The vibes are great, and there are plenty of TV's There are several different seating areas, some that are covered, and some inside old box cars. In addition to the large outdoor area, there is a connected indoor area in an old firehouse. This area can also be rented out for private events. We were in town for the Savannah Bananas, and a friend recommended Covington Yard. It was a great place to hangout and grab a bite before the game. They had a lot of TVs, corn hole boards, indoor/outdoor tables, etc. When we were there, the food truck was Mad Anthony's pizza. We ordered focaccia bread, orzo salad, a caprese sandwich, and chips. We split everything, but the portions were so big, we had leftovers. The service for drinks was very fast but the food took a while. (They had one person running the register and preparing the food.) I love looking at all the videos and stories Covington Yard posts on Instagram. There is so much great energy and everyone is having a good time. Not to mention that it's themed Cincinnati Bengals! So much yes! We went for lunch at El Jefe Cubanos so we got the best of both worlds! You walk in and it definitely looks like someone's backyard. There's plenty of seating and large screen televisions everywhere. There are no bad seats in the house. There are bars inside and out. Since it was chilly, we sat inside. There are three food vendors that are also on the yard. Their bar has so much great selections to choose from. Specialty drinks, craft beers on tap, and wine. We ordered: -Classic Cuban (8") -3 Tacos Caribbean style w/ chicken -Large order of tots -Revel Red wine -Rhinegeist Truth -Yard Lager (made by Tivoli) We really enjoyed both the drinks and food! Cute outdoor spot in Cincinnati. There are a few different types of food and a full bar. From what I can see they sometimes have live music playing during the day or evenings plus there are games scattered throughout the area. For food we tried the pizza place and also the empanada truck. Both spots were great and the service was pretty quick. I had a slice of veggie pizza and the one slice was plenty. They're are nice sized but if you need a little more pair it with a tasty empanada. There were plenty of tables available to find seating plus a few spots inside too. They do allow you bring your pets inside provided you keep them leashed. If you're in the area check the place out as there is plenty to do plus all different types of food. read more

This is a great gatherall place for food, drinks, and more. We came here for El Jefe's but found more to enjoy. It's very open and accommodating for everyone and dog friendly too. The food options are in big shipping containers out front and there's nice options to choose from including pizza, Cuban sandwiches, empanadas, and more. There's also a full bar with plenty of libations. I can imagine this place rockin' during Bengals games. We'd absolutely come back here again especially if El Jefe's is still here. read more

I have heard good things from most people and would be willing to try the yard one more time, but we stopped by yesterday after the bengals game and did not have a great experience. My friend and I went to the bar and I ordered a Diet Coke, I watched the bar tender look at my virtually clear Diet Coke and decide it was fine to serve, regardless of it pretty much just being soda water. I decided to just go along with it because it's not the end of the world and I said "thank you" and was met with a rude "HUH?" I just said thanks and paid my tab. I wouldn't have been disappointed had the bartender just informed me they were out of Diet Coke and could get me something else rather than serving me a drink that wasn't good and still charging me $4. I understand she was busy and likely didn't have the time to change the syrup right then, which would've been alright had she offered to get me something else. My friend ordered a drink with casamigos and was very rudely told they didn't have that. She asked what they had and the same bartender that helped me, had a difficult time recommending something similar. The outside yard area was very loud and overly crowded. Went today for St. Patty's day - vibes were awesome. They make an incredible Tito's mule. Loved that they had water stations. Outdoor area was really cool. Sliders were some of the best I've had. What a fun vibe! We went there New Years Eve, pretty early in the day so it was empty besides us, but absolutely loved the atmosphere. They have plenty of green space (which is dog-friendly as long as fido doesn't potty), food vendors, various seating spaces, large televisions, curling, other games, photo opportunities, and more. If being outdoor isn't your vibe, they have a covered heated section (where the walls can come down in the summer) as well as in actual in-door bar where we got some delicious gingerbread old fashioneds. From what I saw, Covington Yard is a fun filled spot. We went right when they opened but it has all the makings for a great night. Lots of drink options (heard the bourbon slush is amazing), a huge outdoor area, lots of games, and food. If someone was visiting Cincinnati for the first time, I would take them here. I am giving one star only because of the bouncer from Sat March 14th. Small white guy with a gray beanie. We had an older party of people who are mainly over 40 brought two teenagers. The service was great, the atmosphere was great, pizza - everyone loved it. Then the last piece of our party arrived, the bouncer at the door roughly grabbed my 16 year old granddaughter by the shoulders because she was just following her mom and had never been to a place like this before, her mom was like please do not lay hands on my daughter he got so aggressive and pretty much pushed them. Ok my daughters like I am not going to let him ruin our time with our family. Then my nephew who is 47, did have a can a beer with him and same bouncer asked him to empty it which he did and was joking around but the bouncer was already in a mood, my nephew held out his hand and the bouncer grabbed it flipped it over aggressively and said wrong way...again...whatever, but then this guy follows my nephew to our table and starts yelling "get him out!" along with the other bouncer crew, this guy was screaming my nephew said he was going to "throw hands" and accused my nephew of trying to cause a fight and threatened him, the bouncer. This bouncer causes a huge scene and kicks my nephew out in front of everyone, and the entire time my nephew has his hands up in the air yelling back, "I am not trying to fight anyone, I just dont want you laying hands on my 16 year old niece nor me." The bouncer went crazy, I mean crazy. My nephew left and insisted we stay and finish our pizza but the kids are crying and it was not good. We spent over $700 at this place only to have it ruined by a little man who thinks he can grab and be aggressive at the door. We will never go back! BTW on my way out one of the other bouncers apologized for the other bouncers behavior, and said he cannot be controlled. Also, my nephew is an attorney he knows not to cause these kinds of problems because it could affect his career and I have never heard him say "throw hands". I do not want to make this a race thing because this bouncer went after my nephew too, but out of all the teenagers walking in with my daughter he only grabbed my granddaughter who is black...hmmm read more

