new-comers, chile makes a phenomenal sauce for spaghetti. And how can you go wrong with chili-cheese hotdogs. The dining areas are a little compact, but kept clean. Our waitress was amazing, super helpful, patient with the first timers in our group, and ready to refill our drinks. She earned her tip! And Skyline has earned a group of new followers. read more

I have finally tried the famous Skyline Chili!!! Not going to lie, I love chili spaghetti and I have seen the frozen food version of this dish. I loved my 4 way spaghetti with onions. Their description says there is a mound of cheese and that was not a lie. The small was small, so next time I would definitely choose the regular size. My husband tried the coney dogs and they were delightfully cute. The hot dog itself was short, but the chili on top with cheese is yummy. I would love to come back here again and eat some more yummy food. read more

I was forced to come here. I don't see the appeal. I don't see the point either. My fiancé on the other hand, is in love with it because he is from the area and he believes Skyline Chili is the best thing next to the invention of fire. I visited this restaurant after flying in from Houston because I wanted to try the Cincinnati chili. So I looked up on yelp and saw this location had 4 stars and some real good reviews. Service was great, walked in and was greeted within seconds. Was seated and waitress took drink order and deliver a couple bowls of oyster crackers. She took our order, me and my buddy Jim ordered a chili cheese coney and medium bowl of chili "5" ways. Our order came out very quickly and while we were eating some of the staff came over and chatted with us for a short time. They told us the history of Cincinnati chili and it's ties to Greek immigrants. while we were chatting they brought us an order of funnel cake fries and they were delicious! Okay, first a disclaimer: This is Cincinnati chili. It's unique to this area and has a unique flavor due to the the special blend of ingredients. Google it if you've never tried it before! It's not for everyone; but, I happen to enjoy it and have craved it often in the 30 years since I was first introduced to it. Coming in from out of town on business I had been looking forward to a coney and 5-way since this trip was mentioned. The service was fast and attentive, the food was fresh, hot and tasted exactly as I remembered. A fair price for a satisfying fast food meal, that doesn't taste like the crap lost of the nationwide chains are churning out. This is not "five star" dining! But for Cincinnati chili, this is as good as it gets in my book! read more

Came for a quick lunch while at a training in the area. The food was decent considering the price, and it was prepared well. The cheese on the fries wasn't melted at all, which lended to there being no purpose for it at all -- save yourself the $2. Salad came without dressing, even though it was listed as an ingredient on the menu. The meal came out super quick, which was great. What I definitely appreciated was that the manager was incredibly accommodating of my friend who follows a vegan diet in making sure that what was ordered was vegan friendly. read more

Living in Texas, I don't get skyline often anymore, so the restaurant is up against memories - which generally far outpace reality! In this case, everything was spot on. Had heard alot about Skyline Chili from relatives and hubby and I finally stopped. We tried the 3-way and a coney dog, both Lite style with 1/2 the amount of cheese. Cheese was still piled high on both the dog and the spaghetti. The chili is on the sweeter side, as others mention with chocolate and cinnamon in it. You can definitely taste the cinnamon. The chili is a much more watery style than we're used to and quite a different taste. It was good, but neither one of us could eat it very often as in maybe once a year. I guess it's fine, as we don't live anywhere near a Skyline anyway... There was a vast amount of cheese, even lite style. I liked the coney dog better than the 3-way. The bread was super soft and it was just the right amount of toppings with the chili and cheese. We each got a package of oyster crackers and I ate mine by themselves. At the second bag later, I liked them that much. Service was very friendly. Would maybe return if I was here again on a trip. read more

Having tried Gold Star, I had to try their competitor while I was in town again, and I have to say I like both. While skyline is more of a sit down restaurant, they still get food out rather quickly and don't suffer a drop in quality for it. The chili is a bit more watery than at Gold Star, but not to any significant degree to affect the taste, and I'm loving the Greek options in the menu especially the salad which was damn good. I'll have to try other items when I'm back again in the future. read more

Awesome chili. Me being from the south, this concept of chili was completely different, but it was good. I got the five way, and boy oh boy was it awesome. The only reason I did not give it five starts was because the chili was lacking the kick I expect chili to have; although the table did have hot sauce on it. Another great skyline location. Good food, clean and friendly service! My cheese fries were a very over done but but edible. And when they asked how everything was and I brought that up. I absolutely love Skyline and it never disappoints. This location isn't my favorite though. I think because of the large flow of people at this location they see so many customers in and out every day that their heart just isn't in it. If your in Florence I would head to the location on Mall rd., the service is just more friendly there. But if you're looking for a quick coney, any location will do, and I've never had an issue with my food here. read more

The chili was good as usual but I found the service at this location to be a little lacking. The place was not busy yet 4 of the 5 employees (younger kids) just stood around while one employee had to work the drive thru and cash us out and it didn't need to be like that. read more
