drinks served in metal cups
Kim S.

I expected to love this place more than I did after reading all the stellar reviews and hearing that people wait for 2+ hours for a table. We had skipped lunch, so arrived at 4pm to try to avoid the Friday night crowd. They weren't busy at all and in fact, sat my husband and I at a 6 top which was kind of odd since there were 2 tops available, but not being crowded in was nice. The decor is cute-I especially like the big dumpling statue in the entry. The server was very friendly and brought us drinks immediately. They use plain metal cups that kind of look like the cups milkshakes are made in. We ordered a couple of dim sum items and a side of edamame. Everything was good, but I didn't seem to like it as well as others have.

I absolutely cannot say enough great things about this place! It truly is one my top five places to eat in the area, and I will recommend it to everyone! We got a few small (but not really small!) plates to share as well as some dumplings! They were out of some things, but our server Jenny gave us some recommendation and I'm glad she did! The green beans were literally my favorite! You can't go wrong with any of the dumplings on the menu, but I do think the Shanghai Shumai was the best! Next time I go, I will try one of the dry pots because those looked like they'd be phenomenal! The restaurant itself is so cute! And I like how they have the window where you can watch the chefs make the dumplings by hand. I think they are quite proud of their craft, and rightfully so! Keep in mind that you will probably have to wait, so get there earlier than you expect to eat. I promise though, the wait is 100% worth it!

Incredible. I've been on a really impressionable kick where if someone says a type of food to me I immediately crave it. We have friends that said they got dim sum, so I was determined to find a great dim sum place near where we were staying. This place is it. We got all sorts dumplings. Everything we tried was amazing. Our favorite one that I am still dreaming about and drooling over are the pork wontons in chili oil. I have zero self control around a good chili oil/crisp, and this dish absolutely delivered. That being said, order whatever speaks to you because I promise it is going to be amazing. We came on a Saturday night relatively late (for us!) and it took a little while for us to get a table. We're so glad we waited! The locale is really cool on the inside, with some views into the kitchen and all the hard work going on in there. The parking situation is a non-issue with plenty of spots available in the area. The staff was super cool and super helpful with recommendations. If we lived nearby we would be wearing this place out! Absolutely come try if you haven't

Wontons in chili oil - chef's kiss!!

So I went for lunch today & was able to get in. After some researching, I went with the drunken noodles with beef & wontons in chili oil. The entree came out - literally - 6 minutes after I ordered, big portion. The wontons came out a few minutes after that & holy cow! These are a must get if you go but be careful - they have a slow heat that builds. My only knock for -1 star was the reception I got from the hostesses when I walked in was colder than a kiss from the in-laws. They literally looked annoyed to take me to a table & there were 3 working. No greeting, no how many, just grabbed a menu & presumed I was to follow. I'm glad I was able to get in & taste what the hype was. I'd hit it...again.

Highly recommend for soup dumplings and Szechuan food. The restaurant was busy on a Monday night and we had to wait 30 minutes for a table. No complaints about the service. The food came out quick for how busy it was. All our food came out at once, so we ran out of space on the table (not a big deal). Next time we'll order a few dishes at a time. We ordered a few soup dumplings, which were absolutely delicious. The shanghai shumai was good, but not what we were expecting as it was primarily sticky rice with a little bit of ground pork mixed in. The sichuan crispy fillet was a favorite of ours with the perfect of amount of spice. The yang chow fried rice and west lake beef soup were good, but not something I would order again.

The soup buns. Large for a single bite but very tasty

Fun place the service was very attentive. I loved the soup dumplings and the pork buns were very tasty as well. The edamame and onion rings were both solid as well. I wish we had an another couple so we could have tried a few more options.

Solid 4 stars for this place that is literally a current obsession in Cincy! I do understand the hype as the food is pretty good and traditional (even if some of the dumplings could be better and more flavourful), but for this city not having proper valid alternatives is still a very hot spot to try. Our server Cody was quick and helpful, and the place itself has a nice atmosphere.

