I'm not sure why it took me so long to try this place... Other than the fact that I thought it was a market for the longest time. My husband and I finally tried it recently and it is definitely one of my new favorite Mexican restaurants in the area. The salsa and chips were good and what you would imagine they should be. The prices were good. The staff was friendly. The interior was pretty classic Mexican restaurant. The queso was tasty. The real star of the show was the shrimp taco. The last time we ate here the service was so rude it was off putting. To make it worse - there was no soap in the restroom. There was only one restroom as the other one was blocked off. We both used the restroom and couldn't find any soap. Thankfully I had hand sanitizer in my purse. We told our server after I used the restroom that there wasn't any soap in there and no one put any in the whole time we were there. While we ate we watched our server go inside the restroom, stay for quite a while and when she came out she wiped her wet hands on her jeans. A male from the kitchen used the same restroom and then went right back into the kitchen. I said to my husband, "I hope someone put soap in there." Then my husband used the restroom right before we left and there was still no soap! No hand sanitizer either. Gross!! So we decided to never go back. Well, my husband forgot and stopped in recently. He has been sick since! Very sick. If he doesn't get better soon he'll likely need to seek medical attention for dehydration. He said they were very rude and unwelcoming again. Then he realized the Tongue Tacos he ordered tasted and smelled a bit off once he was already halfway through. He hasn't felt well since and is getting weak from all of the stomach distress that their spoiled food caused him. He obviously has food poisoning from this dirty place. read more

Seen this restaurant and decided to try it out. It's in a shopping strip area. They had a lot of servers but it took a while for us to get our drink order in. What surprised me is that they only served sweet tea and not unsweetened. We order the cheese dip. It was served with a spoon and it was watery where you couldn't dip the nachos without it running off. The salsa to me wasn't good, it tasted like spaghetti sauce. I had the steak, chicken and shrimp fajita. The beef and chicken had a good taste but there was no sour cream or guacamole but only lettuce, a slice of tomato and slice of onion. The rice was very bland but I enjoyed the bean soup, I believe it was charro bean soup. The presentation of the taco salad was nice but my wife said it was bland as well. The salad bowl was actually pretty good and that was the only thing she really like about it. The music in the restaurant was different than the bar and there was a machine that played music as well so you had loud music that was annoying. They had a lot of seafood on their menu and not a ton of other items which was good so you weren't overwhelmed looking at the menu. As I mentioned before there were a lot of servers for a small restaurant and we wouldn't see our servers for awhile. Overall it was just okay and I don't think I would go back as I have other favorites that I would rather go to first. read more

Ooh, this place is a vibe! A friend and I went on a Friday night. We wanted some Mexican food and wanted to go somewhere that neither one of us had been to. We were seated right away. There was a live band performing in Spanish. They were pretty good and added to the lively atmosphere! There was a very large family celebrating a birthday. In fact, several people were there celebrating birthdays. The band sang to them and the staff brought out cake and had noise makers. I would venture to say that we were one of, if not the the only, native, English speakers in the restaurant. It was nice and I got to practice my Spanish. This visit let me know that Necessito practicar. :-) The food was fresh, delicious, and reasonably priced. The service was a bit slow, but, very friendly. It was very crowded that night so service being a bit slow is to be expected. It is LOUD and festive so don't expect to have deep conversations, but, do be prepared to have a good time! read more

I'm from San Diego and I approve this message, it could be better but from all the mariscos places we've tried this one is the closest one that had authentic mariscos and the ambiance was great they had the Mexico soccer game going on if you don't like loud music while you eat might not be the place for you. Service could be a little better some of the servers where just standing in a corner I had to get another server who wasn't the one taking care of us to help me out. But again rather than that I recommend it specially the lemonade,shrimp tacos, the shrimp broth they give you at the beginning is sooo good! read more

