We've been here a few times over the years, only because it's not really close to home. Last time they were in the middle of remodeling. It's beautiful inside! And the accent tile is what I have in my master bathroom (hehehe!). The food is always delicious and decently priced. Service is also good. Stopped by here for a really late lunch (linner) and ordered to go. We both got the Street Tacos dinner which give you 3 corn tortillas with choice of fillings plus rice and de la olla beans. I chose grilled chicken, pineapple pork (al pastor), and shrimp. The tacos were big portioned and very filling. Delicious flavors. He got the asada (steak), shrimp and I think chicken. He liked his very much as well, he had gotten takeouts from here several times. We got the Chicken Tortilla Soup as well which was tangy, very flavorful with big pieces of shredded chicken and vegetables. I quite liked the soup a lot. And of course you get the complimentary chips and salsa on the side. The only thing that stood out to me is that it felt like they ran out of decent amount of avocado so they gave us tons of cucumber instead as a substitute. I've never had mexican cuisine with that large quantity of cucumber at other place before. Overall, 3.5/5. Decent food, will fill you up with their portion when you're hungry. Conveniently located off a busy street next to other restaurants, this Mexican restaurant has some of the most well presented drinks. Honestly, you could have an appetizer or desert sitting on top of your drink. It comes with a lot of extras besides the beverage. Service was pretty good! Whatever we asked for, we received. All of the food was hot and enough for leftovers. I could not eat it all. But what's a Mexican place with no happy hour ??? I couldn't believe it. I do enjoy the menu here at Dos Amigos, I use to go the the one in Liberty Twp, but they closed the location close to my home. I came here for dinner and I always get the Carnitas Dinner, the Carnitas here is some perfectly prepared I have no idea how to order anything else. I did order one of there $3.99 Margaritas during my visit, sadly the cheap drink tends to mean less tequila at least that is my experience, so order several or upgrade to the better versions. I will come back again if for no reason other than the Carnitas, I haven't found them anywhere else that has the same flavor and tenderness. Can you tell I like them. Dos Amigos received my business because O'Charley's(next door) apparently didn't want our business after waiting forever for a host/hostess to show up at the front counter. My friend and I were seated immediately. Prompt service. Food to table within 15 min and sizzling hot. Our meals were very good. We had 3 different people check on us every few min. A tad much, but hey, I would rather have this type of attention than the opposite. The decor was unique and they have a rather bad-ass fireplace. I went in after leaving work early. Stopped by to grab lunch. It wasn't super busy so the staff took my order right away after going over the menu with me. They were really friendly. Discussed ordering spicy items but they only offered a job sauce to try. I ordered the chicken enchiladas lunch special. It came with rice. The meal was very tasty. Sadly that my salsa container was not sealed and it spilled all over my car. Sad because I had to clean it due to the smell it left and I didn't get to try it. It appeared fresh. I did try to hot sauce which was good. I will try this spot again. Maybe next time I will dine in and check out the service inside. Then I can check out the sauces. Overall good carryout experience. This is my go to place for Mexican food. They are the most consistent restaurant Mexican restaurant in the area. Typically, we go as a family, on Sundays after church. We are always seated quickly, order taken quickly, and food arrives quickly. All the servers are very attentive. The steak fajita-quesadilla is my favorite. read more

But I do believe they could've done a better job at multitasking rather than running away tables. The food wasn't anything special to me. Just your typical run of the place Mexican food. COVID Visit: Came here on a Monday night during COVID with family. They did allow us to sit together outside which was nice. The patio is covered and has little lights hanging so it was nice being out there. We were instantly asked for drink orders and provided chips and salsa. The server did not speak a lot of English but she did a good job at taking all our orders and requests. I asked for separate salsa bowls due to COVID and they happily provided that to everyone. The margaritas were pretty strong, the salsa and chips were standard quality from a restaurant. I ordered the chicken fajitas and was very happy that it was not super oily, if anything the meat and veggies were kind of dry, but once adding the other toppings it was not bad. The guacamole was a piece of a large avocado, which I think was in the fridge and under-ripe as it was very hard to cut through. When our food was brought out other waiters/waitresses helped bring it out and one waitress was not wearing a face mask, but all others were. The restaurant had everyone walk through the restaurant to get to the outdoor patio as they advertise they have a "disinfecting floor mat" and hand sanitizer everywhere. Overall, decent experience as the food was okay, service pretty good and the margaritas great. Not sure I am dying to come back, but will not take it off my list if I am in the area again. read more

