Goetta!! Not sure where my review went but here's another one. My dad's family is from NKY/Cinci area and I grew up with goetta. I've participated in the Goetta Fest put on by another producer. I love this stuff. Is it super healthy?? No. Is it delicious gift from heaven? Why, YES. So any time I come up to the area I try somewhere that makes goetta. This was a nice neighborhood meat market that makes their own so i had to try it. It was pretty good. They do make it WITHOUT MSG, so if that stuff gives you a headache or if you have to watch your salt intake, they have an option for you! I bought a goetta, egg, and cheese sandwich and it was tasty. If I was nearby, I'd try it again. I also took a few pounds home and cooked it over the next week. Now, back to my search for goetta and on to the next butcher shop! ;) read more

The deli and meat section is top shelf. The roast beef, Finke's turkey, and goetta are better than anywhere else. If you ever want quality meat this is definitely the place to come. We have come here on two separate occasions- the first was to purchase filet mignon to make beef Wellington and the second time we purchased ribeye steaks for a steak dinner. Both times the quality of the meat was exceptional. Everyone at the store is very friendly and willing to answer any questions. On our most recent visit we picked up a few grocery items as well, so this was convenient to have it be a one stop shop. I am a huge fan of goetta and I definitely want to try theirs in the near future- they have several different varieties available and I've heard nothing but positive things about it! read more

I absolutely love this little market. I'm originally from a very small rural town, and coming in here gives me that small town feeling that I desperately miss living so close to the city. They have a limited selection of products, but enough variety that I am able to find everything I need to throw together a meal. They have seasonal produce, freezer foods, general dry goods, and a great beer selection. They also have a rotating selection of wonderful meals you can order for a quick breakfast or lunch. The best part, however, is their meat selection. You can tell they put a lot of care into this part of their business. Everything is always SO FRESH. You really can taste the difference between what you get from here compared to a bigger chain grocery store. My wife and I buy our meat there from time to time, because we have never been sold a bad piece of meat. You can also get a round steak cubed. Try that in a big box store. Most of them don't even have a cuber. If it isn't in the case you are out of luck. Finke's also has the best gotta that I have tasted my mom passed away. I give them 3 bc I feel bad bc they are a small business and at this time I feel horrible saying they really just suck. What kind of butcher has 2 kinds of meat and most of it is frozen. Could have saved myself a trip and just went to Kroger bc they pretty much have the same thing. Another stop on my endless search for great local butcher shops. Finkes' is a one stop location, that sells not only great meats, but also a nice selection of craft beers, snack foods, canned goods and even dog food! I ended up here one evening during a blizzard when leaving work, I was forced to take the back roads home to avoid a 3 hour stand still on 71/75. My husband and I realized we didn't have much in the house and it was still snowing, so we stopped at Finke's and stocked up. While a little more expensive on cuts of meat than say, Stamms in Erlanger, or Besslers in Covington, they have their own niche. As another poster mentioned, they have the best goetta in all of Northern Kentucky. And I've tried it all. Hands down, the best. I also love their deli selections, and will often drive their on my lunch hour to get some buffalo chicken salad or other specialty items that only Finke's carries. Friendly staff, all seem to have worked at other butchers over the years and are very willing to help make suggestions for dinner, or to give samples, which tells me they take pride in what they make, seeing that they're so willing to share with you! read more

Finke's is a small neighborhood type grocery, complete with a meat counter and deli. You can pick up a deli sandwich, made to order, quickly and inexpensively. In addition to steaks, chicken, pork chops and other cuts of meat, they have prepared chicken, tuna and pasta salads. I was just there to get a deli sandwich to go, but will be back to shop from the the butcher case. Plenty of parking is available out front. read more

They make their own Goetta, and it is the BEST I have found in the region/ever. So I decided to try and make my own recipe of Goetta. When buying the ingredients they knew what I was up to, and told my my method would be too lean (which it was I learned the hard way). Finke's knows what they are doing. They are the best meat/butcher in the region. I asked for ground pork loin, and they gave it to me as it was nothing. If you're looking for premium meat this is the place to go. read more

GOETTA, GOETTA, GOETTA! Not only is Finke's the place to get the BEST Goetta in the universe, they're also some of the nicest folks around. I stopped by Finke's to drop a deer off for butchering (turning it ALL into Goetta, btw) a few weeks ago. I brought two of my young sons with me. While I was filling out my paperwork for my Goetta order, one of the other Finke's was kind enough to spark up a conversation with my boys (who were obviously getting bored while dad filled out paperwork). He offered them some Bazooka gum (for real...this place still has that rock-hard gum with the comic on the wrapper!) and joked around with them while they waited. I picked up some "regular" goetta and a few other things that morning and we had one of the best breakfasts ever. The prices are also better than some of the more "commercial" goetta you can buy. After having lived in the Cincinnati-N KY area for many years, we moved to Arizona and now N. Carolina. Every year, we get 20-30 lbs of Finke's spicy goetta shipped to us (or pick it up when we visit relatives). It is by far the best goetta in the region. And their ham salad is terrific too. I am sure the one hanging has some sentimental value - but a new sign would make the front more appealing to seasoned clients and help in attracting new business.
