My husband and I were on the opposite side of town to pick up his car and I thought why not try some place brand new? We happened upon El Barco and it was definitely worth the stop. Upon arrival we were greeted by a friendly host and as soon as we were seated we were given chips, salsa, and a really good cheese dip. The interior was very clean and organized as well with a fun nautical theme. The menu is a little different than the usual Mexican spot, but it was fun because of that! We both ended up getting the California burrito, which was delicious! It had three different sauces on it, which was nice because there were so many flavors that it almost felt like more than one dish. It was super big and we honestly probably could have just shared one, but I love having leftovers so it was okay by me! I also had their margarita, which was HUGE and super good. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and everyone was wearing their masks and social distancing, which was nice to see as it seems like that is getting lax at some places. The price point is just a little bit on the expensive side, but for how large the portions are, I didn't really mind. I'd definitely give El Barco another visit. Wonderful food and friendly staff!

More authentic than just about anywhere else in the Natti. Especially regarding seafood. They have an amazing selection (and great pricing) on lots of seafood dishes. The non seafood is good- and basically what I prefer, but seafood is the focus and what most Latino people tend to order here. Everything I've had is great, and definitely think you should try- especially for seafood.

First visit to this new restaurant (in the location that used to be Mi Familia) that highlights seafood like it's served in Mexico. Best Shrimp cerviche I ever tried. The burrito with green sauce is like a delicious chicken rice casserole wrapped up and with a beautiful sauce. We tried the shrimp and chicken fajitas which were delicious and plentiful, though the accompanying plate of "fixings" was too skimpy for the generous amount of meat, peppers and onions on the sizzling skillet. Tortillas were good but not house made. Also tried tacos Pastor and carnitas taco. Fine, but nothing unusually great. Service was wonderful. Seafood selections on the menu were impressive. Disappointed that there were no fish tacos except tilapia, which we don't eat. Chips were ok but not great. Salsa was fantastic. Food that we saw go by was pretty. Presentation is great, in general. Definitely will return often.

We had the burrito and a variety of tacos. Everything tasted good. The atmosphere seem very authentic. The large margarita was muy grande.

long story short: a lot of potential but too empty to deliver on the fun club energy…read more We went on Saturday night around midnight & the place was pretty empty. There was a DJ & a dance floor, but very few people were dancing, which was disappointing. The place itself was cool with colorful lights & fun graffiti-like walls, but the aesthetic was let down by the lack of people. We enjoyed the free popcorn & I really liked my drink, the downside up, although I realize it's probably too sweet for most. Unfortunately, the cocktail & popcorn didn't make up for the dead atmosphere & we left pretty quickly. I would be interested in going again & seeing what it would be like when it's lively; I imagine it would be a fun spot when the dance floor is full!

It was a nice night so we took advantage of being able to sit outside. I love all the random art and set up of the back. To drink I had the chunker, which was gin in a San Pelegríno it was a very refreshing drink! Deceptively doesn't taste like alcohol. I noticed some people with white claws and little airplane bottles so naturally I have to have a strong claw as well. We also had some very tasty shots, all around we had a good time, just hanging out and enjoying drinks, can't wait to come back here and visit again!

Some things are out of your control, but still I would've enjoyed my food more if I could have sat and ate it. This place feels a little light a hole in the wall in downtown Cincinnati. It does not have lots of tables, it is unassuming on the outside, and the menu is simple. We were drawn to it, even with the long lines because of all of the game goers. Considering its size and the line, we did not wait an unreasonable amount of time to order and then receive our food. Everyone orders at the counter so you have to go through one at a time and wait for everyone before you to decide their orders. The food is then called out and you have to go get it. This system probably helped our situation and made things move faster. I got their signature turtle, which is basically a large crunch wrap, with chicken served southwest style. It was awesome but very large! We were going out after and did not want to carry leftover boxes, so I ate it all and kind of regretted it after. But I simply could not stop cause the food was so good! The prices are also fair and they have plenty of beer and cocktails to offer from their bar. I would love to come back here on a quieter night so we can sit and enjoy the food wholly, perhaps with a beverage as well.

Food: 5/5 Dishes are explained as slightly larger plates than tapas style. My favorites: Wood Grilled Octopus, Crispy Falafel, Bouillabaisse. Love the Moroccan Mint Tea as well! Service: 4.7/5 Very friendly! They course out your plates for you which I always love. They were able to accommodate my pescatarian diet (I.e., meats on the side to give to others at the table). On a less busy night, they offered a free toast for my birthday. I've been for other celebratory dinners here on busier nights where that hasn't happened, so it was a lovely surprise! Ambiance: 4/5 A little busy and can get loud on the weekends with table chatter, cutlery clinks, and the brick walls echoing noise around. Tables are also close together, so you can definitely hear the conversation next to you. The decor is pleasant and the lighting is soft and romantic enough that it is still a perfect date night spot! There are also a couple larger crescent booths for larger parties.
