Wassler Meats is a great local butcher shop that specializes in all different cuts of meats and salads. I'm a fairly new customer here after trying a bratwurst from here at an Octoberfest party. I stopped in and saw their large selection of mets and bratwurst. They are absolutely delicious and made in house. Got to stop in Wasslers and see for yourself read more

I love going to Wassler's! They have delicious meats and cheeses for my sandwiches and offer nice affordable prices. They have excellent customer service and remember me when I come in. I bring my baby with me and he loves looking around the deli and helping me pick out a pigs ear for my doggy. Highly recommend!! read more

great service and a great choice of some of the best butcher shop choices, some bakery item and many other items. great service too.

this plays sucks. meat is horrible. the ground beef was 99% fat and i don't like fat people so this made me angry so i can't eat their meat anymore and i live close to the store and its disappointing because i been going here for years but i cant any longer thank you for your time :( read more

Wassler meats brought me the most delightful experience! With bright smiles on everyone's face as I walked through the door, the wassler meat market employees made me a wonderful, delicious sandwich! I also got to indulge in the best goetta I've ever had! Everyone should come here for their deli meat, Cincinnati local cravings, and for fresh tasting meat! Amazing family owned business. read more

I stopped by Wasslers last week. I have been shopping there for well over 15 years. Why? The reason I keep coming back is their products continue to meet the same standards year after year. Some of my favorites, metts, brats, cottage ham( the best in town) fresh sausage, and their assorted daily fresh cuts of meat. There is a reason people support them, year after year. If you haven't tried them, you should. You will be glad you did. read more

Wasslers has small, smelly meat. It's unkept, unsatisfying and uninspiring. Oh and their food stinks too!

Goetta was mostly oats. hardly any meat. Didn't brown like normal goetta. I bought it for a brunch. Very disappointed. other things so bought were good. read more

Their brats have gone down hill! Used to be best in town , but are mushy and lack taste. Not buying anymore. read more

The best meat market on the west side, homemade sausages, freshly prepared, meats, and deli specialties. They are true service oriented business. They always greet you when you walk in the door and there's plenty of people on hand to take care of customers. Their Goetta rings are the absolute best. So many specialty items that you cannot get in a regular meat market. It is no wonder they have been in existence for so long. Well done keep it up! read more

We don't live in the area, but I had driven by Wassler's so many times before finally stopping there right before Christmas. Since then, I've made 3 return trips. First and foremost, the folks working there are so helpful with both recommendations as far as food choices as well as tips on how best to prepare things. And the quality is top notch. I am very particular when it comes to goetta and I love the taste of their homemade brand. GREAT selection of meats and I'm also a fan of their city chicken. My wife tried the small sizes of some of their salads and since that first trip I've now been picking up the large sizes as she can't get enough of them. And their soups are just INCREDIBLE. Best chicken and wild rice I think I've ever tasted. You don't find places like this any longer so they are worth the 20-30 minute trip to get there! read more

Great brats! Drove from way on the east side to try these guys out as I heard this is where the CVG Hofbrauhaus gets their brats. Friendly, helpful staff. Nice selection of meats/deli items too. Will make the trek again! read more

Great family owned butcher shop. The staff is great! And their meat is delicious! Best butcher in Cincinnati!

Have been using Wassler's for many years and now that they have gone to curbside during COVID they are price Gouging. They charged me $4.29 for a dozen eggs I bought a week earlier for $2.69. If you place an order by phone ask for what things costs. These guys are part of the Cheviot neighborhood for many years and not a time to take advantage of families. Hope you have a business when this over. I am done! read more

I went to Wassler Meats yesterday because their neighbors R & R Meats is closed on Wednesday. Yesterday I bought some chicken salad that was runny and sour tasting and just not good at all, it was also priced at $8.00 a pound. Their stuffed potatoes were ok but really missing enough cheese and no bacon. What I totally can't believe the filet mignon I bought which is priced at $45.00 a pound. Jeez in other meat stores I know of you can get real Wagyu for that price. I grilled that steak tonight and I can honestly say I have never had a filet that tough and just NOT good tasting especially at $45 a pound. My steak was over $16.00 by the way. I also bought their prepared Beef Tips and noodles. Two pounds of the stuff was $15.00 and with my track record of awful food from that place I am not counting on the Beef Tips to be any better. I got so ripped off yesterday I feel like I was on an episode of PUNK'D read more

