    Steak, chicken, and shrimp fajitas
    Alan G.

Seen this restaurant and decided to try it out. It's in a shopping strip area. They had a lot of servers but it took a while for us to get our drink order in. What surprised me is that they only served sweet tea and not unsweetened. We order the cheese dip. It was served with a spoon and it was watery where you couldn't dip the nachos without it running off. The salsa to me wasn't good, it tasted like spaghetti sauce. I had the steak, chicken and shrimp fajita. The beef and chicken had a good taste but there was no sour cream or guacamole but only lettuce, a slice of tomato and slice of onion. The rice was very bland but I enjoyed the bean soup, I believe it was charro bean soup. The presentation of the taco salad was nice but my wife said it was bland as well. The salad bowl was actually pretty good and that was the only thing she really like about it. The music in the restaurant was different than the bar and there was a machine that played music as well so you had loud music that was annoying. They had a lot of seafood on their menu and not a ton of other items which was good so you weren't overwhelmed looking at the menu. As I mentioned before there were a lot of servers for a small restaurant and we wouldn't see our servers for awhile. Overall it was just okay and I don't think I would go back as I have other favorites that I would rather go to first.

First time here. It was good. Definitely a place I would like to return too. The portion size was great. My shrimp ceviche was a small but it was enough for lunch and my dinner. Staff here was so pleasant. Great job everyone

Delicious food, and friendly staff. Only reason I it didn't receive five stars is there should've been an offer for more water in regards to refills and directions that you had to take the bill up to the register.

Found this place on a whim while shopping out in Trucounty. So happy I did. I love Mexican food and this place did not disappoint. The only reason they didn't get 5 stars is because when I walked in there were 2 staff members in the lobby, both on their cellphone. No one greeted me and they both looked at me. I was about to leave but then another staff came from the back and seated me. I was really thinking I should go but I was hungry and the food on the next table looked really good. She took my order fast and the food came even faster. I ordered the chicken tacos, chicken gorditas (but they gave me steak) and the rice and beans. I was mad about the Gordian but it tasted good and the steak was tender so I didn't complain...like I said I was hungry. I will say the rice and beans were absolutely FABULOUS! All in all it was a really good lunch and I do plan to return.

Sopes - Thick tortilla, beans, steak, crema, avocado and queso. There are two on this platter and I took one home.

My son and I stopped in for lunch today. This place is fabulous. This place is authentic. Everything is fresh and clean when you walk in. Everyone was very friendly. We were seated promptly and given menus. Since I speak about two words of Spanish, the menu was a bit complex for me. (I took one home and am planning the next visit.) It was lunch, so I wasn't looking for a feast. I got it anyway. They brought us the basket of tortilla chips and salsa. They asked if we wanted guacamole or cheese dip. We passed, but others in the restaurant didn't. Regret. The salsa was really good and pretty hot. Next time, we'll order the full appetizer. I ordered Sopes - A beautiful thick tortilla with steak (or other choice of meat), red sauce, beans, crema and avocado and queso. It was actually two tortillas - I took one home. The serving was huge! It was delicious. Just enough heat to make it interesting, but not too much. I would order again. Son ordered the California Burrito. Very, very big. Tasted wonderful (except for the cilantro - yes, I'm one of those). Here's the kicker. The french fries that accompanied it were fabulous, wonderful, OMG I never thought I would get french fries like that in a Mexican restaurant! They, alone were worth the trip. We finished with the fried ice cream because I'm a sucker for fried ice cream. Best I ever had. Since I wasn't getting the message about the food - fish plaques on the wall - fish on the menu - fish everywhere - I ordered steak. I will not make that mistake again. Everyone else in the restaurant was ordering various seafood platters. It is, basically, a seafood restaurant. LOL Angela was our server. She was friendly and efficient. I wish I had mined her for more information. Only complaint and it was big enough to knock off a star - Their drinks are all bottled or booze. I couldn't get any iced tea, which would have made this meal absolutely 10 stars. Water was bottled for $1. Son had the Mexican Coke and it was really good.

Be prepared: the music is LOUD. They have two different songs playing at the same time and both are loud. Now as for the food. We were a little scared when we saw the other reviews but honestly the food was fantastic! It was all delicious! We ordered the quesadilla, chimichanga, gorditas and tostada. All was very good!

    I wasn't kidding! Amazing food - can't miss!

