They are generous on the meat filling and there are a variety of toppings to choose from- cilantro, onion, salsa, cheese, lettuce, guacamole (extra cost). The tacos are wrapped in 2 corn tortillas. You could see the tortillas being made in house. Everything tasted very fresh and the meats were tender. It wasn't busy and my order came out within minutes. We came here based solely on Yelp reviews. It sounded like it would be great...we must have caught them at a bad time. We got a variety of tacos (platters) and the tamale platter (one of each). The tamales were good, as well as the verde salsa. That is where the good stops. The carnitas, carne asada, and Al pastor were all dry dry dry! We had to smother them in the verde salsa to make them the least bit palatable. The beans on the platter looked and tasted like they were cooked way too long. The guac was turning brown and the chips were kept in the fryer a bit too long as well. Maybe we caught them on a bad day, but 5:00 on a Saturday doesn't seem like a time that everything would be overcooked. So we tried Tortilleria Garcia based on its decent reviews. My wife was craving a taco salad. While standing in line viewing the menu and waiting to order, we noticed there is no salad on the menu. No biggie right ? We can just asked them to make one with taco lettuce etc. So I order two taco salads, one chicken one steak in a bowl and told them how we wanted it. What eventually came out was a bowl of steak and chicken with cheese on-top. Order was totally wrong, ugh... I wasn't too annoyed as it was still good, however my wife was disappointed. The problem was a language barrier I believe. I didn't bother waiting in line and asking for them to redo it. Food was good, but if your into more healthy options and trying to stay low carb, maybe pass this place along.. no salads! read more

Best tortillas anywhere! This little place is cute, clean, and is serving up amazing Mexican food. From tacos to tamales, you can't make a poor choice. The asada and chorizo tacos, are amazing and perfect for trying all the salsas at the bar. The only downside is that they do not serve alcohol of any kind. We have been going to Tortilleria Garcia for a while and love it. However, I realized I had not put up a Yelp review yet, so here it is. This is a wonderful smaller place for tacos, tamales, burritos and chicken. They have limited seating inside. Everything is made fresh. I usually like flour tortillas, however they make there own corn tortillas fresh every day. We are talking grinding the corn themselves. I am now a big fan of the corn tortilla. Prices are very reasonable and the people who worked there are great. Last night, for the Super Bowl, we decide to get some takeout. We got a pound of the al pastor. It comes with a big stack of the fresh tortillas for making your own tacos. They also give you a container of all the taco topings and salsa, up to and cluding lime slices, all that for ~$13. It was wonderful If you like tacos you must give this place a try. I have also had there chicken and tamales, both are good. Tortilleria Garcia a solid choice for Mexican food, in the Cincinnati area. Tortillas are made in house. If you have ever considered making tortillas at home, masa may be purchase by the pound. While they may be known for their tacos, I decided on the carnie (steak) burrito, without rice. The meat itself was cooked well. There was a slight char on the outside. Inside, the meat was cooked to medium. I enjoyed the contrast in temperature from the cool and hot ingredients. The tortilla itself had an enjoyable chewiness to it. It also did a good job of holding in all the filling. Even without the salsa, there was a lot of flavor. Three house made salsas are available. I tried the hot and tomatillo. Both salsas were loaded with flavor. The tomatillo salsa was bright, fresh, and surprisingly spicy. Many tomatillo salsas are on the mild side. I enjoyed that this one had more of a kick to it. Some hot salsas are very one note, hot. Not this salsa. This salsa also had a fire roasted component. A mild salsa is also available. All three salsas are housed in a small refrigerator, in the dining area. I concluded my meal with a slice of tres leches. Tres leches cake is also made in house. It may be found in the cooler next to the register. This cooler also houses the bottled drinks. (Not bottled drinks are filled in the dining area.) They did a good job of making the lower half of the cake moist without being soggy. There was a bit of milk in the bottom of the container. This allowed me to dip the top of the cake as well. The canned peaches on top added a nice fruity flavor. For the size of slice, it was a better deal than the average for a slice of cake. If it is your first time dining there, it should be noted that your order with be called at the opening to the right of the cashier. Since I was not asked my name, or given a number, I did find this part a little confusing. I followed the people ahead of me to the dining area. I kind of followed their lead. I got a drink, got some salsa, then waited. They were steady around noon. By 12:30 pm they were busy! read more

We got a tamale combo platter & a half roasted chicken. Very delicious & authentic food! The only disappointment was no cotija cheese on the refríed beans, but a small disappointment. The beans were well-seasoned, the rice was on point & the pico de gallo was fresh & flavorful. If we lived here, we'd be here twice a week. Great find, great food & reasonable prices. I had been wanting to try Tortilleria Garcia for awhile now because I had seen someone in the Cincy area on Instagram say they were good. I'm glad I finally did, the food was very authentic and flavorful. They also give you a good amount of food for a good price. My husband, daughter, and I ate all for $20.63 (including drinks). That is very good for three people. They have specialty drinks that are pretty tasty. What I like is, you can pay for a drink and get any flavor drink or fountain drink you want, free refills. I love horchata so it was nice to get a flavored drink with my meal and then dump my cup (what I didn't drink) and get a horchata to go. Anywhere else I go you would have to purchase two drinks. They are reasonable priced. I ordered the chicken taco platter (2 tacos) and you pick the condiments you want on your tacos. It comes with refried beans and Mexican rice. The meal was pretty good. My only complaint was that the taco was a little dry. I had to add a good amount of salsa. Other than this the platter was good and filling. My husband ordered a chicken burrito. He enjoyed his burrito and said that the food was authentic Mexican. We ordered our daughter a kid's meal quesadilla. It came with rice and beans. It was a good portion for a kid. Excellent little taco joint selling very authentic and well-flavored cuisine. Came in for a quick lunch and went with one pastor and one barbacoa. Both tacos were large and doubled up for convenience. They were accompanied by a double serving of refried since I didn't want rice. The meat was very tender and flavorful, both tacos were dressed with the condiments of my choosing since they ask you upon ordering what you prefer, which I think is a nice touch. I chose chicken and beef for our tacos, with lettuce, tomato, and cheese on the side for toppings. The fiesta pack also came with beans and rice. The tortillas were AMAZING! In. Love. With. This. Place. It has become a weekly staple! Where do I begin? The staff is awesome and efficient. Great service. The food, amazing. Everything is fresh, authentic, and homemade. I can't pick a straight favorite so I rotate my selections. It is small to eat at, so I usually do take out. Such a sneaky star hidden in a nearly deserted strip mall right off I-275! The waters are a must have with your meal. My favorites are the hibiscus tea and pineapple. They are sweet and flavorful. Very refreshing. Nice compliment to the food. Make sure to grab a Tres Leches cake, it is a great desert, and I don't normally like cake! For the main course I recommend the Carnitas Nachos with everything on them. OR the Carnitas Tamale platter with rice and beans (order early or call ahead as they do run out of these corn wrapped beauties).
