The food here is amazing!! We came here for a brunch/breakfast as a group of 4 where we were not disappointed and the wait was not long for a Saturday. The bacon was delicious and we were well fed with the portion sizes. The restaurant has some outdoor seating for the spring/summer/fall to allow for a little more room. The staff was helpful in providing recommendations and the menu has choices where you can't go wrong.

Heavy Duty "diner" vibe in this place, but the menu is anything but standard. Hannah took care of us & did a great job answering all of our questions. The Lobster Queso was our starter & was chock full of lobster meat. I had the "Fromlette" (1/2 omelet, 1/2 fritata) "Big Steve" Style.....Took a few bites to get my head wrapped around it, but wow!!! so much flavor. My wife had the short-rib grilled cheese & absolutely loved it. We'll definitely be back soon to explore the rest of the menu & maybe try some drinks/desserts.

Atmosphere was amazing, and so beautiful inside. Was in town for the weekend and saw some great reviews on here and decided to try it out. Found a seat at the bar and was impressed at this tiny little human next to me eating this delicious looking sandwich so I had to try one as well- the Tao Chicken Sandwich. Looks AMAZING, and believe me, it was- for those that like a little heat! Could only eat about 1/2 the sandwich because my tongue was on fire but it was delicious. Service- the hostess was so nice and friendly when I entered, the bartender/wait staff, not so much. Maybe she was just having an off night... Would recommend giving it a try!

Absolutely incredible diner. Loved every second I was there! Staff is super friendly and welcoming. Cute knick-knacks all over the restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious!! I had the creamy tomato soup and it has a nice heat to it from the Korean chili. Can never eat a regular creamy tomato soup again. I also had the patty melt. So much flavor in a sandwich. Already recommended to a lot of friends and will definitely be back when I'm in town!

Not my first or last review of the Governor! I aspire to try everything on this menu, it's so unique and delicious. The items on the menu aren't the most shareable but I highly recommend trying to split some with your table so you can taste everything. This visit included the rice bowl and the short rib grilled cheese (not pictured) which were both incredible. 10/10 would recommend again and again

Short rib grilled cheese with tomato bisque

We have been twice. My daughter and I both got the short rib grilled cheese with the tomato bisque. It's good. My husband has had the Ruben, a double cheeseburger, and patty melt. He says they're all good. My son liked his burger. My son in law had a burger and a dish that was a thick slice of bread, beef patty, marinara sauce and an egg on top with cheese. He said all of his food was good.

I had the privilege of dining here twice in a month. The first time, I had no idea that the restaurant had been featured on the show "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives". I found it to be quaint with great upscale food. Love the cozy atmosphere. The dining area is small, with tables close together, but you can grab one of the few booths for a bit more room and chat privacy. There are large windows near the front door that give a glimpse of passersby shopping along Main Street. The staff is very friendly. I had the seasonal lobster grilled cheese on my first visit, and it was phenomenal. This was a work lunch, so I stuck to my entree and an Iced Tea. The second visit was a pleasure lunch and I shared the Crab Rangoon Dip with large pieces of toasted buttered bread- very delicious (despite not having real crab) with my lunch companion. I went with another grilled cheese-themed sandwich, this time short rib, which was delicious. Both times, my sandwich was accompanied by a unique tomato soup with kimchee. It packed a nice flavor punch and was great to eat via spoon, but also as a dip for the thick cheesy bread. Next time I plan to try the deviled potato skins as they look fantatic!

Went for lunch. This was my first time. My wife has been here before but wanted to go and try lobster roll. $30 is a lot of money. It was a decent amount of lobster-like filler on top of giant slices of bread. I tried it and it was decent, but not great. I ate the Governor's fried chicken sandwich. It had a sauce on top on a brioche bun. It was very good. I wouldn't say Exceptional. It was a little dry (over-cooked). The Bowling Alley fries were very good. They had a pepper spice on them. Good service. Small location and bar was packed. Also has outside seating but too hot!

Finally after several years following the Governor on social media and the man the myth and the legend stopped to add the G to the family of Triple D we had to try it. The Pastrami burger was so amazing the flavor of the Pastrami married with the rest of the burger items. My co-pilot got the short rib grilled cheese this was so much better then I expected and I had HIGH expectations. This is a must try. The appetizer of the deviled eggs was not my thing but the co-pilot loved them. Sorry Governor I can only give 5 stars. ONE last comment the menu does change so check the menu on line. This was if you see something in a review to make sure the G still has what you saw. ENJOY!!

