23. Hot and Sour Soup #yum #ReviewsByRL

Everytime I'm in town, Chinese food sounds good, and here's where I end up ordering from! Tonight (9/30/23) again was hot and sour soup, steamed dumplings, and shrimp Chow Mei fun. Plus a soda, all for $21. Good portions, tasty! #yum #ReviewsByRL

C1. General Tso's Chicken Combo Plate with Lo Mein

They said the food would be ready in 10 minutes. It was ready in 7. I changed up the General Tso's Chicken to have Lo Mein instead of Fried Rice. They did it without a problem. Everything was great.

$17.28 for Chinese food that actually was enough for two meals.

I am picky when it comes to Americanized Chinese food but I am always open to different places. Sometimes it is great and I am glad to have tried a 'new' place and sometimes I wish I just hadn't. Johnny Chans falls in the I'm glad I tried it category. As the usual case, I was on the road for work and I don't like going out when I get to the hotel. I got online, picked Johnny Chans from a short list of Chinese eateries and placed my order. I am also a creature of habit so General Tso's and an egg roll was my dinner selection that evening. Ordering delivery can be hit or miss sometimes and I am glad to report that Johnny Chan's is on top of it with delivery. My order was cooked and delivered to me in no time at all! My General Tso's chicken was hot, crispy, and not overly coated in a sickeningly sweet sauce. There was a lot of chicken there and when added the stuffed to the brim container of rice, I had enough food to make two meals. The egg roll was decent. It was a typical mass produced egg roll but obviously not the cheapest option the restaurant had to choose from. It was crispy and stuffed with plenty of cabbage and pork. The hot mustard was your run of the mill packaged stuff which all Chinese takeaways have. It would be nice to see some place make their own hot mustard because there is no comparison between the two. I guess that will be on my wish list. Any Chinese takeaways listening? lol Not including tip, I spent $17.28 for food the actual made two meals so I'd say that was a good deal! If you ever find yourself just north of Cincinnati in the Sharonville area, why not grab something from Johnny Chan's? It is tasty and a good value.

I can always rely on consistently delicious Chinese takeout. A great variety with many options including brown rice and vegetarian.

You're also not paying an ambiance tax here - and the menu reflects it. The pork snout was really good and the bok choy was delicious too! This is an absolute gem of a spot for authentic Chinese food and I'll definitely be back.

We planned to order off of their lunch menu, and split a bowl of noodles for her birthday. Chinese tradition is to eat noodles on birthdays, so we asked the server what she recommended. She told us they actually offer complimentary birthday noodles! We were so surprised; we'd never heard of anywhere doing that before. We ordered the Twice-Cooked Pork Lunch, Fish with Chili Bean Sauce Lunch, and the Birthday Noodles. With lunch, we were allowed to select an egg roll, egg drop soup, or hot and sour soup. We both opted for the hot and sour soup. Even without the complimentary noodles, this meal was incredibly well-priced at $10.99 per lunch special. High quality dishes with plenty of meat and fresh vegetables. The noodles were simple but larger than expected, well-cooked, and delicious. My mom raved about this place. She hasn't had quality Chinese food at that price in a long time, and is telling all of our family members that we should go back when they're in town. It wasn't very busy, but we hope it was just the weather. Hopefully lots of people are supporting them! We can't wait to go back.

Wow wow wow! That was some flavorful, delicious Chinese food -- and with a fun, funky ambiance!…read more We were seated quickly at one of 2 open tables on a rainy Thursday evening. Ordered green tea, a Jade Dynasty cocktail and pot stickers to enjoy while we perused the menu (including the picture book!). The pot stickers were delicious! More like meatballs inside, served with a I-don't-know-what-this-is-but-it's-delicious sauce. We ordered and were pretty quickly delivered our mains: How Fun noodles (level 2 spice) with chicken and Pepper Beef (level 3 spice). Both were outstanding! The sauces on both were savory and delicious. The noodles were great - not slimy like they can sometimes be but firm yet delicate. The chicken was tasty. The pepper beef was tangy and tender with a nice balance of peppers and onions. Serving sizes big enough for lunch the next day. Vibrant decor made the place really feel alive and servers were friendly and efficient. We found street parking but I assume this part of Covington gets busy on weekend nights so allow a few minutes to find a spot. Bonus tip: stop at DelGardo's down the street and get a couple cannoli for dessert. Perfect end to a delicious meal!

First off, the place has a fun and playful vibe with the kung fu theme, especially when you're greeted by a Shaolin Soccer poster. The service is also A+! Extremely friendly and attentive. The portions are also generous. However......... my tastebuds are baffled. We ordered a hot and sour soup as our starter and it was extremely sweet. It was basically hot sugar soup. If we hadn't put our full order in at the same time as the app, we probably would've paid after the soup and left then. However, we did order and got the szechuan beef, general chu's sesame chicken, and the how fun noodles which we were all okay. Not memorable. I'm leaving one star because the staff and atmosphere were great. I've never been compelled to write a bad review, but I could not get past the sugary hot and sour soup. For $55, I'd really expect more flavor than just sugar and chili oil for all of the dishes.