Came here at 3:00 on a Saturday and waited about 30 minutes for a table for 2. Inside the restaurant was chaotic. Lots of staff but they're going every which way. Not warm and fuzzy. Tables crammed in a small space. Service was fine. Food comes out sporadically- you're never sure when you will get a dish. Our favorite dish was the wontons in chili oil. The "famous" soup dumplings weren't for us. Maybe we got a bad batch? The slimy almost undercooked interior was not good. We did like the green beans and drunken noodles. Mixed feelings on this place.

So we first came here on a Saturday evening. We thought that if we got there around 5pm, the wait wouldn't be too bad. It was over an hour. We came back the next day, Sunday, at 2pm thinking it would be less wait. Wrong! It was still a 46 min wait- but well worth it! We started with the chili oil pork dumplings and they were amazing! Then we had the chicken fried rice and it was the best I've ever had. Hands down! Such a good Smokey flavor. We tried the soup dumpling and it was very good but harder to eat. I think the non-soup ones are my favorites. We also tried a fried beef dumpling and it was also very good. Only minor complaint is they are not good at refilling drinks. They do have really good Diet Coke, nice and cold in a metal cup. This will become one of our regular places on rotation, when we don't mind waiting. Definitely recommend !

Wow! This place is fantastic and the people know it! Wait time was 45 minutes. I like how you can watch and see how many parties are in front of you while you're waiting. Service was great! I wish things were explained a little bit better though. Food was amazing! Price $$$ Cleanliness; 7/10

You know a place is good when it's busy on a Wednesday night! We walked in thinking it would not be a wait. Boy, were we mistaken! The wait for a party of 6 was 25-30 minutes. There are no seats for waiting but we did not mind waiting near the display glass where we watched the employees making the dumplings. It was so cool to see the process. While we waited, we looked at the menu. Once seated, we knew exactly what we wanted and ordered right away. Our waiter Joseph was very knowledgable and helpful. Everything came out so quick. The flavors were on point and great portion sizes. GET THE STRING BEANS! They were my absolute favorite. So flavorful, garlicky and not too greasy. I am thinking about them right now and wanting more. I ordered the Triple Delight with the shrimp, beef and chicken. The shrimp in this dish was my favorite and I think next time I would see if I could get the shrimp with that sauce because the sauce was amazing. The dry pot with lamb was the star of the show. My daughter ordered that and we all loved the taste of the lamb. Lot of veggies which balanced out having all the dumpling haha. The pomegranate strawberry lemonade was phenomenal! 10/10 Very extensive menu with too much to choose from. I absolutely loved the chopsticks and wanted some to take home, so the owner was nice enough to let us take a pair. Will definitely be back the next time I'm in Cincy! Thank yall!

Corner Dumpling House is a gem of a restaurant serving up tasty dim sum and many other flavorful dishes that are sure to wow you. Our group of 6 split black truffle fried rice (yummm), the fried tofu, two orders of soup dumplings, dry mushroom pot, spicy fried fish, and a pot of hot tea. Every single dish we had was delicious and hearty. Service was quick and oh so friendly! Parking is ample and easy to access. The inside is super cute and large enough that you could bring a bigger sized group with no problems. If I lived nearby I would celebrate my birthday here!!

No room left on the table!

Amazing food. I can't recall the last time I had dim sum, but this didn't disappoint. Our table for 3 was filled to the max with plates! Prices are so reasonable you'll want to try several things. My friends said their pork items were amazing and better than the beef items. I got the vegetable dumplings which were perfectly cooked and seasoned, great umami flavor. I wanted to order the peanut noodles but the server talked me out of it. Instead I got the Mei fun vegetarian which is usually my favorite at Chinese restaurants; this one was ok but needed some sort of sauce. I ended up using the dumpling sauce in the table and it was perfect. I also go the fried sesame balls, another favorite, and they were the perfect size and texture and well-cooked. As far as wait times go, we went at 730 on a Friday night and waited an hour. There were people crowding the front door and desk area and you could tell the staff was annoyed. It was cold out and there's no waiting room, so we walked around Fresh Thyme across the street to stay out of the way. On the flip side, we ordered our food and it came out so fast! I couldn't believe it was already coming to our table after 5 minutes, I thought it was premade or something but everything was too fresh. Next time I will try the peanut noodles and won't be talked out of it! Would return.