This place is mainly a seafood restaurant From the menu to the walls and decor it's pretty obvious Though don't get me wrong they have other things as well on the menu A little something for everybody But their specialty is seafood When your seated your given a small little complimentary bowl with a shrimp soup and shrimp , like a sample size which is pretty cool as well as their complimentary salsa and chips I wasn't a fan of the salsa too much it was very tomatoey (yes I just made that word up lol) I got the chicken quesadillas the waitress asked if I wanted it "con todo" (with everything) I said yes But not sure what "todo" really meant because it literally was just a chicken and cheese quesadilla lol What was the with everything? There was nothing more It was very dry Kinda wish it came with sour cream and more (I thought that was what con todo meant like it comes with pico de gallo sour cream lechuga etc) It was very overcooked and brown like it was cooked on a flattop grill , very dry flavor and greasy at the same time I probably should have asked for some sour cream but I don't think it would have helped to be honest Hubby had the shrimp cocktail which I regret not getting cuz it looked reallll good He couldn't even finish it They give you a lot of shrimp ! Definitely will come back and try other menu items I wanna try that shrimp cocktail for sure next time I should have just stuck to their seafood items lesson learned lol Will be back ! Found this place on a whim while shopping out in Trucounty. So happy I did. I love Mexican food and this place did not disappoint. The only reason they didn't get 5 stars is because when I walked in there were 2 staff members in the lobby, both on their cellphone. No one greeted me and they both looked at me. I was about to leave but then another staff came from the back and seated me. I was really thinking I should go but I was hungry and the food on the next table looked really good. She took my order fast and the food came even faster. I ordered the chicken tacos, chicken gorditas (but they gave me steak) and the rice and beans. I was mad about the Gordian but it tasted good and the steak was tender so I didn't complain...like I said I was hungry. I will say the rice and beans were absolutely FABULOUS! My son and I stopped in for lunch today. This place is fabulous. This place is authentic. Everything is fresh and clean when you walk in. Everyone was very friendly. We were seated promptly and given menus. Since I speak about two words of Spanish, the menu was a bit complex for me. (I took one home and am planning the next visit.) It was lunch, so I wasn't looking for a feast. I got it anyway. They brought us the basket of tortilla chips and salsa. They asked if we wanted guacamole or cheese dip. We passed, but others in the restaurant didn't. Regret. The salsa was really good and pretty hot. Next time, we'll order the full appetizer. I ordered Sopes - A beautiful thick tortilla with steak (or other choice of meat), red sauce, beans, crema and avocado and queso. It was actually two tortillas - I took one home. The serving was huge! It was delicious. Just enough heat to make it interesting, but not too much. I would order again. Son ordered the California Burrito. Very, very big. Tasted wonderful (except for the cilantro - yes, I'm one of those). Here's the kicker. The french fries that accompanied it were fabulous, wonderful, OMG I never thought I would get french fries like that in a Mexican restaurant! They, alone were worth the trip. We finished with the fried ice cream because I'm a sucker for fried ice cream. Best I ever had. Since I wasn't getting the message about the food - fish plaques on the wall - fish on the menu - fish everywhere - I ordered steak. I will not make that mistake again. Everyone else in the restaurant was ordering various seafood platters. It is, basically, a seafood restaurant. LOL Angela was our server. She was friendly and efficient. I wish I had mined her for more information. Only complaint and it was big enough to knock off a star - Their drinks are all bottled or booze. Today I took a trip to coastal Mexico - Nayarit is located along the Mexican Riviera and boasts pristine waters offering an abundance of seafood. Thankfully I did t have to jump a flight - this restaurant is located in a small strip mall in Springdale. While the restaurant is small - it has a homey feel. It was obvious the patrons of this establishment cater to families and to regulars. They were quick to accommodate large parties with babies through adults. I was lucky to get in when I did - they were hopping on a Saturday Night. The menu does offer a wide selection of seafood dishes - if you find their cuisine to your liking this will be a place you'll want to try everything on the menu. I ordered the half dozen prepared oysters and the shrimp fajitas. They definitely had some amazing drinks available. If I was dining with a friend - I couldn't pass on the drink served in a hollowed out pineapple. I have to say - the service is a little slow, but, in their defense - they were getting hammered. Sadly, my oysters went to another table - a huge disappointment for me. My shrimp fajitas were perfect though. Plenty of perfectly grilled shrimp with an enormous side of rice, beans and lettuce. Honestly it would be enough for two. I think the midweek dinner hours might find the service more customer friendly. Understand that culturally, dining out is a family thing and typically lasts for hours. The mariachi music was fun and lent itself to a nice party atmosphere. When this place was Blue Agave it was great. Now it sucks. Only bottled beverages, no water unless you pay for a bottle. The menu is seafood focused which is okay I guess but the food is just okay. And the service! Bernice was our waitress and she totallyacted like it was an inconvenience to wait on us. Princess . . . not in a good way. Won't be back. Don't recommend it. Was here visiting from out of town and found this place. I had a fish taco and a shrimp tostada. The shrimp tostada was ok as far as flavor because it was a little bland. But the fish taco was really good. I liked the atmosphere, it was very lively and apparantly they have live entertainment on the weekend, on sundays from what I was told. Also the girls were really nice and attentive. Specially Jackie my waitress, she was on top of everything I needed and kept checking on me to make sure I had everything I needed. Just moved back to Cincy after living in tx for 10 yrs, used to eat here when it was blue agave, happened to be in the area so tried it today. It was really awful, the service was very poor, we had to continue to ask for things, they couldn't understand silverware, and had to send out someone to interpret - they served us food without a fork or a knife and were confused about the word silverware. We just ordered fish tacos, a side of beans and a margarita. The tacos were very unimpressive, the fish was like chopped up fried Gordon's fish sticks, the beans were cold, and the margarita was not good, it tasted like limeaed. Maybe some of the other menu items are better, but everything looked very over priced and not worth trying, we weren't very hungry just wanted some lunch items. They don't serve tortilla soup which is what we were hoping for. We will never return here and definitely would not recommend, I'd give 0 stars if I could. We've lived in Austin tx for the last 10 years and we know tacos, not sure what they served us today. They need Robert Irvine, maybe he'd update their menu. read more

Went there today 2/23 and could hardly stand the volume of the music. My husband agrees that we have never been to a restaurant where the music volume has literally been deafening. We had to wait for a table. We thought getting away from the bar area would help, but no. We were seated in the back where there was another blaring speaker. We left w/o ordering. After 10 mins there, I had a headache. Never again. I am really disappointed as I had been wanting to try the food for awhile now. But it is no fun to not be able to talk with your husband or friends and to have to shout to be heard! Management, please do something about this or you will be turning off more folks. read more