I lived in the westside my entire life and have driven by Wassler Meats many times, but never stopped in. A friend highly recommended I check them out and I'm glad I did. I've been wanting to slow smoke brisket and decided to stop by for their expertise. The place is small but well laid out. It was busy for a Friday afternoon which likely just means I'm the last person on the westside to know to shop there. They had a lot of workers behind the counter and I wasn't there for more than a minute before they asked if I needed help. I told the person I was planning to smoke brisket and she got me some additional help from a guy who brought out a huge slab of brisket from the cooler. He could tell I was new to smoking brisket and was nice enough to ask some key questions like what type of smoker I had and explained the different parts of brisket and recommended I do my first smoke with the flat cut. They offered to trim the fat but he recommended that to maintain the moisture, that I do minimal if any trimming and to smoke with the fat side up. So I took his advice and the brisket turned out perfect. It was a great cut of meat and extremely tender after a 9.5 hour smoke (6lb brisket flat). I've had multiple people now tell me to try their homemade brats/Mets so that's next for me. I can't believe I haven't been there before now. Friendly staff, expert advice, fast service and high quality products. They also carry all of the local favorites like Gary's cheesecake, Izzy pickles & EX-EL pickled products. Please support your local businesses and you won't be disappointed with a shopping stop @ Wassler Meats. read more

Every year I think way too hard about what to serve for Christmas Day and this year decided to simplify. I ordered a 1 foot Italian sub for 5 people and it was perfect! I thought about getting 2 ft. but was assured when I ordered that this would be plenty and it definitely was! The meat was piled high just like they said it would be and everybody loved it! Lunch meat is very reasonably priced and better then any you can get at the grocery store. We also love their beer sausages! If you want friendly service, quality, and a fair price - this is the place to go. Trust me - you will not be disappointed! read more

I used to come here several times a month years ago. Today was the first day back in years due to me moving around. I was greeted nicely. The store is clean and staff today was younger guys with large ear rings in. I ordered under 10 pounds of ground chuck. I asked how much meat I would need to feed 5 people the younger man had to ask the older guy. Yes this was a test. Just like a barber shop vs a hair salon both will do your hair. This store has history with the locals and that's great. I only picked up fresh ground chuck that is supposed to be 90/10 and grilling it will bring out taste of fresher meat. At least I'm hoping for it to turn out that way. I will update my review after the grill does its job. Seeing younger guys with ear rings that are large just does not fit well with me in a butcher shop. That's my outlook on things. Years ago I enjoyed the butcher shop. Today not so much. read more

As far as I know, Avril's, Wassler's and maybe Stehlin's are the only butchers left in Cincinnati making their own sausages and lunchmeats. I like Wassler's "Pop's" brand best. You think Boar's Head is something? Try the stuff that isn't mass produced! Also like their city chicken, country ribs, burgers, and small selection of groceries. Love their frozen fish....that may sound strange for a butcher shop, but I've never had a bad piece of fish from them. And I trust their cooking tips! (Their half pound burgers are what's used at Quatman's!) read more

Family tradition. My dad went when I was growing up when they had a stand down at market. We moved back to the west side and one perk was being so close to them. I walk in and say I need this kind of meat for this many people and if I want leftovers or not. They always seem to give me the best cuts and the right amount. They are even available for cooking questions. read more

I am a third generation wassler's customer. They have known my family for years. There are very few places that will cut the exact piece of meat you want. The have store made groud beef and chuck. Their lunchmeat is great, Try the whole eckrich peperoni sticks, and thier homemade brats, metts. and (yes) even hotdogs Make sure you give them a try! read more

I've been going here for a few years now and have always been happy with their customer service and quality of meats. Not being from the westside, when I moved into the area there were a lot of places I could choose from, but these guys consistently meet and exceed my expectations. If you want to support a local small butcher, this is one of the better ones to go to - great selection and lots of home made items for sale. They also have a fish fry during lent which I love too! read more

Great neighborhood butcher shop. Best Weißwurst on this side of the Atlantic. I am from Munich snd get my Weißwurst fix there. Combined with Servatii's pretzels and a Sherman Weißbier I feel like I am back home. read more

I am here at least once per week and have never been disappointed. Everything is very fresh and they will trim/cut it any way you prefer. It has a very small town feel that makes you feel like your business is important. The prices are good too. They also carry breads and other things from the North College Hill bakery, which is worth five stars in itself. read more

The issue Wasslers has is that they are near R and R Meats. They just aren't as good. I went in one day and asked for 4 burgers. The guy behind the counter tried to take me to there freezer section and I was like "no, fresh is what I want". If I wanted frozen I would go to the grocery store. So they told me they only have half pounders fresh and I wanted quarter pounders. They wanted to cut the half pounders in half ? I was truly baffles and concerned. Finally they were willing to make me some real quick. So here is the difference. The first time I got burgers to make from a butcher I went to R and Rs and asked about getting burgers. Try asked me size and just made them up real quick without me asking. That is what helped sell me on a butcher vs grocery store. So I get my burgers there. R and R is closed on Wednesday so I went to Wasslers expecting to get the same level of service and I was sadly mistaken. They were nice enough about it all but didn't want to do the work that their peers offered to do. Also, hamburger isn't quite as good and the burgers weren't as nicely shaped as I'm used too. I know I can do it myself but I've grown used to my butcher taking care of me and Wasslers just isn't the same service. Still better than a grocery store, but only barely. read more
