I ordered the Korean chicken and waffle and it was OK, I probably would not order it again. However, my husband ordered the blackened salmon over brussel sprouts and he could not stop raving about the dish. I have not heard him go on like that about a meal in a very long time. I think the food prices are decent, but I feel like the drink prices are a bit inflated. We will come back for another experience. read more

Great service for brunch! The restaurant has its own parking lot. The food was very good & also the waitstaff. But what I do complain about is the noise in the restaurant. Decided to try this spot over on the west side of Cincinnati. Great location and plenty of parking. We were seated right away. Took a while for the server to great us. They were all huddled by the ordering system. They had a nice menu selection. I was excited about the salmon with brussel sprouts. The brussel sprouts were really good. They were caramelized with onion and bacon. The grilled salmon was delicious too. It had a sweet chili glaze that I enjoyed. The fish and chips were epic. The fish was huge and the fried breading was delicious. It had a hint of malt vinegar to it. They gave us tons of fries. The restaurant could be loud at times. The noise primarily coming from staff chatting in the kitchen. That was a little distracting from our dining experience. We decided to get a scoop of ice-cream on our way out. There's an attached ice-cream parlor which is fun. I got a scoop of salted caramel. The scoop was huge and the ice cream was really good. Overall it was a nice experience. I'd try it again. Next time I'd get a boozy slush from the ice cream shop. read more

We also got a side mac and cheese. The fish and chips were good. The burger was good. The fries were very good. The mac and cheese was a huge disappointment. We had high hopes, but the mac and cheese was bland. It sounded fantastic, but it was not special. I recommend a pass on this. I've been for brunch and dinner now and honestly, after seeing the full dinner menu I'm excited to go back. A lot of variety, from several "different" establishments all in one location. We have been wanting to try W Bar Bistro for sometime now. I've read all the great reviews and looked over the menu many times. I did make a reservation for a Friday evening. When we arrived it seemed we didn't need the reservation. We were seated right away and met with our friendly waitress. Both of us ordered a glass of Pinot noir and a started off with the buffalo cauliflower bites. My wife ordered the salmon with a salad and I had the American Burger. All the food was delicious and served perfectly. This place is not easy on the wallet though. Two glasses of 9oz wine, burger, salmon, cauliflower bites and a Michelob Ultra = $100. Overall the W is a win based on location, service and food. I'm really starting to love this area of Westwood. More restaurants to come! read more

I came to the W Bar + Bistro several months ago. It's a great restaurant on the Westside of Cincinnati. There was plenty of parking in the back of the restaurant. The appropriate attire would be business casual. The decor is cute. There's a nice bar area with ample seating. I came with a group of 8 for dinner. The dinner selections were sufficient. Some people at the table ordered the Chicken Alfredo, the Fish and Chips, and someone ordered the Vegan Chicken Club with Fries. I didn't want to be annoying and take pictures of everybody's food. LOL But, everyone said that they enjoyed their food. I ordered the Short Rib Risotto which was flavourful and cooked to perfection. I got the house salad with Raspberry Vinaigrette. It was good. I skipped out on dessert, but I had a glass of house wine, which was pretty good. The servers were attentive and worked together to make sure that everyone had what they needed. With so many great restaurants to try in Cincinnati, I would have to say that this deserves a try if you find yourself on the Westside. read more

Dining room was cold and noisy. Dinner entrees and sandwiches are in the $15 to $25 range. Fish and chips entree: the moderate size portion of fish was tasty, although with a very heavy batter breading. It was served atop a ridiculously large pile of french fries which I had to remove from the plate in order to eat the fish. These were standard, cheap, food service fries which came out barely warm. Fish, fries and water including 20% tip came to $24. Food from Long John Silver's would be comparable at less than half the price. I'd say W has gone downhill in most respects since it opened. read more

Following a funeral for a friend, we were eager to gather for a toast to a life well-lived and W offered the perfect experience. Thursday is 1/2 price bottle night and the fried green tomato with burrata was a tasty starter with our Pinot noir: crispy crusted, slightly-tart tomato slices were well-matched with fresh burrata and easy to share among three of us. From there, I had Asian salad with vegan chiken added. The portion was fresh and ample enough that I left with lunch for the next day. My friends really enjoyed the salmon entree as well. There are two rooms, nicely decorated, and a menu with something for every preference. Two of us couldn't resist the adjacent ice cream shop with a variety of seasonal flavors and boozy milkshake options. While all of us live at least 30 minutes from the restaurant, we agreed it's worth another visit- soon. read more

I went for brunch after we made a reservation. When we arrived we entered by the bar area. No one greeted us even though there was a bartender working. I walked all around the restaurant to find someone to check in with and no one was there so we just ended up sitting at the bar. A few minutes after sitting down the bartender finally greeted us. We got food and drinks - both were subpar. My sandwich was ok but I could get the same thing elsewhere. My croutons on my side salad were totally charred. There was an obnoxious drunk guy sitting at the bar that would not stop talking to us and the bartender could have cared less. I also overheard some of the employees (where were they during our arrival??) complaining about working brunch service. I live locally and have been here three times now and wanted to support but I'm done giving them chances. We've had issues with service before. Three strikes you're out. I've been here twice now and both were good experiences. The ambiance and decor were unique and service was on point. The first time I ordered fried green tomatoes as an appetizer and it included a generous portion of fresh burrata cheese. The buffalo cauliflower was so good and had a celery slaw mixed with blue cheese crumbles for a nice mixture of flavors. The Second visit was for Sunday brunch. Everything we had was delicious, service was quick and very friendly. We had the buffalo cauliflower which was amazing, I usually don't like blue cheese, but it was so mild in the dish I actually enjoyed it more with the blue cheese. I got the Korean fried chicken sandwich, which may be the best fried chicken sandwich I've ever had. My wife got the blackened chicken with jalapeño bacon risotto, again which was phenomenal. Well, been going to W for quite a while. Went this week and while the food is still good they removed most of the great stuff: no risotto , curry pasta with chicken, beef short ribs. The substitution of the Palermo test menu has made this bistro more like a dinner. Disappointed, the uniqueness is gone. read more

My husband and I were there for dinner. We were seated in a room with two large groups. It was so loud we couldn't hear each other. We asked to be moved to a quieter location. We got moved to the room next door with openings between the two rooms. The sound level was somewhere between jet engine and air raid siren. For the love of god, put in some sound reduction. Not a relaxing dinner atmosphere. The food was average at best. We both had the chicken sandwich. Not horrible, just not worth being there when Nation is right next door with good food and a better atmosphere. On the upside, they fixed the parking issue, where you had to stand in the cold or rain to pay for parking. As long as you park in the spots marked W you don't have to pay. Also, our server was efficient and friendly. We will not be back. read more
