My boyfriend and I quickly stopped in before a road trip. There were a lot of people inside and I didn't know they had a full breakfast and lunch menu. I ordered a chai tea and a sausage, egg & cheese. The chai tea was warm on a rainy morning and there wasn't as much cinnamon which I liked. They both were fantastic! The pancakes someone got looked really good as well. I want to come back and have a sit down breakfast soon!

The Painter Mike is particularly tasty with the sausage gravy and Kim liked her eggs, pancakes and potatoes! This place has a nice feel to it with friendly servers and good background music in an hippie-ish vibe interior

A very interesting vibe in the cafe. It kinda feels like walking into the Friends coffee shop without couches. The walls are covered with lots of art and some seasonal decor (like Christmas and Halloween) as well as an American flag mural. Our food was good and so was the service. Decent breakfast at a decent price. I do like the winder seating they have - it's a fun addition to the cafe.

The woman taking our order was so incredibly kind! Especially when we were lost on what to order. The omelettes were amazing. I loved the potatoes!

A super cool and personal spot with the most friendly and engaging staff! The vibe was fun and matched the surrounding area. The pancakes were very good and the veggie omelette and home fries were solid! The prices were reasonable and the menu is large. My only gripe is that my latte was much too sweet.

Avenue Brew is my all time favorite coffee shop. I'm only 6 miles away but wish I lived in walking distance. Their holiday brew coffee is my favorite coffee! I bought the grounds for home! The staff is kind and it's a very small town, cozy feeling. The food is phenomenal! My favorite is the lite and fit! Egg whites, with sundried tomatoes, onions, with pesto on top and amazing cheese. Served with fried potatoes and toast... I try to come every week if I can!

Avenue Brew is a cute little breakfast diner that brings a small town charm to the main street of Bellevue. We went as a group of 6 in total and got there around 11:40 with orders placed at 11:45 with the cashier. The coffee was good and the interior of the place is very welcoming and invites a lot of conversation to take place. Conversation is absolutely needed because we did not receive our food untold 12:35, a 50 minute wait for a breakfast place. Mind you, yes they were a little busy when we first arrived but for the amount of food we ordered we were disappointed with the wait. Most of our party got the pancakes and enjoyed them! For my part I got the "Rose's Ultimate Breakfast Sandwich" a best of both worlds with two pancakes forming the bread in a Cajun Chicken sandwich. The Cajun chicken was delicious and the pancakes were nice and fluffy. I wish I would have gotten a little more Cajun chicken but overall the sandwich was quite good. The blueberry pancakes on the other hand came out with a unique taint of blue that got the table excited. However, the blueberry pancake itself was a little disappointing. The waitstaff was very attentive and I would recommend this place if you are not worried about getting your food right away and instead enjoy the ambiance.

I'm not usually big on the small cafe/coffee shop scene but this place proved me wrong. Service was great, you order at the counter and they bring it out when it's ready. I did not expect the menu to have normal hearty breakfast options but they certainly did and it was all hot fresh and pretty good. We would eat here again. It's also located in a very neat walkable area. Their highlander grog coffee is superior also!

The portions for even a tasting menu were extremely small. My entee (salmon) came out not hot. Our server was not attentive (never once refilled our water glasses or asked if we enjoyed any of our dishes). Overall we were left with the question of: what is all the fuss about with this restaurant? We will not be back.

What's striking about the restaurant itself is how quiet and calm it feels. With limited nightly seatings and every dinner table doing the tasting menu there's a sort of orchestrated flow that permeates the space. Not to say energy is low or it's so quiet you feel self-conscious talking; it's just that nothing about the experience feels rushed or accidental. As expected, the bread course was phenomenal as was all the food we enjoyed! We opted for the wine pairing along with dinner, which results in about 1.5 or 2 full glasses over the course of the meal. The sommelier did an excellent job introducing and explaining each wine, as well as why it was selected to pair with each course. All told, a lovely experience and one worth repeating--and not just because the menu changes every season.

The Goetta is a regional dish popular to the area comprised of sausage and potato fried like a smash burger. It was packed full of flavor and was nice and crispy. A must get was the biscuit and gravy. Unlike the southern style which is usually thick and creamy, this has amazing seasoning, plenty of the sausage crumble, and rich texture. The biscuit underneath was soft and savory and paired very well in this dish. The filet and eggs were perfectly cooked and had good flavor. There were a lot of diced potatoes on the plate to enjoy which was also well seasoned and crispy. Lastly the big easy omelette was very good. I do like the fact it was plated on top of a piece of toast. The biscuit and gravy along with the omelette gave a very strong New Orleans feeling. The cocktails also hit their mark. Local distillery Riff was the maker of the bourbon for the mule. I'm not sure of their lineup but it compared to Bulleit Bourbon. Very stable in the cocktail without being overpowering. The hard truth was a coffee with a punch and a great way to start a vacation morning. The restaurant was deceptively large from its outward appearance. There is lots of seating available and the tables moved swiftly. The large garage style doors allowed for full fresh air circulation and opens the brightness from the natural lighting. Being a corner location they were able to maximize on the opened interior dining experience. Overall 4.7 out of 5

