Cinnamon Roll Pancakes and Nutty Bee Pancake
    Emma S.

Have been to a couple other Sleepy Bee locations but first time for Oakley. Our server was very attentive and helpful with our questions. I ordered the Cinnamon Roll Pancakes because I wanted something sweet and they sure delivered! The cream cheese frosting balanced the sweetness nicely and I had some still for leftovers because they were so big.

Eggs with smashed potatoes with nectar sauce?

This place has gone WAAAAY downhill. When we arrived the place was completely dead. Just one couple waiting for a friend. We put our order in at 10. We got our drinks. People start walking in. At 930 the party that was there has already finished eating. They were a party of 3 and we a party of 5, 3 of which are children. At 10am we see several parties after us getting served that arrived a half hour or more after us. My husband asked around 10am where our food was as we're approaching an hour. We were told at this point by our server he made a mistake that he took our order manually and didn't enter it into his system and that it would be 10 min. Our food arrived an hour later from when we sat. The food arrived cold. The toast completely untoasted. The potatoes ice cold and the nectar sauce was just plain mayo. It was gross. My husband was so livid he wanted his meal taken off after just one bite. We ate in 5 min and checked out 10:20am. Never again and with all the adjustments it was still over $50 for couple slabs of pancakes and a yogurt. They're closing for repairs. Our cushions were completely broken. This place mars the Sleepy Bee name as the Blue Ash location has always been solid for us. Such a disappointment in a great location.

Definitely go here! Everything is delicious! You may have to wait but it's worth it. Love the latte!

    The Worker Bee restaurant

The food is delicious. My husband had the Avi Scramble which had fresh avocado...so good. I went with the Worker Bee...traditional eggs and bacon. The only negative comment I have is you only get one small piece of multigrain toast. Not enough to "mop" your egg yolks when you get your eggs over easy.

    Avi + seasonal pancake

Glad I found this place for lunch, initially I thought it is a local cafe/diner because it has a cozy vibe. Once you sit down, waitress will tell you that they are famous for coffee and pancakes. I don't need caffeine at that moment so I just go for pancakes and scrambled eggs. They use free range eggs and other fresh veggies in my "The Avi " scrambled, delicious. I would add more eggs next time. I think the free range eggs is smaller than the cage free ones. Pancakes, that they are famous for. It is very good. The pancake itself is very standard. But the house mix syrup make all the difference. I have the seasonal pancake and the topping is cinnamon sugar + cream cheese. Never had this type of combination before and it is very well done.

    Chicken sandwich and side salad

First time with some friends for a midweek lunch. Cool vibe and decor; menu had plenty of options for breakfast/brunch or lunch. I ordered a chicken sandwich and side salad with a cortado coffee. Everything was tasty but the amount of bacon and avocado left me searching to see if it was even on the sandwich. It was technically there but felt like it was skimpy for what the sandwich should have been. Cortado was delicious.

Cute spot for breakfast! Coffee is flavorful and strong. Loved the eggs on the Greek bee but the sides could have done more for me. Some of the sweet potatoes were underdone. Buckwheat pancake was a hit for the table!

Impressive! We had a great breakfast at this place. The pancakes are huge and filling. Although they were busy, the staff were all pleasant and provided great service. We will certainly "bee" back. See what I did there. :)

I've been to Sleepy Bee a handful of times and it's always a solid meal. Expect it to busy and there to be a wait on a weekend but you can usually get your name on the list from the yelp app. Not pictured are the pancakes which are the best item on the menu. Fluffy and filling. They've added more tables on the floor so it can be a little tight but overall I've always had a positive experience

What a cute place with a fantastic menu! Grabbed some takeout on my way into town for a family thing- really loved the Avi Scramble and the coffee was great too! Will definitely come back next time I'm in the area!

What's striking about the restaurant itself is how quiet and calm it feels. With limited nightly seatings and every dinner table doing the tasting menu there's a sort of orchestrated flow that permeates the space. Not to say energy is low or it's so quiet you feel self-conscious talking; it's just that nothing about the experience feels rushed or accidental. As expected, the bread course was phenomenal as was all the food we enjoyed! We opted for the wine pairing along with dinner, which results in about 1.5 or 2 full glasses over the course of the meal. The sommelier did an excellent job introducing and explaining each wine, as well as why it was selected to pair with each course. All told, a lovely experience and one worth repeating--and not just because the menu changes every season.

Ordering twice gave us the opportunity to explore several dishes, and the quality and presentation remained thoughtful each time. Service was prompt and seamless, allowing us to enjoy a restaurant-level meal in the comfort of our room without losing the sense of intention behind the food. We sampled the steak and eggs, omelette, pork hash, along with lattes and cappuccinos. The coffee program was excellent, balanced and well crafted, pairing beautifully with the savory dishes. The steak and eggs and omelette were satisfying and well executed, but the true standout was the pork hash. It was deeply flavorful, comforting yet elevated, with a richness that felt chef-driven rather than heavy. Every bite carried warmth and depth, making it the highlight of our stay. Metropole succeeds in creating a dining experience that feels both approachable and quietly sophisticated. It essentially gives the same vibes that Panera did in the 2000s lol Pairs well with the bookstore aesthetic :) The Roasted Pear & Goat Cheese Flatbread is naan bread with roasted pears, goat cheese, dried cranberries, walnuts, and arugula drizzled with a balsamic sauce. It's a dish served at room temperature or cold, which means there's not much adhering the toppings to the naan. That's fine, but makes eating a bit of a dance while trying not to spill/drop anything. The flavors work well together. I've seen many salads with this combination and it transitions over to a flatbread okay enough. I would've wished the roasted pear to have a little bit more sweetness...more like a cooked apple with sugars and a syrupy-ness to bind the cranberries, walnuts, and arugula together. As it was, the goat cheese was the most notable flavor and it was somewhat overpowering if you didn't get a well rounded bite. Good for those who like goat cheese, like myself, but less desirable for those more interested in the potential sweetness of pear or tanginess from the balsamic. This was fine but not my favorite way to spend $15. It makes a better shareable than personal dish. This is a cup of vegetarian chili. It has fresh veggies, beans, tomatoes, rice, sour cream, shredded jack, and scallions. This was delicious. I've never had rice in my chili before, so that's was a pleasant surprise. I liked this more than the flatbread, though $8 for a cup of chili seems a little high. I also got a hot chocolate. I didn't get a picture of that, but it was yummy and good enough for $5. Our service was slow, but there were only 2 serves at rush, so I was fine with that. Our waiter seemed very sweet and he's been my server at least once in the past too.