Miguel took great care of me. My coworkers and I pop in here a couple times a month, but this time I stopped in by myself. Miguel remembered that my carryout order a couple weeks ago did it go as well as it could have, so he made sure that I was very well taken care of today. We ate here the night before Thanksgiving. Barely anyone in the place at dinner time made us a little nervous. Service was pretty good except the waiters cologne was strong. Came here for an early dinner on a Saturday afternoon. Someone told me this is a pretty solid Mexican spot for a good meal and jumbo margaritas! Safe to say, I wasn't disappointed because I cleaned my plate and couldn't make it through the marg because they're so large. The service was very attentive and quick (probably because we were one of 4 tables). I appreciated that there was a section devoted to vegetarian options to make the decision making a bit easier. The margs were truly jumbo! I will say, I normally get mine on the rocks but I should've totally gotten a frozen marg this time around. I though the marg on the rocks tasted more syrupy and I couldn't taste much of the tequila. The frozen marg taste MUCH better. I did takeout from here a few days ago, around May 3, and was quite pleased with my meal. The guacamole was delicious and fresh. The chips were not salted, which I prefer because the guac and salsa have enough salt. I had a chicken speciality called pechuga rellena. It was a huge chicken breast stuffed with ham and peppers. It came with rice, beans, salad and tortillas. I ate half and saved half for another entire dinner. Beans an rice were tasty. Chicken was very good too. Ham makes the filling a bit salty for me but most people think my food needs salt. My daughter had a chicken dish that came with mushrooms and queso. She also enjoyed hers and saved half for another day. She is very picky about guacamole and says this is the best around. All in all we will order again. read more

Since usually not a lot distinguishes one typical Mexican American restaurant from another the finer details are important. First off, they have a patio! On days like today a patio is required at my lunch spot of choice. They also have absolutely delicious salsa. Bring me a dish of their guac to go with it and I'm set! Today and many other days I ordered the Enchiladas Supreme lunch special. The sauce tasted fresh and tomatoes were especially delicious. The chicken was tender, and I could eat the cheese enchiladas all day! Delicious as every meal there has been. Service is okay. Usually prompt but not very friendly, except today's host was very warm. They get the job done though and food always comes out lightening fast! Tried Dos Amigos 2 weeks ago with a carry out order. The food was absolutely delicious with the best carry out service. I was so impressed I decided to go back the very next week to dine in and took 2 friends with me. The service was HORRIBLE!! Other than drinks, we waited 20 minutes to place food order, another 45 minutes for for the wrong order to come out. Asked to speak with manager. This person (presumed to be manager) was borderline rude and did not seem the least concerned with our complaint. If you ask anyone who knows me what my favorite food is, their answer may in fact be Mexican, and they would be right. It would come as no surprise then, that when I found out a new Mexican restaurant was occupying the building formerly home to Buffalo Wings & Rings, I was more than happy. After dining at Dos Amigos, a few times now, I can say that while it is nothing special when it comes to Mexican dining, it is definitely tasty enough for me to justify multiple return visits. In addition, the food is reasonably priced, and the service is generally quick and friendly. Although, it can at times, seem like they are trying a bit too hard. However, blaming someone for trying to do a good job seems a bit petty. The bottom line is, Dos Amigos isn't the best Mexican food I have ever had, but it is definitely good and comparable to what you would find at El Rancho Grande or a similar chain. If you are headed here for lunch, don't forget to check around for coupons, as you can often find a pretty good deal and save yourself a bit of money as well! read more

Cincinnati, Ohio. Tuesday night. Not packed. Then again, outside was colder than a witch's pinky. They seated us relatively fast. Just on the other side of the bar area. This room: ginormous. Fireplace blazing. Spanish music playing lightly overhead. Not long after, the waiter was there asking us for our drinks. And seconds later, after he took our order, he was back. Chips and salsa in hand. A crisp snap. Salty. Salsa just right. I couldn't complain. But what I can complain about is the menu. It was huge. So many choices. So little time. Which, to me at least, is a good thing. So, I went with simple and picked the chicken burrito. That's my measure of things. If you go to a new restaurant, you pick out their bread and butter. Italian, spaghetti and meatballs. Chinese, General Tso's Chicken and fried rice. Because if they mess that up, you can almost guarantee that everything else on their menu will follow suit. Then, there it was. The burrito in all its glory--huge, drenched in sauce, magnificent. Stretching from one end of the plate to the other. The first thing I noticed was that everything was covered in film of cleaning solution. The smell was pretty intense upon first sitting down. Perhaps that was just because I arrived literally right after they opened that morning, but it still was not a great start to my lunch. They start you with chips and salsa. I thought the salsa was heavy on the tomato and light on everything else. Not too good. Normally every Mexican place has pretty much the same lunch menu, but Dos Amigos had some unique items. I like to see that! There was plenty of parking and plenty of seating inside. The service was fast and friendly. And the prices were on par with the competition. The worst experience I have EVER had at any restaurant I have ever been at, and that's saying a lot. Places an order at 7:34 pm, called at 7:43 pm to make sure my order came through because it said it was still waiting on them to confirm, the lady told me they got her and it would be ready in about 10-15 minutes so I got there at 8pm and food wasn't ready. Went to my car came back in 10 minutes later and they still said it wasn't ready and they couldn't give me a timeframe of when it would be ready. Asked for a manager and the guy told me he would grab someone and then continued to do everything but that and then would disappear in the back when he saw us. Finally got our food at 8:32 told them I still wanted to speak to a manager and they tried to tell me they had no manager in right now and wouldn't have one until Monday. two other people came in for picks up after me, one guy said he called and was also told 10-15 mins and they tried the same thing with him.
