    Ember Avocado Toast
    Erin F.

Sleepy Bee is a consistently sunny positive place! I met a friend here and we were able to get a table during the mid morning rush with plenty of room for my baby (high chair) and we were served quickly. Our experience was good, but seemed a little more low-frills than in past visits. We were served water once and then not again- sat without refills for most of the meal. We ordered quickly and the food came out fast! Our server came back to ask "had anyone taken payment yet?" And did so with a card reader right at the table, which felt a little clunkier but no big deal. The wonderful part of the food is the local sourcing. Everything is really high quality! The taste was just okay, I was a little underwhelmed but I enjoyed the lunch enough! I ordered the avocado toast. The bread was thin and a little soggy from what I think was the ember sauce, although I am not sure what that is as I didn't get a lot of flavor through! The egg and avocado were perfect with a yummy hemp heart topping. The salad took up most of the plate but was plain greens with a little dressing and celery pieces. A little bitter for most of the bites! I guess my expectations were a little higher for one of cincy's premier brunch places and I just found the meal "okay". Lastly, parking can be a challenge here! It's only paid street parking on the surrounding streets, but it's such a nice pretty area that parking and walking is often a lovely part of the experience.

Cinnamon Roll Pancakes and Nutty Bee Pancake

Have been to a couple other Sleepy Bee locations but first time for Oakley. Our server was very attentive and helpful with our questions. I ordered the Cinnamon Roll Pancakes because I wanted something sweet and they sure delivered! The cream cheese frosting balanced the sweetness nicely and I had some still for leftovers because they were so big.

    Avi + seasonal pancake

Glad I found this place for lunch, initially I thought it is a local cafe/diner because it has a cozy vibe. Once you sit down, waitress will tell you that they are famous for coffee and pancakes. I don't need caffeine at that moment so I just go for pancakes and scrambled eggs. They use free range eggs and other fresh veggies in my "The Avi " scrambled, delicious. I would add more eggs next time. I think the free range eggs is smaller than the cage free ones. Pancakes, that they are famous for. It is very good. The pancake itself is very standard. But the house mix syrup make all the difference. I have the seasonal pancake and the topping is cinnamon sugar + cream cheese. Never had this type of combination before and it is very well done.

    Chicken sandwich and side salad

First time with some friends for a midweek lunch. Cool vibe and decor; menu had plenty of options for breakfast/brunch or lunch. I ordered a chicken sandwich and side salad with a cortado coffee. Everything was tasty but the amount of bacon and avocado left me searching to see if it was even on the sandwich. It was technically there but felt like it was skimpy for what the sandwich should have been. Cortado was delicious.

Cute spot for breakfast! Coffee is flavorful and strong. Loved the eggs on the Greek bee but the sides could have done more for me. Some of the sweet potatoes were underdone. Buckwheat pancake was a hit for the table!

I've been to Sleepy Bee a handful of times and it's always a solid meal. Expect it to busy and there to be a wait on a weekend but you can usually get your name on the list from the yelp app. Not pictured are the pancakes which are the best item on the menu. Fluffy and filling. They've added more tables on the floor so it can be a little tight but overall I've always had a positive experience

What a cute place with a fantastic menu! Grabbed some takeout on my way into town for a family thing- really loved the Avi Scramble and the coffee was great too! Will definitely come back next time I'm in the area!

We stopped by Sleepy Bee cafe for brunch on a Sunday. The place was packed. We joined their waitlist on Yelp and were seated in 5-10 mins. This is a women owned business that locally sources everything they make. The food did not disappoint! We tried the mocha and the cappuccino. Both were excellent! Probably the best coffee I have had in a long time. For food, we got the Avi scramble and the breakfast burrito. Both were really good. We also tried their pancake of the day - the mango crunch cake. It was delicious and light - not too sweet either! The service was prompt and they do a great job making sure you receive your food promptly. They were very attentive despite being busy!

In our opinion some of the best pancakes in town. Definitely worth a visit whether you live in Cinci or just visiting.

Essentially for me I had waited too long to eat and the idea of waiting longer was a non starter for me. Sandwiches are not my go to food outside the house, it seems silly on some level. But what I remember most of all is the food, particularly ducking into a little shop off a piazza somewhere to grab whatever I could buy and eat while we walked to our next sightseeing destination--a pastry, a slice of pizza, or a sandwich. At Alveo, I almost feel like I'm right back there. The restaurant is small and lively, not a place to linger exactly but a place where you can tell you'll be taken care of. Just as many patrons are ordering to go as they are to stay. And the sandwiches? Good enough to power many, many steps of sightseeing across cobblestones, or just get you through the afternoon at your home or office in Cincinnati. They've absolutely nailed the ingredients on every sandwich I've tried, with high-quality components selected specifically for how they go together. (Like those little sandwich shops in Europe, there are no substitutions here--unless you'd like gluten free bread.) The bread? Unreal how it can hold these constructions together while being soft and delicious. The meats? Perfection. The cheese? Incredible. That pistachio stuff? I see it in my dreams. The one area where Alveo definitely deviates from its European brethren is portion size--these sandwiches are huge! They come in a paper wrapper, inside a to-go box, and believe me, you will probably need it. Each time I've been to Alveo I've ended up eating about half the sandwich for lunch and the rest for dinner, maybe with a snack in between, and felt perfectly satisfied for the day. So, yes, the $20+ price tag might discourage you, but don't let it. It's a $20 investment in a very, very delicious day.

I had heard that their pop-up dinners sell out very quickly so I was ready the day they were posted and grabbed a few spots for one of their February dates. Dinner was delicious! Four courses-the gnocchi with sausage was our favorite dish of the night.

We live in West Chester and have driven down to there a few times just to pick up delicious dinners. We just attended our first dinner there last Tuesday. Oh My Goodness! What a treat. Jordan greeted us with a glass of Prosecco and directed us where to sit a long table that seats 20. We introduced ourselves to our seatmates and then our first dish arrived. Chef does explain the food before we had each dish, however we wished there was more background and history as to how this place came into being. So expect fantastic food without a lot of details. The first dish was a salad made with all local ingredients. It was so fresh and the dressing made with fresh dill was fantastic. The second dish was a ravioli with northern Italian cheese on a bed of butternut squash puree and brown butter. The pasta was SO delicate and the flavors complimented each other so well. The third dish was a 6 hour braised pork shoulder with ricotta gnocchi in a sauce with Calabrian chilis and I don't know what else. We have been to Italy and all the Italian restaurants in Cincinnati and never had anything like this. It was truly phenomenal. Dessert was a apple upside down cake served warm with whipped cream...fantastic. You bring your own wine, and Jordan is on it by never letting your glass get empty, pouring water, and clearing dishes. Service was so great and she is so friendly and accommodating. The cost was a very reasonable $100/pp and SO worth it. There is no menu, so you go in just devouring what Chef has prepared.
