The food is okay for the price. When ordering potatoes skins If you like bacon ask for extra because they will not give you a-lot. The bar tenders are not friendly at all. When things are missing and you ask someone for help they ask who your server is instead of helping each other out and taking care of the customer. They told one of my friends to be appreciative when they came to take her order after taking a long time. The carrot cake is my absolute favorite from there. The cashier was helpful with questions we had about the menu. It took about 25 mins for our carry out to be ready. But it's so worth the wait. I used to go to Hooligans back in the 90's but hadn't heard a thing about it lately. I was kind of surprised to learn it was still open, so we decided to give it a try. On a rainy Friday there was nothing going on outside, but probably 60% of the tables inside were full, the bar was thumping and people were having a good time for sure. Our server was covering a lot of tables so the service wasn't fast, but she was trying to cover everyone so we just relaxed, had a beer and ordered some food. This place is a bar. It was loud, people were drinking and having fun. Don't go here for a quiet evening or expecting more than a neighborhood place that serves drinks and food. Big menu to choose from, we split an order of the stuffed banana peppers, some wings and a Philly cheesesteak. The banana peppers are like a huge fried cheese stick with banana pepper heat. Delicious! The wings were very good. They have the option of breaded or naked and we tried 5 of each. I like both. The breading on the breaded version was not too heavy. Just enough to add a little extra crunch. The hot and spicy garlic sauces were both good. The cheesesteak will not convince anyone to move here from Philly, but it was a very tasty sandwich. Since I've lived here! This place has been my go to for dive bar food ... and entertainment especially during football season.

Our server was Kiley and she was amazing ! We got the wings as an appetizer and they were crispy and delicious! For our entree we got the ribs (Kiley's recommendation) and for dessert we got the carrot cake, which were both made to perfection. I highly recommend checking this place out with the family, as there is even a bar, and a sand volleyball court !!! read more

I went there for lunch today. Actually, this was my second time at Hooligan's. The first time about two years ago, a group of us came in for lunch, but we all had a taste for breakfast. And they did not disappoint. The food and service was great...back then. However, this time (probably my last time) the food was good but the service was extremely lacking! After my food was served, no one came to the table to offer anything until approximately 20 minutes after being served! Keep in mind, there was only two other people in the entire eating area and two at the bar. The lady bartender, though courteous; spent all her time conversing with a couple at the bar...that's it. The gentleman who originally brought my food out, ended up talking to a women for 25 plus minutes, while by this time I'm in wait - "standing up" to get someone's attention in order to pay for my lunch and hurry back to work. Get this, I had to walk over to the bar and ask for my bill so I could return to work....completely ridiculous! This may explain why the place only had five patrons (me included). It's really a shame that an establishment can have reasonably good tasting food, but the service staff ruins it. Not sure if its under new ownership or not, but I can always sense when "absentee" owners of a restaurant establishment rarely (if ever) drop in their establishments, because those restaurants are ran just like this one!! The owner presents no element of surprise. And unfortunately, that's usually a precursor that the restaurant is going to ultimately go out of business, essentially because of lackluster service from his/her employees. read more

I had previously left a good review like a year or two ago now I'm only coming here about once a month when I stop in town. Recently I've noticed all these offputting signs taped up all around the bar. It looks so trashy. They need to be on bar rescue so badly. I stopped coming here last year because every single time I ordered my food at night they did it wrong. Like I would order Reuben and it would be a patty of sauerkraut and two slices of meat. The sauce will be on the side. You had to literally take your sandwich apart and put it together on your plate. I got tired of sending my food back so I just stopped coming. Managers would always tell me to tell somebody else never got fixed. Also, they offer no service on the patio. You can order inside and have it brought out to you, but they won't check on you and you have to pay your bill before you get your food. I've noticed that they charge people different prices pretty often. Not just the drink, which would be at least a couple dollars different depending on the bartender. But this table near me pay like seven dollars for a side of fries. I've never paid that much for a side of fries here. The pricing is inconsistent. Service is lackluster, but friendly. Half the time the drinks are not that good also depends on the bartender. They've literally have the same broken heater on their patio for years now. Like at least 3 years and I've never seen it on or working. broken metal chairs have put holes in my clothes. I come here because it's connected to the hotel I stay at and the patio is the ONLY area to sit outside and smoke. I would not have continued giving this bar business if it was not connected to the hotel and I didn't have an area to smoke. read more