Today I took a trip to coastal Mexico - Nayarit is located along the Mexican Riviera and boasts pristine waters offering an abundance of seafood. Thankfully I did t have to jump a flight - this restaurant is located in a small strip mall in Springdale. While the restaurant is small - it has a homey feel. It was obvious the patrons of this establishment cater to families and to regulars. They were quick to accommodate large parties with babies through adults. I was lucky to get in when I did - they were hopping on a Saturday Night. The menu does offer a wide selection of seafood dishes - if you find their cuisine to your liking this will be a place you'll want to try everything on the menu. I ordered the half dozen prepared oysters and the shrimp fajitas. They definitely had some amazing drinks available. If I was dining with a friend - I couldn't pass on the drink served in a hollowed out pineapple. I have to say - the service is a little slow, but, in their defense - they were getting hammered. Sadly, my oysters went to another table - a huge disappointment for me. My shrimp fajitas were perfect though. Plenty of perfectly grilled shrimp with an enormous side of rice, beans and lettuce. Honestly it would be enough for two. I think the midweek dinner hours might find the service more customer friendly. Understand that culturally, dining out is a family thing and typically lasts for hours. The mariachi music was fun and lent itself to a nice party atmosphere. It reminded me of a restaurant on the Baja Peninsula that I went to with friends after graduating from college. Exceptional!!

Wanted to love this place.....didn't. Fried Snapper was WAY Overcooked and extremely dry also didn'tlook so appealing....told our waitress, she agreed but did nothing Filete Rellenos was ok...too much cheese. Rice was OK, bit on the bland side, undressed salad, and why these plain crinkle cut fries??? With all the options out there, we won't return.

Overall a nice place to eat, the food is flavorful but it doesn't do anything to stand out from other Mexican restaurants around in my opinion.

Very good food and has a big menu for everyone's liking

I give it a 3 thumbs up the food is good and they keep on adding to the menu. Always somthing different to try

Since moving here from California we have been hunting for a good authentic Mexican food place. We have finally found it. Music is loud but I liked that. Service was amazing and speedy. Everyone was very nice . Food was AMAZING! My family is from Nayarit so felt like when I go visit Tepic. Will definitely be back and will definitely bring my folks when they visit from Los Angeles. Especially if you're planning to take it home to eat later, like I do. I rarely have room for dessert after eating my dinner. If you ever need a large "sheet- style" cake for a special occasion you should really think about ordering the tres leche cake from here, but It does have chopped nuts on top, so if that's an issue make sure you ask them to leave them off. With nuts or without, your guests will be amazed. We REALLY miss the former Mercado. They used to serve delicious hot foods and had great prices on meats/chicken, house made salsas, etc., They got rid of that area to make more room in the restaurant for customers.

We got the Chicken Tortilla Soup as well which was tangy, very flavorful with big pieces of shredded chicken and vegetables. I quite liked the soup a lot. And of course you get the complimentary chips and salsa on the side. The only thing that stood out to me is that it felt like they ran out of decent amount of avocado so they gave us tons of cucumber instead as a substitute. I've never had mexican cuisine with that large quantity of cucumber at other place before. Overall, 3.5/5. Decent food, will fill you up with their portion when you're hungry. The inside of the restaurant is well-decorated, cozy with a lot of booths as well as seats made of wooden drums which look aesthetically-pleasing to me. Service was quick and friendly.

The owner dropped by the table to say "hi," was open and friendly, and remembered us from our visit there last year. Our waitress was helpful, knowledgeable and efficient. She took our orders without taking any notes and got each one absolutely accurate, including which of the 11 of us ordered what. The meals arrived quickly and were fresh, authentic, and made-from scratch. One of my friends is allergic to capsaicin, the "active ingredient" in peppers, and asked that her dish be made without peppers. Not only could they easily accommodate her, but she absolutely loved the dietarily-amended meal. The owner told me they don't have a freezer - all food is bought fresh, and goes right out to the table within the next 2-3 days. You could definitely tell: all of our meals were fantastic -- huge portions of fresh food made with loving care -- from the nachos to the giant burritos, to the fajitas, quesadillas, enchiladas, and the house-made desserts -- (the fried ice cream was absolutely epic). My favorite was the Fajita Hawaiian, and I have a soft spot for the Jamaica (traditional hibiscus drink) that is freshly made on site. I know there's a lot of Mexican restaurants here in our area, but this one is very special, and really deserving of our love in these tough times.