I loved this place! There's a large outdoor space attached to the inside bar area surrounded by food trucks. Not just any food trucks. These trucks had excellent choices that were very tasty. Covington Yard is a fabulous venue! It is a gray place to gang out and enjoy beautiful summer evenings, good music, and good food. It is a very causal dog friendly outdoor "yard" complete with astroturf. There is lots of seating (although we have seen it full) including picnic tables, patio chairs, and a few table tops in the bar area. Speaking of the bar, you can choose your drink of choice from the full service bar or grab soft drinks from the food vendors. Speaking of the food vendors, you can make your dinner choice from one of three-four vendors with choices including chicken, tacos, and Korean BBQ (vendors and menus can be found at www.covingtonyard.com). Love the atmosphere of this place. Came on a Friday night and waited about 10ish minutes in line outside. They are sanitizing the tables after each guest/party. While you have to wait to be seated and are lead to your table, you are allowed to get up and go stand in line to order food or in line at the bar. My friend and I just got drinks, the Roebling Mule and Pointe-Sicle (each $11). The mule was SO good, but the Point-Sicle made with whipped vodka, blood orange juice, and orange soda was way too sweet. It was hard to finish. Some things I think they could improve on to make it even better: since we are getting into fall and the nights are becoming chilly, fire pits or heat lamps would be a really nice touch. The DJs on Friday night were great, but the music was SO so loud. I was screaming just to talk to my friend seated next to me. The three restaurants need to stay open later. We got there about 8:30pm and only Django Taco was still open, and even they closed at 9pm. I did see a separate party carry in their own food, which might have to be move if the restaurants are going to close early. Overall, I'm excited to have this place in the Cov and see how it grows! Came here to support Talons opening at Covington Yard and had heard good things about the place, so was excited to see it for myself. The place is absolutely gorgeous on a breezy, summer day. Lots of places to sit, and many food options to pick from. Obviously, I was there to try out Talons, but will certainly have to come back to try out the other food venues there. Talons has waffles and chicken, salads, and desserts. I got myself their wings with Buffalo and Truffle Hot Honey sauce, plus their cinnamon sugar and chive and cheese waffles. The food was pretty great, but the item that knocked it out of the park for me was their truffle hot honey sauce! That sauce is everything!! Do yourselves a favor and visit just to get the sauce. If they bottled it up, I'd be buying it! The Yard itself is great, with open seating under the sun and seating with shade too. The drinks indoors looked good, but they recommended me the booze slushies and with the weather, the frosé really hit the spot. I also got a mock tail for my friend, and the staff was more than excited to make it, and added bonus it was delicious! Covington Yard is a great place to hang out with a group. They currently have three different food options-tacos/burritos, chicken tenders, and sliders. We got some burritos and chips and guac, as well as the "dumpster fries". I wasn't impressed with my burrito, but it was fine. This is a great place to come when the weather is warm because there are plenty of outdoor seating options. When I have visited on a weeknight it is not quite as busy and you're able to more enjoy some of the outdoor games that they have available. They also have food trucks with different kinds of food (Hangry Omar's is pictured) to delight your tummy. The Yard serves great cocktails that are of decent size which is hard to come by nowadays. They have plenty of seating to accommodate groups and they allow furry friends. Tips to make your visit a success: 1) Enjoy the outdoors. This place is primarily outdoors so if it's hot or cold outside it will be the same at Covington Yard, same goes for rain. Plan your visit accordingly. 2) Get creative with parking. Parking is scarce down in that area. There are lots but usually those stables are full. But a few streets over in any direction there is often available parking. So get creative before throwing in the night because the lot is full or there's no spaces that look open. Come one, come all to Covington Yard for fun of all sorts!! read more

The nachos were bland and tasteless. Presentation was good. But it is way overpriced for that amount and for the lack of flavor. You're better off making your own nachos at home using Kroger or any grocery store brand taco seasoning. "Nacho Average Taco Cart" should be renamed as "Below Average Taco Cart" to fit right in. read more

I wanted to take a night with some great jacket weather to snag a nightcap at Covington Yard. On a weekday night, it was super easy to find a seat out in the Yard. I loved the food options available, but this time, we were just here for drinks. We popped back to the bar and ordered a couple slushee (boozy drinks). I went with the bourbon sangria slush. Each slush was $10, which seemed a little high, but the glass was a decent size at least. The drink was tasty and adequately boozy. We sat in the yard, people watched, and stared at the lights. It's a really unique venue, which made it easy to forget that you're still in Covington.
