Chili Man Dip - without onion and beans!!

This is one of my favorite late night places. The staff is friendly. The food is so yummy. It's your typical laid back chili parlor atmosphere but make it late night!

We ended up here after some issues at camp Washington. The service was super fast and friendly. The chili dogs were just as good. The fries were fries. The interior is updated retro and super cute.

Okay.. first time chili experience here!! And let me say I had no real expectations because I've heard mixed reviews (not about Dixie, just in general), but I have been wanting to try it since I moved to the area a few years ago. Consensus on the 3-way: tasty and would eat again! :) I enjoyed the flavor of the chili - a little sweet, and you can't go wrong with a pile of shredded cheddar cheese. The noodles were OK, I can understand why it might be a weird pairing with chili, but it just reminded me of pasta sauce! The oyster crackers added nothing for me. We also got a side of fries which were pretty good. Service was fine, interior was classic diner, and overall it was a good experience!

We have a Airbnb up in Northern Kentucky and have ate all the Cincinnati chilies, this one is the best! Big menu cool atmosphere and a rich history. Go try it you won't be disappointed.

Another chili place was closed since it was Memorial Day, so we decided to come here. It's a bit different than other chili places I've been to, because you order, they give you a tray and you wait for your food (instead of them bringing the food to you). It only took a few minutes and I loved how you could customize your chili! I got jalapeños and chopped garlic on mine. As for the taste, it was good! Not the best chili I've ever had, but it was tasty and I would go back if I have the opportunity when in town.

Not your average chili place. My go-to is the Alligator which comes with dill spear, wiener, mustard, mayo, cheese on a coney bun, chili, and onions. Also, the double-corned beef sandwich is a culinary work of art. With soup salads, a dessert menu, and a kid's menu. It has something for everyone! You can even order their canned chili online...

    Sad plate of fried

Firstly no complaints about the food. It's always consistent and I think the best in the area. Disappointed in the service and value. I know stuff is expensive but the small plate of fries I got was pretty sad and didn't seem worth almost $4. I've noticed the serving size has gotten smaller recently but this was a bit egregious. Someone in our group ordered a 4 way with lettuce instead of pasta. The staff seemed a bit confused at the request but got it right. However, we were charged extra for the lettuce. I feel like if it would be reasonable if they added the lettuce to the 5 way but it was basically subbed in and we were still charged extra. It's a small amount but it felt like a we were nickel and dimed. I don't see how lettuce would be a higher cost than pasta. Lastly, while the service has never been super warm, the staff on duty this visit seemed like they would have rather been anywhere else. It seemed like we were bothering them when we went back up and asked for condiments. While I'll surely go back when I'm in the mood for a coney, I will reconsider going as frequently.

Visited Cincinnati and had to try the chili. Decided in Dixie chili since it was one of the chains recommended and the only one open when I had time to peruse. It's definitely a fast food joint. I got a kids meal because I wasn't sure how much I would like it. Unfortunately though, the kids meal only comes 3way (spaghetti, chili & cheese). But it was pretty yummy, and very affordable.

    Regular sized salad.

I ordered and paid for a regular salad and got what could only be considered a children's salad at best. Two pieces of ham, two pieces of turkey, 1/4 of a boiled egg and 4 pieces of cheese. Oh, and two tiny olives. Guess I'll order another lunch from somewhere else.

4-way with onions and the salad dressing for a Greek gyro salad. I got sooo busy eating the 4-way, I forgot to photograph the salad!

It was the first time I've had chili over spaghetti (I ordered a 4-way with onions) and it was delicious!! I was a tad skeptical at first, but now I am a huge fan. There were so many flavors present in the dish, the chili was much different than chili I regularly eat. Service was very fast! And the restaurant was cute and clean. My husband ordered the Greek gyro salad and he said his dishes delicious as well. We finished off with a tasty piece of carrot cake. If you haven't checked this place out, you need to!

Speaking of someone who has tried at least eight local Cincinnati chili restaurants, Dixie on Monmouth is my favorite. The food is always delicious, the ambience is great in this historic place. Staff is kind, and can we talk about the waffle fries?!!? You go through the queue and order your food where you were given a little flag, and a tray. You go down the line and collect your beverage and go sit down and they will bring you the rest of your order. You don't bus your own table, just munch and go!

I decided on 3 coneys and an order of chili cheese tater tots and they absolutely did not disappoint. They offer a little bit of everything including a kids menu, and a tasty assortment of desserts as well. What happened to Hofbrauhaus?…read more We decided to have dinner with our son and friend and selected Hofbrauhaus. In the past it's been a decent place to get decent food and decent prices. Emphasis on decent. We walked in the door and were promptly scolded for being there at 8:15. "The kitchen closes at 9pm, don't drag your feet" was gow we were greeted. Once seated our server took our orders, but seemed a little distracted. No problem. This isn't white table cloth dining. Alas, once we ordered, we waited, and waited, and waited. Then a soup came out. It was cold. Sent back, still not hot, but we were reminded many times that the kitchen was closing. When three of our four entrees arrived, they were each cold. Sent back, lectured again about the kitchen. Perhaps the kitchen should make sure food was correct before they shut down? When the four entree arrived, it was warm. Burnt, but warm. The balance showed back up, appearing microwaved. $100 before tip for poorly executed cold food and not a manager in sight. We eat out enough to know $#!% can happen. When it does, usually a manager will check back. No manager. Just wait staff desperate to leave and a kitchen crew that needs a lot of help/training/butt kicking. At least the music was decent, even if the lead singer had a DLR sized ego.

My wife and I were in the mood to try something new to us, so we popped in for a dinner date. The restaurant space is pretty large, especially for Mt. Adams. It's sort of an indoor/outdoor location, with a large covered patio and large garage doors that open the indoor space in all directions. Certainly a nice place to visit when the weather is good, but the food is just as good as the location, and therefore worthy of a visit no matter the season. My wife and I shared a pitcher of margaritas ($26.99 for the gold), and they were very tasty. Even though they were not prepared to order, it did seem that they had been prepared recently and had great fresh ingredients. My typical Mexican restaurant order is the chimichanga. Theirs is a large tortilla, filled with shredded chicken, beans, and cheese, deep-fried, and topped with lettuce, guacamole, tomato, and sour cream. This is served with rice and beans ($15.25). This was very good and the ingredients were fresh! My wife ordered the chile verde, a delicious plate of slow-cooked pork simmered in a savory green chile sauce. Again served with rice and beans, along with tortillas on the side ($18.50). Another really good dish, and one that is not very common in the Cincinnati area. Go give it a try!
