One of the last great sandwich shops in downtown Cincinnati. Lot's to choose from. Super quick service. Very good food. Huge helpings. Affordable and just great people. Please don't let this place close. I've been going there for 20+ years. read more

I've been going to the Red Fox Grill for over 40 years. Fresh food, great service ! Don't forget to bring cash....no Credit cards.

They have been downtown for years and this is my first time experiencing their food and let me tell you they are amazing I absolutely love their double-deckers air fries. Their double-decker's are big and juicy not all dry. You are getting your moneys worth with their food. I'm just sorry I never been in there sooner I will be back. Their customer service is excellent and the atmosphere is nice and pleasant .There are in the right spot for a lot of business so please keep up the good work. Please go and check them out you will never regret it. read more

Pass this place a lot but never been until opening day morning we decided to stop and eat before heading to the parade. The service was 1000% top notch we were with our 12 month old daughter and they treated her like an absolute princess. The food was simple yet great, this will forever be on our list of hidden gems and we will continue to visit whenever downtown. Forewarning they are cash only, but an atm about a block away if needed. The place offered a cozy diner feel and the real winner is the excellent staff that treat you like you're at home! read more

A great little spot for lunch, offering good quality food at a fair price. The service is quick and reliable.

We ordered ahead on a Thursday at lunchtime. The place wasn't super busy and we were helped quickly. Interior is super dated but it's a nostalgic kind of feeling. Food was great but they only took cash. read more

If you like friendly service, DELICIOUS double decker club sandwiches (huge variety) like they made in the good ole days- you will love this place. They don't make places like this anymore. It's not the boring shabby chic froo froo industrial hipster vibe - it's authentic and real. That's why it's been here so long. You should try it! read more

The service was speedy. My sandwich tasted great! The bacon was crisp and the tomato was fresh. The pickles were an upcharge but weren't great. They were standard pickle slices and not crunchy. I chose the rye bread which was a nice change. It was a nice. full and tasty double decker. They also serve double decker hamburgers which looked good. read more

Whenever we are in the Cincinnati area, we always go down to red Fox. The staff there is so friendly and my grandparents used to go there when it first opened so they already know what we all want. 100% must try if in the Cincinnati area. read more

I woke up this morning craving a breakfast sandwich. Not just any sandwich would do. Not feeling the normal MCD egg McMuffin. I wanted something homemade. Stopped by the Red Fox Downtown. Picked up a scrambled egg sandwich with cheese and tomato. I have to say it was absolutely delicious! Hot and fresh, I could probably have put down two or three. I'll save that for next time. Fast and friendly service, I was in/out in less than 5 minutes. read more

Family Run business delivers tasty diner food with consistently good quality. I like the BLT, or 2-3-4 burger.

Today I was down town for an eye appointment. I came here for lunch. The food and service were excellent . I used to work a block away I would often eat here . They had a frozen yogurt to go that was the best I've ever eaten. I worked near here for twenty six years. I worked in Springdale for fifteen years and have been retired for twelve . Today when I walked in the owner recognized me by name . I was very impressed and will return soon . It's a good restaurant with honest hard working people. The ambience is unchanged it was like coming home again . In an era where everything is changing and prices have gone through the roof . This establishment is good service good food at a good price . With history. read more

This was a little diner style restaurant in the heart of downtown Cincinnati. It's open for breakfast and lunch but not for dinner. They committed my cardinal sin of not having everything listed on their menu as they didn't have their bbq sandwich that I wanted to try. The service was okayish and they only take cash so keep that in mind. Anyway here's the food review.... Grilled Bacon And Cheese Sandwich And Fries What Is It: Exactly what it says. Nothing more nothing less. Presentation: Pretty basic plating as it's hard to have a fancy presentation with a sandwich and fries. Good enough. 6 out of 10 Taste/ Final Analysis: This was a good take on the classic grilled cheese. They put tons of bacon on here which is good. It was cooked right and had decent flavour. They used mostly swiss cheese and I think they may have had some American on there too although I'm not sure about the latter. The fries were pretty stock and one's you could get anywhere. It was a good sandwich and not a terrible restaurant although it doesn't have anything that jumps off the page at me. Thumbs squarely in the middle for this place. Unfortunately I did not get a picture of our massive sandwiches! I got the Club (double decker) and it was amazing! They do shaved deli meat which is the best in my opinion. Fries were hot, service was fast and great, and it was a great price. Will definitely be returning. Additionally it was nice to see business men in suits sitting next to construction workers- gives that old city feel which is cool. read more

Red Fox Grill is another Downtown restaurant I make my way to at least once a month. This place, for me, is always a solid choice. Menu: Red Fox Grill offers the usual diner fare. I haven't seen much of a change in their menu in all the years I've been a customer. Food: Here's one part where the "Solid Choice" comes into play. I order the "2-3-4" Cheeseburger and fries almost every time. The burger is always good, and semi-sloppy -- just the way I like it. Everything is cooked and prepared where I can see it...which is a real plus. The fries are freshly fried and crispy. The only small drawback are the fries are a bit on the bland side. Atmosphere: The decor seems unchanged by time with no frills. However, it is what you would expect a diner to look like...except it is very clean. Service: I usually get my food to go, but on rare occasion, I eat inside the establishment. When I get my food to go the people who take my order are very friendly and accurate. When I had eaten in the restaurant, the waitress was stressed and didn't have much of a personality. I will say this for her, she was accurate and did check on us frequently...which helped make things better. Summary: I know what you may be saying -- why just 4 stars? This restaurant "only" accepts cash. A majority of Downtown restaurants accept both cash and credit card. This means if you want diner fare, you can: Get cash from an ATM, (unless you have it on you) or settle going elsewhere. Nevertheless, the food is good and worth recommending. read more