We started with the spicy candied sprouts, a wonderful combination of roasted Brussel Sprouts, hot honey, spicy candied bacon, and served with house-made ranch ($11). These were definitely spicy, but were very tasty and a wonderful dish to share as an appetizer. The ladies shared the chicken & waffles, a large plate of fried chicken, served on a house waffle, with hot honey, spicy candied bacon, butter, and powdered sugar ($19). This featured some of the same ingredients as the sprouts, but was a much sweeter dish thanks to the sugar and waffles. They were very happy with the choice, and this is available on both the brunch and dinner menus. I ordered the Greek chicken wrap with shredded chicken, hummus, pickled red onions, cucumber, feta, and cilantro vinaigrette, all wrapped in naan bread and served with house-cut fries ($16). This was really good, and I especially liked the tangy cilantro vinaigrette sauce. The fries were also very good. This dish is also available on both the brunch and dinner menus.

Decided to split the Silver Charm for an appetizer, and it came about ten minutes later. The onion rings were decent, good flavor and somewhat crispy. The accompanying sauces of barbecue and ranch were both good as well, though both were missing something to elevate them a bit more I think. The flavor was good, but quite a small portion for $10. My wife ordered the Strike the Gold Burger and I went for the Northern Dancer Crispy Chicken. The sandwiches came out about ten minutes after we finished the Silver Charm, which was perfect timing. She liked her burger pretty well, and I took a bite too. The "caramelized onions" were definitely more sauteed, with still a bit of crunch, and otherwise I could really only taste the barbecue sauce, which was tasty, but I would have liked some more varied flavors. My chicken sandwich was... a bit disappointing. Rather than a chicken piece that appropriately fit the bun, it was more of a chicken strip, with bites that would only yield bun. In addition, because the chicken piece was so small, it was also extremely dry, which is a bummer because I actually thought the breading was very tasty. The chipotle aioli was decent, but didn't pack as much spice or flavor as I was hoping. And with only two toppings and a sauce on the whole sandwich, I was disappointed that the tomato was rather mushy and didn't seem fresh. I will say the fries that came with our sandwiches were crisp and well seasoned, and somewhat unfortunately the best part of my meal. Based on our experience, I didn't hate our dinner here and if someone invited me to meet them here, I wouldn't say no, but I'm also not going out of my way to revisit.

The space is open, bright and well decorated making it very inviting for brunch. You order at the counter from the menus placed along the wall then food is delivered to your table. The various brunch items all sounded very inviting so I was having trouble deciding what to order. So I got a recommendation to try the Shakshuka. Not sure how to pronounce it but when it arrived it was just the right portion and quite tasty for brunch. It's a bowl with a red pepper sauce and feta cheese and kale along with eggs sunny side up. The dish is served with pita so you can do a little bit of dipping in the tasty sauce. To accompany our food we selected the mimosa service and bloody mary pitcher. A pitcher is just perfect for sharing. And the mimosa service was delightful. The server arrived with a bottle of Prosecco and small carafes of orange, grapefruit and blood orange juices to mix yourself. The food was fresh and tasty with prompt delivery of our food to our table. Not quite a full service restaurant since you have to order at the counter but still a nice experience located downtown.

Fried Chicken? Libby's gots the goods!…read more I've been here a few times now. A lover of fried chicken who is always on the hunt for the good stuff, Libby's does not disappoint. Located just over the river in Covington, KY, Libby's is only a few blocks walk from some of the happenings in Covington, like the Madison Theatre and Madison Live. There's a decent pay parking lot right at the intersection just across the street from Libby's. I went for the fried chicken and that's what I got.... both times. Libby's is nowhere near me so it was worth the 40 minute drive to get there the first time and an easy go-to for the second time around when I was going out for the night in Covington. The fried chicken is super crispy, full of flavor and moist and delicious. Libby's crushes it when it comes to the fried chicken. Here's the thing - I got sides both times. The chicken, being the feature of the meal, was so good that I don't even remember the sides that I got. I can say though that they were good. Libby's is popular. So, plan on a wait or, if available, to take a seat at the bar. Libby's isn't huge but they have space to take on a larger table of people to small high-tops for two or, again, for one or a few to grab a seat at the bar. The staff is friendly and helpful. We never wanted for anything. They were on top of it without bothering you. Would I go back? Cluck yeah, I'd go back. Remember when I said "Libby's gots the goods"? I wasn't kidding. Go find out for yourself and get you some and then come back and tell me how right I was.
