Classic Cincinnati staple. Absolutely love skyline, got the chili deluxe burrito that didn't disappoint.

Just tried this place on a work trip and it was really good. It came recommended by locals and it kept up with its reputation. It's open late which is also another great convenience. I had a coney bowl and the chili was really tasty. There a couple hotdog sausages in there and LOTS of cheese. In fact, I probably could of done with less cheese, but that is their signature. They have Shredded Cheese on almost everything. I also got their fries and they were pretty good too. This location has a a drive-thru for quick eats and the prices are incredible, really good bang for your buck. If you're in Cincinnati, maybe in the fall or winter time, you should definitely stop by for some chili.

When a friend and I were discussing our upcoming trip to Cincinnati, the subject of Cincinnati chili came up immediately. I had never had it before, but I knew something about it. I knew it was served over spaghetti, and I knew it was sauced a little differently with less tomato and more of a cinnamon accent. Well, guess where we went for lunch on Saturday? Yup, I made my first visit to Skyline Chili, the mother ship of Cincinnati Chili. They set up their first shop in 1949 and now are all over Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky and Florida. It's not chili in the way you may think of chili. It isn't real meaty, its more of a sauce and yes... its served over spaghetti. There's a lingo you need to understand to order your chili - so let me introduce the terms 3-Way, 4-Way and 5-Way. 3-Way simply means a heap of spaghetti covered with chili and fistfuls of shredded cheddar cheese. A 4-Way adds diced onions or beans to your plate. And a 5-Way gives you both diced onions and beans. When they bring these plates out to your table, its kind of comical because you get this overflowing plate of spaghetti and chili sauce, topped with a huge mound of bright orange shredded cheddar. It is absolutely awesome!! They are served with a package of oyster crackers to add some crunch to your plate. How was it? Man, oh man did I love it! What a great combination of flavor and textures. I loved it. I spiced up my plate with some of their Extreme Habanero Cheese and as a spice lover, I was very happy with it. Skyline Chili has an open kitchen so you can see dozens of plates whipped up in front of your eyes in a matter of minutes. If I lived in Ohio, I'm pretty sure Skyline would be in my regular rotation. Truthfully, I had a blast here !

Great location, staff was super friendly and restaurant was clean. We sat down just before the rush! Waitress came immediately dropped off crackers and silverware and took our drink order. Have been eating Skyline Chili for years. 3 ways are great and the cheese comets are the best!!

I am going to start with this...I feel like if you grew up in Cincy you are more likely to enjoy this odd chili restaurant thing, kind of like IMO's in St Louis. Saying that, the coneys were small and all I could taste was the tasteless cheese. We also had the 3-way spaghetti. The chili tasted burnt and was too runny/thin and again the cheese was tasteless. Maybe it was us?? But I don't think so.

Coney and a small 4-way hits the spot!

It's always nice to have friendly staff and reasonable prices... like all the gold stars are aligning. As far as the meal itself was concerned: their chili is different enough from its competitors to be unique but similar enough that to me, it makes it a tossup on where it falls on my Cincinnati chili rank list. Just like Skyline and GS -- it's pretty doggone good. I had my three-way in the park nearby (wow, let's not take that sentence out of context!). Considering there's no real inside seating area, but tons of parks nearby. It's great for a grab and go and late night eating.

Right off the bat, the staff was incredibly welcoming. The menu is straight forward and had a break down of what they offer. I had to try the coneys, but their double decker sandwiches also sound amazing (maybe for another day.) I decided on 3 coneys and an order of chili cheese tater tots and they absolutely did not disappoint. They offer a little bit of everything including a kids menu, and a tasty assortment of desserts as well. It's a perfect spot if you're looking for a quick meal while shopping downtown OR the most ideal food for a drunken night after car hopping in OTR.

We've been to the Blue Ash Senate a couple times and love it; this location does feel entirely different and I wouldn't compare the two at all. While we were looking at the menu, the guy behind the counter told us that their burgers were $5, Wed-Fri before 7PM. We decided to grab two burgers and two hot dogs, the Trailer Park and the FC Dawg. We sat at the bar, just getting a couple waters, and our food came out about fifteen or twenty minutes later. We started with our burgers, not expecting much from them. But they were actually really tasty. Even for a thin patty, they were well-cooked and a bit juicy. Thin onion slices and thick tomato--exactly my preference. And the burger sauce was tangy and a bit spicy. A really great burger for just $5. Then we split the hot dogs in half. the Trailer Park was topped with Coleslaw and Grippo's. The slaw was decent and the chips weren't out of place, but as a whole the dog was a bit underseasoned. The FC Dawg is their version of a Kony, with chili, cheese, and fritos. The toppings weren't bad, but similar to the first dog, it was a bit bland. We'd both skipped lunch and for $5, we couldn't resist grabbing a couple more burgers. The dogs were 3 stars, but the burgers for the price were 5 stars, and we'll definitely be back for them.

I don't think of Senate Restaurant when I think of getting poutine in Cincy anymore. It's kinda making me sad tho... fr.