I have only patronized this place in the mornings years ago when i worked downtown.. The breakfast sandwiches here are beyond amazing.. I've never been here before but when it's free count me in. YES I AM A FOOD LOADER!!! PROBLEM? Lol! Back to what I was saying... My foreman said lunch was on him at the Red Fox Grill. While working he looked in the window and noticed there BLT sandwich, I guess he had to have it. I had an ELT, it was banging, and I know his sandwich had nothing on mine. Bacon is just disgusting! It shouldn't exist! Shoot for the ELT Yelpers, trust me! read more

Here's what you need to know: It's cash-only There are so many tables that you can expect immediate seating They offer carry-out If you're a vegetarian, just keep walking. While the restaurant is clean and the service is friendly, I ultimately left feeling disappointed. There is so much potential that seems to be squandered by lackluster food. The menu can be graciously described as your choice of prison food. In fact, I doubt the offerings have been updated since the last remodel of the restaurant (I'm guessing late 1980's...). This is not a place for those with discriminating taste - those who don't like relish in their egg salad - or those inclined toward healthier options. Although I can think of better ways to spend your money, it is relatively inexpensive and you don't have to guess at any of the words on the menu. If you're the type of guy who doesn't pack his lunch, doesn't like to try new things, and wants nothing more than a greasy hamburger with fries, I think you've met your match. read more

Don't come to Red Fox expecting fancy dishes, healthy options, and the ability to use your credit card. It's simply a burger and sandwich diner, perfectly located for P&Gers who work at the downtown location. I got a burger and fries, and was satisfied with my meal. The burger was smaller than I expected and a little heavy on the mayo, but still tasted good nonetheless (next time I'll ask for mayo on the side). The fries were excellent - crispy, thin, reminiscent of McDonald's fries! (Don't even talk to me if you're not a fan of the fries at McD's...) The service was extremely quick, the staff was friendly, and the place was very spacious. Overall, a down-to-earth diner that I'd visit again! read more

Loved this place. $5.50 for a grilled ham and cheese sandwich with a pile of fries. And the sandwich probably had 1/2 lb of ham on it. It's not fancy, but it's tasty and good value old school food. read more

I had to laugh that someone gave this place one star and let's see....how many reviews has he written? That's right, one. You can never trust a reviewer who signs up simply to whine about one restaurant. Anyway, less talk about worthless reviews and more about Red Fox Grill. I work on the next block over and this place is a favorite for fast (and cheap) take-out service (they also have seating if you're eating in). Red Fox is a straight up old school deli and you should expect nothing more or less. It's nothing fancy. They simply specialize in piling a bunch of whatever you want on some bread and serving it to you with chips or fries. If you're thinkin' healthy, this might not exactly be the best place to go but if you're thinkin' big ass yummy sandwich, cha-ching. So stay hungry, my friends. Only thing I'd warn people about is that it's a cash only joint (yeah, I know...). read more

First time ever experiencing the Red Fox Grill this afternoon (August 8th)!!! The place was jam packed and everyone seemed to be in great moods. Service was awesome and the server was very busy but she managed everything perfectly. Food came out at a reliable and fast time. Food was great too!! Not to expensive and the menu has a lot choices to look through! Anyone who enjoys quick, fast and enjoyable diner food, I highly recommend this place!! I definitely will be back read more

Cash is king at this typical diner. Going here is an quick and easy way to fill up for cheap as long as you have cash. Their food is typical diner food, simple sandwiches and burgers and chips, fries, and cole slaw are your options for sides. You won't find any kale or fancy food pairings here, but were you really expecting that in the first place? I got the burger and fries when I visited and it came with a burger that was greasy and covered in mayo. It was good, but I have no illusions that it was healthy in any way. It came with a mound of shoestring fries that I couldn't seem to get through even though they were perfectly crispy. No matter what you order here though, it'll be inexpensive and even with tip you'll probably pay less than $10 for your whole meal. Service was quick and your check comes with your plate so make sure to pull it out from under your fries before it becomes illegible from the oil. Be sure to keep an ear out for the various P&G conversations you'll likely hear as this is a go-to lunch spot due to it's proximity to the company's HQ. read more

Big portions, low price. I'm a fan. Three of us had lunch on a weekday and it was packed. This diner has no frills but is filled with nice service and great food. The Double-Decker Club Sandwich with Cheese was delicious and very filling. I appreciated that our server checked on us a lot, even though she was clearly very busy. I'd recommend Red Fox Grill to friends. read more

This place has the potential to represent classic Cincinnati but they have not gotten there. The food is clearly very cheap and a focus on ingredient quality is void. When asked if I wanted either Swiss or American cheese on my sandwich, I replied Swiss and got a processed tasteless white American cheese. Yuck. I hope they turn it around and achieve the great opportunity they have. read more

Red Fox is an old-school "grill"/diner specializing in burgers in fries - really great burgers and fries. I would recommend it to anyone who needs a quick and easy lunch downtown. Nice/friendly service, too. They do have other sandwiches like BLTs, turkey or ham - and they do NOT skimp on the meat. My turkey sandwich was HUGE - I had to disassemble to eat. Note that it is one of the last cash-only restaurants around! read more
