This is a great place to bring a big group to play games, drink delicious drinks (Java Jenga is a must try!) and eat! The pretzels are soft and hot and served with yummy cheese. The chips and guac are homemade! Super fun atmosphere and I can't wait to come back!

Fun for the whole family. Call ahead to reserve a game table if you plan to come on a Friday or Saturday night since the tables fill up quickly. I love the chill atmosphere and that there is a Game Librarian on staff who can recommend games you might like.

This place is so much fun!!! A ton of games to pick from, drinks we delish, and the pretzels and cheese were good. Can't wait to come back

Ample parking and urs free between college hill + north college hill . The food came out hot and the staff were friendly . My favorite were the crab Ragoon. I didn't l Iove the guacamole. You can review plenty of games they have, it is family, friendly. I do have one complaint, the cook shouldn't be touching their phones and touching my food. I just think it's unsanitary. And it's no doors that blocks the kitchen so you can see straight in from the bar. I will revisit. It's a fun place.

    Burgers during Burger Week

I'm torn on the rating here between 4 and 5 stars. I'm giving a benefit of the doubt because I did hear a server mention to someone else that they were slammed because of burger week. This spot on the corner of North Bend and Hamilton was a real surprise. Not knowing what to expect at all, we decided to check it out after a couple beers down the street at award winning Brink Brewing since they had a couple featured burgers on Burger Week. The emphasis here is on the games, which is a great concept. Plenty of tables were full of folks enjoying their games with their friends. Groups were coming and going, and all seemed to be having a good time. We really loved the "B5" burger - a burger week special featuring bacon, beer cheese, brisket and BBQ. When talking with our server, she mentioned they didn't normally have a brisket burger, but were considering keeping it after burger week. My 5 star hesitancy was a pretty long gap after our food was delivered before our server came back to check on us. Our drinks were empty for some time. This might be a function of how most folks enjoy this spot, with an emphasis on games, not food and drink. If it weren't for burger week, this would have been a 4 star because of the service. I hope this place does well. It's a nice addition to this section of College Hill that features some classic spots and some up-and-coming new places.

This is a cool little place that is based on board games. With draft beer and burgers. What we had was the burger for burger week. Was above average burger just like the staff they were so friendly and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy the visit. Go enjoy a game, a beer and some great food.

What a fun place! We were greeted by Alice - the board game librarian- who helped us select a game and taught us how to play. You can request her help or do your own thing. We came on a Saturday for brunch and while the menu is limited / small... it was delicious! I loved the southwest omelet. The sauce on top was to die for. I'd suggest dipping the home fries in the sauce. We will definitely be back to try more games and food. Very chill, friendly, and welcoming vibe.

I am so glad to have this tavern style spot to sit and chill at with friends!! Drinks, food, and most importantly - games!! I learned to play Root with some others I was randomly sat with for community game night and it was a blast!! I got my Pass Go take home commemorative cup and drink, the brisket flatbread was supposed to be a shareable however it was the perfect snack meal for me. The service was great as the staff allowed me to customize my drink and made game recommendations to the table. It can get a little loud when there's a larger gathering of gamers but that's to be expected - if you get overstimulated then go when there's less people! Otherwise 10 out of 10 I will come back here often and learn to play all the games.

We popped in for the soft opening, and this is shaping up to be a terrific addition to College Hill. The deets: Bar, Board Games, and Bites. For the soft opening, Bar wasn't available yet, but I could see that they are set up and ready for the full event when it arrives. The board games are plentiful and the customer service is top notch. As a party of two, they have an entire section dedicated to 2 player games. Whether you are a casual gamer, stragetist, deep diver, or come in full LARP gear, they have games to scratch your inch. The food was simple but tasty-a grilled chicken sandwich with absolutely fabulously cooked fries and mac n cheese. There is a 12.00 per person minimum to stay and play, which is more than generous and will be wicked easy to hit once the bar opens. We opted for a game called Lacuna-beautiful asy explanation and very relaxed play. Everyone was super friendly and knowledgeable, and this was before they even officially open. I'm looking forward to a return trip once they are in full swing. Things I'll be curious to see: right now, the silverware situation is plastic. That may have been for just the soft opening, but I hope they move to more sustainable cutlery. There is a stoop step at the entrance, which is noticeable when you enter, but not when you leave, as it is the same color as the sidewalk, so watch your step. Maybe painting it to look like a monopoly space or even get a mat to show that there is a step down there. I'm curious to see how the games hold up to repetitive use and wear and tear, but I will definitely be around to find out! Best of luck and we'll see you again soon.

This place is awesome. Love the vibe, great game selection, super friendly staff. Really solid and has lots of great options for everybody. The food is really good. Like, way better than it needs to be for what it is. I've tried a lot of appetizers and one entree and everything was fantastic.

I came out in December for their Miracle pop-up in 2025…read more As someone who has gone to a ton of holiday cocktail bars and pop-ups over the last 10 years, Overlook Lodge's is probably the best I've ever been to. Be aware it will be FAST. Look at the order ahead of time if you're a picky eater/drinker. They run your appointment like clockwork, and you'll be in-and-out, gulping down cocktails, through the entire experience. Your two drinks are included (this year, anyway), and I'd honestly be surprised if you managed to have time for a third. Time zips by fast. That being said, because they do it this way, you essentially have constant service, there's "events" that happen at the end of your reservation time, (I don't want to spoil it, but cover your drink!), and then they kick you out. Service was friendly, though, and I saw the server make time to take group photos for all of the tables (including ours) with someone at the table's camera. (No bullshit "group photo" upsells here) It's kinda loud, though, and I wouldn't recommend this as a chill meet-up-and-socialize spot. (If you wanna talk, they have an addendum, Christmas-themed laid-back bar next door.) It's more of a "get blasted in the face by Christmas for an hour and then leave" experience. It's pretty loud, and talking can be a bit difficult over the music and constant interruptions (more drinks? Photos? Cute Christmas video montage?) But this works in its favor as it feels the most Christmas, over-the-top, and seasonal out of all the holiday bars I've ever been to. It also keeps it from feeling too crowded as reservations are required, so you for-sure have a seat and you don't have to stand forever in line to wait for drinks. I'd probably guesstimate that bar staff is making all of their seasonal drinks, constantly, and servers just pick one up to deliver. With the capacity in here, it would make sense. No idea what the bar is like the rest of the year; this is just a review for the Miracle pop-up which, again, is probably the best I've been to in the Midwest. Cincinnati, you're spoiled down here. (Sidenote, I was absolutely taken aback by their TV presentation on the wall. It's hard to describe, but it isn't just a projector showing a giant rectangle. It's specifically slotted into the holes in-between holiday decorations. Staff told me that had to hire special technicians to get it to show up that way and that's seriously a level of detail I am so amazed by.)

We stopped by recently for some takeout and were helped quickly at the bar. Our food came out in less than 10 minutes and the bartender was helpful and friendly while we waited. The patio was packed with people enjoying the nice weather! The parking lot in back is also a perk. We split the smash bros chickpea wrap, which was above average for a wrap but didn't make a huge impression. The menu said roasted tomatoes but the tomatoes to me seemed like just sliced Roma tomatoes. It held up and was great to go! I will note it does not come with a side and thus feels pretty expensive for the amount of food it is. The real hit was the pretzel nuggets. These have been on the menu for a while and stand the test of time. The garlic caramel is standout and the beer cheese is also delicious. We both commented we wanted to eat the extra sauce on its own at the end because it was so delicious. Tela is great to dine in or to go.