This place has NO business being THIS good at MIDNIGHT! I'm in Covington for business and got to my hotel pretty late. The concierge handed me a Hooligans menu and I decided to risk it with a steak. They delivered to my hotel in amazing speed, and I think it was one of the best steaks I've ever had in my life. Medium-well, succulent, perfect lean-to-fat ratio... it was like butter. The salad had a small pile of cheese on it, but apparently that's a Cincinnati thing so I didn't mind all too much. Best hotel steak I've ever had. read more

I hate that their rating is so low because I've only ever had great experiences here! If you order food on a Friday or Saturday night, it can sometimes take 30 minutes or so to be served, but when you get it, it's always piping hot and delicious. It gets pretty crowded on the weekends, but we've only ever been in the bar - I can't speak for the dining room. We've had potato skins, chicken bacon ranch pizza, alfredo pizza, wings, fish tacos, chicken quesadillas, nachos, sweet potato fries, loaded baked potatoes, fish and chips dinner, fried cheese, banana peppers, etc etc etc. To be honest, the pizza wasn't great - the toppings were yum, but the crust is blah. Our favorites are the breaded wings and the fish tacos, hands down. Before the apocalypse began, we were there 2-3 times a week for months. There are tons of regulars and we've had the opportunity to meet and chill with some pretty cool people. Everybody is always buying shots for everybody else - it's a fun atmosphere! You can control the music at the machine or by downloading the touchtunes app on your phone. The pool table is only $1 per game. They always have sportsball on, but if there's a particular game or match or whatevs you wanna see, they'll turn the channel, they'll turn the volume up, etc. The bartenders are always nice & the long islands are strongggg. We appreciate them even more now during COVID-19 because they are the ONLY restaurant open past 9pm. They're still open until 2am, they deliver food and drinks, and their delivery radius is huge. We've ordered food to go numerous times over the last month or so, drive 25 minutes home, and the order is always perfect, food is always delicious. read more

On vacation, looking for Liverpool's Champion League game, and they searched and searched for it on their DirectTV. Finally found it, and I had such a great time. Casey our server was outstanding, Deejae found the game on DirectTV for me, so I got committed. Mandy was committed to me getting to watch the game. Nobody does that for someone who just walks into a pub. The food is outstanding, the ribs were epic, and the salad with cheese, gotta have it. The service was top notch. Tonight I was craving their delicious wings so I called and decided it was worth them being rude. To my pleasant surprise I spoke with a woman named ROBIN who was seriously one of the most delightful people I've spoken with ever. She put chik fila workers to shame which is hard to do! Hello coming back to hooligans after about six months came for the wings and they're awesome fried pickles totally disappointed in the quantity that you get for the price . I requested a manager to come over because I ordered a basket of pickles $8 and the basket was half full the manager explained to me that they count out actually 20 pickles it appears to me that they counted out the smallest of the pickles chips possible. In addition the Manager was not friendly didn't offer anything and honestly the wings are not what they used to be I will not be coming back to hooligans again. read more

When I lived on that side of town, it was a GREAT hangout spot. Nothing fancy- but when hanging around at the neighborhood bar, who's looking for "fancy" anything? Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights were always busy. I always made it a point to get there before the rush (before 9) if I wanted good service, and a bartop seat. I often ordered chicken wings (always fried perfectly), maybe a salad (their ranch dressing is delicious!!!), or a regular burger. As for drinks, I'd recommend a GRAPE APE, or slow gin fizz. Both topshelf! Both will get you right where you're likely trying to be with just one drink. Totally worth whatever they're charging for it! Oh...they also have a volleyball sandlot outside.