The food here is phenomenal - it is one of my partner's favorites in the city. It was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives! Whether you get breakfast or lunch, you won't go wrong. I loved my breakfast sandwich. We kept looking at the other food being brought to other people's tables and saying "oh that looks good too!" The flavors are so unique so you're really getting that elevated taste experience. The vibe is very casual (it's still a diner) but the attention from the wait staff you receive is way more personal. We loved it and will be back.

Always a great place to dine. Food and service is awesome. Fun atmosphere. Can't wait to go back.

Deviled Potato Skins

Super unique restaurant that was featured on DDD with Guy Fieri once I believe. The devilled potato skins were one of the most creative dishes I've ever tried and it was great. Also highly recommend the short rib grilled cheese!

We arrived around 6PM on a Monday and it wasn't busy at all. The inside was a little smaller than expected but it fit our group just fine. Our waiter came over shortly after and was always around when we needed him for something. The interior was super cute and I loved the wall of liquor bottles. There was even a small opening for us to see back into the kitchen. Our food came out quick and it was incredible. I only had the short rib grilled cheese but wow! I highly recommend that or the Governor sandwich if you go sometime soon. There's free parking out front or a short walk down the street. Happy eating!

I believe it is Friday and Saturday.

I had heard of this spot about a year ago and have not had a chance to go until this past weekend…read more I knew they had great cocktails but I didn't know much else about them. To say I was blown away was an understatement. The decor is super cool with flamingos everywhere, fun lights and colors that all bring that beachy and fun kinda Miami esc vibe. We shared a few different plates including the cuban (yum) so crispy and hot. The yucca fries were very fun and they had a great spicy mayo that was the best dip. The highlight of our experience was the grilled mac n cheese. We were a bit suspicious because how can you make mac n cheese Miami like or beachy. But we decided to try it. It was the best decision ever. It was cut into two thick pieces and grilled with. creme fraiche and some sort of green onion sauce on top. Literally wow, it was insanely good and so different but in the best way. Make sure to check out their house made hot sauce. It is the perfect bite of heat, not too spicy, and very flavorful but fresh. I definitely recommend with whatever you're ordering.

When I think of shareable I'm thinking of a big plate to share with your group. 2 empanadas are literally for 1 person for how small they are. I also tried their Cuban sandwich that was meh...I've had a lot better but I guess this is what you get in Milford. I was hoping for something close to Florida Cuban sandwiches but not even close. I ordered the fried chicken to-go along with yucca fries. 4 small pieces of chicken that were crunchy that was pretty good but yucca fries were chewy instead of crispy. I'm glad I came here to experience this because of how high the ratings were but if I'm being honest, the flavors didn't hit the spot for me. Great decor and great vibe! The service was pretty fast. Food was ok. Not sure if I'd be coming back.

This place is an experience! My bff lives in Florida and every time she comes in town she has to have dinner here at least once during her visit. The bite flight is a great starter. The salmon is amazing, gator bites, salads, sandwiches. Seriously, everything is absolutely delicious! And it's a BYOB place which is great. Seating inside and out. Service is always great. I can't recommend this hidden gem enough. You can thank me later!

I was with a friend that I hadn't seen in a while, and chose to sit outside. This is a perfect place to have a long lunch as they don't care if you stay and visit (we were there for over 2 hours). Our service was good and very friendly. We ordered the fish sandwich with mixed vegetables, and the chicken Caesar sandwich with fries. They were able to blacken my chicken instead of fried chicken, which I appreciated. I also wanted to have my side be onion rings, but they said they couldn't make a side of those, so I ordered the appetizer of onion rings. Holy smokes the serving was HUGE! They were also some of the best onion rings I have had. The sandwiches were cooked perfectly, and the side of broccoli, cauliflower, and asparagus was fantastic. We also ordered iced tea, and it comes in a very large Mason jar and was brewed fresh. Yum. I have read some reviews about dinner that were not as favorable, but for a leisurely lunch, this place cannot be beat and was worth our drive.
